[EPL] Man Utd vs Aston Villa
Minggu, 13 Desember 2009
Kick Off : 00.30 WIB
Venue : Old Trafford Stadium

Manchester United vs Aston Villa

krisis defender nih buat United, apalagi di pertandingan semalem, United started dengan 2 right back yang di plot as center back, 'n 2-2nya must out of field by injury reasons, bahkan Brown dah kagak bisa digantiin
Fletch diplot di right back dan Carrick center back ..., bener2x bikin TK pusing

Villa sendiri performanya lumayan apik nih, lagi meningkat mereka, perlu diwaspadai nih

syukur deh ..., perjudian 'terpaksa' Opa Alex tadi pagi berbuah manis ....
meski masih banyak lubang2x yg harus diperhatikan, crossing2x bola atas di depan gawang United, center back dadakan kita masih blom terbiasa menghalau bola2x semacam itu ...
beberapa kali Wolfsburg players memenangkan duel udara dan mendapatkan free header ..., but unlucky for them ..., bolanya masih gak mengarah ke gawang Kuszczak ...

Kesembuhan Vidic Paling Dinanti
Narayana Mahendra Prastya - detiksport

http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/12/09/72/vidic-AFP.jpg

Tengah pekan ini badai cedera menghantam Old Trafford.

Manchester United set to be boosted by Nemanja Vidic return
Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to welcome Nemanja Vidic back into his starting line-up this weekend while insisting there will be "no knee-jerk reaction" to Manchester United's defensive crisis.

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01539/nemanja_vidic_1539934c.jpg

In total, Ferguson was without 14 senior men for Tuesday night's Champions League encounter with Wolfsburg, eight of them defenders.

Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher joined Patrice Evra in an unrecognisable three-man defence and the midfielders seem set to remain in post as Wes Brown's hamstring injury is not responding to treatment.

Because of the lack in defensive cover, Manchester United have been linked with a move for 35 year-old Sol Campbell, who has finally reached an agreement over his registration with Notts County, and has been training himself since leaving the League Two club in September.

However, Campbell would not be able to play until January, by which time Ferguson hopes to have a far cleaner defensive bill of health.

Ferguson said: "I expect Vidic to be fit and, if he is available, we would have him and Michael Carrick, plus Darren Fletcher and Patrice Evra. I would be happy enough with that."

Ferguson also expects to have Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov available when Aston Villa visit Old Trafford on Saturday.

That might mean a quick relegation back to the substitutes' bench for Michael Owen, who marked a rare start by converting his first Champions League hat-trick since 2003.

Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov set to return for United

• No new injuries after Champions League win in Germany
• Nemanja Vidic and Ryan Giggs also set to play against Villa

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2009/12/9/1260375292395/Wayne-Rooney-001.jpg

Manchester United's makeshift squad returned from last night's Champions League victory at Wolfsburg nursing no further injuries and bolstered by the news that several established names are due to return against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side beat the German champions without 15 senior players, 13 of them sidelined by illness or injury but Nemanja Vidic, Ryan Giggs, Dimitar Bernatov and Wayne Rooney are all scheduled to return at home against Villa.

With injury ruling out Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans and John O'Shea until the new year and Wes Brown also unavailable, Ferguson will, however, be forced once again to field two midfielders in his defence to face Martin O'Neill's side.

"With Vidic coming back [from flu] I should be able to have a back four of Darren Fletcher, Vidic, Michael Carrick and Patrice Evra against Villa," said United's manager who, unusually, fielded a back three in Wolfsburg where Evra was his sole recognised defender.

Despite this sudden lack of depth in the club's defensive talent pool a United source has dismissed reports that Ferguson could be poised to sign the former England defender and current free agent Sol Campbell as "nonsense".

It will be fascinating to see whether Michael Owen, scorer of a hat-trick during the 3-1 win in Germany that ensured United topped Champions League qualifying Group B, holds his starting place on Saturday when both Rooney and Berbatov are scheduled to return following hamstring and knee injuries respectively.

Vidic expected back in Man Utd line-up for Villa visit
-tribalfootball.com-

http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00776/Nemanja_Vidic_776904a.jpg

Manchester United’s key centre-half Nemanja Vidic is expected to return to the line-up for this weekend’s home clash with Aston Villa.

The Serbia international missed United’s successful Champions League trip to Wolfsburg midweek because of illness but has since recovered and will take his place when Villa come to Old Trafford on Saturday.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson said the addition of Vidic to a makeshift defence would be of great value to the team.

“I expect Vidic to be fit and if he is available we would have him and Michael Carrick, plus Darren Fletcher and Patrice Evra," Ferguson said.

"I would be happy enough with that."

Jelang MU vs Villa
Empat Pilar MU Kembali
Okdwitya Karina Sari - detiksport

http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/12/10/72/DuoMU-AFP285.jpg

Menjamu Aston Villa akhir pekan ini, The Red Devils diperkuat kembali empat pilarnya.

