[EPL] Man Utd vs Everton
Minggu, 22 November 2009
Kick off : 00.30 WIB
Venue : Old Trafford Stadium
Manchester United vs Everton, bounch back time

'MU Tak Boleh Kalah Lagi'
Rossi Finza Noor - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/10/72/MUAFP-isi.jpg
London - Belum separuh musim Premier League berjalan, Manchester United sudah menelan tiga kekalahan. Jika ingin mempertahankan gelar juara Liga Inggris, The Red Devils tak boleh kalah lagi.

Cedera Carrick Buat Ferguson Tersenyum
http://media.vivanews.com/thumbs2/2008/11/18/58967_michael_carrick_300_225.jpg
Seperti yang dilansir The Times, setelah dilakukan pemeriksaan diketahui cedera paha Carrick tak terlalu parah.

Hibbert Wants Old Trafford Win
-nsno.co.uk-
http://www.nsno.co.uk/e107_images/icons/hibbert-europa.jpg
Tony Hibbert wants Everton to beat Manchester United on Saturday.
The right back is hoping that the Toffees can pick up their first points at Old Trafford since they managed to hold the Red Devils to a draw in 2005. Speaking to EvertonTV earlier today, Hibbert said he was looking forward to the game and also said he was hopeful of giving some good stick out to his former team mate Wayne Rooney.
"It's Old Trafford. It's a great stadium, a great team and they're up there fighting for the league every season," he said.
"We haven't had the best of runs and hopefully one day we can change it around.
"The stadiums you play at week in, week out are unbelievable and United have got one of the best stadiums in the world.
"You go to Old Trafford expecting what you always get; it's hostile, the fans are all going to be up for their players. But you just have to get your head down and play.
"There's always banter with Wayne and I talk to him a lot throughout the games," revealed Hibbert. "He always gives a lot back. It's a good laugh."

Trio close in on return
-clubcall.com-
Everton will give injured trio Phil Neville, Leon Osman and Stephen Pienaar until the last minute to prove they should face Man Utd.
The trio are close to a return although this weekend's clash with the champions may just come too soon for them but they are on the edge of first team recalls.
With a little light beginning to show at the end of the injury tunnel Tony Hibbert has warned those playing this weekend that they must give everything if they are to have any chance of keeping their place when the injured players return.
He told the Post: "The players who are out are genuine class. So, the players who are currently in the first-team are constantly looking over their shoulder even when they are fit or not.
"A few of them are on the fringes of a return and it just shows what hard work they have put in; we can't wait until they are back.
"People say that when the injured players are out, the team picks itself. Other players (elsewhere) may not want the injured players to come back, but that is certainly not the case at Everton. Every player at the club wants as big a squad as possible. It's just a case of them wanting Everton to achieve, and the squad that we have are a great bunch of lads."

Vidic Siap Kembali Perkuat MU
Reky Herling Kalumata - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/19/72/Vidic-isi.jpg

Banned - but Sir Alex Ferguson will still be in the dugout when Manchester United tackle Everton

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will be in the dugout at Old Trafford on Saturday when his side face Everton.
The Football Association have confirmed Ferguson's two-match touchline ban does not start until 14 days after the disciplinary panel hearing, which was held last week.
It means Ferguson will be in the stand on November 28 when United face Portsmouth at Fratton Park and then during the Carling Cup tie with Tottenham.
Ferguson was given a four-match touchline ban, of which two are suspended until the end of the 2010-11 season, after admitting a charge of improper conduct.
The charge related to media comments made about Alan Wiley following United's match against Sunderland at Old Trafford in October when he questioned the referee's fitness.

