Dunga announces his squad to face England next month.
The Brazil squad which will face England in Qatar next month has been named, with the Three Lions set to go head-to-head with several of their star names during the friendly game in Doha.

Brazil Head Coach Dunga has named a 24-man party for the game at the Khalifa International Stadium and it includes most of the recognisable Brazilian names you would expect, as well as a number of Brazil's English-based players.

The likes of Manchester City's Robinho and Liverpool duo Fábio Aurélio and Lucas are all included in the squad, whilst players such as Real Madrid's Kaká and Barcelona's Daniel Alves are named as Dunga picks a squad which are all based with European clubs.

The Squad

Julio Cesar (Internazionale), Doni (Roma), Maicon (Internazionale), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Luisão (Benfica), Lúcio (Internazionale), Juan (Roma), Naldo (Werder Bremen), Fábio Aurélio (Liverpool), Michel Bastos (Lyon), Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos), Josué (Wolfsburg), Lucas (Liverpool), Felipe Mello (Juventus), Alex (Spartak Moscow), Julio Baptista (Roma), Ramires (Benfica), Elano (Galatasaray), Kaká (Real Madrid), Carlos Eduardo (Hoffenheim), Robinho (Manchester City), Luís Fabiano (Sevilla), Nilmar (Villareal), Hulk (Porto).

A look back at previous encounters with the Brazilians.

Over the years the Brazilians have proved to be the toughest opposition of all for The Three Lions. England have beaten them just three times in 22 attempts.

England v Brazil is the classic World Cup pairing and we have faced them four times in the competition. The first clash came in Sweden in 1958 when we drew our second group match 0-0 for the first goalless match in World Cup Finals history. Billy Wright was England’s captain and Bobby Robson played at inside-right. We went out of the competition in a group play-off; Brazil went on to win the trophy for the first time, inspired by the precocious Pele. (It is commonly thought that his nickname derives from pelada, the Portuguese word for ‘kickabout’.)

Four years later in Chile we met the Brazilians again, this time in a quarter-final in a misty Vina del Mar. Early in the match an excitable dog ran around amongst the players and was grabbed by Jimmy Greaves. ‘Little Bird’ Garrincha headed Brazil in front but Gerry Hitchens, who had joined Inter Milan from Aston Villa, equalised before half-time. A Vava header and a 25-yard swerver from Garrincha won the match 3-1 for Brazil and they retained the trophy a week later.

Our third World Cup meeting with the five-time winners of the competition took place in unbearably hot Guadalajara during the Mexico Finals of 1970. At the start of the tournament many people were betting on an England v Brazil Final, with Sir Alf Ramsey’s squad generally thought to be even stronger than the one in 1966. The two teams squared up in the second match of the group stage and it is still regarded as one of the greatest World Cup matches ever played.

Brazil had brilliant players in Pele, Jairzinho, Rivelino, Tostao and Carlos Alberto. We still had our world-class performers from ’66: Gordon Banks, Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton. And we had Geoff Hurst, our hat-trick hero in the Final. Pele shouted ‘Gol!’ when he headed Jairzinho’s cross towards the unguarded corner of England’s goal on 11 minutes. The great ‘Banksie’ made a save that almost defied the laws of physics, flipping the ball over the bar with his right hand at full stretch. But Brazil squeezed a 1-0 victory through Jairzinho’s goal on the hour. They went on to lift the trophy once more.

And again in 2002, after England’s World Cup adventure had ended at the quarter-final stage on a hot afternoon in Shizuoka. England’s early strategy of getting in behind the Brazilian full-backs worked brilliantly, Michael Owen giving us a priceless lead on 23 minutes, but goals from Rivaldo and Ronaldinho either side of half-time put Brazil in the semis. David Seaman, probably still affected by a first-half back injury, was beaten freakishly by a Ronaldinho free-kick from the right wing that had at first looked to be poorly aimed.

Our three victories over Brazil have all occurred in friendlies. We won 4-2 at Wembley in 1956 in the first ever match between the teams. Tommy Taylor and Colin Grainger each scored twice for England before a full house of 100,000. We had lost disappointingly to the USSR at Wembley early in June 1984 and just eight days later had the daunting task of taking on Brazil in the Maracana in the opening fixture of a South American tour. The Brazilians, who hadn’t lost at their world-famous stadium for 27 years, were said to be ‘on a different planet’ to Bobby Robson’s side. But a sensational goal from John Barnes, dribbling past the whole home defence, and a majestic Mark Hateley header won the match 2-0 for England.

