[EPL] Chelsea vs Man Utd
Minggu, 8 November 2009
Kick Off : 23.00 WIB
Venue : Stamford Bridge Stadium
Chelsea vs Manchester United

Carrick ready for Bridge test
United midfielder eyes crucial showdown
http://img.skysports.com/09/09/218x298/Carrick_2367270.jpg
Michael Carrick knows Manchester United must not allow Chelsea to open up a five-point advantage at the summit when they travel to Stamford Bridge next Sunday.
The Red Devils bounced back from their disappointing defeat to Liverpool at Anfield with a 2-0 success over Blackburn to remain on the heels of the Premier League leaders.
England midfielder Carrick believes that in the wake of their Merseyside reverse and early-season shock at Burnley there is less room to manoeuvre if Sir Alex Ferguson's side are to secure an unprecedented fourth successive title.
Carlo Ancelotti's Blues have suffered setbacks of their own, with away defeats at Wigan and Aston Villa ensuring the Premier League table is tightly packed ahead of Sunday's showdown, live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1.
"It is always a big game at Stamford Bridge, no matter what the occasion is," Carrick said.
Believe
"When it is tight at the top like it is, after the defeat to Liverpool we do not want to lose track on the big teams and it will be an important game for us.
"At this stage of the season it is just about accumulating points and seeing where you are in the later stages.
"The table is changing week in, week out but after Christmas things tend to settle down a bit.
"Then maybe you get one or two that pull away - and hopefully we will be included in that. You've just got to believe in yourself and if you do, anything can happen."
Prior to the Chelsea clash, United will tackle CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League, and they will go into the match boosted by their victory over Rovers.
Dimitar Berbatov opening the scoring in the 55th minute with a superb turn and shot before Wayne Rooney sealed the victory in the closing stages with a neat finish from Anderson's cross.
Carrick added: "We always believe we can create a chance that we can score from. Thankfully Berba did that with a terrific finish.
"It was a tremendous volley. We have seen him do it before and hopefully we will see him do it many times again.
"That is what he is all about, he uses his quality in the final third and he maybe could have had one or two more."

Carrick: Mari Kalahkan Chelsea!
http://www.kompas.com/data/photo/2009/11/02/0546586p.jpg
Apalagi persaingan kami amat ketat.
(PA)

Geruduk Chelsea, MU Tanpa Jantung Pertahanan

Lampard: Kejar Kami, MU!
Rossi Finza Noor - detiksport

Hmmm...
Chelsea lagi produktif banget nih...
RF5 ama NV15 masih diragukan hadir, tapi tetap percaya deh klo WB6 ama JE23 yg maen...
Lini tengah gak boleh salah2 passing kaya' waktu lawan L'pool...
Moga2 A8 ama MC16 bisa melanjutkan duet asiknya waktu lawan Blackburn kemaren...
Klo RG11 fit, sepertinya SAF bakal nurunin dia nih...
Bakal ketat nih pertandingan...
Tetap optimis United bisa nyuri 3 poin, prediksi:

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson calls for consistency as champions head for Chelsea
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/02/article-0-07090ED4000005DC-167_306x397.jpg
Plenty to smile about: Ferguson with United striker Dimitar Berbatov
Sir Alex Ferguson is looking for his Manchester United side to build up a head on steam in the coming months.
A 2-0 victory against Blackburn at the weekend saw the champions get back on track in the Barclays Premier League, following their defeat by Liverpool. And United now have a big week.
They face CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Tuesday, when a fourth straight victory should secure a place in the next stage.
Then on Sunday they travel to Stamford Bridge for a meeting with leaders Chelsea.
Ferguson said: 'It is a tough league. We are experienced enough at this club to know how difficult it is to win the league.
'It is not going to be any different this year. The great thing about us is that we know it is a difficult league.
'Mistakes are going to happen - you lose games you do not expect to lose. You go for consistency - and if we are in there in January we have a great chance.'
That theme was taken up by by midfielder Michael Carrick, who said: 'It is always a big game at Stamford Bridge, no matter what the occasion is.
'When it is tight at the top like it is, after the defeat to Liverpool we do not want to lose track on the big teams - and it will be an important game for us.
'At this stage of the season, it is just about accumulating points and seeing where you are in the later stages.
'The table is changing week-in, week-out. But after Christmas, things tend to settle down a bit.

Game on: Carrick (right) is relishing United's trip to Chelsea
'Then maybe you get one or two that pull away - and we hope we will be included in that. You've just got to believe in yourself; if you do, anything can happen.'
Ferguson could hand a Champions League debut to French winger Gabriel Obertan, who came off the bench against Blackburn after recovering from a back injury - only to miss a sitter.
Carrick said: 'He will maybe get a little bit of stick - you cannot let him off for that. It was great for him to finally play - it's been a frustrating time, coming to England and not being able to get out there with the lads.
'Obviously it was disappointing for him not to score, but we hope there will be many more chances to come - and he'll put them away.'
United will again be without Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs, who missed the Blackburn match through injury.

Fletcher & Ando sbg perusak permainan & bertugas naik turun. Carrick sbg breaker, pengumpan & penyimbang lini tengah. Ratio gol Chelsea cukup tinggi kala main di Bridge baik di Eropa maupuin Premiership. Kondisi skuad Don Anche sedang fit juga.

don carletto membuat persaingan MU-Chelsea makin panas dibandingkan musim2 lalu... kualitasnya sebagai pelatih tim besar tak perlu diragukan lagi... tapi nobody's perfect... setiap orang juga punya kelemahan... permainan sepakbola yg dimainkan 11 orang juga punya kelemahan.... dan kelemahan itulah yang harus dimaksimalkan.....
overall,,, Chelsea sering kebobolan lewat set-piece....

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson writes off Arsenal and Liverpool, in two-horse Premier League title race with Chelsea
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has written off Arsenal and Liverpool's Barclays Premier League chances, stating it is a two-horse race for the title this season between his reigning champions and Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea.
Ferguson goes head-to-head with the Italian for the first time in the league this Sunday when his United side travel to Stamford Bridge to take on the current leaders.
And with United trailing the Blues by two points in second place, Ferguson believes Ancelotti's men have already laid down a marker and that his side must get the upper-hand over them this weekend.

Them and us: Sir Alex Ferguson insists it's a two-horse race for the title this term with Chelsea being United's serious rivals for the Premier League crown
It’s looking that way,' Sir Alex told the club’s official magazine Inside United. 'It seems they’ll be the ones to get in front of.

Red the full interview in this month's edition of Inside United - Manchester United's official magazine
'They have a very experienced team, that’s the first thing. Their consistency, compared to last season, has probably been a wee bit better under Ancelotti.
'He’s brought in the system he used at AC Milan of the diamond in the middle of the pitch. It’s hard to break down when you get into their third, because they’ve got bodies compacted into the central area of the pitch.
'Jose Mourinho played one up and five in the middle of the park – that also made Chelsea very difficult to beat, but in a different way to what Ancelotti is doing.'
Mindful that United's record away from Old Trafford has betrayed them twice so far this season, Ferguson insists his team will not be looking to repeat any of the same mistakes they made in the defeat to Liverpool at Anfield almost a fortnight ago.
'You have to have a winning mentality and it was missing at Anfield,' he added.