MU Sedang Tancap Gas
Rossi Finza Noor - detiksport

http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/12/11/72/MUAFp-isi.jpg

Manchester - Empat kemenangan diraih Manchester United dalam empat laga terakhir. Semuanya dengan skor relatif besar. Michael Carrick pun menyebut, The Red Devils kini tengah tancap gas.

Di atas kertas, The Blues jelas diunggulkan. Tetapi kekalahan melawan City akhir pekan lalu menunjukkan bahwa 'Si Biru' bukannya tak bisa takluk.

Aston Villa boss warns of 'tough' Manchester United game

Martin O'Neill has warned Aston Villa's stars not to under-estimate injury-hit Manchester United this weekend.

Villa visit United in a televised clash tomorrow with Sir Alex Ferguson likely to field a makeshift defence again.

United had to play midfielders Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher in defence at Wolfsburg in the Champions League.

But United still won 3-1 and are set to be boosted by the return of Nemanja Vidic, Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov and Ryan Giggs tomorrow.

And Villa boss O'Neill, whose side are unbeaten in five games, is expecting a tough test against the champions.

He said: “If you had listened to Sir Alex talking before their European game he mentioned that the most important thing for him was their game against Aston Villa.

“He might not have every single option available to him but he’ll have a lot more options available to him on Saturday, you can guarantee that.

“Manchester United couldn't have won the number of championships they have without having one of the strongest squads in European football.

“He will still have decent players to put out there and it will be tough.”

-manutdfcweb.co.uk-

Manchester United (from):
Van der Sar, Foster, Kuszczak, Neville, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ronaldo, Nani, Fletcher, Gibson, Possebon, Carrick, Park, Giggs, Tevez, Welbeck.

Gary Neville is expected to return for the first time since January as Manchester United look to halt a two-game losing sequence by beating Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Neville has been struggling to overcome a groin injury but came through a reserve team outing on Monday without a problem and is set to figure for Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Nemanja Vidic are all suspended, Dimitar Berbatov (ankle) is out for a fortnight and Anderson is not likely to play after picking up a knee injury on World Cup duty with Brazil.

Aston Villa (from):
Friedel, Guzan, Reo-Coker, L. Young, Knight, Cuellar, Davies, Shorey, Bouma, Milner, Gardner, Petrov, Barry, Sidwell, Salifou, A. Young, Agbonlahor, Carew, Delfouneso.

Gabriel Agbonlahor could be restored to the Aston Villa line-up as they look to end a run of eight games without a win in all competitions.

Agbonlahor was left out of the starting XI for the 5-0 mauling by Liverpool at Anfield before the international break with John Carew and Emile Heskey preferred in attack.

But Heskey is ruled out with a hamstring injury he suffered after scoring the opening goal in England's 4-0 win over Slovakia at Wembley last weekend.

O'Neill has to decide whether left-back Wilfred Bouma is ready to play any part after eight months out of action with a dislocated ankle. He came through a third reserve game in mid-week with no ill effects.

No Owen Goal
-avfc.co.uk-

http://www.avfc.co.uk/javaImages/61/d5/0,,10265~7656801,00.jpg

Carlos Cuellar is hoping to keep Manchester United striker Michael Owen quiet tomorrow - just like when the pair met in Spain's top-flight.

The Spaniard is a huge admirer of the England goal ace, insisting there a few deadlier marksmen around.

When Owen spent a season with Real Madrid in 2004-05, he came up against Cuellar who was at Osasuna.

Although Madrid won 1-0, Cuellar was part of the defensive unit that managed to stop Owen from scoring.

The Villa defender would love to have similar success against the United forward at Old Trafford tomorrow.

"I think he is a top-class player," said Cuellar. "He is very clever. He always seems to be in the right place inside the box.

"I played against him when we were both playing in Spain - him for Madrid and me for Osasuna. He didn't score!

"Eventually we lost 1-0 to a David Beckham free-kick but Owen is a top, top player who will cause problems for the best defenders in the world."

Cuellar says Villa must believe they have a chance of getting a result against the Red Devils, because of their recent form.

However, he feels United won't be too affected by their recent injury troubles as they have such a wealth of talent in their squad.

He added: "I don't think it will matter because they have a big squad with big players.

"If one big player doesn't play they have another very good player who can fill in.

"Every one of their players can cause problems for a defender. The whole Manchester United team can attack.

"But I think we have a good chance to win because we are in good form at the moment. We are full of confidence and are playing some good stuff.

"I'm expecting a really high quality game. It will be a tough game and it's a good chance for us to break this record they have over us.

"I think we are having a good season. We are still in three trophies. The supporters are happy about the way we are playing."

MATCH PREVIEW

This is currently the biggest mismatch in the Premier League: since Manchester United's defeat at Villa Park on the opening day of the 1995/96 season, which famously prompted Alan Hansen to declare 'you win nothing with kids', they have gone 27 league games unbeaten in this fixture, and won 12 of the last 13. No other club has ever had such a stranglehold over Villa.