Manchester United v Everton classics: Sportsmail remembers four famous matches from the past between the English giants
-dailymail.co.uk-
Well, things are already moving on a pace.
It only seems like yesterday that I was cursing the (far too) early start to the season, as the beautiful game rudely encroached on the summer's dramatic Ashes series and Berlin's blessed World Athletics Championships.
Now here we are three months later, with Christmas decorations already up in the shops and the season beginning to take shape.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/15/article-1228019-023DBF11000005DC-468_468x333.jpg
Old rivals: United midfielder Darren Fletcher and Everton's Marouane Fellaini battle for the ball during last season's 1-1 draw at Goodison Park
Manchester United play Everton on Saturday evening at Old Trafford, in a match between two of the 'Big Five' as some of us still refer to mentally at times. (Apologies folks, but I still struggle to think of Chelsea as a bigger club than Everton or Tottenham Hotspur.
United lost at Chelsea a fortnight back, and are now five points behind the Londoners in the Premier League. Winning four titles in succession was always going to be a ridiculously tall order, but experience and hunger may yet keep United in the race into the New Year and beyond.
Everton badly needed their win at West Ham two weeks ago, after a disappointing set of results. To be fair manager David Moyes has had to endure some dreadful luck on the injury front, and only now is he starting to welcome back some of his regular first teamers from the treatment table.
But before we settle back and watch the action from Old Trafford, let's take a step back and wander once more down that street of streets. The place we couldn't prevent ourselves from travelling to if we tried. The lane of memories.
I have recalled four matches between Manchester United and Everton here, but you may have other favourites and I'd love to hear your own memories.
1984: BRILLIANT EVERTON PUT UNITED TO THE SWORD WITH THUMPING WIN AT GOODISON PARK
Everton simply had a marvellous team in 1984-85. In my books, they remain one of the finest sides of the past three decades in English football. Probably only Liverpool's 1988 vintage and Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United creations of 1999 and 2008 rank higher.
It was this side that means Everton will always be a big club in my eyes, one of the English game's biggest.
Everton had quality all over the park, but their midfield shone the brightest. Paul Bracewell, Trevor Steven, Kevin Sheedy and Peter Reid provided a superb combination and made life unpleasant for all Everton's opponents in that campaign of great achievement.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/19/article-1228019-0049EDC600000258-565_468x306.jpg
Simply marvellous: Everton boss Howard Kendall and striker Graeme Sharp were key figures in the club's brilliant title success in 1984-85
The goal that always sticks in my mind is a diving header from Andy Gray in a 4-2 win over Sunderland, but for a game and complete performance the home match against United was quite something.
I well remember this autumn afternoon, when United under Ron Atkinson were simply no match for the rampant Merseysiders. The Goodison Park faithful had never had it so good.
Everton tore into United from the start, completely outclassing the visitors with a quite stunning show. They deserved their three goal lead by half-time, with Kevin Sheedy scoring twice.
He injured himself in the process of scoring the first with a superb header and after receiving treatment came back on to fire home a second.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wb2rJl8uliA&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wb2rJl8uliA&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en_US&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Adrian Heath turned in a third goal before the break, and the hosts put the gloss on a splendid win with a powerful drive from Gary Stevens and a header from Graeme Sharp.
For good measure, Everton went to Old Trafford three days later and won 2-1 in a League Cup tie.
The Merseysiders claimed a richly deserved league title that season, and after an unforgettable semi-final victory over Bayern Munich they beat Rapid Vienna in Rotterdam to win the European Cup Winners Cup.
1985: PIECE OF MAGIC FROM NORMAN WHITESIDE WINS FA CUP FOR BIG RON'S UNITED AT WEMBLEY
Everton were chasing a golden treble on this May day, but United always had something about them in cup football.
Atkinson's United had already beaten Liverpool in a memorable semi-final but were underdogs at Wembley.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/19/article-1228019-005A70CB000004B0-32_468x286.jpg
Victorious: Manchester United players celebrate their FA Cup final victory over Everton in 1985
Now I'll always be one of life's sentimentalists, unashamedly so, but I do remember this as being at the high point of Cup final romance.
Television coverage starting before 11am (and the preceeding 'Saturday Superstore' slot also being Cup final dominated), with coverage of both teams at their hotels.
The days when 'Abide With Me' was properly sung by everybody and the old pot really meant something to everybody.
Referee Peter Willis really did make a name for himself on this afternoon, after he sent off Kevin Moran. The United defender became the first player to be sent off in an FA Cup final, and I can still hear television pundit Jimmy Greaves lambast the official.
In truth however it was a very late and pretty crude challenge on Peter Reid by Moran.
Everton were undoubtedly tired after their midweek European Cup Winners Cup triumph, and this was a clear factor as the match wore on. Even though they were down to ten men United fancied their chances as the game entered extra-time.
The winning goal is one of those moments that one saw so often afterwards and in the years that followed, that it became easy to forget how exciting a Cup final moment it was on the day.
It was a moment of pure magic from Norman Whiteside, curling the ball majestically beyond Neville Southall and sending Big Ron and the United supporters into raptures
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/19/article-1228019-007E740700000258-498_233x326.jpg
Hero: Norman Whiteside shows off the old pot to United supporters