Job well done: Sir Alex Ferguson (R) has praised Ancelotti's start to life in England

'We’re in the business of winning, and when we lose it has an impact in that you can’t afford to lose many if you want to win this league.

Ferguson: Ingat, MU Bisa Dilumat Chelsea
http://www.kompas.com/data/photo/2009/11/04/0803467p.jpg
MANCHESTER, KOMPAS.com - Manajer Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, mengaku agak kecewa dengan permainan timnya saat menjamu CSKA Moskva di lanjutan Liga Champions Grup B, Selasa atau Rabu (4/11) dini hari WIB. Menurutnya, pertahanan timnya parah.
Gol ketiga mereka membuat kami kaget," kata Ferguson.
Dia tak mau beralasan absennya Rio Ferdinand membuat pertahanan rapuh. Menurutnya, lini belakang MU memang perlu pembenahan.
Meski begitu, dia percaya timnya mampu memperbaiki penampilannya. Toh, MU tetap bermain bagus, terutama di babak kedua. "Para pemain kami fantastis, karena mampu membuat banyak peluang. Kiper CSKA Moskva saja yang bagus, hingga teror kami banyak yang digagalkan. Maka, kami tetap optimistis," terangnya.
"Rooney kurang tidur. Tapi, dia masih bermain bagus dan inspirasional," puji Ferguson. (AP)

Ferguson: Vidic Sembuh untuk Chelsea
Edwan Ruriansyah, Toto Pribadi
http://media.vivanews.com/thumbs2/2008/12/18/61278_nemanja_vidic__kanan__dan_nani_300_225.jpg
VIVAnews - Kabar gembira datang dari Old Trafford.

Berbatov Dan Giggs Kembali Perkuat United
Manajer Sir Alex Ferguson bisa menurunkan tim terbaik meski bakal kehilangan Rio Ferdinand.
4 Nov 2009 13:11:59
Berbatov bakal fit. Demikian pula dengan Giggs dan Vidic," lanjutnya.

MANCHESTER - Usai Liga Champions, Manchester United langsung fokus ke Premier League. The The Red Devils akan menghadapi Chelsea di Stamford Bridge, Senin (9/11/2009) dinihari.

Manchester United do not fear Chelsea, but we must stop deadly Didier Drogba, says Gary Neville
Gary Neville insists Manchester United do not fear title rivals Chelsea but has warned the champions defence must be at their best to stop free-scoring Didier Drogba when they collide this Sunday.
The Ivorian striker struck twice in the Blues 2-2 with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, taking his tally to an impressive 12 goals in 13 games, and Neville knows United must deal with him if they are to have any chance of leaving Stamford Bridge with a vital win.

Beware of the Drog: Neville knows Manchester United have to deal with Drogba
'We're not worried,' Neville told the London Evening Standard.
'Of course we have to stop Drogba as well as Anelka, Lampard, Ballack and Deco. But we know their strengths. You have to deal with them. We will.'
United's makeshift back four were exposed by Russian opponents CSKA Moscow on Tuesday evening at Old Trafford and a last minute equaliser rescued a 3-3 draw.

Deadly Didier: Drogba has scored a 12 goals in 13 games so far this term
With uncertainty surrounding the fitness and form of first choice centre-halfs Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic ahead of their crunch weekend clash, Neville is confident Sir Alex Ferguson's side are ready to dispatch Carlo Ancelotti's men.
'It will be a completely different game on Sunday, a lot tighter,' he added.
'You lose a game against Liverpool and there's criticism. But the fact is we've beaten Arsenal at home, we've beaten City at home.'

Manchester United must improve for crucial Chelsea game, says Wes Brown

Wes Brown has conceded Manchester United will have to defend far better at Stamford Bridge on Sunday if they are to get anything out of their crucial Premier League match against Chelsea.
Both sides will go into the game with their Champions League knock-out place secure following draws last night. But while Carlo Ancelotti's men were pleased with their efforts against Atlético Madrid, United looked far less secure.
It took another injury-time strike, this time a deflected Antonio Valencia effort, to earn a 3-3 draw against a spirited CSKA Moscow side.
The ease with which the Russians scored their three goals provides huge cause for concern, especially as Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed Rio Ferdinand is highly unlikely to return as he struggles to recover from a calf injury.
It means either Brown or Jonny Evans will continue in central defence alongside Nemanja Vidic, who should be fit. Brown knows that against the likes of Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka, such defensive weakness will be punished.
"We cannot concede like that when we go to Stamford Bridge," he said. "We have to be tighter at the back and give the strikers the chance to do a bit of damage at the other end.
"It will be our toughest game of the season. They have been doing very well. They are a well-organised team and they will be very strong. They are scoring goals at the moment and we will have to be really on top form to think of getting any points."
Meanwhile, Darren Fletcher has spoken of his disbelief at the booking he collected for diving during last night's encounter.
When the Scot went down under Vasili Berezutsky's ill-timed tackle, it appeared a certain spot-kick. TV replays backed up that view but the Portuguese referee Olegário Benquerença showed Fletcher a yellow card for simulation.
Sir Alex Ferguson has already called on Uefa to amend their rules to allow appeals in such situations, mindful of the fact Fletcher missed last season's final against Barcelona through suspension. The Scotland midfielder admitted he was completely stunned by the decision.
"It was a penalty," he said. "I have turned and the lad has just swept me off my feet. I've not tried to fall or stay on my feet or anything. When the referee blew his whistle I just thought 'great, it is a penalty and we are back in the game'. When I saw he was walking towards me with the yellow card I could not believe it.
"I am not having much luck with these cards. Hopefully it will change in the later stages."

Carrick up for Chelsea clash
-Manchester Evening News-

MICHAEL Carrick helped United get back to winning ways and then roared: "Bring on Chelsea!"
The England star says there is no way the Reds will repeat the mistakes of Liverpool next Sunday.
"It is always a big game at Stamford Bridge, no matter what the occasion is," he said. "When it is tight at the top like it is, we do not want to lose track on the big teams.
"At this stage of the season it is just about accumulating points and seeing where you are in the later stages."
United's 2-0 win against Blackburn on Saturday leaves them two points adrift of Chelsea, and victory this weekend will see them leapfrog the Londoners. And with Dimitar Berbatov in his best form since his £30.75m move to Old Trafford, Carrick believes United have a player capable of winning the biggest matches.
After the Bulgarian's superb strike set United on the way to victory against Rovers, Carrick said: "It was a tremendous volley. That's what he's all about. We've seen him do it before and, hopefully, we'll see many more."