Martin O'Neill's side came within a whisker of breaking that sequence at Old Trafford in April, only for Cristiano Ronaldo and another of Sir Alex Ferguson's 'kids', the then-unknown 17-year-old Federico Macheda, to turn the game on its head.

That result was credited with tipping last season's title race in United's favour, and a similar result on Saturday would be an important step on the road to a fourth successive title.

United go into the game in the midst of an injury crisis, with eight defenders absent from the midweek win over Wolfsburg, and Ferguson may again be forced to name at least two midfielders in his back four.

Villa head into the game riding high in fifth and, with victories over Liverpool and Chelsea already this season, will not be overawed at facing the champions despite that abysmal record. Victory at Old Trafford would see the Midlands club move into the top four, until Sunday at least.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• Villa have gone 24 games without a win against Manchester United in all competitions. In league games only, United are unbeaten in their last 27 meetings with Villa (W20, D7). This is currently the longest winless sequence in the league, and the second-longest sequence in top flight history - behind only Tottenham's 32-match streak without a victory over Chelsea from 1990 to 2006.

• Villa's last win over United was 13 October 1999, when they beat the under-strength visitors 3-0 in the League Cup third round.

• The last time Villa avoided defeat at Old Trafford was 1-1 on 26 October 2002. Their last win at the stadium was in 1983.

• Wayne Rooney has scored five goals in his last five Premier League starts against Aston Villa.

Man Utd

• Man Utd are the only team in the Premier League who have not dropped any points from a winning position in the league this season.

• They have lost only one of their last 31 Premier League matches at Old Trafford.

• United have scored 11 goals in their last three league outings.

• Paul Scholes has scored 99 Premier League goals.

Aston Villa

• After drawing a blank against Wigan on the opening day, Villa have found the net in their subsequent 14 Premier League matches.

• Martin O'Neill's side are the only team in the Premier League not to have lost a game against the current top 10 in the table.

• Villa have scored a league-high eight goals from corners.

• The Midlands club have won 99 Premier League games away from home.

MANCHESTER UNITED v Aston Villa: Defensive boost as Nemanja Vidic returns for Villa clash
-dailymail.co.uk-

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/12/11/article-1235090-0763C9AC000005DC-678_468x359.jpg

Nemanja Vidic will return to the Manchester United starting line-up as the Red Devils injury crisis starts to ease.

Michael Carrick is still going to be required to deputise alongside Vidic at centre-back for the Old Trafford encounter with Aston Villa.

However, with Vidic recovering from a flu virus, Wayne Rooney (hamstring) and Dimitar Berbatov (knee) getting over minor knocks and Ryan Giggs available after being rested, Ferguson does have more options, even if the game comes too early for Fabio Da Silva and Wes Brown (hamstring), who have started training.

Team (from): Kusczak, Foster, Fletcher, Vidic, Carrick, Evra, Park, Nani, Valencia, Obertan, Anderson, Scholes, Gibson, Giggs, Rooney, Berbatov, Owen, Welbeck.

United's injury-hit defence faces another difficult test, against high-flying Aston Villa...

Form guide: Villa are unbeaten in four league outings, and climbed to fifth place in the table with a 3-0 victory over Hull City last weekend. The Reds are bang in form, of course, after winning the last three league games and scoring 11 goals in the process. The head-to-head record heavily favours United; you have to go back more than 14 years to find the Midlanders' last victory in a league meeting, a 3-1 success at Villa Park when Alan Hansen infamously said of the young Reds, "You'll never win anything with kids." Villa's record is worse when you consider all 34 Premier League clashes - just two wins for them - while their last win at Old Trafford was back in November 1983. They came close last April, of course, leading 2-1 until the 81st minute when Cristiano Ronaldo and, unforgettably, Federico Macheda turned the match on its head.

Ins and outs: Villa's James Collins, Wilfred Bouma and Craig Gardner are all improving but will not make the Old Trafford clash. Curtis Davies will also be absent as he is still recovering from a shoulder injury. The Reds will hopefully welcome back Rooney, Berbatov, Giggs and Vidic to the side, but Sir Alex admits he may still be forced to go with Fletcher and Carrick in defence again due to United’s long injury list. Scholes is suspended so Gibson could be in line to make a fourth consecutive start.

Star man: Former Leeds and Newcastle man James Milner has forced his way into recognition for Fabio Capello’s World Cup squad. A tricky winger by trade, Milner has also proved his capability at full-back and central midfield in recent weeks. He is England’s most capped Under-21 player.

Manager: Martin O’Neill has been touted for both the United and England jobs in recent years. A European Cup winner as a player at Nottingham Forest, he twice gained promotion for Wycombe, took Leicester City into the top flight and won three league titles as Celtic boss. No wonder Villa are now regularly in the hunt for Champions League football.

