Desember, bulan sibuk bagi team-team Inggris, apalagi nyang ngikut juga di kompetisi Eropa, rata-rata seminggu 2 kali nih harus tampil di lapangan hijau, strategi taktik stamina rotasi injury list deep skuad, bener-bener jadi perhatian tiap pelatih nih ..., that's the risk
tidak ada alasan untuk mengeluh, meski lawan bisa jadi lebih fresh dan tidak harus mengistirahatkan pemain2x kuncinya

sebelum melawat ke Boleyn Ground, United terlebih dahulu harus menerima kedatangan pasukan the Lily white, spurs di 16 besar Carling, sedangkan setelah melawan the Hammers, pasukan Opa Alex kudu terbang ke Jerman menghadapi serigala2x jerman, Wolfsburg, di laga terakhir UCL fase group. Sedangkan West Ham tidak ada jadwal di kedua laga mid week tersebut.

West Ham yang kini ditangani pelatih asal Italy, Zola, untuk sementara masih berkutat di papan bawah klasemen, berada di peringkat 17 dengan 14 point dari hasil 3 W 5 D 6 L. tentunya mereka akan berjuang mati-matian untuk meraup setiap point yang ada guna dapat terus merangsek ke zona aman, apalagi kali ini mereka bermain di kandang sendiri.

Sedangkan United tentunya juga harus mencanangkan mencuri point penuh dari the Hammer untuk tetep menjaga peluang meraih gelar ke juara musim ini dengan menempel ketat Chelsea yg masih berada di pucuk pimpinan klasemen.

Kandang the hammer terbukti tidak bersahabat dengan United, rekor United tidak bagus di sini, perlu extra hati-hati nih. maen wajar n normal aja mestinya United bisa mengatasi West Ham, sekarang tinggal faktor non teknis nih ...., let's wait 'n see

walaupun MU lebih diunggulkan tapi tetap harus waspada, apalagi minggu lalu West Ham mengalahkan Burnley 5-3 & sempat unggul 5-0. walaupun MU beda ama Burnley tp tetap saja eurofia West Ham harus diwaspadai. di Carling kmrn opa menyimpan bbrp pemain inti sehingga nanti formasi berisikan pemain yg lebih fit. semoga kemenangan atas TTH bisa berlanjut lawan West Ham nanti.

Manchester United will be boosted by the return of Edwin van der Sar for Saturday’s Premier League clash at West Ham United.

The Dutch goalkeeper missed the Carling Cup win against Tottenham in midweek, but still sidelined are John O’Shea, Jonny Evans and Rio Ferdinand.

“Rio is progressing with his treatment,” Mike Phelan told the club’s official site.

“He’s as optimistic as he can be. We haven’t set a target for him to be back yet. We just need to make sure that when he is back, he is available for the rest of the season.

“We still have a problem with Evans and O’Shea. Jonny’s calf is responding slowly to treatment, while John is still suffering from a dead leg that doesn’t seem to be improving as quickly as we expected.

“We’ve got Edwin back though - he’s been training and is available along with the other goalkeepers.”

West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola is confident the loss of Carlton Cole to injury will not derail his side as they look to maintain their strong recent run with victory over Manchester United.

Zola revealed on Friday that England striker Cole is likely to be out of action until the end of January with the knee ligament injury sustained in the Hammers' 5-3 win against Burnley last weekend.

Cole, 26, is the club's top scorer in the league this season with seven goals and West Ham will now be relying on Mexico striker Guillermo Franco, as well as fellow forwards Zavon Hines and the fit-again Alessandro Diamanti, to hit the net over the festive period and into 2010.

Zola has seen confidence return to his side, who have climbed out of the Barclays Premier League relegation zone after losing just one of their last six league matches. And the Italian is backing them to overcome the absence of the talismanic Cole, arguably the team's key player, when title-chasing United visit Upton Park.

"I see this as an opportunity now to find other ways to keep the goals coming, starting from tomorrow," said Zola

"I think we'll like finding other solutions. And what's encouraging as that in the last few games against the top teams, we've done well and they've been close games."

