What a month, what a fixture ...., bener-bener seperti lomba lari marathon nih fixture di bulan Desember, twice a week every week, setelah menjamu Villa and Wolves, kali ini giliran United yang malkoni laga away ke kandang Fulham, Craven Cottage. Baru setelah partai ini United bisa agak lega menanti Boxing Day yang kebagian jatah Super Sunday tanggal 27 Desember.

Manchester United face more defensive unrest as Nemanja Vidic picked up a calf strain.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been fielding makeshift defensive line-ups for several weeks and skipper Vidic picked up a calf strain that is almost certain to rule him out of Saturday's trip to Fulham.

Wes Brown also faces a two-week lay-off, which would be enough to rule him out of the entire festive programme, after suffering a hamstring injury against Aston Villa on Saturday.

It means Michael Carrick will be forced to continue in central defence at Craven Cottage, probably alongside 21-year-old rookie Ritchie De Laet.

"Ritchie showed some promise and he will probably be there on Saturday," said Ferguson. "We just have to get on with it."

Manchester - Permasalahan lini belakang tampaknya belum bisa hilang dari Manchester United. Nemanja Vidic yang baru saja sembuh dari cedera kini sudah harus absen lagi lantaran cederanya kambuh.

Vidic hanyalah satu dari sekian nama yang menghilang dari lini belakang MU. Selain dirinya ada Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Jonny Evans, Wes Brown, Rafael dan Fabio da Silva, serta John O'Shea.

Pada laga terakhir fase grup Liga Champions beberapa pekan silam, MU pernah hanya memiliki Patrice Evra sebagai satu-satunya bek murni yang fit. Imbasnya, Sir Alex Ferguson pun memasang Michael Carrick dan Darren Fletcher sebagai bek tengah.

Akhir pekan lalu, ketika melawan Aston Villa di Premier League, Fletcher tampil sebagai bek kanan sementara Vidic sudah bisa tampil. Tetapi nama terakhir kembali mengalami masalah dengan otot betisnya ketika MU menang 3-0 atas Wolverhampton, Rabu (16/12/2009) dinihari WIB.

"Wes masih bermasalah dengan hamstring-nya dan ia akan absen selama beberapa pekan ke depan. Vidic menderita cedera di otot betisnya dan diragukan bisa tampil pada hari Sabtu," ujar Sir Alex di situs resmi klub.

Dengan cederanya Vidic dan Brown, manajer asal Skotlandia itu pun kembali mempercayakan lini belakang kepada Carrick. Dan sebagai tambahannya, Sir Alex juga memanggil bek muda asal Belgia, Ritchie De Laet, untuk keluar dari bangku cadangan.

"De Laet tampak menjanjikan dan ia tampil bagus ketika digeser menjadi bek tengah. Dia adalah bek tengah natural dan akan bermain di sana pada hari Sabtu nanti," demikian dia mengomentari De Laet.

MU bakal bertandang ke London pada akhir pekan ini untuk menghadapi salah satu klub penghuni kota tersebut, Fulham. The Cottagers performanya tengah turun-naik dalam lima laga terakhir--dua kali menang, dua kali seri, satu kali kalah--, tetapi bukan berarti MU bisa santai. ( roz / krs )

MANCHESTER United are sweating on Nemanja Vidic’s fitness ahead of the trip to Fulham.

Vidic limped out of the midweek win over Wolves with a calf strain but with Jonny Evans (calf), John O’Shea (leg), Gary Neville (groin), Rio Ferdinand (back) and Wes Brown (hamstring) all definitely out, Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping the Serbian makes it.

Tomasz Kuszczak continues in goal as Edwin van der Sar (knee) has returned to Holland for treatment.

Even though Vidic is a doubt for the game, he is not concerned by the extra demands of the festive season.

While top players in Spain, Italy and Germany are putting their feet up and spending the holiday season at home, their English counterparts are preparing for a four-match programme which, for some, includes two games in three days.

Vidic admits the Premier League’s traditional Christmas programme was a culture shock when he first arrived at United from Spartak Moscow for £7.2million in 2006. But not any more.

“Other leagues tend to stop,” said the Serbia defender.