1995: DOUBLE PAIN FOR FERGIE AND UNITED AS JOE ROYLE'S EVERTON WIN FA CUP FINAL
United hadn't lost an FA Cup final since Southampton humbled them in 1976, and bookmakers didn't fancy them to come unstuck on this occasion.
They probably didn't take into account how much the whole club was hurting after failing to break down West Ham's defence the Sunday before and conceding the title to Blackburn Rovers.
Alex Ferguson and his men were still suffering the hangover of all hangovers.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/19/article-1228019-037E585A000005DC-476_468x278.jpg
Bruising battle: Joe Parkinson and Paul Ince clash at Wembley
That being said, you had to give credit where it was due. Everton sensed their opportunity and grabbed it with both hands.
The Merseysiders under their manager Joe Royle were inspired on the day, and went in front when Paul Rideout headed first against the crossbar and then into the net.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/15/article-1228019-029AE4A8000004B0-778_468x358.jpg
Pure delight: Everton players celebrate with the FA Cup in 1995
United toiled and battled in the second half to try and force an equaliser but apart from a Mark Hughes effort that was well saved by Neville Southall they never really looked like scoring.
I can still remember the sheer ecstasy of a couple of Everton supporters that were watching the game in the same York hostelry as me, and supporters of the club across the world would celebrate a famous victory long into the night.
The Merseysiders had endured some frustrating years, and narrowly escaped relegation from the Premier League a year earlier, but they had claimed a first pot since their title win in 1987.
One salutory point though: it remains Everton's last trophy, which is a poor return indeed for a club of such stature.
Ferguson would go away and lick his wounds after the Wembley defeat. He sold a few of his major stars in the summer, provoked Alan Hansen to claim 'you can't win anything with kids' and then had the last laugh with a magnificent double.

2007: UNITED STORM BACK FROM BEHIND AT GOODISON PARK TO EDGE CLOSER TO LEAGUE TITLE
You could identify a host of matches as symbolising the reign of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, and here was another classic example.
Sheer will to win? Tick. Never-say-die attitude. Tick. Pure unrelenting drama. Tick.
United hadn't won the title for four years, but were favourites to deny Chelsea a third successive crown as the season entered its final stretch.
When they fell behind in this Saturday lunchtime clash at Goodison Park, and Chelsea took the lead against Bolton, the football world wondered whether the title race would take a decisive swing back in the favour of Jose Mourinho's side.

Jumping for joy: Wayne Rooney celebrates at Goodison Park after scoring United's third goal
Alan Stubbs gave the hosts the perfect start at Goodison Park when his early free-kick deflected in, and Manuel Fernandes smashed home a second goal just after the break.
The match then turned on a mistake from Everton's rookie goalkeeper Iain Turner (only playing only because United held the hosts to the strict terms of Tim Howard's original loan deal). He dropped the ball under no pressure and John O'Shea scored.
Cristiano Ronaldo was sent on off the bench as United sensed that a comeback was on, and almost instantly his header from a Michael Carrick corner forced Phil Neville into scoring an own goal. United were well and truly back in business.
Wayne Rooney then skipped his way into the Everton penalty 11 minutes from time to cooly score a third for United and Ferguson was doing his trademark crazy dances on the touchline.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/15/article-1228019-00794B80000004B0-893_468x395.jpg
One step closer: Sir Alex Ferguson couldn't hide his delight after United's dramatic win at Goodison Park
I was watching the drama unfold in a Barbados bar before cricket's World Cup final, and looked around to see punters everywhere in thrall to the action.
Some of us have long argued that the Premier League is vastly over-hyped, but you couldn't argue that we were witnessing some marvellous theatre, the sort that keeps the money rolling from all corners of the world whenever new television contracts are up for grabs.
When Chris Eagles added a fourth goal victory United supporters could really begin to celebrate, and their day became even happier when news filtered through that Chelsea had only drawn with Bolton. United were on their way to a 16th league title.

Lawan Everton, Fergie Masih Temani MU
Doni Wahyudi - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/20/72/Fergie-Reuters285.jpg
Demikian diberitakan Dailymail.

