- Servette, Swiss
- Sporting Lisbon, Portugal
- Rapid Wina, Austria
- AC Milan, Italia
- Rot-Weiss Essen, Jerman Barat
- IF Djurgaardens, Swedia
- Voros Lobogo, Hongaria
- AGF Aarhus, Denmark
- Real Madrid, Spanyol
- Partizan Belgrade, Yugoslavia
- PSV Eindhoven, Belanda
- FC Saarbrucken, Jerman Timur
- Hibernia, Skotlandia
- Gwardia Warsawa, Polandia
- Anderlecht, Belgia
# Celtic tim Inggris Raya juara Champion, 1967
Celtic Treble pertama kali di dunia, 1967
# Imbas Heysel, club Inggris dilarang main di Eropa 5 tahun, Liverpool 6 tahun
# ManUtd menjadi club pertama Inggris yg berjaya di Eropa setelah Heysel, Winners Cup 1991
# rekor gol UCL, per Feb. 21, 2007

Liga Champions, Lahan Menggiurkan
Faktor terakhir, market pool sangat menentukan besarnya pendapatan setiap klub. The Blues meraih pendapatan (total) sebesar 34,662 juta euro, sementara The Reds hanya 32,218 juta euro.
Untuk UEFA Cup, market pool baru dihitung ketika pertandingan memasuki babak knock-out. Spurs meraup 4,323 juta euro sedangkan Osasuna hanya memperoleh 2,639 juta euro.

Rekor Sheva Dekati Gerd Mueller
http://z.hubpages.com/u/116805_f260.jpg

Rekor Gol Cepat Makaay
detikSport 08/03/2007 06:47 WIB
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f150/rondwisan/Makaay-BBC-isi.jpg
Daftar pencetak gol tercepat Liga Champions
1. Roy Makaay 11 detik (waktu tepatnya belum diumumkan)
2. Gilberto 20,07 detik
3. Alessandro Del Piero 20,12 detik
4. Mariano Bombardo 28,21 detik

Format UCL
dari berbagai sumber
http://www.livefootball.net/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/uefa-champions-league-balls.jpg
1994-1997
Babak kualifikasi dikurangi menjadi hanya satu, namun jumlah grup dimekarkan menjadi 4. Juara dan runner up masing2x grup berhak ke perempat final.
1997-1999
Jumlah peserta ditambah. Tiap negara (berdasarkan koefisian) berhak mewakilkan 2 club. Babak Kualifikasi menjadi 2 tahap dan grup ditambah menjadi 6. Juara masing2x grup dan 2 runner up terbaik lolos ke babak perempat final.
1999-2003
Jumlah negara kembali ditambah, tiap negara (berdasarkan koefisian) bisa mengirimkan hingga 4 club. Babak kualifikasi menjadi 3 tahap.
2003-....
Penyisihan grup putaran kedua dihilangkan.

- Negara peringkat 1-3 (Spanyol, Italia, Inggris), berhak diwakili 4 club

2009, Jatah Tiket LC Bisa Bertambah
detikSport - 30/03/2007 14:34 WIB

Peringkat Klub UEFA: Inggris Gusur Italia

ENGLAND'S DOMINANCE, 1977-84
1976/77: Liverpool
1977/78: Liverpool
1978/79: Nottingham Forest
1979/80: Nottingham Forest
1980/81: Liverpool
1981/82: Aston Villa