Referee: Martin Atkinson has taken charge of two controversial United matches this season - the defeat at Chelsea in November, and the derby victory over Manchester City - while his last Villa game was their 3-1 win at Liverpool. The Yorkshireman has yet to send anyone off this term, after 17 matches.

Rivals watch: Manchester City travel to Bolton on Saturday afternoon, while Chelsea host Everton. Top four challengers Tottenham play Wolves at White Hart Lane, also before the Reds kick off at 17:30 GMT. Arsenal travel to Liverpool on Sunday, for a fixture that finished 4-4 last season.

United's injury problems are easing but Martin O'Neill's promise to attack the champions seems wise, particularly given the form of Villa's forwards. That said, it will very much depend on what Villa side turn up; the defeat of Portsmouth in the Carling Cup was their first victory on the road since September. Struggling for goals away from home coupled with United's almost impenetrable domestic home form, having dropped only two points at Old Trafford this term, emphasises the magnitude of Villa's task. Manchester United (2nd) v Aston Villa (5th)

Manchester United are unbeaten at Old Trafford in the Barclays Premier League, winning six of their seven matches. Aston Villa have drawn three out of four away from home.

Man Utd team news

Nemanja Vidic will return to the Manchester United starting line-up as the Red Devils' injury crisis starts to ease.

Aston Villa team news

Aston Villa central defender James Collins returns to the squad after injury for the trip to Old Trafford.

The former West Ham United player has been sidelined for the past month with thigh and groin problems but has now returned to training.

Villa manager Martin O'Neill must decide whether to recall his £5m signing or keep faith with Carlos Cuellar who has impressed in recent weeks alongside Richard Dunne.

O'Neill has no fresh injury worries as Villa look to win at Old Trafford for the first time in 26 years.

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill ready to break Manchester United hoodoo
-dailymail.co.uk-

Full of belief: Villa boss Martin O'Neill

To say that Manchester United are Aston Villa’s bogey team would be something of an understatement.

But Martin O’Neill heads to Old Trafford in the belief that his side is in the best shape to break one of the most unwanted Premier League records during his four seasons at Villa Park.

It is a staggering 26 years since Villa last triumphed at the home of the current English champions. Peter Withe scored twice in a 2-1 victory.

In fact, Villa have not won on their own turf against United in the league since the opening day of the 1995 season, when an unknown called David Beckham scored his first goal for Manchester United and Alan Hansen famously decreed that Alex Ferguson would ‘win nothing with kids’.

However, Villa are unbeaten against Liverpool and Chelsea - two of the so-called ‘Big Four’ - and also against their nearest challengers in the race for a Champions League spot next season, Tottenham and Manchester City.

O’Neill was in a bullish mood last night, saying: ‘We are buoyant. We are in fine form and we are well aware of what we are up against, in terms of the difficulty of the task and our recent history.

‘The club doesn’t have a great record against United but we are unbeaten against sides in the top four and those hoping to get into the Champions League this season.’

O’Neill was not reading too much into talk of the problems affecting United, either.

Coming face to face again: Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill and Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson

‘I’m not getting overly excited by the talk of a defensive crisis,’ he said. ‘To my mind, Nemanja Vidic will play and so will Patrice Evra. Michael Carrick may have played at the back in midweek, but they still went to Wolfsburg and won.

‘United have not won the honours they have without carrying around a squad of quality players with them.’

wah.. ternyata mantan pelatih timnas kita dulu pernah ngejebol gawang United, dua kali pula...

:hammer:

goodluck lads..! 2-0 victory i surely hope shall happened...

We Will Keep Our Attacking Approach Against Manchester United - Aston Villa Boss Martin O'Neill
-goal.com-

http://www.independent.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00038/martin_o_neill_38264t.jpg

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has stated that his men will stick to their attacking approach against Manchester United on Saturday, despite a horrific record at Old Trafford.

Villa have not only been unable to notch a win against the Red Devils in 27 attempts, but they are without a victory at Old Trafford since 1983.

Despite these poor records, O'Neill has held firm that his team tactics will remain as they are, as his men hope to break the voodoo currently against them.

Telling the The Guardian: "We definitely have the ingredients and players to do well in the game and we will be going into it with plenty of confidence."

"I don't think we have ever tried to close a game down and maybe that sometimes plays into Manchester United's hands.

"I remember hearing [Cristiano] Ronaldo say he enjoyed playing against Villa because they try and play. But I don't want to stick a lot of men behind the ball.

The Irishman identified Wayne Rooney as United's key danger-man.

Concluding: "I think he said at the start with Ronaldo going he was prepared to take on more responsibility. He's absolutely brilliant. He's got to be in the top five in the world."

Martin O'Neill needs no telling that Wayne Rooney is the man Villa must stop this evening.