Manchester United facing defensive crisis ahead of Everton clash as five first-team stars could be out
-mirrorfootball.co.uk-
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/incoming/article205315.ece/ALTERNATES/gallery-large/75545052.png
Sir Alex Ferguson is facing a major defensive crisis ahead of tomorrow's visit of Everton to Manchester United.
United will be without Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville and Fabio Da Silva, while Jonny Evans and John O'Shea are major doubts following injuries on international duty.
That leaves Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Wes Brown and Rafael Da Silva as Fergie's only fit defenders ahead of the must-win game at Old Trafford tomorrow.
United currently trail Premier League leaders Chelsea by five points following their 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago.
And United could find themselves eight points adrift by the time thet play Everton at tea-time tomorrow, if Chelsea win at home to Wolves.
"Hopefully we can get a back four together that can get us through this difficult game against Everton," said Fergie.
"Evans is a doubt. He came off at half-time for Northern Ireland. O'Shea also came off for Ireland against France.
"O'Shea's got a thigh problem and I don't think he'll make the Everton game. We're fighting hard to get Evans fit.
"Fortunately he came off at half-time, which has given us seven days to get him fit, but he's not trained yet so we're not sure if he'll be fit.
"On the plus side, Vidic played 70 minutes for Serbia against South Korea, so he should be available to play against Everton.
"But Gary Neville is still suspended, Ferdinand is still injured, and Fabio Da Silva suffered a groin injury in training, so we've got a wee bit of patching-up to do in defence.
"Rio's problem is back-related. It started off as a calf injury, which can quite often be back-related.
"We're not putting a timescale on it, but we're not talking months. Rio will probably be back in training in two or three weeks' time."

Everton off to Old Trafford

Manchester United must pick up three points against Everton on Saturday evening if they are to avoid slipping further behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League title race.
They sit five points behind the Blues following their 1-0 reversal at Stamford Bridge the weekend before the international break and a win is essential if Sir Alex Ferguson's men are to keep in touch.
United have claimed the Premier League crown on the last three occasions and nobody better than the veteran Scot knows what it takes to get to the top of the pile, but the current situation will certainly test his managerial ability.
Everton will travel to Old Trafford with nothing to lose as they are going through a disastrous run of results and injuries.
The Toffees have won just one game in their last eight games - although this was in their last game at West Ham United - and they should take heart from this.
But with a continuing and lengthy injury list, the woes go on.
Leon Osman (ankle) and Steven Pienaar (knee) are returning to fitness and may be considered for the daunting test.
Former Manchester United favourite and Everton captain Phil Neville (knee) is unlikely to feature and fellow knee victims James Vaughan, Victor Anichebe, Mikel Arteta and Phil Jagielka are all some time away from a return.
Russia star Diniyar Bilyaletdinov also begins his three-match ban following his dismissal against Aston Villa on October 31.
Goalkeeper Tim Howard and striker Louis Saha will be looking to put one over on their former employees after seemingly failing to cut it at Old Trafford.
Ferguson has injury doubts over Dimitar Berbatov (knee) and Rio Ferdinand (calf).
If Berbatov doesn't prove his fitness, Michael Owen could be granted a much needed start alongside Everton old-boy Wayne Rooney in attack.
Long-term absentee Owen Hargreaves is close to a welcome return from his serious knee injury and young striker Danny Welbeck will not be available due to a knee problem.
Last season's fixture saw the Old Trafford giants beat Everton 1-0 thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty just before half-time.

The Serbian has been struggling with a calf injury but came through his country's midweek international with South Korea and is expected to feature as Rio Ferdinand (back) and John O'Shea (thigh) are definitely out.
Jonny Evans (calf) and Michael Carrick (ankle) are also doubts, while Fabio (groin) is definitely missing.

MOYES: BAN WON`T AFFECT FERGUSON
-football365.com-
http://images.football365.com/08/11/240/Moyes_1516079.jpg
Everton manager David Moyes does not believe Manchester United counterpart Sir Alex Ferguson's touchline ban will have any effect on his fellow Scot.
He also criticised the Football Association's procedures in determining punishments for managers and the selection of the people who make the final decisions.
Moyes takes his side to Old Trafford on Saturday for Ferguson's last game before he serves a two-match ban for saying referee Alan Wiley was unfit to officiate his club's match against Sunderland in October.
However, the Toffees boss thinks a suspension for the United boss will have less of an impact on Ferguson than it would on other top-flight coaches.
"It is important a manager gets the chance to be on the touchline if he wants so I do think it is significant if a manager is banned," said Moyes.
"But there are some managers who sit in the stands and are quite happy to do so.
"Sir Alex sits in his seat and can sit back and enjoy the game because he has got a really good team.
"In the main they win so he can sit back, unlike some other managers.
"We are jumping up and down on the touchline trying to motivate and keep getting the right result as much as we can.
"I don't think it will be too big a hindrance to Alex. He's experienced and I'm sure he will be happy to sit in the stands."
Critics of Ferguson's punishment - which also includes a further two-match ban suspended until the end of next season - argued it did not send out a strong enough message about respecting officials.
Moyes claimed members on the disciplinary panel often did not have detailed knowledge of the game and he would prefer to have people from inside football making the decisions.
"The punishment is chosen by people who don't know what they are talking about [in] the game," he added.
"I have been in front of them, the FA, many times and I find it quite interesting to see the people who are making the decisions.
"On some occasions they are right, on some occasions they are wrong.
"You need to ask who picks out the people who study the disciplinary moments in the games.
"Who are they? Are they 'football people' or are they lawyers - I don't know who it is who does it.
"I think more 'football people' should be involved in the decisions.
"You would think 'football people' would have an understanding of what constitutes a red card or a free-kick or diving."
Moyes takes his side to Old Trafford - where Everton have not won since the inaugural Premier League campaign in 1992 - without suspended winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.
Midfielder Tim Cahill is also a doubt after returning from international duty with Australia with a minor groin problem.