Alan Hansen @BBC
BRITISH CLUB on EUROPE THIS SEASON
The Champions League has provided some great excitement for fans of English football over the last three years.
And three teams - Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United - reaching the semi-finals last season was a great boost to the domestic game.
You can gauge how strong a league is by how its teams do in Europe.
And with an England side making the final three years on the trot - Liverpool (2005 and 2007) and Arsenal (2006) - it shows you how high the standard is in the Premier League these days.
But it needs to maintain such levels over a number of years - and win the competition again - to back up any claims about it being the strongest league in the world.
Between 1977 and 1984, English teams won the competition every year bar one. They were dominant in Europe and it was great for the domestic game and for the national profile to have so many great sides.
This year, the Premier League has four sides that could go all the way - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.
I could not single out any one of them - they all have a great chance.
Some might not think Arsenal have the strength in depth, but they have got off to a flying start in the Premier League, so who knows?
There will be plenty of challengers, the big boys like Barcelona and AC Milan are always there, but the important thing is not to worry about anyone else.
All four English teams should qualify from the groups. Some will have it harder than others, but I expect them to progress.
Then we get into the real excitement of the knockout stages.
Teams can come from nowhere to win the Champions League. We saw that three years ago with Liverpool and before that with Porto, under Jose Mourinho, in 2004.
And it can be a real battle for some sides getting the balance right between domestic and European competition.
Teams have to rest their star players in order to keep them fresh - and sometimes that means they end up slipping up in their own leagues.
I still think it is possible for an English club to win both the Premier League and Champions League in the same season, but most think it is too tough a task.
Liverpool have not been able to do it while Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have stumbled in Europe at the final few hurdles in recent years.
It's a massive boost for the game in Scotland to see Celtic and Rangers joining the English contingent in the group stages of the Champions League.
And coming hot on the heels of Scotland's shock win over France in a Euro 2008 qualifier in Paris, it means football is on a real high up there.
It will be interesting to see how the two Glasgow sides fare.
The game is all about money these days and the two Glasgow sides need to go that extra step to the knockout rounds in order to earn the real revenues.
Hopefully they can make it through. It would be fascinating to have all six British teams in there.