Jonny Evans and Wes Brown give Manchester United cause for concern
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is facing some sleepless nights between now and Sunday's game against Chelsea with thoughts of a rampant Didier Drogba likely to wake him.
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01515/wes-brown_1515927c.jpg
Fernando Torres has already proved the bogeyman for Manchester United's senior defensive duo by terrorising Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic at Anfield 10 days ago.
Now Drogba is lining up to play the Grim Reaper for Jonny Evans and Wes Brown at Stamford Bridge if Ferguson's highly-praised second-string centre-halves repeat the performance that gave CSKA Moscow unexpected Champions League encouragement.
The calf injuries that have confined Vidic and Ferdinand to the stands for the last two matches, and which threaten their participation at Chelsea, have opened the door for Evans and Brown to plant their flag into the heart of United's back four.
Both Ferdinand and Vidic have performed so miserably in recent weeks that it may not have required their injuries to force them out of the starting eleven.
Evans and Brown could have been in on merit, rather than a result of a couple of tweaked calves. Ferguson, for one, insisted prior to this game that the pair were on a par with any defensive duo in the Premier League.
He said: "We are very fortunate to have two players like Wes Brown and Jonny Evans. When we bring Wes in, there is no better defender in the country and I have no worries about facing Chelsea on Sunday in terms of Brown and Evans."
Having been given the big build-up as United's 'Quality Street kids', Evans and Brown only lived up to the billing by offering further evidence of United's soft centre.
To give the pair their due, Evans and Brown combined to help United to their first Premier League clean sheet since September during the 2-0 victory against Blackburn on Saturday. But it all went wrong for them as Leonid Slutski's forwards toyed with the two defenders like a cat with a dead mouse on Tuesday night.
Tomas Necid and Alan Dzagoev pulled the pair of them apart for the first goal, with Necid splitting Brown and Evans with a chest pass to Dzagoev that resulted in the latter opening the scoring in the 25th minute.
Worse was to come when Milos Krasic profited from Brown's failure to deal with Necid sufficiently for CSKA's second goal. Just like Evans, Brown allowed himself to be sucked in by Necid and he paid the price.
It wasn't quite as brutal a dismantling as that performed by Romario and Hristo Stoichkov on Steve Bruce and Gary Pallister during a 4-0 hammering at the Nou Camp in November 1994, but it was bad enough.
Neither Evans and Brown were at fault for CSKA's third goal, when Vasili Berezutski escaped the daydreaming Kiko Macheda to score at the far post, but Ferguson is still left with the question of how to resolve his defensive problems?
Does he rush Vidic and Ferdinand back to face Drogba and Nicolas Anelka or does he keep faith with Evans and Brown?
Ferdinand and Vidic could be torn apart if they play half-fit at Stamford Bridge, but so could Evans and Brown. It's enough to keep the United manager awake at night.

'Big game' tag won't wash with Daz - but Manchester United star Fletcher is ready to put Chelsea in a spin
Darren Fletcher is not allowing himself to get affected by his new tag as Manchester United's "big game player".
Fletcher returned to action after a month's absence with an ankle injury against CSKA Moscow, just in time for Sunday's crucial Premier League showdown with Chelsea.
And it would seem the Scot will be one of the first names on Sir Alex Ferguson's team-sheet too.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/04/article-1225243-07129D4D000005DC-902_468x341.jpg
Great Scot: Darren Fletcher holds off CSKA Moscow's Deividas Semberas
Certainly, United missed Fletcher's battling qualities against Liverpool a fortnight ago, with the hole his injury left proving just as troublesome to fill as it did in Rome last May, when Barcelona ran riot in the Champions League final.
Ferguson is unlikely to leave his team similarly exposed at the weekend now Fletcher is a proven top-class performer.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/04/article-1225243-07128DC7000005DC-500_233x449.jpg
High praise: Sir Alex Ferguson
For a player whose early days in the Red Devils' first-team were dismissed rather crudely, the plaudits must sound nice.
But Fletcher insists he is not taking them too seriously.
"I take the compliments with a pinch of salt," he said. "I enjoy these matches as much as anyone and I put pressure on myself to perform more than anyone does.
"The challenge of playing against the top-class players that Chelsea have is one I look forward to and I will be doing my best to win the match.
"But I am not going to make or break games like this."
As someone who, during Jose Mourinho's time with the Blues, scored a winner against Chelsea at Old Trafford, Fletcher understands completely how tense such affairs can be.
With the Londoners currently sitting on top of the Premier League table and United two points adrift in second, there is no reason to believe Sunday's showdown will be any less fraught.
Not that Fletcher feels it will have a massive bearing on who eventually goes on to clinch the championship. There is far too much football to be played for that.
"Sunday is a massive game. Games against Chelsea always are," he said. "It is not going to make or break who wins the league by any means, although it is an important benchmark.
"Maybe psychologically it might have an effect. But Chelsea are a top-class side and we will respect them."
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/04/article-1225243-010C754900000578-476_468x323.jpg
Battle of Stamford Bridge: Patrice Evra (right) clashes with Chelsea's groundsman last season
It is seven years since United enjoyed the taste of victory at Stamford Bridge.
They have managed a couple of draws there in the last three years, although they are split by the ill-tempered defeat in April 2008 which landed Patrice Evra with a four-match suspension.
Respective combatants from both sides are hoping for a less fractious affair this time around, with Fletcher purely focused on collecting those long-awaited three points.
"It would be good to win," he said. "We have had a couple of draws down there but we have still not managed to win in the league and we are desperate to do it.
"But we will go there with a game-plan and try to get a result."
Fletcher will hope to emerge from Tuesday night's outing in slightly better shape than he went in.
His latest injury has been a frustrating one to recover from and he knows it will take a bit of time to regain full fitness.
"It is nice to get back into the team and get 90 minutes under my belt because I have not played for a while," he said.
"I felt fine, which was the most important thing, although I was not 100 per cent with my touch and awareness on the pitch. But the game will help and, if selected, I should feel the benefit on Sunday."

Jelang Chelsea vs MU
MU Tak Risaukan Drogba cs
Kris Fathoni W - detiksport
Reuters

Oh Stamford Bridge....
http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/europe/united_kingdom/england/london/london_stamford_bridge2.jpg
COME ON UNITED!!!

Jelang Chelsea vs MU
Tak Ingin Mengulang Cerita Anfield
Rossi Finza Noor - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/05/72/SirAlexAFP-isi.jpg
Setelahnya The Red Devils berusaha mencari gol penyama kedudukan. Namun, bukannya menyamakan skor, gawang mereka kembali bobol pada masa injury time lewat serangan balik. David Ngog sukses melengkapi kemenangan The Reds menjadi 2-0.
Mampukah Wayne Rooney cs melakukannya?

Liga Inggris Pekan Ini
'Setan Merah' dalam Ancaman
Doni Wahyudi - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/05/72/Duo-200.jpg

Fergie Puji Ancelotti
Rossi Finza Noor - detiksport

Manchester - Jelang pertemuan dengan Chelsea akhir pekan ini, Sir Alex Ferguson berkomentar soal Carlo Ancelotti. Bukan sebuah serangan, melainkan pujian. Apa katanya?

Ujian Terbesar MU
Doni Wahyudi - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/05/72/Evra-Telegraph285.jpg
Jakarta - Dalam lima tahun terakhir, Manchester United dan Chelsea adalah dua penguasa Liga Inggris. Berstatusnya juara bertahan, "Setan Merah" merasa The Blues adalah ujian terbesar melanjutan dominasi.