The Villa boss rates the Manchester United striker among the current top five players in the world and believes he's relished the extra responsibility since Cristiano Ronaldo's summer departure.

"He is making it a pivotal season for himself," said the manager. "I think he said at the start of the year that, with Ronaldo gone, he was prepared to take on more responsibility.

"He has accepted that and I think he is absolutely brilliant. He is a world class footballer. He has got to be in the top five in the world."

It is Rooney's commitment to the United cause that MON feels is the England ace's biggest quality.

"I think that he has definitely taken on greater responsibility," he said. "He was prepared to play wide when Ronaldo played up the middle last season, and always for the good of the team.

"I always think Rooney is most certainly a fantastic individual, but who genuinely cares about the team, and would still go and play right back if he was asked to play right back."

Last time Villa went to Old Trafford, they suffered heartbreak at the hands of another of United's young sensations, Federico Macheda.

The substitute struck in injury time to snatch a 3-2 success for the Red Devils.

The Villa manager believes that may have been a turning point in United's title-winning campaign.

While he admits Villa's attacking style may have suited Sir Alex Ferguson's team on that occasion, he does not want to alter their positive approach this time around.

"It may well have been the most decisive moment in the season," added MON. "It was a gut-wrenching moment as far as we are concerned.

"We definitely have the ingredients and players to do well in the game and we will be going into it with plenty of confidence.

"I don't think we have ever tried to close a game down and maybe that sometimes plays into Manchester United's hands.

"I remember hearing Ronaldo say he enjoyed playing against Villa because they try and play. But I don't want to stick a lot of men behind the ball."

O’Neill admits admiration for Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of Villa clash with Manchester United
-birminghammail.net-

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/09/07/article-0-006924C100000258-423_468x286.jpg

MARTIN O’Neill admits he has great admiration for the man in the opposite dugout at Old Trafford tonight, conceding Sir Alex Ferguson is in a league of his own.

The Villa boss claims Manchester United’s manager has proved himself time and again, and consistently so, in a career as Red Devils’ boss, which has spanned two decades.

O’Neill is a great admirer of Ferguson’s ability to breed successful teams even if he is less enamoured with his ability to win games late on.

O’Neill quipped: “Everyone concedes late goals at Old Trafford – at least you do if you play long enough! That’s true and usually you do.

“Sir Alex won’t mind me saying this, but there are two times in this game, normal time and Old Trafford time!

“But, seriously, he is at the top of his tree. He has been a brilliant manager for a long, long time and proved himself every year for 20-odd years.”

O’Neill added: “Anyone who has been at a club of that standing for that length of time, and to be as successful as he is, it just couldn’t be repeated. It really is fantastic.

“Carlo Ancelotti mentioned he was at Milan for eight years and, in Italian terms, that really is a lifetime. But for someone to be at a club the size of Manchester United year in, year out, and being as successful, it really is phenomenal.”

Ferguson’s ability to win trophies is also something the Villa boss admires and which he hopes ultimately to emulate at Villa Park.

“He has built not just teams, but successful teams,” O’Neill said. “Eventually you have to change teams if you are there for that amount of time. There is a certain lifespan and then you go on to develop another side.

“What has been so fantastic about Alex is that he has developed these teams and they have all been successful. He is now contesting Champions League finals on a more regular basis and winning championships too. The record is there for everyone to see and will stand the test of time forever.”

Park: Man Utd must ignore history for Villa clash
-tribalfootball.com-

http://mszzz.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/2_2652_park_ji_sung1.jpg

Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung has warned they cannot take lightly Aston Villa.

Victory is far from a formality, however, even if United have won the last seven at home to Villa.

The Korean told United Review, “We have a good record against them but we have to look at the present - our past results won’t help us this time.

"Villa have been strong for the last few years and they’re more determined than ever to break into the top four. This season they have performed very well."

United's industrious winger is impressed with the squad Martin O’Neill has built at Villa Park, and knows the Reds will have to be on top form.

"They have a really strong team. Ashley Young, Gabriel Agbonlahor, James Milner and Emile Heskey are all good. We'll have to be at our best."

Man Utd relief as Vidic availabe for Villa tall timber
-tribalfootball.com-

http://www.independent.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00176/pg-54-vidic-getty_176505t.jpg

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits he's relieved Nemanja Vidic is available for today's clash with Aston Villa.

Vidic’s return will be crucial as United look to deal with the aerial threat posed by centre forward John Carew.

It will also be interesting to see if Martin O’Neill tries to take maximum advantage of United’s injury problems by playing striker Emile Heskey from the start.

Ferguson said: "Villa cross the ball a lot and, if they play Carew and Heskey up front, it presents you with a formidable task. They are big lads and good in the air and Vidic is one player who can cope with that.

"The remarkable thing about what Martin has done at Villa is that he seems to pick the same team every week and that has given him consistency.

"This will be a big test for us so we are really glad that Vidic is back. I would think that Carrick will play alongside him and that Fletcher would play at right back."