Match Pack: Everton

United will be keen to bounce back after the harsh defeat at Chelsea, though Saturday's opponents Everton have often proved a tough nut to crack…
Form guide: Everton will be disappointed with their start to the season. On the opening day they were on the wrong end of a 6-1 scoreline against Arsenal, followed by a defeat at newly promoted Burnley. Since then they have won four out of nine games, most recently against West Ham. The Toffees lie in 12th place in the table but have played a game fewer than most teams. United will be looking to banish the memories of Stamford Bridge, a second reversal in three games, and keep up with Chelsea at the top.
Ins and outs: The visitors are still without Phil Jagielka and Mikel Arteta, who have both gone under the knife in recent months. Phil Neville will also be unavailable to face his former side, while Louis Saha, Jo and reported United target Jack Rodwell are doubtful. Leon Osman, Victor Anichebe, Tim Howard and Steven Pienaar complete a long injury list. For the Reds, Jonny Evans (calf) and John O'Shea (both ankle) are fighting to be fit after picking up injuries playing for their countries, but everyone else has come back from international duty unscathed, including Nemanja Vidic and Ji-sung Park. It's still too early for Owen Hargreaves, while Rio Ferdinand, Fabio and Danny Welbeck remain sidelined and Gary Neville is suspended.
Manager: David Moyes is something of a hero in the blue half of Merseyside, having transformed a struggling Toffees side into European contenders. He cut his managerial teeth at Preston, saving them from the drop in the Second Division and leading them to the play-off final the following season. At the next attempt, he took Preston up as champions. In English football’s second tier he led the Lilywhites to another play-off final, before joining Everton the following season and keeping them up. His greatest achievement was beating Liverpool to fourth place in 2005 to earn Everton a Champions League place. He also guided the Goodison Park outfit to the FA Cup final last season.
Star man: Leighton Baines has provided more crosses and assists than any other Everton player so far this season. Also decent in deadball situations, the attacking full-back scored a match-winning penalty against former club Wigan in August. If ex-Red Saha is fit, United will have to keep a close eye on him, as he has already bagged seven league goals this season, plus two more in Europe.
Referee: Steve Bennett is officiating proceedings on Saturday, which could please both sides as they are unbeaten in their last four games under his rule, with United’s run stretching even further. The man from Kent is yet to referee a match involving the Reds this season, but took charge of Everton’s 4-0 Carling Cup third-round win over Hull.
Rivals watch: The final whistle will have blown for all United’s main rivals before the kick-off at 17:30 GMT. Liverpool and Manchester City are up first on Saturday lunchtime, so at least one of them will drop points. Chelsea will expect to maintain their lead at the top as they host Wolves, while Arsenal travel to Steve Bruce’s Sunderland. The other teams sniffing around the top positions are Aston Villa, who are at Burnley, and Tottenham, who host Wigan on Sunday.

Manchester United (3rd) v Everton (12th)
Manchester United have lost their last two on the road but have won five and drawn one of their six home matches this season. The champions aim to stretch their unbeaten run at Old Trafford against an Everton side who have lost only one of their last six fixtures in the Barclays Premier League.
Man Utd team news
Nemanja Vidic should return to the heart of Manchester United's defence for Saturday's encounter.
Everton team news
Everton winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov is suspended for the trip.
The Russia international serves the second of a three-match ban for his sending-off in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on 31st October.
Midfielder Tim Cahill has returned from international duty with Australia with a minor groin problem and is a slight doubt.