Debate: Didier Drogba v Wayne Rooney, who is the best?
Manchester take on title rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday in what is undoubtedly the biggest match of the weekend.
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01517/rooney_drogba_1517133c.jpg
The case for Drogba:
Chelsea's Ivory Coast international has been a revelation already this season, scoring nine goals in the Premier League, just one behind Fernando Torres, who tops the chart.
Carlo Ancelotti's men are leading the Premier League table thanks in large part to Drogba's efforts. His strength and pace are his biggest assets and the ability to out-muscle even the most imposing centre-backs.
And it's not just banging in the goals that Drogba excels at. The Ivorian has the second highest number of assists this season too - eight - just one behind Arsenal playmaker Cesc Fabregas.
What they say:
Florent Malouda on Drogba: "He has not changed, the fact he had a good pre-season without injuries can explain it, he is really happy and enjoying his form at the moment. He is training harder than ever and had some rest because of the ban, but is now back in the competition and scoring goals. He always believed in himself, even in the second division in France he was dreaming about it and preparing himself. Even at this level he is working harder and harder."
Patrice Evra on Drogba: "We need to be strong because Drogba and Anelka are two big strikers. They are both so quick and strong."
Carlo Ancelotti on Drogba: "I don't want to change him with any other striker. Didier is an important player for us. We have a lot of important players but he is doing very well and we are happy. I'm very happy with his behaviour, and I hope he continues like this. Didier was motivated at the start of the season and has been doing very well and continues to do very well. We have a lot of important players and he is certainly one of them."
Didier Drogba on Drogba: "I think I am in the form of my life. A few years ago I was playing with the same confidence. It's always easier when you are playing injury-free. I always say I am happy to be on the pitch and playing. I hope I can continue playing and feeling like this until the end of the season."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The case for Rooney:
Other than goalscorer, Wayne Rooney can be described as the consumate team player. The England international will run himself into the ground for United, covering every blade of grass and chasing after every ball. As forwards go, Rooney is not only one of the most lethal, but also one of the most unselfish.
He has scored seven Premer League goals for Manchester United so far - just two behind Drogba - and although his assists don't measure up to his rival - Rooney has just one to his name - his passing and pass completion rate is far superior to that of Drogba.
In the Premier League and Champions League combined, Rooney's pass success is an impressive 73 per cent, compared to 59 per cent for Drogba.
Drogba has often been described as lazy, failing to track back when the opposition have the ball. With Rooney, that criticism does not apply.
What they say:
Sir Alex Ferguson on Rooney: "He's blessed with certain ingredients that only great footballers have. It's the determination and hunger to win every match, every time he goes on the field, every training session. He's blessed with that and it'll never change for him. They're wonderful things to take into football. We sometimes wonder with the criticism about what footballers get paid but when you see that effort he puts in, he's worth every penny he's paid because he plays as if he means it."
Frank Lampard on Rooney: "Wayne is the most talented player I have ever played alongside. As a midfielder, as soon as I get on the ball I want to play it in behind the other team's midfield or defence. I need someone to be ahead of that action, already getting into a good position. As you learn to play with Wayne, you realise that his awareness is exceptional. It's his key strength. Wayne Rooney is an incredible player. He would get into any club or international side in the world."
Fabio Capello on Rooney: "I am very happy when Rooney plays. He is different to the other players and has always done well with the national team. He is a very big talent. He can do everything.

United need a first win at Stamford Bridge in seven years in order to regain pole position...
Form Guide: Chelsea have amassed a total of 13 goals in their past three league games, taking a two-point lead over United in the process. Their bid for a fifth straight win in all competitions failed in midweek, however, when Sergio Aguero struck a last-minute equaliser for Atletico Madrid; Didier Drogba’s two goals in the final eight minutes looked to have sealed a Champions League win but the 2-2 draw in Spain was still enough to send the Blues into the last 16. United, meanwhile, were on the right end of a last-gasp leveller and will be buoyed after coming back from 3-1 down to book a place in the knockout stages. Domestic matters now take priority and the Reds will see Sunday's game as a golden opportunity to reclaim top spot after conceding it with defeat at Anfield.
Manager: Carlo Ancelotti has made an impressive start in English football, having joined Chelsea in the summer after a long and successful spell with Milan. While at the San Siro, he picked up a number of major prizes, most notably the Serie A title and two Champions League crowns in 2003 (at Old Trafford) and 2007 (after beating United in the semi-finals). He might have conquered Europe earlier, with Juventus in 1999, had the Treble-chasing Reds not pulled off a stirring comeback in the second leg of the semi.
Ins and Outs: Chelsea may recall Nicolas Anelka and Deco to the starting line-up as they target the victory that would put them five points ahead of United. Defenders Ricardo Carvalho and Branislav Ivanovic are also likely to return after resting on the bench for the match in Madrid. Meanwhile, United are likely revert back to the team that beat Blackburn with Dimitar Berbatov, Nemanja Vidic and Ryan Giggs all set to recover from their respective injuries. However, Gary Neville is still suspended and Rio Ferdinand could miss out again due to a calf injury.
Star Man: Frank Lampard. Having gone ten games without a goal, the England midfielder has netted in three of Chelsea's last four matches. His ability to create opportunities for Drogba and Anelka also makes him a threat.
Referee: Martin Atkinson. The man who refereed arguably the greatest Manchester derby of all time will be the man in the middle on Sunday. He's brandished 56 yellow cards since the beginning of the season but has yet to show a red.
Rivals Watch: Man City v Burnley Sat 15:00, Wolverhampton Wanderers v Arsenal Sat 17:30, Liverpool v Birmingham Mon 20:00.

Jelang Chelsea vs MU
'Setan Merah' Bidik yang Pertama Sejak 2002
Kris Fathoni W - detiksport
Chelsea 1-1 Manchester United 21-09-2008
Chelsea 2-1 Manchester United 26-04-2008
Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United 09-05-2007
Chelsea 3-0 Manchester United 29-04-2006
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United 15-08-2004
Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United 30-11-2003
Chelsea 2-2 Manchester United 23-08-2002