“It not only helps physically but mentally as well.

“Obviously, in the first full year I was at the club I found it hard to adapt because the season was so long.

“But now, it is not a problem. I have been here for three full seasons now so I know what to expect. I am used to it and I can cope.”

ALEX FERGUSON has hailed the impact of Roy Hodgson — and claims easy games against Fulham are now a thing of the past.

The Manchester United boss takes his injury-hit side to Craven Cottage tomorrow knowing they are in for a challenge.

Fulham won 3-2 away at FC Basel in midweek, despite resting a number of key players.

And Fergie claims that fact, plus their 2-0 win over his side last season, shows how well Hodgson has done since arriving at the club in 2007.

He said: "We lost to them last year, and analysing that game was quite revealing for us,

"And who'd have thought Fulham could play in Europe with five changes and win? It'd a remarkable turnaround since Roy's gone there and a very difficult game for anyone.

"I think it's down to the manager. You only have to see where they were before he went there — in relegation trouble.

"Last season they improved again, they're in Europe and have qualified for the next stage."

Fulham striker Andy Johnson will miss the match as he continues his recovery from a groin injury.

Johnson has been sidelined with a groin injury since October and misses out along with Simon Davies (ankle), Seol Ki-Hyeon (leg) and Diomansy Kamara, who has been to France for more treatment on his knee injury.

Roy Hodgson's team is likely to contain several changes from the side that beat Basle on Wednesday, with Damien Duff, Brede Hangeland and Clint Dempsey all likely to start.

Manchester United's pursuit of the Barclays Premier League title suffered a humiliating setback with a thrashing at Craven Cottage inspired by Bobby Zamora.

Danny Murphy opened the scoring from 30-yards after capitalising on a blunder by Paul Scholes and Zamora continued his rich vein of form with the second a minute after the interval before Damien Duff smashed in late on.

United were forced to field a makeshift defence once again. Nemanja Vidic failed a fitness test on his calf strain so midfielder Michael Carrick and Ritchie de Laet were paired together at centre back.

Captain Patrice Evra and Darren Fletcher filled the full-back slots with Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen starting in attack.

Skipper Danny Murphy, winger Damien Duff and defender Brede Hangeland returned for Fulham following the 3-2 victory over Basle in midweek.

Evra started the match in an advanced role on the left with Sir Alex Ferguson opting to play with a five-man midfield and three in defence - Carrick, Fletcher and De Laet.

Paul Scholes was booked for a clumsy challenge on Duff and the lack of headway made by either side in the opening 10 minutes was summed up when Rooney attempted a shot from the halfway line.

Rooney teed-up Darron Gibson but his snatched effort sailed harmlessly over the crossbar as the stalemate continued.

Fulham should have taken the lead in the 17th minute following a wonderful move started by Clint Dempsey.

The American floated in a long pass to Bobby Zamora who expertly chested the ball down into the path of Zoltan Gera but the Hungarian directed his shot too close to keeper Tomasz Kuszczak when he had the goal at his mercy.

Duff should have produced a better conclusion to one run into the box but Fulham only had to wait until the 22nd minute to storm into the lead when they capitalised on an error by Scholes.

Fletcher passed to Scholes but the former England midfielder was too slow in reacting, allowing Danny Murphy to snatch the ball from his feet and fire a 30-yard effort into the net.

Gibson saw a tame shot saved by Mark Schwarzer with all the significant action continuing to take place at the opposite end.

Zamora should have made it 2-0 but nodded Gera's precision cross wide from six yards out after doing the hard work in outjumping Fletcher.

Quick thinking from Evra and Rooney created a half-chance for Anderson but Fulham reacted so rapidly to the threat that by the time he pulled the trigger he was blocked by a wall of white shirts.

Scholes ran out of space as dashed across the area and eventually ran out of ideas, opting to shoot but failing to hit the target.

United's problems deepened just a minute into the second half when their patched-up defence was exposed once more as Fulham extended their lead.

Duff supplied the cross to the far post where Dempsey was able to deflect the ball into the path of Zamora who rifled home from close range.