We won again in 1990, 1-0 in a Wembley friendly in front of 80,000. It was a great confidence booster for England, beating mighty Brazil with only 70 days to go before the World Cup Finals in Italy. The visitors showed from the start that they possessed all their traditional skills but, on the night, England’s central defensive partnership of Des Walker and Terry Butcher was outstanding. They kept Bebeto, Careca and the rest at bay and Gary Lineker stooped to head the ball past Taffarel on 37 minutes to grab the winner and equal the 30-goal total of Lofthouse and Finney.

Our complete record against Brazil is played 22, won 3, drawn 9 and lost 10.

The last match, a 2007 friendly and the first full international at the new Wembley, finished 1-1. John Terry headed home a David Beckham free-kick on 68 minutes and Diego equalised with another header in the third minute of stoppage time.

Terry injury could see Rooney captain England
-sport.co.uk-

http://www.sport.co.uk/public/images_news/RooneyEngland.jpg

Chelsea captain John Terry is set to be ruled out of England’s game with Brazil tomorrow as Fabio Capello’s injury crisis deepened. According to the Daily Mail the defender was injured blocking a shot from Tottenham’s Jermaine Jenas which resulted in a swollen ankle, and should he play no part tomorrow, Capello could hand Manchester United star Wayne Rooney the captain’s armband. England are already without a glut of their players including Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard, David Beckham, Ashley Cole, Emile Heskey and David James.

The Daily Mail claim the 24-year-olkd striker is the most likely candidate to be handed Terry’s armband for tomorrow’s game in the Middle East.

The newspaper claims England’s medical team are yet to make a final decision on Terry, but initial reports suggest he is almost certainly out of the match tomorrow.

Kayaknya skuad Brazil sekarang udah gak sehebat skuad Brazil sebelumnya deh. Bukan begitu ? Hehehe ...

Brown keen to make his mark
-fourfourtwo.com-

http://cdn.fourfourtwo.com/contentimages/news/Brown_England.jpg

Manchester United defender Wes Brown says he is hoping to take advantage of Liverpool counterpart Glen Johnson’s absence to reignite his hopes of being part of Fabio Capello’s World Cup squad.

Brown has not featured in a Three Lions shirt for over a year and has found opportunities to regain his place limited due to Johnson establishing himself as Capello’s first choice right-back.

The Liverpool defender has started the last 11 England games, but misses Saturday’s friendly with Brazil in Doha due to injury.

“Glen has come in and done brilliantly with England and that’s why he’s playing at the moment,” Brown told the FA’s official website.

“He has shown great ability and I think it was a great move for him to go to Liverpool and he has played well all season.

“He’s shown that if you’re playing well, you’ll get picked, and I’ve got to follow that example and hopefully stay in this squad.”

After making his England debut in 1999, Brown started seven of the first nine matches under Capello’s reign but has failed to add to the 21 caps under his belt since his last appearance in October 2008.

But following Luke Young’s decision to retire from international football, Brown is in pole position to make his long-awaited return to the England scene as Capello’s side pit their wits against the five-time World Cup winners.

“For myself I need to stay 100 percent fit and, with that, I need to play well when I get a chance," he said.

“That’s all I’m looking for this season. When I get the chance I’ve got to take it, and hopefully I can help the team as a result.

“During World Cup year, I think it’s always in the back of your mind if you’re playing well, then you’ll keep getting selected which is every player’s aim this season.

“It’s great that England are in another World Cup and I’m sure, if you ask all the lads, they’ll just be thinking about staying fit and hopefully getting selected for the squad next summer.

The 30-year-old has been featuring at the heart of the United defence in the absence of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

And Brown is now hoping he can force his way into the reckoning for a place in the all-important World Cup squad and transfer the form he has shown for his club onto the international stage.

“It’s always good in terms of your fitness to be playing games regularly. I’ve played the last few games for United and coming into England now that’s great confidence boost," he added.

“Hopefully against Brazil, I might play a part. At the moment I’m really enjoying my football and I’m playing games so it’s good for me right now."