Faltering Manchester United defence faces toughest test when they meet Premier League leaders Chelsea
DESPITE the millions of pounds spent each year on attacking players in the Barclays Premier League, it remains the case that defences win championships.
Last season may be remembered in part for thrilling Manchester United fightbacks against teams like Aston Villa (3-2) and Tottenham (5-2) at Old Trafford.
It is these days that stand out on the highlights reel.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/05/article-0-0712573B000005DC-928_468x286.jpg
Faltering defence: United conceded three at home to CSKA
Sir Alex Ferguson's team did not win their third successive league title on the back of exciting matches against teams like Villa and Tottenham though.
Shut-outs at places like Portsmouth, Blackburn, Villa, Manchester City, Tottenham and West Ham ultimately saw them over the line.
But it is United's poor defending - rather than breathless, heroic comebacks as happened against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday - that will occupy Ferguson's mind ahead of Sunday's meeting with title rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
So far this season, United have recorded six clean sheets in 15 league and European games but, significantly, they have not managed one against a domestic opponent of real note.
Facing the formidable Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba on Sunday, improvement must come.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/05/article-1225599-06288E5F000005DC-564_468x300.jpg
Special relationship: Anelka and Drogba have been on fire for the Blues
United left-back Patrice Evra said: 'When you concede three goals, as we did against CSKA, you cannot say that it is a good performance for a defender. But the league is totally different.
'Anelka and Drogba are both great friends of mine and great players and, if you want to win there, you have to keep a clean sheet.
'So all the defenders have to focus about this game. Because I think that is how we will win it.'
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/05/article-0-0708FCC3000005DC-253_306x485.jpg
Shut-out: Evra says United must keep a clean sheet against Chelsea on Sunday
United's problem is perhaps best illustrated by the fact that Chelsea have already kept nine clean sheets this season.
At home they have conceded only once in the Premier League. The other disturbing aspect of United's season has been the manner of some of the goals they have conceded.
The three against CSKA were indicative of the malaise - poor marking, incoherent communication and failures to take responsibility.
United have won the league for the last three years by conceding 24, 22 and 27 goals respectively.
The days when they can ship 45 and still lift the trophy - as they did in 2000 - have long gone. So far 11 have gone in to their net in the league at an average of one a game. It does not sound a lot but over a 38-game season it will prove far too many.
Central defender Wes Brown said: 'We cannot concede like we have been doing when we go to Stamford Bridge. It will be our toughest game of the season.'

Ya nggak pasti juga sob. Meski lini belakang (bek) hanya Evans dan Brown tapi kita masih punya VDS dibelakang mereka. aku harap pas pertandingan itu penampilan VDS maksimum. Selain itu sebelum pemaen2 chelsea berhadapan sama kuartet lini tengah kita (klo Fergie pake formasi 4-4-2)... jadi semoga lini tengah MU bisa dominan akhir pekan ini jadi efek nggak adanya Rio dan nggak sepenuhnya fit Vida (gara2 habis cedera) bisa sedikit diatasi.
Mungkin kuartet lini tengah seperti lawan Spurs dulu bisa diulangi tapi dengan Scholes diganti Carrick. jadi MU bisa bener2 menang lawan lampard cs. klo sampe lini tengah MU seperti lawan sunderland, ya siapapun bek kita yang maen bisa babak belur klo lawan Drogelka (drogba-anelka :hammer: ).
Aku optimis kita pasti menang, meski cuman dengan skor 1-0.

yg paling penting tuh lini tengah IMO
kalo lini tengah kita maen ny kayak pas lawan pool, abis lah united

Aq cuma melihat 3 buah partai ketika mereka berdua dipasang bersamaan, yaitu partai Carling Cup ( Barnsley vs Manchester United ) , BPL ( Manchester United vs Blackburn Rovers ) dan Champion's League ( Manchester United vs CSKA Moscow ) .

Chelsea v MANCHESTER UNITED: Nemanja Vidic back to bolster defence for champions
Nemanja Vidic is set to return for Manchester United's eagerly-anticipated visit to Chelsea on Sunday.
The Serbian has missed two games due to a calf strain but returned to training earlier this week and is expected to be fit, along with £30.75million record signing Dimitar Berbatov, who missed Tuesday's win over CSKA Moscow after taking a bang on his knee-cap.

Jelang Chelsea vs MU
Fergie Bermimpi MU Kembali Sakti
Arya Perdhana - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/07/72/Ferguson-AFP-isi.jpg

I'm expecting them to win the match, of course, though deep down in my heart I doubt it..

Jelang Chelsea vs MU
Fergie Berharap pada Fletcher
Rossi Finza Noor - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/08/72/DarrenFletcherAFP-isi.jpg
Semua lawan meningkatkan permainan ketika melawan kami," tukasnya.

Dan perlu diingat, lini belakang United sedang kropos tanpa Vidic, tapi lini tengah berhasil mematikan serangan2 Chelsea sehingga drogba dibikin frustasi dan akhirnya harus diganti, Lampard mati , Deco diganti Joe Cole dan dua duanya ga bisa berbuat apa2... Bahkan mereka yang kewalahan. Keberuntungan aja intinya pertandingan malam ini, sisanya... United jauh menguasai pertandingan.... Ga sabar menanti Chelsea di Old Trafford d....
Walaupun kalah, United tercatat sudah menyelesaikan semua partai melawan tim2 papan atas. Fergie Gugat Keputusan Wasit
Kris Fathoni W - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/09/72/FergieR.jpg

Terry sinks Manchester United to extend Chelsea's lead
http://static.soccerway.com/photo_dynamic/orig/250/relative/12426801570.jpg
LONDON (AFP) - Chelsea moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League after John Terry's late goal clinched a 1-0 win over champions Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Carlo Ancelotti's side, who have now equalled a club record of 11 successive home wins, edged a fiercely contested encounter when Blues captain Terry struck in the 76th minute from a disputed free-kick.
United, beaten for the third time this season, had a first half penalty appeal turned down when Terry tugged Antonio Valencia's shirt.
Wayne Rooney went close after the break but Chelsea won it in the 76th minute when referee Martin Atkinson ruled that Darren Fletcher's challenge on Ashley Cole was worthy of a foul.
Frank Lampard curled in the set-piece and Terry timed his run perfectly to glance a header past Edwin van der Sar into the far corner.

Ferguson loses the faith
-The Sun-
http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00924/Alex_Ferguson_280x3_924597a.jpg
ALEX FERGUSON saw his Manchester United sunk by a controversial goal and sighed: I've lost the faith.
With the game locked at 0-0, John Terry nodded in Frank Lampard's 76th-minute free-kick.
United were fuming that the intial free-kick — given for a Darren Fletcher foul on Ashley Cole — was unfair.
And it got worse for the Reds when Didier Drogba appeared to haul down defender Wes Brown — just as he was about to clear Terry's header.
Fergie rapped: "Clearly, Darren Fletcher's won the ball.
"Ashley Cole's never been touched and has jumped up in the air — and then Drogba's pulled Brown to the ground for the goal.
"The referee's position to make the decision was absolutely ridiculous, he can't see anything.
"He's got a Chelsea player [Joe Cole] standing right in front of him and he doesn't even move.
"It was a bad decision, but there's nothing we can do about it. You lose faith in refereeing sometimes, that's the way the players are talking in there — it was a bad one."
Goal-hero Terry was chuffed to have fired Chelsea five points clear at the top of the table.
The Blues skipper added: "Another clean sheet for us today, we talk about the attacking players and midfielders coming back and working hard for the team and that's exactly what we got today.
"[The five-point lead] was exactly what we wanted coming into the game, we've been working on it all week. That wasn't the best of games but I think overall we deserved it."