English excellence
Hi Martin, who is the highest English scorer in the Champions League history? I am struggling to think of an English side who have had a prolific English scorer in the competition? Colin McGovern
MARTIN SAYS: Well Colin, it is a while since we had a prolific Englishmen spearheading his club's challenge in Europe, but the man you are looking for is Paul Scholes. The Manchester United midfielder is the top English scorer in the competition with 20 goals in 95 appearances. His goal against FC Copenhagen in the group stages last season took him past former team-mate Andy Cole to the top of the pile. When it comes to the leading British scorer Colin, you only have to look as far as Old Trafford as well because like so many of our 'all-time questions', the answer to that one is Ryan Giggs. The Welshman has, coincidentally, played 95 Champions League games but has scored three more than Scholes, at a rate of 0.24 goals per game.
Our hat-trick heroes
How many Englishmen have scored hat-tricks in the Champions League? I can only think of Wayne Rooney on his debut. Alan Coyle
MARTIN SAYS: Well Alan, there have been plenty of hat-tricks for English clubs, but of course the likes of Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba and Ruud van Nistelrooy do not count. But it does not mean we are without our homegrown hat-trick heroes and in the 15 seasons since the Champions League took on its new format, there have been six occasions when an Englishman has headed home with the matchball. I shall list them all below, although special mention must go to former Blackburn Rovers striker Mike Newell, whose treble in the space of nine minutes is still the fastest the competition has seen. Here are the other four men who have hit hat-tricks, one of them twice.
DATE PLAYER FOR AGAINST RESULT
Dec 6 1995 Mike Newell Blackburn Rosenborg (H) 4-1
Nov 5 1997 Andy Cole Man United Feyenoord (A) 1-3
Sep 13 2000 Andy Cole Man United Anderlecht (H) 5-1
Oct 22 2002 Michael Owen Liverpool Spartak Moscow(A) 1-3
Feb 26 2003 Alan Shearer Newcastle B Leverkusen (H) 3-1
Sep 28 2004 Wayne Rooney Man United Feberbahce (H) 6-2
Against Yakub-who?
Martin, I was in Cyprus when Yakuba was part of the Maccabi Haifa team that had to play their Champions League qualifiers over there. I remember seeing Yakuba score a hat-trick but I can't remember against which team he did this? I believe it was either Man Utd or Olympiakos. Sgt Paul Ridgway
MARTIN SAYS: Although we cannot offer you a tee-shirt like Soccer AM, it is always nice to receive a question from the armed forces, Paul! Your memory is right, you did see Everton's latest signing score a Champions League hat-trick, but it did indeed come against Olympiakos and not United. A 27th-minute penalty and strikes on 60 and 86 minutes saw him head away from Cyprus with the matchball. Funnily enough, the last man to score a Champions League hat-trick against United was in fact Yakubu's former Middlesbrough team-mate Tuncay Sanli, who got all three goals as Fenerbahce beat them 3-0 in the 2004-05 competition.
Home comforts
Hi Martin, love the commentary and love the column. I am Russian born, but have been living in England for 13 years now and follow Chelsea. With this year's final being held in Moscow, I was wondering... how many teams have lifted the Champions League trophy when the final has been held in their own country? I can't see Spartak doing it this year I'm afraid. Alex
MARTIN SAYS: This season's final will indeed be held in Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium Alex. Should Spartak Moscow surprise us all and win the competition they will become the ninth club to do so on their own soil and more so, the third club to win the Champions League or European Cup on their own ground. It has happened eight times before, starting way back with the second European Cup in 1957, which was won by Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu. Eight years later Internazionale matched that feat by lifting the trophy at the San Siro and of course in 1968, Manchester United became the first English side to be crowned European champions by beating Benfica at Wembley. In 1972 Rotterdam was the venue as the great Ajax side of Johann Cruyff and co won the second of their three successive European Cups and another six years on at Wembley again, Liverpool beat Club Brugge to become the second English side to win it on home soil. It has happened twice under the new Champions League format as well Alex, with Juventus lifting the trophy at the San Siro in 1996 and Borussia Dortmund following it up 12 months later by beating the Old Lady at Munich's Olympic Stadium.
Silver lining
Martin, I cannot wait for the Champions League to start on Sky. My question is, has a team that has been knocked out of the Champions League group stages ever gone on to win the UEFA Cup? Shamin Rashad
MARTIN SAYS: It has happened before, although teams dropping out of the Champions League and into the UEFA Cup is a relatively new concept. It happened most recently in 2005, when CSKA beat Sporting Lisbon 3-2 to lift the trophy having finished third in a Champions League group behind Chelsea and Porto. I can also tell you Shamin, that the Russian side played an incredible 19 games in total before lifting the UEFA Cup! In 2002 Feyenoord finished third in their group behind Bayern Munich and Sparta Prague but went on to beat Borussia Dortmund in the so-called secondary competition and in 2000, Turkish side Galatasary became the first side to do it. They came third in the Champions League group stages behind Chelsea and Hertha Berlin, dropped into the UEFA Cup and went all the way to the final in Copenhagen, where they beat Arsenal on penalties 4-1, with Davor Suker and Patrick Vieira missing from 12 yards. The Gunners had also dropped out of the Champions League that season.
Six of the best
Martin, I have heard this is the first time there will be six British clubs involved in the group stages. Is this true? Surely it has happened before. Colin McGovern
MARTIN SAYS: It is Colin, which means a busy time for us all on Sky Sports Champions League coverage this season - and long may it continue! Of course, the number of clubs qualifying for the competition has increased over the years, but this is the first time that the maximum number of British clubs have made the group stages proper. Back in 2003-04, both Celtic and Rangers made it through, as did Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, but sadly Newcastle were knocked out in the third qualifying round by Partizan Belgrade on penalties.
National treasures
Martin, which country has provided the most Champions League winners? I have a hunch its Italy. Jon Dew
MARTIN SAYS: You're hunch is not altogether wrong Jon, Italy and Spain have both provided the most winners of the Champions League and indeed, the European Cup overall. In 52 years of the competition, the European champions have come from those two nations 11 times. England fare well with 10 wins down the years in third place, Germany and Holland have provided six winners and Portugal, rather surprisingly have seen one of their clubs win it four times (Benfica and Porto twice apiece). Four other countries have had just one winner: Scotland (Celtic 1967), Romania (Steau Bucharest 1986), Serbia (Red Star Belgrade 1991) and France (Marseille 1993).