Wayne Rooney set to captain England if John Terry fails fitness test
-mirrorfootball.com-

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/match-centre/article219653.ece/ALTERNATES/gallery-large/Wayne+Rooney.jpeg

Wayne Rooney is poised to captain England for the first time against Brazil tomorrow - after Fabio Capello faced losing normal skipper John Terry.

Chelsea captain Terry picked up an ankle injury in training in Doha and will not be risked unless he is 100 per cent fit.

And Capello said he will hand Rooney the armband against the World Cup favourites.

Capello said: "I hope John Terry will be fit.

"The doctors told me they are confident he will recover.

"But if he is not 100 per cent he will not play.

"If John Terry is not fit, the captain will be Rooney.

"For me it's an easy decision. It will be Rooney.

"Why not? Why are you smiling?

"Rooney will be a very good captain."

Rooney Siap Gantikan Terry Jadi Kapten
Reky Herling Kalumata - detiksport

http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/14/73/rooney-isi.jpg

Capello surprisingly selected Ben Foster in goal ahead of Robert Green.

England 0 Brazil 1: match report
-telegraph.co.uk-

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01523/nilmar_1523206c.jpg

England suffered another friendly defeat under Fabio Capello as Nilmar gave Brazil a deserved victory in Doha.

Ben Foster was beaten by a fine looping header after Elano's pass picked out Nilmar shortly after the break. In a game low on incident – and real quality – England's under-strength side enjoyed some bright spells but it was the Brazilians who grew stronger as the game went on.

England were fortunate to escape further punishment when Luis Fabiano blazed over from the penalty spot. Foster could easily have been dismissed for hauling down Nilmar, who won possession inside the England area after Wes Brown was blindsided.

But Foster escaped with a caution and Fabiano surprisingly failed to test the Manchester United 'keeper from the spot.

Wayne Rooney, England's captain in the absence of John Terry, showed his class throughout but his strike partner Darren Bent was an isolated figure.

James Milner impressed with his desire, but England's makeshift side rarely threatened Dunga's men, who coped better with the hot conditions.

"Brazil were the better team and deserved to win," said Rooney. "We're disappointed with the goal and the result. They moved the ball really well and make you chase it. We're better than we showed tonight and thankfully it's only a friendly. I'll treasure the captaincy but ultimately I'm disappointed with the night."

Brazil too strong for Capello's England
-timesonline.co.uk-

A second-string England side struggled in the heat of Doha, falling to a single-goal defeat against Brazil.

Striker Nilmar struck less than two minutes after the restart to settle a tie played in the Khalifa International Stadium in Qatar.

The closest England came to scoring was a side-footed volley over the crossbar midway through the second half in a game in which Brazil looked by far the most dangerous team.

England were spared losing by more when Luis Fabiano missed a second-half penalty after Nilmar was brought down by Ben Foster when through on goal in the wake of the Brazil striker capitalising on an error from Wes Brown.

England striker Wayne Rooney's first game as captain ended in a disappointing defeat in one of only a handful of international fixtures left before the World Cup in South Africa next year.

Captain Rooney unable to lift inexperienced, uninspired England
-guardian.co.uk-

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2009/11/14/1258223545373/Wayne-Rooney-001.jpg

Wayne Rooney may prove to be a great leader on the pitch, but his opportunities were limited against a dominant Brazil.

Wayne Rooney seldom suffers from apathy on a football pitch. The opportunity to be captain in Doha seemed to make him particularly animated, although frustration then gripped him even more quickly than usual. He had a craving to leave his mark on a game where the play was sometimes perfunctory, but this was one of his weaker outings for England.

The responsibilities that accompany the armband looked excessive for someone who expects so much of himself even when he is not an office-bearer. It was, after all, frustration that caused a sending-off at the 2006 World Cup when, as a lone forward, Rooney stamped on Ricardo Carvalho while the Portuguese was marking him claustrophobically.

Rooney, of course, has matured greatly since then. As the youthful shyness evaporated, he has emerged as a candid and even self-analytical person, especially last week when dismissing the idea that he should be considered world class. England may depend on him, but it appeared in Doha that he should lead by example rather than through captaincy.

There was plenty to test his self-control even before Brazil took the lead. He was rightly exasperated, for instance, when refused a free-kick as Thiago fouled him on the edge of the penalty area in the 36th minute. Rooney is best equipped to galvanise a team through skill rather than by undertaking quasi-managerial duties.