'MU Tampil Lebih Baik dari Chelsea'
Kris Fathoni W - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/09/72/MUR.jpg

Brown Akui Dilanggar Drogba Sebelum Gol
Kris Fathoni W - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/09/72/BrownR.jpg

BPL masih panjang dan still 19elieve :muscarf:

Proud Reds lose at Chelsea
Manchester United lost to John Terry’s late header at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea has referee Martin Atkinson to thank for the victory. Atkinson and his assistants made not one, or two but three glaring errors in the lead-up to the Londoners’ goal to hand Chelsea a five point lead at the top of the Premier League.
The manner of defeat, coming after an impressive United display, is particularly galling but Sir Alex Ferguson’s men leave town in the knowledge that the home side was forced to rely on luck – and officialdom – for the win.
Ferguson, without injured central defensive pair Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, predictably selected Wayne Rooney to plough a lone furrow up-front. Ryan Giggs and Antonio Valencia offered support in wide areas with Dimitar Berbatov also absent through injury. Ferguson, often the gambler, chose to play safe and United produced a disciplined performance against a Chelsea side unbeaten at home.
United edged a tense first half that offered few chances from a solid midfield foundation. Indeed, Brown and Evans, so haphazard against CSKA Moscow in midweek, soaked up everything Diddier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka threw at them.
The officials were to have an early hand in Chelsea’s victory though. Prior to their involvement in the home side’s goal, Atkinson and co. twice denied United in the first half. Firstly when Anderson put Rooney through on goal, only for the assistant to incorrectly rule the striker offside and then Atkinson failed to blow when Terry hauled Valencia to the ground in the area.
Darren Fletcher, dominant in midfield, saw a shot blocked by Ricardo Carvlho while Giggs and Michael Carrick also tested the Chelsea ‘keeper in the opening period.
Rooney twice went close after the break as United continue to ask more questions than the home side. First the Scouser drove inches wide of Petr Cech’s post then the former-Everton striker forced a top class save from the ‘keeper with a curling shot.
But all United’s work was undone as the officials gifted Chelsea a late winner. Fletcher, winning the ball cleanly from Ashley Cole, was harshly judged to have fouled the former Arsenal left-back on United’s right. Frank Lampard swung over the free kick for Terry to head home.
The officials, perhaps blinded by their unity with an insulted colleague, ignored both Drogba’s foul on Wes Brown and the offside position of the Ivorian.
Ferguson sent on Michael Owen and Gabriel Obertan to retrieve the situation but it was too late as United slipped to yet another away defeat to a ‘top four’ side.
Finally, Chelsea’s plastic fans – most of whom only discovered the club existed in 2003 – sprung into life. Meanwhile, United’s travelling army leave town beaten but proud that their team was worthy of much more.
Predictably Ferguson attacked the referee post match, blaming the Yorkshire-born official for failing to spot Fletcher’s clean challenge.
“The referee’s position to make the decision was absolutely ridiculous, he can’t see anything,” said the Scot.
“It was a bad decision. You lose faith in refereeing sometimes, that’s the way the players are talking in there.”
“That goal should never have been allowed,” added Ferguson.
“We’ve dominated the game; we’ve had great chances to win the match and not taken them – and that’s our fault.
“We had great opportunities to get to the edge of the box and some really good chances in and around the box, but we should be finishing it off.
“We’ve only ourselves to blame in that respect. But you do need a break – and we never got the break we needed.”

saya cukup kecewa ketika serangan united banyak mengandalkan umpang lambung...

United we stand!!!

Anderson growing as a great player in mid... i still questioning... kenapa juga yang diganti Ando bukan Carrick?
CArrick is off tadi malem... so does Giggs...
And Valencia? Wasitnya Katro...
ohh... And HE ACTUALLY CAN USED HIS LEFT FOOT!!!!! (his last kick at the game)
And Obertan.. I think dia harus maen jadi starter di pertandingan berikutnya.. doi nambah attacking variation in UNited's attack scheme..
Anyway, its a great game led by a moronic ref!!!

Cuma nonton babak I, n have no doubt that we played better than those blues.... Dari awal sih emang udah deg2an ama lini belakang, Brown n Evans bikin gw jantungan mulu :(
Secara keseluruhan, MU tampil baik, tp ternyata tampil "baik" tidak cukup utk mencuri point, so next time kita harus bermain luar biasa. Believe

BPL masih panjang dan still 19elieve :muscarf:
tapi kalo dalam konteks pertandingan semalem, jelas2 hoki bro... Terry nyundul n harusnya bisa dibuang Brown tapi brown dijatuhkan Drogba dan harusnya pelanggaran, Drogba di posisi offside tapi ternyata wasit ga liat... apa namany kalo bukan hoki, n kemenangan Chelsea jg jelas2 keberuntungan masih ada di mereka. United menguasai pertandingan, Chelsea ga bisa apa apa semalem n minim banget serangan berbahaya... baru semalem gw ngerasa kalah tapi ga kecewa sama sekali... puas liat MU bermain, tapi itulah sepakbola... luck berperan sekali pada satu pertandingan apalagi pertandingan dengan minim kesalahan dari masing2 tim semalam...

iya yah, Chelsea sama sekali ga dapet corner... satu satunya keunggulan mereka cuma shots on goals aj... bukti kalo United emang menguasai pertandingan semalem sebenernya hanya saja Chelsea lebi efektif...

buat yang bilang permainan chelsea ga bagus-bagus amat, ya Ancelotti gayanya emang gitu. AC Milan juga dulu ga bagus2 amat, tapi menang UCL 2x dengan pemain veteran, ga bagus2 amat sih.
Lini tengah sih oke, tapi miskin kreativitas.

serangan serangannya jadi kurang mantap...

kenapa waktu Giiggs point blank gak nembak langsung ya, padahal posisi pake kaki kiri terbuka lebar, eh malah ngoper...wekzzz
jangan kuatir ...., posisi baku hantam antar big 5 cukup seimbang, siapa yg tuan rumah, mereka yg menang, semester 2 United jamu Liverpool & Chelsea di OT selebihnya United away ke Emirates & Shiteh. Jangan United kehilangan poin lawan tim gurtem macam Sunderland & Burnley

jujur aja, jelang match semalem gw sebenernya rada pesimis. terlebih ngeliat permainan United yg msh belom pada form terbaik. apalagi pas liat line-up pemain di central defender yg dipasang duet brown-evans. takut klo kejadian lawan CSKA terulang lagi.
tapi setelah ngeliat performa United di ba²k pertama, gw pun langsung optimis kalo kita bisa meraih poin di Stamford Bridge. Lini tengah kita cukup efektif buat ngeredam pergerakan pemain Chelsea, apalagi Fletcher udh ikutan main.. dia membuat perubahan yg cukup siginifikan dalam permainan United. tapi gw setuju dgn bbrp pendapat teman² diatas, Rooney mnurut gw semalem bermain kurang nyaman sebagai single striker. dia justru sering turun ke tengah, bahkan ga jarang juga sampe ke belakang. mungkin harusnya klo emg SAF mau pake satu striker, disana psg aja Owen sementara Rooney bisa diposisikan dibelakangnya, atw mungkin agak jadi winger. Rooney kan emg cukup senang menyisir lapangan terutama dari sayap.
terus di ba²k kedua, yg gw rada gemes kenapa pergantian pemainnya ga ASAP.. dari POV gw pribadi, Giggs itu agak under-perform semalem. Valencia juga sama, malah dia cenderung m'hambat mobilitas serangan United. mungkin pada inget waktu Ando udh bergerak ditengah lalu mengoper ke Valencia dan berharap akan mendapat one-two, taunya malah Valencia ngoper lagi ke Carrick... duuh, msh rada² blom klik nih orang menurut gw..
overall, seharusnya kita minimal bisa menahan seri Chelsea semalem, karena Chelsea emg ga main sebaik di pertandingan² sebelumnya. sayang banget, Obertan dan Owen terlalu terlambat dimasukkan.. sehingga impactnya juga ga cukup u/ membawa United meraih poin minimal...
WE SHALL RISE AGAIN FROM THIS FALL... [-O<