Menunggu Perjudian Baru Fergie

http://www.kompas.com/data/photo/2009/12/12/0913006p.jpg

Namun, pelatih Alex Ferguson punya banyak resep mengatasi keadaan. Di Liga Champions, Rabu (9/12), dia malah membuat perjudian besar. Memakai formasi 3-5-2, dia banyak menurunkan pemain muda. Bahkan, dua defendernya sebenarnya gelandang, yakni Michael Carrick dan Darren Fletcher. Buktinya, MU malah sukses menghajar Wolfsburg 3-1.

Fergie kemungkinan kembali memakai formasi 4-4-1-1.

Namun, apa pun formasinya, Ferguson tahu betul bagaimana mengatasi gaya permainan lawan.

Maklum, Villa sangat berambisi masuk empat besar.

kalah sih gpp, cm gw agak kecewa krn maennya ga lgsg pressing & ngotot ketika ketinggalan, malah awal2 babak 2 villa yg memegang ball possesion

tp mau menang, seri, ato kalah, juara ato degradasi, I always LOVE UNITED

wah almost speechless liat maenny MU.. SUPER SUCKS.. somehow gwe tetep insist MU sangat kekurangan world class player (lini tengah terutama, butuh pemaen yg mematikan), terutama untuk partai2x lawan tim alot kayak Villa gitu... SAF, please OPEN UR EYES, STOP COMPLAINING EVERYTHING on the ref... serius deh geregetan liat maenny.. ROONEY ga biasany, maenny frustrating abis, shoot tinggi melulu, salah oper melulu.. what's wrong lad ??? Owen ?? apart from his deadliness in the box, he's pretty much useless for team play... and our midfield ???? !#$%^%&&^ !!!!!

PS: the hell with all the corners ??? absolutely nothing good ever comes from the crossing...

kalo gw bilang seh MU masih perlu striker haus gol sekelas Ruudtje..
bgmn dgn Berbatov..??
ga tau mo ngomong apa tentang Berba (FYI: ekspektasi gw sangat-sangat-sangat-sangat besar thd Berba mengingat perjuangan Opa mendapatkan Berba dan harganya yg cukup mahal)..
ga enak nyalahin Berba seorang juga soalnya..
permainan MU emank lg ga bagus neh mlm ini..

Parah!! Lini depan ga tenang, finishingny jd buruk
Lini tengah miskin kreasi, ga ada suplay yg bgs buat lini depan
Lini belakang berantakan, ketar ketir kalo diserang, kalah cpet mulu sama young agbonlahor..

Sayang bgt..saat sbenernya United punya kesempatan menyamakan poin dgn chelsea malah kalah.. Mengecewakan.. Tp apa bole buat.. Sial aj spt ny hari ini.. Cb aja tendangan rooney g kena tiang..

Next week vs Wolves, kesempatan membalikan keadaan n tempel ketat chelsea lagi sambil berharap chelsea tergelincir lg...

LACKLUSTRE Manchester United suffered their first Premier League home defeat of the season at the hands of Aston Villa.

Gabriel Agbonlahor headed home Ashley Young's cross to put the visitors ahead after 21 minutes. The closest United came to an equaliser's was Wayne Rooney's first-half effort that bounced away off the underside of the bar.

The Reds are now three points behind leaders Chelsea after the league leaders drew with Everton earlier on.

Villa earn first Old Trafford win in 26 years to go third

Gabriel Agbonlahor's goal gave Aston Villa a shock 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford to move them into third spot in the table.

The win was Villa's first win at United since 1983 as United suffered their first home defeat ofthw campaign.

The defeat means United miss out on the chance to go level on points with Chelsea after Carlo Ancelotti's side were held to a 3-3 draw at home by Everton.

Agbonlahor struck on 21 minutes when he headed home Ashley Young's cross to give Villa a famous win.

United threw everything at Villa, but the closest they came to an equaliser was when Wayne Rooney hit the crossbar and Nemanja Vidic had a header cleared off the line.

Manchester United 0-1 Aston Villa and all the day's match reports
-mirrorfootball.co.uk-

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/match-centre/article254741.ece/ALTERNATES/gallery-large/Gabriel+Agbonlahor.jpeg

Agbonlahor seals Villa win Manchester United failed to produce any late heroics this time as Gabriel Agbonlahor's first-half goal earned Aston Villa their first Old Trafford win since 1983.

Sir Alex Ferguson described Federico Macheda's sensational injury-time effort in the corresponding fixture last term as the defining moment of United's season.

It is too early for Agbonlahor's header to be described in the same way, but on a day when United were in action after Chelsea had stumbled unexpectedly on home soil, it was a poor result for the hosts.

Although Villa headed north without a win for so long, they did have the confidence of victories against both Chelsea and Liverpool this season to fall back on.

Martin O'Neill's teams tend to be regarded as solid and durable rather than exciting.