He had enough on his mind as it was in Doha. There is a diligence to him and the calibre of the opposition diminished his impact when he was not so much a deep-lying attacker as the first of the midfield troop striving to get in Brazil's way. Rooney was handicapped and got no response from Darren Bent, the first man to be substituted. Of course, he was in a line-up composed largely of fringe players.

The problem for Rooney and each of his team-mates was also the calibre of their opponents. Brazil's holding midfielders Thiago and Gilberto da Silva are well qualified to stifle. If England held any advantage at all, it lay in the comparative passivity of their adversaries once they were ahead. Even so, Luis Fabiano squandered a penalty and Lucio hit the post.

Brazil were always more authoritative in possession, as the side ranked No1 in the world ought to be. A shadow England side were unable to disrupt them and, as with the defeat by Spain, the inferiority of the losers' technique was indisputable. Rooney can make up some of that deficit, but he will do better if he is asked to inspire team-mates rather than manage them.

Rooney respect for Brazil display
-www.fifa.com-

England's stand-in captain Wayne Rooney conceded Brazil were the better team in the pair's 1-0 friendly defeat in Qatar, while admitting that the defeat still hurt.

The Manchester United striker was handed the armband in the absence of the injured John Terry but could not inspire Fabio Capello's injury-hit side against the five-time FIFA World Cup™ winners.

Nilmar's 47th-minute header proved the difference between the two teams. And the Villarreal front-runner also won a penalty after being brought down by goalkeeper Ben Foster, which was subsquently blazed over by Luis Fabiano.

"It was a difficult game for us. Brazil were the better team and deserved to win," said Rooney. "Brazil move the ball really well and make you chase it, which is really hard to do for 90 minutes."

"We should have put more pressure on the first ball (for the goal). I'm not sure how he (Nilmar) has got in between the defence. We are looking to improve. Thankfully it is only a friendly but it is always difficult to take a defeat."

Meanwhile, coach Capello felt England would have put in a better performance had they been able to call upon their first-choice line-up.

Missing from the team in Qatar were goalkeeper David James, defenders Glen Johnson, Terry, Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole, midfielders Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard and striker Emile Heskey.

"I think we played against a Brazil team who have the best 11 in the world. My first 11 will be better than this one. But I found a lot of things positive," said the experienced Italian. "I understand the value of some of the players I was checking on in this game to see how they play against teams like this."

"We did some things well but it is very difficult to play against Brazil. They defended very well and against them it is difficult to create chances. The way we played in the first half was good enough but after the goal we lost position on the pitch."

Captain Rooney bekerja sendirian d lini depan Inggris ....
Lini tengah The Three Lions kurang tenaga akibat absennya Gerrard dan Lampard .....

Inggris , sayang sekali , hanya berpredikat sebagai tim penantang juara ..... but anything can happen in South Africa next year

Boys from Brazil prove Fabio's understudies have lot to learn

Brazil 1 England 0: Questionable enterprise provides little insight for Capello as captain Rooney fails to inspire side

Unused to playing to a largely shirt-sleeved crowd on a mid-November night, a depleted England got what was coming and set off on the seven-hour flight home grateful the damage was no worse. It would have been, but for a shocking penalty miss by Luis Fabiano after Ben Foster, playing in goal in preference to Robert Green, should have been sent off. Brazil, joint favourites with Spain to win the World Cup, may claim to have gained a psychological advantage over a side the bookmakers rate not far behind them, but for all their fluid play it would be wrong to read too much into what was probably the most low-key of the 23 meetings between the countries.

The game was played in sultry rather than searing heat but conditions still seemed to take an awful lot out of England's players in particular. Brazil's, although more used to it, were happy to play at a slow tempo with an occasional spurt. At one moment after half an hour, both sides were strung out down the pitch like Sunday morning park teams, apparently lacking either the legs or inclination to follow the ball. It was unlike anything either side will face in the South African winter in June, which raised another question about the wisdom of agreeing to the fixture at this venue.

Fabio Capello has been keen to test his men against strong opposition, but he continued losing players right up to the day of the game. Manchester United's Michael Carrick was the last to drop out, with an ankle injury, offering a chance to Jermaine Jenas for the first time in 14 months. Jenas was one of many who failed to grasp it, Wes Brown also wasting the opportunity to establish himself as Glen Johnson's deputy at right-back and leaving the manager awaiting Owen Hargreaves' comeback almost as eagerly as Sir Alex Ferguson.