Plenty of reasons to feel proud
When I walked away from Anfield a couple of weeks ago I must admit I felt disconsolate. United simply hadn’t turned up and were well beaten. But yesterday, on the way back from Stamford Bridge, I felt really positive about United’s performance despite a third defeat of the season.
Before the match, the Chelsea fans I spoke to were super confident. And yet, United produced a dominant display. The tactics were spot on. Chelsea’s much vaunted midfield was totally outshone by the outstanding Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick and Anderson.
I’m beginning to think Fletcher is the unluckiest player in Europe. On Tuesday he gets outrageously booked for diving and then yesterday he wins the ball from Ashley Cole but is penalised by referee Martin Atkinson and Chelsea score from the resulting free kick. Cole’s reaction to the challenge did Fletcher no favours.
The boss told me after the game that he’s losing faith in referees. The Chelsea goal tells you he has a point. Firstly, it was never a free kick. Secondly, Wes Brown is fouled by Didier Drogba, and thirdly, Drogba is clearly offside and interfering with play when the ball goes in. Apart from that, the goal was perfectly legitimate. Three supposedly top officials thought there was nothing wrong with it. That says it all.
If you look deeper, all of the key decisions went against us: Antonio Valencia should have had a penalty after getting hauled down by John Terry, and Wayne Rooney was wrongly flagged for offside when clean through on goal.
The only good thing Mr Atkinson did was book Drogba for getting kicked in the chest by Jonny Evans. Essentially Drogba was booked just for being Drogba. And I have to say I’m all in favour of that!
But United’s performance was excellent and merited more from the game. I think we saw the real United yesterday; resolute at the back, tigerish in midfield and always dangerous with the magnificent Rooney in attack. And remember, this was a United team with key players missing.
In the tunnel after the game the United squad were fuming. Disappointment and injustice was etched across their faces. I think this will now galvanise everyone and we could see the start of one of the team’s famous winning runs. After 12 games last season, we were 8 points behind Chelsea and yet still won the title with a bit to spare. The only frustration now is that we all have to sit through yet another interminable international break before being let loose on Everton. But you can bet the lads will be fired up for that one.

The fource is with Chelsea!
-The Sun-
http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00924/John_Terry_and_Fran_924814a.jpg
CARLO ANCELOTTI inspired another win against one of the Big Four superpowers and insisted: This is the key to claiming the title.
Beating Manchester United and Liverpool was something the Blues did not manage last season.
But the Italian coach has already turned that on its head with victories over both helping his team take a five-point lead at the top of the table.
Chelsea's record against their big rivals last term was as poor as their third-place finish - they did manage to beat Arsenal once.
Yesterday was their 11th consecutive home win - a new club record.
But Ancelotti knew he had to improve results against the big clubs and be more ruthless with the others.
He said: "It's important to get results against the big teams and we have now won against Liverpool and Manchester United.
"But we have also lost against Wigan and Aston Villa and have to maintain concentration against other teams.
"We beat a very good team. A fantastic team and it's very difficult to beat United.
"The match was in the balance for 90 minutes and it was difficult to create a situation to score for both teams.
"The set-plays were important. We've lost at those in the past. Today we won and, in this situation, it was important."
Ancelotti gave the controversial winning goal to skipper John Terry - despite TV evidence which suggested Nicolas Anelka got the final touch.
The two players gave the impression they did not really care about who had scored, although the fact Terry has never notched against United made his claim more forceful.
The Blues skipper said: "I'd never scored against them home or away and it's exactly what we wanted - to be five points clear. It wasn't the best of games but we deserved it and it's another clean sheet.
"Even the attackers got back and defended for the team. That's what we want them to do, and that's what they did."
Anelka insisted he had got a touch on the ball but was more pleased with the fact his team are top going into the international break.
The French ace said: "I touched the ball but I don't know what happened after that.
"United were a bit on top in the first half. They played some good football and created some chances.
"But five points clear is very good. We wanted to win because United are a big rival."
Ancelotti has now beaten Alex Ferguson in every clash.
He revealed that, although he intends to share some fine red wine with the Scot, he clearly saw red about the behaviour of some of the United players.
Ancelotti said: "I think the United players protested a lot. I don't know why.
"I don't like this, for sure, but at the end of the match - a match that was very difficult - all the players have worked very hard so, sometimes, it can happen.
"I will go to Italy and I will get him a very good red wine. I think that, until now, we've done very well.
"But you have to look at it at the end of the season. Now we are in a good position in the Premier League and the Champions League.
"We have to say 'thanks' to all the players because, until now, they have done very well.
"We have to continue because during the season there will be other strong matches like this. It's important we've started the season very well, we have 30 points from 12 games.
"But the season is very long and we know that. We have to stay focused for the next matches."
United boss Fergie was unhappy with ref Martin Atkinson over the free-kick that led to the goal.
He said: "Clearly Darren Fletcher never touched Ashley Cole who just jumped up in the air to win the free-kick. And the referee's position to make a decision on Drogba pulling Brown was absolutely ridiculous. He can't see it.
"There was a Chelsea player standing right in front of him and he doesn't even move. It was a bad decision but what can you do?
"We've dominated the game and had great chances to win the match. And that's our fault.
"Some of the football we played getting up to the box was good. But considering some of the chances, we should have finished them off. You do need a break."
A delighted Ancelotti added: "We did what we had to do. We beat a very good team."