LONDON, KOMPAS.com - Manchester United (MU) berhasil mempecundangi West Ham United 4-0 dalam lanjutan Premier League, di Stadion Upton Park, Sabtu (5/12). Kemenangan ini membuat "Setan Merah" kokoh di peringkat kedua dengan 34 angka sekaligus mengancam pemuncak klasemen Chelsea yang mengumpulkan poin 36.

"The Blues" sendiri baru menjalani laga selepas pertandingan ini. Mereka akan berhadapan dengan Manchester City.

Bertandang ke Stadion Upton Park, markas West Ham United, pasukan Sir Alex Ferguson terus menekan agar memperpendek jaraknya dari pemuncak klasemen, Chelsea. Saat ini, "Setan Merah" terpaut lima angka dari "The Blues". Namun, bagi MU tidak mudah mengalahkan "The Hammers" di kandangnya. Sebelumnya, MU hanya meraih dua kemenangan dan sekali kalah di Upton Park.

Meski begitu, MU tak ingin putus asa. Sejak menit-menit awal, MU langsung tampil mendobrak. Pada 15 menit pertama, MU terlihat kesulitan untuk menembus lini pertahanan "The Hammers". Serangan yang dibangun dari lini tengah kerap dipatahkan barisan pertahanan tim tuan rumah. Sadar akan hal itu, MU mencoba menyerang dari sektor kiri yang dikomandoi oleh Ryan Giggs. Sayangnya beberapa kali penetrasinya dipatahakan bek West Ham United.

Pada menit ke-10, MU malah nyaris kebobolan. Beruntung tembakan Zavon Hiner masih melebar. Dua menit kemudian, MU membalasnya. Giggs yang melepaskan umpan sepak pojok, langsung disambut Antonio Valencia dengan kepalanya. Sial, bola masih melayang di atas gawang Robert Green.

Alotnya lini pertahanan West Ham memaksa MU melepaskan tembakan dari luar kotak penalti. Namun, Green berhasil mematahkan tembakan-tembakan Wayne Ronney dkk. Green berhasil memblok tendangan Darron Gibson dan Anderson pada menit ke-17 dan 18.

MU masih kesulitan mencari ruang. Disiplinnya pertahanan tim tuan rumah membuat MU agak frustrasi. Mereka sama sekali tidak kompromi dan memberikan kesempatan bagi MU untuk lama menguasai bola. Meski begitu, MU berhasil menekan di masa injury time. Sebuah tendangan keras Paul Scholes tak mampu dibendung Green. MU pun unggul 1-0.

Pada awal babak kedua, MU langsung tampil menghentak. MU nyaris unggul andai saja tembakan Rooney tak meleset. Meski begitu, West Ham United masih memberikan perlawanan. Bahkan, James Tomkins nyaris mencetak gol balasan. Menerima umpang silang Alessandro Diamanti, Tomkins menyambar bola dengan kepalanya. Beruntung, Kuszczak sigap mengamankan bola.

Hal ini melecut emosi MU. Tanpa henti mereka menyerang pertahanan tim tuan rumah. Alhasil, Darron Gibson berhasil mencetak gol pada menit ke-61. Gol tercipta kerjasama satu-dua Giggs dengan Rooney. Melakukan penetrasi ke dekat kotak penalti Giggs mengirim umpan pendek kepada Gibson. Tanpa pikir panjang, Gibson melepaskan tendangan keras tanpa bisa dihalau Green sedikitpun.

Gol ini membuat MU tambah galak. Bagaimana tidak, Valencia berhasil menambah pundi-pundi gol MU pada menit ke-70. Menerima umpan silang Anderson di bibir gawang, Valencia langsung menyontek bola dan gol. Dua menit kemudian, giliran Valencia membidani gol Rooney. Valencia yang melakukan tusukan di sektor kiri pertahanan West Ham umpan kepada Rooney. Tanpa pengawalan ketat, Rooney leluasa menceploskan bola.