Louis Saha returns to Old Trafford aiming to prove Ferguson wrong
- Frenchman has regained his form and fitness at Goodison
- He was always injured for us,' reflects United manager
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Football/Pix/pictures/2009/1/2/1230903977808/Louis-Saha-001.jpg
Sir Alex Ferguson never doubted the ability that cost Manchester United £12.8m plus a fortune in medical bills but must have suspected a Premier League talent had gone for good when cutting his losses with Louis Saha. It illustrates the Frenchman's rehabilitation that, 15 months on, he is giving Everton more concern over a new contract than his willingness to commit a fragile frame to the cause. Maybe, just maybe, he still has it in him to unearth in Ferguson a rare ounce of regret.
Saha has faced United twice since agreeing a pay-as-you-play deal with David Moyes in August 2008 but tonight marks his first appearance at Old Trafford since Ferguson accepted enough was enough. He will return as the joint-fourth highest goalscorer in the division, only Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Darren Bent have scored more, and savouring his most prolific start to a Premier League campaign. The fitness problems that plagued his four-and-a-half years at United have not gone away; he is carrying a calf injury and spent five days during the international break at a private clinic in France for further treatment. But he is willing, able and in demand to play. That is a transformation in itself.
"We took a gamble on Louis, undoubtedly," admitted the Everton manager. "He had been injury-prone but we had a situation where we had to take a gamble because we didn't have any money to buy a centre-forward. Louis at that time was available and it was a risk, not because of his ability but because of his injuries. We had to decide whether it was an on-going problem at this stage of his career and Louis convinced me that it wasn't and he's gone on to prove that. He's a highly-strung athlete who wants to be at his best, wants to feel his best and because of that sometimes he doesn't quite make it for games but he's been very good for us."
Saha has been among the most consistent performers in an Everton team that, once again, began the season with the strength and balance of a new-born foal. The 31-year-old has nine goals from 14 games in all competitions and has enjoyed a clean bill of health in comparison to many in Moyes' squad. That productive combination has attracted interest from outside, with Besiktas linked, and Everton intend to open discussions on an extension – Saha signed a two-year contract with the option of a third – in the new year. "I don't think we are ready to discuss that at the moment" is Moyes' take on the contract situation.
The Everton manager was less circumspect on the talent at his disposal, however. "I don't think he's got anything to prove to United. I think everybody at Manchester United would probably admit that Louis Saha was a match for any player there with the talent and ability he's got. I'm still relatively young but he's certainly in the top two maybe three players I've worked with. He's got some unbelievable ability as a football player, incredible."
Moyes dismissed out of hand the suggestion that United allowed Saha to leave too quickly and the Old Trafford fanzine writers who christened the striker Balsa Man can vouch for Ferguson's patience. Saha started only 52 league games for United and, had he stayed fit, he would still be at a club that is trying to replace the goals lost when Cristiano Ronaldo left for Real Madrid.
Ferguson admitted yesterday: "He is more consistently free of injury than he had been at Manchester United. We would not have sold him had he been a regular performer for us. Unfortunately, for Louis and for us, he was always injured. It happens that way sometimes. I remember we took Viv Anderson from Arsenal. I looked at his playing record and he hadn't missed a game in four years, other than through suspension, but he was never fit at United. Then he left to go to Sheffield Wednesday at the tail-end of his career and he played for two-and-a-half years without injury. Sod's law."
Moyes is yet to win at Old Trafford as Everton manager and tonight's encounter, while an opportunity for Saha to remind his former employers of his prowess, allows Ferguson a first-hand sight of Jack Rodwell, the 18-year-old midfielder he has admired since before he broke into the first team at Goodison Park. It is an added headache for the Everton manager, although he is livid at reports the club have received a bid for the England hopeful from Chelsea.
"We have had nothing, no calls, no inquiries, and there is certainly not a bid on the table. You can check my phones, you can come and sit at my desk and have a look, and there has been nothing," Moyes said. "He has a five-year contract and he's very level-headed. There's no point in me turning round and saying he's not for sale, because we said that with [Joleon] Lescott and had to sell in the end. But what I can tell you is – 100% – we have had nothing. I don't doubt he is on other teams' radars but he's on ours and we have had nothing and that's the end of the matter."