Skor-Skor Besar di Pentas Champions
http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/images5/besiktasscore.jpg
Jakarta - Hanya selang dua minggu rekor kemenangan terbesar di Liga Champions diperbarui Liverpool. Namun rekor sepanjang masa turnamen antarklub Eropa jumlahnya lebih mencengangkan. Berapa?
1973/74, 1st round:
Dinamo Bucuresti 11-0 Crusaders
Kemenangan agregat terbesar:
1965/66, 1st round:
Stade Dudelange 0-8 Benfica
Benfica 10-0 Stade Dudelange
(Benfica menang agregat 18-0)
Gol terbanyak dalam satu partai:
1969/70, 1st round:
Feyenoord 12-2 KR (Reykjavik), total 14 gol
Gol terbanyak dalam dua leg
1965/66, 1st round:
Stade Dudelange 0-8 Benfica
Benfica 10-0 Stade Dudelange
(Benfica menang agregat 18-0, total 18 gol)
1968/69, 2nd round:
Reipas (Lahti) 1-9 Spartak Trnava
Spartak Trnava 7-1 Reipas (Lahti)
(Spartak Trnava menang agregat 16-2, total 18 gol)
1969/70, 1st round:
Feyenoord 12-2 KR (Reykjavik)
KR (Reykjavik) 0-4 Feyenoord (in Rotterdam)
(Feyenoord menang agregat 16-2, total 18 gol)
1979/80, 1st round:

Format Liga Champions Berubah
http://static.liputanbola.com/200712/img_logo_liga-champions-1.jpg

Bravo, Milan!

Ryan Giggs has become only the eighth player to make 100 Champions League appearances after captaining the Reds in Wednesday night’s draw with Lyon, and Sir Alex Ferguson admits everyone at United is proud of the veteran winger.
The 34-year-old was presented with a silver salver before United's last 16 clash after following in the footsteps of Raul, Roberto Carlos, Paolo Maldini, David Beckham, Oliver Kahn, Luis Figo and Clarence Seedorf in passing the century mark.
“There are only a few players who will reach that milestone in European football,” admitted Sir Alex. “It’s because of his ability, his longevity, how he prepares himself to have a good lifestyle, and obviously being at a successful club.
“For me, Ryan has been an absolute model in his time with us. Even at 34 years of age we expect big, big things of him. Obviously we don’t play him in every game, but that’s natural for someone of that age. We want to play him in the games that really, really matter to our football club.
“Throughout his time with us, Ryan has always reserved his best performances for the biggest occasions. I’ve said many times about occasions at Old Trafford and the atmosphere, and the great nights we’ve had there. They could only happen because the right type of players are playing on that stage, and Ryan has produced many great moments for us. So it’s a great occasion for him, we’re all proud of him.”
Patrice Evra started behind Giggs on United’s left side at the Stade Gerland, and the French defender admits he is delighted for his team-mate to join such an exclusive club.
“I think it is a privilege to play with Ryan Giggs,” he said. “For me I just say thanks to Giggsy because I’ve learnt a lot of things with him, he’s a great player and I’m very happy for him.”
Giggs is likely to have familiar company in the 100 club sooner rather than later, with Paul Scholes having joined Gary Neville on 98 appearances after starting against Lyon.