In similar circumstances exactly a year ago, a patched-up side achieved a notable 2-1 win over Germany in Berlin, when John Terry scored a late winning goal. Here the whole of the regular back five was absent, Terry included, which meant Wayne Rooney, taking the captain's armband for the first time, and Gareth Barry were the only first-choice players available.

Capello surprisingly kept his substitutions to a minimum for 80 minutes, even though several players looked as if they would have welcomed a rest. Brazil were not at full strength either, though their list of absentees – including Robinho, Pato, Luisao, Melo and Fabio Aurelio – hardly compared to England's, at least in numbers. In their periodic shifts from the beautiful game to a more Eurocentric style, Brazil have been in a pragmatic phase under Dunga, who replaced Carlos Alberto Parreira after an underwhelming effort at the 2006 World Cup.

After a spectacular light show before kick-off the football was dull in the extreme. Once Gilberto Silva, Felipe Melo and Kaka started playing little triangles in midfield, England were resigned to chasing the ball while they were still physically capable of it. Until taking the lead in the 47th minute, Brazil's end product nevertheless amounted to little more than one real chance.

Midway through the first half, an effortless move flowed through Kaka to Michel Bastos, the debutant left-back, who slashed a shot low and beyond the far post. There was one early slip by Matthew Upson, not used to being the senior central defender, conceding possession out by the touchline to the outstanding Nilmar, but Joleon Lescott, not for the last time, was well placed to cut out the cross. No fantasy or wizardry was required to score right at the start of the second half, just a straightforward diagonal ball forward from Elano.

It bisected Upson and the increasingly unhappy Brown, both of whom had allowed Nilmar to sneak behind them, from where he directed a clever header past Foster. For England the early promise engendered by Shaun Wright-Phillips' testing cross, just too far ahead of Rooney, faded. Darren Bent wanted the ball delivered earlier and therefore tended to run offside; he had one scoring chance, a stretching header placed wide from James Milner's cross in the 54 minutes he was allowed before Jermain Defoe replaced him as England's first change.

A minute after that Brazil should have added to their lead. Brown's back-header was far too short for his United colleague Foster, who brought down Nilmar. He ought to have become the second England goalkeeper sent off in three games but the Qatari referee, generously entering the spirit of the occasion, decided a yellow card should suffice. Fabiano leant back and clipped the penalty high over the bar.

With nine outfield players against this opposition in such conditions, England would have been overrun. Instead they might have made a game of it had Milner not volleyed too high from Wright-Phillips' centre. There was no turning the tide, however, and 12 minutes from time Lucio, the defensive giant and captain, strode forward again and shuddered a post from 20 yards.

It all emphasised how well founded are Capello's fears about just how many players he will have in top condition by the end of the English season.

Attendance: 50,000

Referee: Abdulrahman Abdou (Qatar)

Man of the match: Nilmar

Match rating: 5/10

Man for man marking: England

Ben Foster 6/10

The customary experience for an England goalkeeper of being left hideously exposed by the men in front of him. Hence he could do little to prevent the goal and gave away a penalty after Brown's poor effort at a backpass.

Wes Brown 4/10

Had a torrid afternoon against Nilmar and can now start to plan his 2010 summer holidays. He never got to grips with the speedy winger, lost possession too easily and in chesting the ball back to his goalkeeper presented Nilmar with a chance, ended by Foster's foul.

Matthew Upson 6/10

With injuries to John Terry and Rio Ferdinand in recent internationals, the West Ham centre-back has become something of a regular for Capello, and after an early mistake formed a decent partnership with Lescott.

Joleon Lescott 6/10

Looked uncertain in recent internationals and is taking time to settle at Manchester City but made a steadier contribution here with good blocks and interceptions.

Wayne Bridge 6/10

Keen to establish himself as Ashley Cole's cover at left-back and did well enough in the first half but tired in the conditions during the second. Just about good enough as an able second choice against a side who never reached top gear.

Shaun Wright-Phillips 4/10

After another stuttering, ineffective performance the Manchester City winger can join Brown in the queue at the travel agents. Was kept quiet by Bastos with some ease.