Antonio Valencia, who was enduring a torrid afternoon at the hands of Paul Konchesky and Dempsey, finally managed to escape but Schwarzer reacted swiftly to his shot.

In desperate need of inspiration, a lacklustre United brought on Dimitar Berbatov for Gibson and switched to a three-pronged strike force.

The former West Ham marksman - a menace all afternoon - then helped complete the rout of the champions by setting up the third for Damien Duff. Needing a third goal to kill off United, who were showing tentative signs of a fightback, Duff obliged in the 75th minute.

The visitors failed to clear their lines allowing the brilliant Zamora to set-up Duff, who smashed the ball home from 15 yards out.

Delirious Fulham fans chanted "we want four, we want four" and Zamora would have given it to them had Kuszczak not made a superb late save.

Fulham are getting the hang of beating Manchester United - and there's not many teams that can say that.

For the second season running, the west Londoners made a win over the Premier League champions look more than easy.

A brilliant third from Damien Duff after 75 minutes as he placed a low left-foot drive past Tomasz Kuszczak, courtesy of a neat chest and lay-off from Bobby Zamora, sealed a lacklustre United's fate.

Just 20 seconds into the second half, Zamora rifled in a close-range effort started by Duff and finally set-up by a header from Clint Dempsey.

As if a Scouser needed any invitation to score against Manchester United, Michael Carrick made it even easier for Danny Murphy to open the scoring on 17 minutes.

The stand-in defender stood off Murphy making his mind up for him as he let fly from 22 yards.

It still seemed as if Kusczak would be favourite to the low right-foot drive, but a combination of wicked bounce and the slightest of stumbles from the keeper saw the ball nestle nicely into the bottom corner

But what Paul Scholes was thinking as he casually turned on a poor pass from Darren Fletcher is anyone's guess.

Murphy easily robbed the midfielder to set up the chance in the first place.

In fact, an unfamiliar three-man United defence looked as if they had met each other for the first time in the Craven Cottage tunnel before kick-off.

Zamora should have added to his impressive recent haul but his header wide from six yards at the back post on 33 minutes after another fine piece of interplay involving Dempsey and Zoltan Gera's neat cross came to nothing.

Gera himself brought a great left-handed save from Kuszczak earlier as Zamora turned provider with a neat chest into the Hungarian's path. But although the first-time shot had power, it was also at the right height for the keeper to turn over.

At the other end, United's attack was giving Mark Schwarzer fielding practice.

A series of lofted and long-range efforts fell gratefully into the Aussie's arms - and none was more frustrating for the red army packing the Putney End than Wayne Rooney's 30-yard attempt that was closer to the middle of the stand than the goal in front of it.

Scholes' woeful first-half was summed up when he was rightly booked for a late challenge on Duff.

And although United switched to a 4-2-4 formation after the second goal went in at the other end - even with sub Dimitar Berbatov alongside Rooney - they were met by a stubborn white wall.

London - Manchester United tiga kali dibobol Fulham. Sir Alex Ferguson menyesalkan terjadinya gol pertama yang membuat 'Setan Merah' tampil goyah sementara The Cottagers makin menjadi-jadi.

Melawat ke Craven Cottage, Sabtu (19/12/2009) malam waktu setempat MU yang berambisi untuk terus menempel pemuncak klasemen Chelsea, gagal mendulang satu pun angka. Tak hanya itu saja, The Red Devils juga dibuat malu dengan dioleh-olehi berupa tiga gol ke gawang Tomasz Kuszcak.

Menanggapi kekalahan telak timnya tersebut, Fergie mengatakan alasan kunci dari buruknya permainan anak asuhnya di laag itu adalah terciptanya gol pertama yang meruntuhkan mental para pemain MU.

Berawal dari kesalahan Paul Scholes yang kehilangan bola akibat direbut Danny Murphy di menit 22, gawang Kuszcak kebobolan melalui tendangan jarak jauh dari gelandang Fulham tersebut.

"Kami kecolongan oleh gol pertama mereka yang cukup halus dan itu membuat mereka semakin terbangun mentalnya," ujarnya di situs resmi klub.