But Stewart Downing's recovery from long-term injury has released James Milner into central midfield and, as Fabio Capello and Sir Alex Ferguson have noted, he can be useful going forward.

And while Villa themselves might not have enjoyed the best of times against United of late, Agbonlahor has not done too badly.

The England striker had scored in the past three seasons against the Red Devils, so he was completing a rather impressive four-timer when he nodded home Ashley Young's right-wing cross.

Agbonlahor had already shown impressive strength to hold off Wes Brown, then spotted his opportunity after rolling a pass to Young, darting into the space where he expected the cross to come.

Brown might be criticised for not sticking to his man. But Tomasz Kuszczak was equally culpable, edging four yards off his line and then stopping as he realised he had no chance of cutting it out.

The cross duly came and, with Kuszczak in no man's land, Agbonlahor steered his header into the net.

It could quite easily have been two by half-time as Kuszczak's indecisiveness spread through a defence supposedly bolstered by the return of Brown and Nemanja Vidic.

Agbonlahor harried Darren Fletcher off the ball after the Scot had received a pass he was not expecting from Kuszczak.

Instead of going for goal himself he unselfishly tried to present Emile Heskey with a tap-in. This time Kuszczak redeemed himself.

United were not exactly a muted force, it was just that their efforts tended to be half chances rather than clear opportunities.

Antonio Valencia was a threat but was caught on his heels when Wayne Rooney flicked an inspired pass to the near post.

Rooney was also booked for a blatant dive when he went down anticipating a challenge from Luke Young which never actually arrived.

And it was Rooney who saw his shot crash off the bar after a brilliant piece of close control when he received Patrice Evra's low cross.

United's efforts were underwhelming enough for Ferguson to introduce Michael Owen at the break.

Like Giggs, it was a rare off-day for Rooney, who failed to take a couple of those half-chances that kept coming United's way.

If that was not bad enough, after flattening Downing, Rooney raced at the Villa goal then woefully overhit a through-ball intended for Dimitar Berbatov.

Not that the Bulgarian had anyone to blame but himself when Michael Carrick charged forward on the overlap and invited the finish with a precise cut-back.

It looked certain to be the equaliser, but Berbatov failed to make a proper connection.

Downing was perfectly placed to boot a Vidic header off the line with 10 minutes remaining as the game entered the phase where last year Villa's victory hopes were so cruelly snatched away from them.

Carrick drove another late effort wide, but at the end the only noises United made were Ferguson's complaints about the amount of time being added on.

Aston Villa were pummelled in second half - Alex Ferguson
-sundaymercury.net-

http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00947/utd_7_-_Alex_Fergus_947554a.jpg

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was magnanimous in defeat, which came in the same week his injury-plagued side won 5-1 at Wolfsburg in the Champions League.

"Second half I think we deserved something," Ferguson told ESPN.

"There wasn't much in it first half, they probably just shaded it and deserved the goal.

"Second half we pummelled them, had a lot of good chances and didn't get any.

"It's just one of those days it wasn't going in."

Ferguson was aggrieved, once again, at the lack of stoppage time and believes time-keeping should no longer be the referee's responsibility.

"You get to the point on adding time on, it should be taken out of the referee's hands," he said.

"There were two stoppages of two minutes three seconds and we played three minutes (stoppage time)."

Ferguson does not believe the defeat, coming after Chelsea drew 3-3 with Everton this afternoon, hampers United's title chances too greatly.

He added: "It's not an easy league. I say that time and time again.

"If we get to January within touching distance of the leaders then we're in with a great chance."

Villa finally end United hoodoo
-sport.co.uk-

http://d.yimg.com/i/ng/sp/empics/20091212/18/314378124-12122009181455.jpg

Aston Villa finally laid to rest the ghost of Manchester United victories past as Gabriel Agbonlahor's first-half goal gave them their first win at Old Trafford in almost 27 years.

Villa had gone 24 games against the Reds in any competition without a win, but the way their players celebrated at the end suggested they know they are not far away from breaking into that elite group of four clubs at the top of the Premier League.

Villa hassled United from the start. They never let them settle and capitalised on some poor defending for the only goal of the game after 21 minutes.

Standing a few feet short of the left corner of the United box, Agbonlahor held off a challenge from Nemanja Vidic to lay the ball back to Ashley Young on the wing.

Young looked up and produced a perfect measured cross as Agbonlahor continued his run in between Vidic and Wes Brown to meet the ball and plant his near-post header into the net from six yards.

United pressed forward and few people would have thought that would have been the end of the scoring.

Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney missed chances, while Rooney was rightly booked for diving after going down in the Villa box after brushing Luke Young.

Rooney was unlucky not to equalise from an exquisite piece of skill on the half hour.

Patrice Evra found the England man on the left side of the six-yard box. His clever drag-back left Carlos Cuellar for dead and Rooney lashed in a shot which crashed back into play off the underside of the bar.