No defence for Fergie
-Sky Sports-
Sir Alex Ferguson needs to spend more time worrying about his own side's shortcomings rather than blaming referees, that is the opinion of Sky Sports expert Jason Cundy.
Not for the first time this season Ferguson blamed the man in black for a Manchester United defeat, claiming John Terry's winner for Chelsea should never have stood.
There were two areas of debate on the goal, with Darren Fletcher convinced he won the ball against Ashley Cole, and then Didier Drogba appearing to stand in an offside position directly in front of Edwin van der Sar.
Replays appear to show Drogba was in fact onside, and Cundy insists Ferguson will be papering over cracks if he uses referee Martin Atkinson as the scapegoat for Sunday's defeat.
"The referee is out there making honest decisions. Referees make mistakes like Sir Alex makes mistakes, like footballers make mistakes," Cundy told Sky Sports News.
"I'll ask this question. Who was making the mistake when John Terry wasn't picked up at the free kick? One of the best headers of a football gets a free header right in the centre of the box.
"Has Sir Alex come out and criticised his players? No, he's got a job to do and he's defending his team.
"Wes Brown has to be stronger on the goal because he's in front of Drogba but then goes down too easily, and it is he who keeps Drogba onside so it makes no difference if Didier was active."
Evans should have walked
-Sky Sports-
Cundy accepts United should have been given a penalty for Terry's foul on Antonio Valencia, but he insists the referee was equal for both sides, failing to send off Jonny Evans for a dangerous kick out at Drogba.
"Too many times managers, and Sir Alex is as bad as I've seen, come out criticising the referee.
"The ref gets things wrong for both sides. The decision not to deal with Jonny Evans more severely when he kicked Didier Drogba - haven't heard anything from Sir Alex.
"Ivanovic got booked when he got a piece of the ball before taking down Ryan Giggs. I can see why the ref has booked him, just like I can understand why he gave a free kick for the Darren Fletcher tackle.
"Fletcher gets a bit of the ball, but then his left leg takes out Ashley Cole. It's an honest decision by the ref, we need to live with it.
"Undoubtedly Jonny Evans' tackle was the worst of the match, it was shocking and deserved a red card yet Sir Alex has no problem with the ref on that one.
"On the flip side, the John Terry foul on Antonio Valencia is a definite penalty. Terry knows he got away with that one. So there are decisions going against both sides, we need to live with it."
Three horse race
-Sky Sports-
Victory takes Chelsea five points clear of United who remain third, and Cundy believes the top three will remain as they are - with Carlo Ancelotti's men taking the title.
"Chelsea haven't conceded a goal at home since the first day of the season. They're getting back what they had under Jose Mourinho.
"They were second best on Sunday yet they still won.
"Liverpool are out of it, not mathematically, but they've left themselves too much to do.
"Arsenal are the form team, going forward they're awesome. The thing is, they'll always beat teams like Wolves, but in the two big games so far this season they were better than Manchester City and Manchester United, but they got beat.
"There's still a soft underbelly at Arsenal, when they come up against a strong Chelsea side I think you'll see it again.
"I think Chelsea, United, and Arsenal will be the top three, with Chelsea as champions.
"The transfer embargo has now been suspended, and people make a big thing of the African Cup of Nations but when Chelsea lose those players they play Burnley, Birmingham, Hull, Sunderland - that's quite an easy route through that period."

A football fan stole the attention from Chelsea's victory at Stamford Bridge last night - with a flash of his teeth.
The fan was spotted cleaning his pearly whites close to the Manchester United bench as Blues striker Didier Drogba was subbed off for Salomon Kalou.
The camera cuts to Kalou as Drogba runs towards his teammate - but the fan grabs the moment as he stands in shot casually brushing his teeth.
A clip of the stunt was promptly posted on YouTube and has already been viewed by thousands.
Chelsea went on to beat United 1-0 and maintain their lead at the top of the Premiership.
But while Nicolas Anelka was declared official man of the match, some viewers claimed the toothbrush man was the real hero.
"This was highlight of the match - haha what a legend," one YouTube user posted.
Others questioned whether the moment was all just a planned stunt.
"Honestly I think when he got this seat behind the bench he already knew what he'd be doing to get (on) television," another wrote.

Rossi Finza Noor - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/09/72/SirAlexFergusonAFP-isi.jpg

Manchester United have new focus after Chelsea defeat
-Belfast Telegraph-
Referee Martin Atkinson may unwittingly have provided Manchester United with the impetus they need to land an unprecedented fourth straight Premier League title.
Although the Red Devils left Stamford Bridge cursing Atkinson last night after the controversial John Terry goal that sent Chelsea five points clear, Sir Alex Ferguson knows there is plenty of time left to haul the Londoners back.
But instead of nudging along on the back of a succession of below-par displays compared to their own exacting standards, United have a renewed focus.
Ferguson is never happier than when he can paint an image of his squad having their backs pressed against a wall, pushed there by some perceived injustice.
In deciding Darren Fletcher's perfectly fair tackle on Ashley Cole was a foul, then failing to spot Didier Drogba hauling Wes Brown over as Terry's header flew past, Atkinson has done just that.
"It is very hard to take," grumbled Ferguson.
"But in the context of Manchester United, with the squad we have got, the gap is not unassailable - that is for sure.
"What that match has done is provide a reminder that we are a very good team.
"We have been criticised recently by a lot of people. But we have a cause now. We want to win this league."
It was at a similar point last season that United bounced back from defeat at Arsenal to embark on the run of 14 successive clean sheets that led to them finishing top of the Premier League.
Critics will argue the big differences between then and now are the absences of Carlos Tevez and, in particular, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ferguson is aware of the problem - and with Nani failing to find the level of consistency required to do damage at the highest level and Ryan Giggs too old to do the job twice a week for another six months, it would be no shock if the Scot delved into the January transfer market.
Certainly elsewhere, United seem in decent health.
The odd lapse apart, Edwin van der Sar is still producing high-class performances - and Ben Foster, despite mishaps against Manchester City and Sunderland, is now an England regular under Fabio Capello.
There are options in central midfield, where Fletcher's progress into one of the most effective 'destroyers' continued yesterday when he outshone Michael Essien in their own personal duel.
United appear in rude health in central defence, given the combination of Brown and Jonny Evans proved so effective in subduing Drogba.
With Rio Ferdinand's absence unlikely to end soon, Ferguson will be relying on the pair even more as the season goes on.
Evans' ability has been known for some time, while his manager has always felt Brown would be regarded as one of the best centre-halves in England were it not for his chronic list of injuries.
Even after cruciate surgery in both knees, a broken ankle and various muscular problems, Brown has already been to one World Cup and may well make a second after being selected in Fabio Capello's England squad for Saturday's friendly with Brazil in Qatar.
At the moment, though, an England commitment is a bit of an irritation -given his desire to put yesterday's result right, certain in the knowledge that he had been fouled as Terry scored.
"It is very hard to take," he said, echoing his manager's sentiments.
"Drogba was holding me and he pulled me down. He has obstructed me from trying to jump for the ball. But the referee did not see it. What can you do?
"I didn't think it was a free-kick in the first place either. Darren has not gone in viciously.
"It looks like he has just turned, and Ashley Cole has jumped in the air.
"We definitely did not deserve that result. We were the better team. We passed the ball well and had more chances.
"It is disappointing to be five points behind them now. We just have to try and put this result behind us, carry on playing like that - but just score goals."

Manchester United's Wayne Rooney warned by FA over '12 men' remark

Wayne Rooney has been warned about his future conduct by the Football Association after appearing to mouth "12 men" into a television camera following Manchester United's defeat by Chelsea.
The United striker made the comment as he left the pitch at Stamford Bridge, an obvious reference to the performance of the referee, Martin Atkinson.
An FA spokesman said: "Wayne Rooney has been warned as to his future conduct following remarks made yesterday."
His manager Sir Alex Ferguson will not face any action following his criticism of Atkinson. Ferguson condemned the decision to award the free-kick that led to Chelsea's winning goal as "absolutely ridiculous" and said such decisions mean people "lose faith in refereeing".