50 historical facts of UEFA Champions League
theNATION - 11/09/09
We serve you fifty historical facts since the inception of the Champions League, the most glamourous club competition in Europe.
•Marseille was the first club to lift the European trophy since its conversion to the Champions League format in 1993.
•No English club won the Champions League title (in its new format) until Manchester United.
•Milan, Liverpool, Ajax and Manchester United are the only teams to have won the trophy unbeaten twice
•Only two clubs have appeared in the final of the European Cup/Champions league more than once, with a 100% success rate: Nottingham Forest in 1979 and 1980, and Porto in 1987 and 2004.
•Five clubs have appeared in the final once, being victorious on that occasion: Feyenoord (1970), Aston Villa F.C (1982), PSV (1988), Red Star Belgrade (1991) and Borussia Dortmund (1997).
•Only two clubs have appeared in the final more than once, losing on each occasion: Stade Reims in 1956 and 1959, and Valencia in 2000 and 2001.
•Only Celtic has completed the ‘quadruple’ - which means that they have won their domestic league championship, their primary & secondary domestic cups, and the Champions League/European Cup. The Bhoys did it in the 1966-67 season.
•Five sides have won the European Cup as part of a ‘treble’? These were Ajax, PSV, Manchester United, Barcelona, and Liverpool.
•Juventus, Ajax and Bayern Munich are the only teams to have won the three major UEFA official Cups, namely UEFA Champions League/European Cup, the now defunct UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, and UEFA Cup.

Record-breaking Inzaghi revels in Milan feats
Soccernet - November 4, 2010
Filippo Inzaghi reached three goalscoring milestones in one match with a brace in AC Milan's 2-2 Champions League draw with Real Madrid at the San Siro on Wednesday night.
The 37-year-old came off the bench to help the hosts overturn a 1-0 deficit only for Pedro Leon's injury-time equaliser to earn the Spaniards a draw. The result left Milan in second place in Group G, a point ahead of Ajax and five behind Madrid.
It was still a night to savour for Inzaghi, though, who became the record scorer in European competition with 70 goals - beating the 69 of Raul and Gerd Muller - overtook Marco van Basten in Milan's all-time scoring charts by moving onto 125 for the club and moved ahead of Andriy Shevchenko as the Rossoneri's leading scorer in Europe with 40.
"I'm very happy, it's a great evening for me,'' the former Juventus striker told Milan's official website.
"Setting this record at the San Siro in front of my supporters has always been one of my dreams. Now a phase of my 20-year career comes to an end, although the equaliser at the end of the match spoiled the night a little bit.
"I give credit to the supporters for (the records), their cheering gave me an incredible lift when I stood up from the bench. When I'm at the San Siro, all the joyful moments I've spent wearing the Milan shirt come to my mind. I knew I was ready to play, I feel in great shape, but in the end the result left me a bit disappointed, even though I scored twice from two shots.
"With this brace I overtook Shevchenko as the most prolific Milan player in European club competitions. I also overtook Gerd Muller and Van Basten. I want to thank everyone who has been close to me, my family, my brother, my girlfriend.''
Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri praised his striker. "Pippo is a great player, I'm happy for him,'' he said. "He played half an hour of intense football. It didn't surprise me. I'm sorry for leaving him out of the line-up, but I know I can always count on him.''

Champions League-winning players but no winning team?
"Which country, which has not produced a Champions League winning team, has the most players with winners' medals?"
The Knowledge is never one to shirk a statistical challenge, so we've trawled through 54 years of European competition to come up with a definitive list, one full of exciting quiz-question potential: Who is the only Belgian to win the European Cup? How many Polish goalkeepers have won it? The possibilities are endless. Perhaps unsurprisingly Brazil have provided the most European Cup winners, while of the countries who could potentially provide a Champions League-winning team the Republic of Ireland has proven the most fertile soil.
(In the interests of not-entirely-losing-our-minds we've included here only players in the winning final squads. Which is why Roy Keane isn't in here. And nor is Austria's Wolfgang Feiersinger, who helped Dortmund to the final in 1997. You can check out a very incomplete list of winners here. If you really want.)