West Ham sesekali keluar untuk membangun serangan. Junior Stanislas nyaris mengoyak jala Kucszczak jika saja tembakanya tidak meleset. Namun, beberapa kali usaha tersebut tak membuahkan hasil hingga laga usai.

DARRON GIBSON hit another wonder strike as the champions turned on the style.

The midfielder was given his third straight start by Alex Ferguson. And he rewarded his boss by following up his midweek double with the killer second goal as Manchester United kept up the title heat on Chelsea.

Paul Scholes put United on their way with another stunner in first-half injury-time.

Gibson hit a first-time piledriver from 25 yards to make it 2-0.

Antonio Valencia and Wayne Rooney then scored two in two minutes as the champions showed off their class against the struggling Hammers.

United chief Ferguson returned to the touchline for United following his ban. But he was forced to put Darren Fletcher at right-back, with Gary Neville partnering Wes Brown in central defence.

West Ham should have gone ahead in the 10th minute when Zavon Hines picked up a stray pass from Ryan Giggs before surging forward. He crossed for Jack Collison and it looked as though he would break the deadlock before fellow Welshman Giggs managed to get back to scramble the ball clear.

A Gibson shot was blocked by Radoslav Kovac and a rasping Scholes volley was closed out by a mass of Hammers shirts.

Ferguson was hit by more defensive problems on 32 minutes when Neville was forced off with a groin injury. Midfielder Michael Carrick was introduced and faced his former club as a centre-half in a straight swap.

But United kept pressing and the visitors duly grabbed the opener in first-half injury time as Scholes chested the ball past Radoslav Kovac before unleashing a stinging left-footed drive that Rob Green could only palm into his own net.

James Tomkins went close and should have done better after 51 minutes with a header he directed straight at goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

And Gibson sent the Hammers packing on the hour when he smashed home Giggs' square pass.

Kuszczak turned over Alessandro Diamanti's free-kick but Valencia finished off a flowing United move on 71 minutes before Rooney pounced for his 12th of the season a minute later .

Manchester United won comfortably against West Ham United to close the gap on Chelsea to two points at the top of the table but of more concern to Sir Alex Ferguson was the sight of two of his defenders, Gary Neville and Wes Brown, going off injured when he has already an injury crisis in his defensive ranks.

United had dominated the first period but it only took a magnificent left-footed strike from Paul Scholes in first-half stoppage time to break the deadlock.

United doubled the lead when Darron Gibson, the two-goal hero of the Carling Cup quarter-final against Tottenham on Wednesday, scored with another wonderful strike in the 61st minute. Luis Antonio Valencia made the match secure for United in the 71 minute with a close-range strike, despite a hint of offside, and within a minute Wayne Rooney, who had set up the Ecuador player's goal, returned the compliment to score the fourth.

England's goalkeeper situation was made murkier when Robert Green was substituted soon after Rooney's goal with looked like an injury. Uniteed's defensive woes were also worsened when Wes Brown was forced off injured late in the game.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick admitted he was pleased with his side’s performance after they cruised to victory over West Ham United at Upton Park.

The champions sealed all three points courtesy of goals by Paul Scholes, Darron Gibson, Antonio Valencia and Wayne Rooney.

However, it was not all good news for the Red Devils who were forced to field a makeshift back four, including Darren Fletcher and Carrick, and who also saw Gary Neville and Wes Brown forced off with injury.

Speaking to the BBC after the game, Carrick paid tribute to his team and admitted that despite the Hammers’ lowly league position, a trip to Upton Park was always a testing fixture.

“I thought we played quite well to be honest it’s a tough place to come,” explained the England international.

“We were well aware that they’ve not had a great start to the season but we were well aware of the danger they pose and obviously to win like we have is very pleasing considering the amount of injuries and everything we have.”

Carrick also admitted that Scholes’ goal, scored in stoppage time at the end of the first half, had proved crucial and handed United the platform on which to build their emphatic win.

“The goal before half time gave us a great foothold in the game,” he added.