United went for broke after the break when both Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov were brought on to give Rooney much needed support up front.

As time went on the signs were there that United would make one of their late great escapes.

But even when the Reds managed to get past the Villa defenders, they found their old nemesis Brad Friedel in superb form in the Villa goal.

With four minutes left, Berbatov produced a glorious bit of skill to glide forward and power in a shot from just inside the Villa penalty area which Friedel brilliantly turned behind.

Villa's win takes them to third place in the table and with victories against United, Chelsea and Liverpool, suggests they could finally be there to stay.

Its definetely wrong tactic....

Playing with 4-5-1 while we still have the likes of Owen and berba and Obertan in bench??

Fergie dont trust our front men....

Its all gone wrong... Why, SAF play Park ahead of Obertan, Why SAF put Gibson when we need a spark and creativity in our attack....

Sigh.... Lagi-lagi kita ga bisa memanfaatkan peluang...

Fergie Keluhkan Injury Time
Rossi Finza Noor - detiksport

http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/12/13/72/MUInjurytimeReuters-isi.jpg

Manchester - Kekalahan yang diderita Manchester United dari Aston Villa menyisakan rasa kecewa dari Sir Alex Ferguson. Manajer asal Skotlandia ini mengeluh soal injury time. Apa yang dikeluhkannya?

Pada laga yang dihelat di Stadion Old Trafford, Minggu (13/12/2009) dinihari WIB, The Red Devils takluk 0-1 lewat gol sundulan Gabriel Agbonlahor. Meski mencetak banyak peluang, MU tetap gagal menyamakan skor hingga akhir laga.

Sebuah perubahan perlu dilakukan," tukasnya.

Fergie: Bukan Harinya MU
Mohammad Resha Pratama - detiksport

http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/12/13/72/fergie-i.jpg

Ketika wasit Martin Akitson meniup peluit pertama laga dimulai, MU langsung menekan pertahanan Villa. Soccernet mencatan MU membuat 19 shot berbanding delapan milik Villa, serta unggul 68%:32% dalam hal penguasaan bola.

Hasilnya?

( mrp / krs )

anderson celingak celinguk gak tw mw ngapain...
giggsy pun ikut2an hang..sering banget salah keputusan...(itu knp gw ga sk giggs maen jd second striker)....
di belakang pun punya 2 CB jg tetep aja si flech yg kerja keras, coz 2 cb kita sibuk panik...
ampe2 TK pun seperti kena "virus" foster...

yg gw bold, gw jg ngerasa gitu
kmrn mereka maen ga kaya biasanya, krg semangat dan ga ngotot, awal2 babak 2 saat ketinggalan, ga lgsg pressing malah villa yg nguasain ball possesion

itu yg bikin gw kecewa kmrn, kalah sih it's ok, cm kalo maennya kaya kmrn?? bkn ciri khas UNITED bgt
kalo mereka maen ngotot & penuh semangat kaya waktu 3-3 sm CSKA, gw ga masalah sama sekali walaupun kalah, paling ga udah berjuang dg ngotot & penuh semangat

Pegel banget ngelihat game semalam...!!! sampai misuh2 sendiri gak karuan....
Udah tahu Rooney macet kalau single striker, tapi masih aja dipaksakan begitu... Brown dan Fletch jadi titik lemah terutama Fletch (what's wrong with U Fletch...???). Sisi kanan United rapuh banget. Ashley Young berubah bagai Ronaldo yang mampu mengacak-acak pertahanan lawan (OMG.. Young=Ronaldo..? Or is it our back's stupidity...???). Bahkan gara-gara Fletch pula nyaris TK harus memungut bola lagi dari gawangnya (luckily TK saves the day with his superb reflex....!!!!)
Di tengah, Oom Giggsy off form banget. Carick.. kemana dirimu berada..???

Pusing mau komentar apa...
Masih kesel sendiri aja nih...
Gw cuma berharap formasi back kita buru2 normal...biar DF24 kembali ke habitat aslinya...

all I can say is we wouldn't feel as bad if the game was before Chelsea's game...the fact that the game started after Chelsea's game make us feel really really bad!!!!!!!!!

speechless...
rooney bener2 off form...shooting salah, passing salah, posisi salah...tapi kalo lagi nguber pemain lawan tetap semangat...
midfield nggak jelas juga...
vida sama brown kurang kompak...

SAF...nggak ngerti deh...
ngapain nurunin Berba juga kalo udah masukin owen...???
kenapa harus gibson...kenapa nggak obertan...??

duh...hope next match will be better

~X(~X(~X( agh... aku ketiduran!!!! bangun2 dah menit 60-an dan MU ketinggalan 1-0 ~X(~X(~X(

Alasan Vidic Kenapa MU Kalah

http://media.vivanews.com/thumbs2/2009/12/13/81650_nemanja_vidic_300_225.jpg