"Itu sangat penting bagi mereka dan menjadi sesuatu yang sangat buruk bagi kami. Setelah itu permainannya menjadi sulit, apalagi setelah gol kedua yang mengunci keunggulan mereka.

There is nothing much to talk about the players in general because they were all pretty crap throughout today. But putting aside the players' performances, I am quite sure Fergie made too many mistakes today which offered no help at all to improve things.

In the midst of our defence crisis, to start with a 3-man defence of which 2 are midfielders and leaving out Fabio, the only other defender fit, is bizarre. I thought De Laet should have partnered Carrick at the heart of defence with Fabio and Evra making up the back four. That would have given us the best possible normalcy in defence that we can put up.

After we went a goal down and so obvious that we were out of shape with our formation and the midfield engine room stalling, nothing was done (again) until into the second half (?).

The changes finally made, however, were equally bizarre.

Fabio was brought in to take up the position that he should have started and Evra reverted back to his left back spot. So far so good. But taking out De Laet whom I thought was decent along with Carrick (minus the first goal when he should have stepped forward to narrow down the angle) in favour of Fletcher as central defender was inexplicable. I thought keeping De Laet to partner Carrick and pushing Fletcher to midfield would have been so much better. I was disappointed with Scholes, Anderson and Gibson (especially with Scholes and Anderson who were really woeful with either taking wild shots or making countless bad passes) but more so with Fergie when there was no change at all to our central midfield.

Further changes were made when Berbatov and Wellbeck were introduced. Fair enough for Berbatov for an ineffective Owen but Wellbeck's was again bizarre. Firstly, I thought in a match when we were desperate for more penetration, Obertan would have been a better choice to run at the defenders on the flank to create much needed space, especially when Valencia already had been trying all he could on the right. But worse was when Wellbeck did not take up his position on the left like he used to be doing and Rooney remained on the flank. I totally agree with the commentator that Rooney should have partnered upfront with Berbatov in a more advanced position instead.

"In Fergie we trust" for what he has done for us all these years and to continue so but that does not mean he should be absolved of all blame for any particular game or receive immunity for his part.

Ferguson Kini Salahkan Cedera Pemain

VIVAnews - Sir Alex Ferguson mulai mempermasalahkan cedera pemain yang kini menghantam Manchester United. Setelah dikenal 'hobi' menyalahkan wasit, kini Fergie beralasan cedera pemain sebagai biang kekalahan.

Fulham berhasil membuat Ferguson menyadari jika absennya beberapa pilar Iblis Merah ternyata mempunyai efek. Secara mengejutkan MU takluk 3-0 dari tuan rumah Fulham. Tujuh pemain bertahan MU termasuk Nemanja Vidic memang harus absen setelah dihantam cedera.

"Saya harap kami tidak terlalu hancur dengan hasil ini," ujar Ferguson seperti dilansir eurosport, Minggu 20 Desember 2009.

Dengan kekalahan ini, MU berpeluang semakin ditinggalkan Chelsea yang baru akan bertanding malam hari nanti. The Blues akan unggul enam poin jika berhasil menaklukkan West Ham United di pekan ke-18 nanti.

"Kami harus mendapatkan kembali bek-bek kami untuk memberikan kami peluang di liga. Jika kami mendapatkan mereka kembali kami akan bangkit," tambahnya.

Namun kelit Ferguson kali ini cukup beralasan. Pasalnya saat kontra Fulham, jantung pertahanan MU justru ditempati Michael Carrick dan Darren Fletcher yang notabenenya gelandang.

Beruntung beberapa pilar pertahanan MU akan segera kembali. Vidic kemungkinan besar akan kembali pulih. Sebenarnya Vidic diprediksikan telah pulih sebelum laga kontra Fulham. Namun bek Serbia ini dinilai belum bugar untuk bermain.

Masalah timbul dari lini belakang yang sangat2 keropos, sehingga berimbas pada lini tengah yang jadi kurang kreatif efek nya lini depan selalu kekurangan suplai bola..
Secara umum kita bermain sangat jelek tapi menurut gw tidak ada pemain yang patut dipersalahkan karena sebagian pemain tidak bermain pada posisi asli nya, mungkin lain cerita kalo yang kita hadapi adalah tim gurem...