MANCHESTER, KOMPAS.com - Pelatih Manchester United (MU), Alex Ferguson, heran melihat timnya bisa menang 4-0 atas West Ham United, dalam lanjutan Premier League, Sabtu (5/12). Pasalnya, pada pertandingan itu, MU tidak tampil dengan kekuatan terbaik.

Menghadapi West Ham, MU tampil tanpa bek tengah utama. Johnny Evans, Nemanja Vidic, dan Rio Ferdinand dilanda cedera. London - Dua gol dari tendangan jarak jauh menjadi pembangkit semangat Manchester United dalam meraih kemenangan 4-0 atas West Ham. Karena lahir di waktu yang tepat, gol-gol itu punya efek dahsyat.

Nyaris genap 45 menit alias satu babak pertandingan, Sabtu (6/12/2009), MU tak juga mampu menjebol gawang West Ham yang memberikan perlawanan alot. Nyaris, karena menjelang jeda Paul Scholes akhirnya memecah kebuntuan.

Menerima bola hasil halauan kepala bek lawan, Scholes mengecoh pemain yang mengawalnya di tepi kotak penalti dan kemudian melepaskan tembakan keras. Bola melaju kencang, mengenai tangan kiper Robert Green, berbelok arah tapi tetap berakhir dalam gawang.

Menerima bola dari Ryan Giggs, Gibson tak mengontrol bola dan langsung menembakkannya dari luar kotak penalti. Tendangan kerasnya ini sama sekali tak bisa dihadang Green.

Boleh jadi gol itulah yang sudah "membunuh" West Ham sekaligus membuat MU dalam posisi yang kian nyaman. Terbukti MU kemudian menambah sepasang gol dalam selisih singkat untuk kemudian menang 4-0.

"Dia (Gibson) mampu bikin gol dari luar kotak penalti, dia punya tenaga luar biasa dan sekali lagi memperlihatkan tendangan yang mantap," puji Manajer MU Sir Alex Ferguson di Reuters.

Pujian sang bos memang layak dialamatkan untuknya karena beberapa hari sebelum ini Gibson juga menyumbang dua gol buat MU dalam kemenangan atas Tottenham Hotspur di ajang Piala Carling, dengan cara yang nyaris mirip yakni tembakan jarak jauh.

London - Manchester United dilanda kekhawatiran di lini belakang. Setelah mendadak kehilangan Nemanja Vidic, kini giliran Gary Neville dan Wes Brown yang kondisinya merisaukan.

Menjelang laga lawan West Ham, Sabtu (5/12/2009), Vidic tiba-tiba diserang sakit sehingga tak bisa memperkuat MU di laga tersebut. Ini membuat lini belakang MU saat itu diisi Wes Brown dan Gary Neville sebagai bek tengah, diapit Patrice Evra dan Darren Fletcher.

Sial untuk MU, Neville lantas kelihatan pincang di tengah babak pertama sehingga harus ditarik keluar untuk digantikan Michael Carrick, yang seperti Fletcher akhirnya terpaksa dimainkan di luar posisi.

"Ini hari besar buat kami karena kami kehilangan enam pemain belakang sebelum pertandingan dan tentu saja Gary Neville kemudian keluar di menit ke-30 dan itu bikin kami dalam tekanan," aku Sir Alex Ferguson kepada Sky Sports.

Brown sendiri pada prosesnya juga bermasalah kondisinya sehingga kian bikin Fergie ketar-ketir. Untungnya, ini tak mengurangi ketajaman MU di depan sehingga bisa menang 4-0.

"Kami mulai dengan baik. Usai bikin gol kedua tadi, kami tak berhenti, terus berusaha untuk menuntaskan permainan. Kami menambah dua gol lagi dan skor 4-0 di laga tandang bagus untuk selisih gol, bagus untuk kepercayaan diri tim, sehingga kami puas," tandas Fergie.

Belum ada keterangan seberapa parah tingkat cedera Neville dan Brown. Yang pasti, Fergie bakal berharap cedera keduanya tidak parah.