Jermaine Jenas 4/10

An opportunity spurned by the Tottenham midfielder who was far too invisible and seemed content to let the senior players shoulder the responsilibility while contributing little in attack.

Gareth Barry 6/10

As the senior – and apparently lone – central midfielder the Manchester City man worked tirelessly to get England's attack moving but to no avail. Harassed Kaka and Co but needed help in England's lightweight midfield. With the return of some senior players his place should be secure.

James Milner 7/10

The Aston Villa winger has looked an increasingly good international option on the left wing to Joe Cole and Stewart Downing and again did his prospects no harm at all with an enthusiastic and energetic performance that was only betrayed by some poor crossing from the left. Combined well and was one of the few England players with reason to be satisfied with his 90 minutes' work.

Wayne Rooney 6/10

Captain in place of the injured John Terry, the Manchester United striker was hampered by a lack of service but it might have been different if he had connected with an early cross from Wright-Phillips. But he missed the chance and subsequently so did several of his team-mates. Thereafter he drifted in and out of the match and began to look frustrated but managed to keep a lid on that volatile temper. The responsibility of parenthood and captaincy perhaps?

Darren Bent 4/10

Has not moved ahead of Emile Heskey or Carlton Cole on the evidence of 54 minutes of running and not for the first time he did not look a genuine international player. Granted, the Sunderland striker did not have the best of service, but to take his chance he needed to go a-hunting for the ball and opportunities more eagerly.

Substitutes

Jermain Defoe Replaced Bent after 54 minutes but made no impression whatsoever.

Peter Crouch Came on for Wright-Phillips but his height did not disturb the Brazilians' defence.

Tom Huddlestone Replaced Barry, who had done the work of two. Did nothing in the few minutes allotted him to suggest he is ready for the full international stage.

Ashley Young One Villa winger replaced another when he came on for Milner with little more than five minutes of normal time remaining. In view of the work put in by other young pretenders, Young probably had the better deal.

Man for man marking: Brazil

Julio Cesar 6/10

The Internazionale goalkeeper was rarely tested by England's sporadic pressure and was mostly content to watch shots and headers go high and wide.

Maicon 7/10

A reported target for Chelsea and Manchester City, the Inter full-back had a couple of interesting tussles with Milner as he guarded Brazil's right. Unexpectedly, not as adventurous as his opposite number.

Lucio 7/10

Had a solid match, brightened by a first-half foray that almost reached the halfway line, and a second-half shot from 25 yards that shuddered Foster's left-hand post with the goalkeeper beaten. Kept Bent and Defoe quiet.

Thiago da Silva 6/10

His partnership with Lucio in the centre of defence was never subjected to sustained pressure, but he coped well enough with the small brief flurries of activity that England possession brought.

Michel Bastos 7/10

Not afraid to make progress deep into the opposition's half, as we expect of a Brazilian left-back, the Lyon player flashed one shot past Foster's far post and, after Wright-Phillips' cross in the opening seconds, kept his flank shut tight.

Gilberto Silva 7/10

An important cog in Dunga's organisation, the 33-year-old former Arsenal midfielder won his 84th cap with a typically pragmatic performance, protecting his back four diligently while lurking behind the attacks ready to regain possession.

Felipe Melo 7/10

Was expected to miss out through injury but passed fit to share Gilberto's role as holding midfielder and had a quietly effective match.

Kaka 7/10

Burst dangerously through the centre several times but his threat was kept to a minimum by Barry and Jenas. The Real Madrid midfielder did indeed look like a player struggling to find his role at club level.

Elano 7/10

Delivered the conclusive pass of the contest when he perfectly picked out the inviting space between Brown and Upson into which Nilmar ran to head in Brazil's goal.

Nilmar 8/10

The left-winger's explosive pace and close control was a regular source of trouble to Brown and he used that control to drift in from the wing to head Brazil's winning goal and later to win a penalty which...

Luis Fabiano 7/10

...missed – the only blot on the striker's otherwise impressively skilful and muscular performance. Substituted after a clash of heads.

Substitutes

Dani Alves On for Elano after 64 minutes

Hulk Replaced Fabiano after 66 minutes.

Julio Baptista On for Kaka after 81 minutes.

Carlos Eduardo Replaced Nilmar after 81 minutes.