Red Devils Pasti Bangkit
Hendra Mujiraharja - Okezone
(hmr)

Everton boss Moyes: Saha has nothing to prove to Man Utd
-tribalfootball.com-
Everton boss David Moyes insists Louis Saha has nothing to prove to Manchester United today.
Saha has been among the most consistent performers at Everton this season.
Moyes said: "I don't think he's got anything to prove to United. I think everybody at Manchester United would probably admit that Louis Saha was a match for any player there with the talent and ability he's got. I'm still relatively young but he's certainly in the top two maybe three players I've worked with. He's got some unbelievable ability as a football player, incredible."
Yakubu: Everton go to Man Utd to win
-tribalfootball.com-
Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni says they can beat Manchester United.
The Toffees go to Old Trafford today and Nigeria international Yakubu says they will play for a win.
"We go to Old Trafford wanting the win," he told evertonfc.com. "We really want to win and we don't want to just sit back and defend as they attack us, but we'll see how it goes.
"Hopefully though we'll get the three points we are looking for."
The 26-year-old frontman hopes Everton will take confidence from their 2-1 win over West Ham last time out, insisting that morale has remained high amongst the squad.
"I am looking forward to facing Manchester United." Yak continued.
"We know we have been struggling with numbers so the win against West Ham was good for us. We are back on track and the spirit is high."

Man United 3 Everton 0
-The Sun-
http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00933/fletcher_scores_682_933794a.jpg
DARREN FLETCHER hit a volley of the highest quality as Man Utd registered an emphatic success over Everton.
The Scotland skipper's goal was only matched by the class of the overall performance of Alex Ferguson's side, as second-half strike from Michael Carrick and Antonio Valencia gave the scoreline a fair reflection.
It lifts United above Arsenal in the table and five points behind Chelsea - who went one better than their Old Trafford rivals by hitting four past Wolves earlier in the day.
United spent most of the first-half peppering the Everton penalty area with crosses and corners without properly penetrating the visitors' defence.
Rafael was booked for trying to haul Saha down and Jack Rodwell curled a shot wide but it was a rare counter-attack by the Merseyside outfit and United took a deserved lead 10 minutes before the break.
Valencia nodded Patrice Evra's deep cross into Fletcher's path and the midfielder - having the season of his career - hit a superb volley that curled past former Red Devils team-mate Tim Howard.
Tim Cahill received a harsh booking for deliberate handball as Everton looked for an immediate reply and Johnny Heitinga sustained a nasty cut following a clash with Nemanja Vidic that left David Moyes enraged at the break.
Marouane Feliani was cautioned for a late tackle on Fletcher and the pressure continued as Howard was forced to race out and turn away a Michael Owen chip that was heading for the far corner.
Yakubu replaced Dan Gosling at the break to try and give Everton some thrust up front and although they crafted more opportunities it also led to more space at the other end.
A neat interchange of passes put Owen through but he was adjudged marginally offside as Howard smothered his shot.
Then Heitinga made space on the edge of the penalty area for a left foot shot but it was easily fielded by Edwin van der Sar.
Owen had another chance on 52 minutes when Valenica was stronger than Distin in the challenge but when the ball broke for the England striker his touch failed him and he was forced wide.
A long passing movement culminated with Owen squaring the ball to Wayne Rooney, whose 25-yard strike clipped the top of the crossbar and Owen was played in again soon after, with Distin sliding across to deflect the finish behind.
However, from the corner Rooney screwed a shot across goal, Ryan Giggs picked it up near the corner flag and pulled it back for Carrick to strike a control finish low into the corner.
Valencia scored a deflected third off Leighton Baines after sub Paul Scholes had slipped the winger through on the right as Everton's resistance visibly wilted.

United Terus Tempel Chelsea

United back to winning ways

MANCHESTER, England (AFP) - An outstanding goal from Darren Fletcher set Manchester United on their way to a 3-0 victory over Everton on Saturday that kept them within five points of league leaders Chelsea.
With Carlo Ancelotti?s side having beaten Wolves earlier, United could ill afford any slips although for long periods it looked as though they would struggle to break Everton down.
But Fletcher's 35th-minute half-volley broke the deadlock before Antonio Valencia and Michael Carrick struck when the game opened up after the break and United ultimately ran out comfortable winners.
United coach Sir Alex Ferguson stated in the build-up to this game that he was growing increasingly concerned by the number of chances his side have failed to take this season.
The Scot's forward options for the visit of Everton were reduced when Dimitar Berbatov was ruled out with a suspected knee problem following his goalscoring appearance for Bulgaria in their mid-week friendly win in Malta.
That meant the United boss paired Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen up front for only the second time this season in the hope that the duo would finally rekindle the understanding they once showed for England.
However, there were precious few signs of the two strikers gelling during a disjointed opening period when the home side struggled to break down the packed Everton defence despite dominating possession.
And while Everton ceded territorial advantage, they comfortably cut out any meaningful supply to Owen and Rooney and the early signs were that this would be a frustrating 90 minutes for Ferguson and his players.
Rooney sliced a half-chance wide in the 14th minute after Fletcher?s excellent pass had released Patrice Evra down the left-hand flank moments before Ryan Giggs sent a low drive tamely wide and Valencia skied over.
Everton offered little as an attacking force with Louis Saha?s snapshot, easily dealt with by Edwin van Der Sar, the sum total of their first-half efforts.
Neither Valencia nor Evra were making much headway down the flanks while Rooney was proving uncharacteristically ineffective through the middle.
United needed a spark of inspiration from somewhere and it came in the 35th minute when Fletcher capped his excellent work in midfield with a superbly controlled finish that gave visiting keeper Tim Howard no chance.
The opening arose after Evra had worked his way forward on United's left flank before directing a deep cross towards the far post where Valencia laid off a cushioned header into the path of Fletcher, who struck the bouncing ball into the top-left corner from the edge of the area.
Everton opened up after the break but their hopes of a comeback disappeared in the 67th minute when Carrick collected a pass from Giggs and drilled a low shot beyond Howard.
The Merseysiders were then forced to chase the game, and Valencia sealed a home victory when he broke into the box and saw his shot deflect off Leighton Baines and into the goal with 14 minutes remaining.

Boss pleased with patient Reds

Sir Alex Ferguson praised his players' patience and persistence in wearing down Everton to eventually claim a comfortable and impressive 3-0 victory.
The Reds rarely looked out of control in the match, with first goalscorer Darren Fletcher epitomising United's energy and industry.
"I was pleased," Sir Alex told ESPN. "It was a controlled performance. We showed a lot of patience, particularly in the first half when we were trying to open them up. Fortunately we got the first goal at the right time."
United had to weather a spell of Everton pressure after the break as the robust Yukubu added yet further strength to the Toffees attack. But the Reds withstood that period and Michael Carrick soon struck United's second goal.
"They made a change, bringing Yukubu on and going direct," added the boss. "They have a lot of power and height up front which you have to handle. But the second goal put us in the comfort zone and from then on I didn't think we could lose it."
With United back up to second spot above Arsenal and keeping the pressure up on Chelsea, Sir Alex wants to see his side kick on and mount a long winning run to tee up the usual title push in the New Year.
"That's the name of the game for us [to kick on now]," the boss said. "I stand by the view that if we get to New Year within a point, in front or round about the leaders, we have a big chance in the second half of the season."

Flecther bener-bener dah.
Badannya yg cungkring kayaknya kudu diperkuar lagi. Postur sih sama kaya Evra, tp kekuatannya kudu digenjot lagi.
Menang 3-0 tentu hasil menggembirakan. Yang lebih sempurna adalah kita berhasil clean-sheet. Ini sesuatu yang pantas dirayakan.

Fergie: Now we mean business
Published: 21 Nov 2009
ALEX FERGUSON sounded a battle cry to his stars, roaring: Our title charge starts here.
Fergie saw his Manchester United side rip Everton apart, pounding the Toffees 3-0.
The win moves United up to second, five points behind rivals Chelsea.
And the Old Trafford boss wants his men to storm the top of the table by New Year's Day.
He said: "We have to look at all the games as must-win now.
"We need to get on a run and be somewhere near the top of the league by New Year's Day.
"Then, in the second half of the season we can have a real go and give ourselves a chance."
Darren Fletcher opened the scoring with a glorious volley.
And even Fergie was stunned by the quality of the midfielder's finish.
He added: "Darren is an improving player.
"Each year we have seen his performance level go up and up and it is still doing so.
"But I have to admit I did not expect that goal. It was really well taken."

MU Canangkan Misi Sapu Bersih

Manchester - Konsentrasi Manchester United kini fokus di Liga Primer. Begitulah menurut pandangan bek Patrice Evra.
Hingga akhir tahun, MU masih memiliki kewajiban menjalani tujuh laga Premier League. Lawan-lawan yang harus dihadapi adalah Portsmouth, West Ham, Aston Villa, Wolverhampton, Fulham, Hull City, dan Wigan Athletic.

MU Solid di Belakang, Fergie Senang

Manchester - Kemenangan Manchester United atas Everton bikin 'Setan Merah' terus menekan Chelsea.
Skor 3-0 dicatatkan MU atas Everton, Minggu (22/11/2009). Tiga gol dibuat oleh Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick dan Antonio Valencia, dengan nama pertama mengundang pujian khusus dari Manajer MU Sir Alex Ferguson setelah bikin gol voli dahsyat.
"Darren semakin berkembang.
