Puji Wasit Pengusir Van Persie, Ferdinand Dikecam Fans Arsenal
Doni Wahyudi - detiksport

Ferdinand Minta United Lupakan Arsenal Dan Chelsea

Ferdinand: Twitter Itu Penting buat Pebola

Ferdinand Masih Kapten Inggris

Ferguson: Ferdinand will be back

Date: 18th March 2011 at 10:16 am |
Written by FFC News Desk

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed speculation Rio Ferdinand’s playing career could be over.

The United boss revealed this week that the England centre back’s calf injury could see him miss the rest of the current campaign.

The 32-year-old has not played since United’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the English Premier League on February 1 and has made just 15 appearances this season.

Despite reports his time at the top could be coming to an end because of his persistent niggles, Ferguson insists his captain will return to his best.

“Rio has plenty of years ahead of him,” Ferguson said.

“He has had a few injuries over the last few years I am sure that are a concern for him.”

“But he is still capable of coming back and playing at the top level.”

“He is desperate to get back and he will.”

“Calf injuries can be troublesome. I remember Bryan Robson was out for four months with a calf injury.”

“It is looking that way again with Rio.”

“We are not looking at it as a short-term situation for us. He has been out for a few weeks now anyway and has not started training yet.”

“It looks to me as if we will be lucky to get him back for some point of the season.”

Ferdinand: Butuh Karakteristik Khusus Untuk Menjadi Kiper United

Rio Ferdinand 'appalled’ by Fabio Capello’s behaviour after manager makes John Terry England captain
Rio Ferdinand is furious at Fabio Capello’s failure to inform him that he is making John Terry his permanent England captain and is considering whether he will play for Capello again.

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01852/rio-ferdinand_1852730c.jpg

The England manager watched the Manchester United game against Bolton in the directors’ box at Old Trafford near Ferdinand on Saturday but the pair did not speak.
Capello insists he had arranged a meeting with Ferdinand at Old Trafford last week but says that the player declined to meet him.
“Rio is shocked and appalled at the lack of civility and good manners being shown,” said a source close to Ferdinand. “He cannot believe he is reading about the captaincy being taken away from him in the newspapers.”
Capello has confirmed that Terry will be captain for Saturday’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales and beyond and will explain his decision to the players when he meets them tomorrow.
“I tried to meet [Rio] at the Manchester United-Marseille game,” Capello said, “but he preferred not to. I don’t know. It is a question for him, not me. I hope I will meet him to speak privately, not by phone because I think by phone is not so good.”
But sources close to Ferdinand denied there were arrangements for a formal meeting, saying that the only contact that was made came in a phone call on Monday from England general manager Franco Baldini, in which he simply said “see you at the game”.
Ferdinand’s frustration and disappointment is exacerbated by the fact that he was reassured on Sunday last week that he would remain captain, only for Capello to suggest otherwise in a press conference the following day.
Ferdinand, who is likely to miss the rest of the season with a calf injury, is unlikely to be appeased by Capello’s wish to retain him as vice-captain.
“When I started off as manager, I decided [the order would be] John Terry, Rio and Steve [Gerrard],” he said. “Nothing will change. Rio is vice-captain.”
Capello also said that he had spoken with Gerrard on Thursday and that the Liverpool captain had “no problem” with his decision.
Capello names his squad today and will call a team meeting as soon as players assemble. He sacked Terry as captain a year ago after a series of indiscretions but says the Chelsea player has has “learned from his mistakes”.

Ferdinand Kecewa Dengan Sikap Capello

Masih Kecewa Capello, Rio Tetap Dukung Terry

Ferdinand Tidak Akan Pensiun Dari Timnas

Rio Ferdinand tetap ingin membela tim nasional.

Manajer Fabio Capello kemudian menunjuk Ferdinand sebagai kapten the Three Lions.

Ferdinand sendiri dipastikan absen sampai akhir musim. Namun, dirinya memastikan tidak akan mundur dari timnas meski sudah tak lagi menjadi kapten the Three Lions.

Secercah Harapan untuk Ferdinand
Okdwitya Karina Sari - detiksport

Fabio Capello: I understand Rio Ferdinand concerns

http://m.gmgrd.co.uk/res/602.$plit/C_71_article_1416369_image_list_image_list_item_0_ image.jpg?25%2F03%2F2011%2016%3A06%3A21%3A382

England manager Fabio Capello says he can understand why Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand may be upset at losing the captaincy to John Terry, but insists that it was a decision he needed to make.

Terry's return as skipper following a 13-month exile after allegations about his private life has dominated the headlines in the build-up to tomorrow's game with Wales, while it has been reported that Capello did not tell Ferdinand that he was being replaced as captain before reports emerged in the media.

Ferdinand's current absence through injury, plus that of vice-captain Steven Gerrard, meant that Capello had a captaincy decision to make, and he believes he has made the right choice.

"Something happened in my mind when I saw the armband being passed around during our game in Copenhagen (against Denmark)," he said.

"We changed it in the second half and it was unfair for John Terry to see this.

"I thought that it was time for John Terry, after punishment, to return and be captain.

"I know that Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard are not fit. I knew it was the moment, with one game which is so important, to have one captain like John Terry.

"I tried to meet him (Ferdinand) when Manchester United played against Marseille but he told me no.

"I can understand everything, but I need to make decisions. I think I will be happy and will meet him (Ferdinand) in the future."

Pushed further on why the meeting with Ferdinand did not take place, Capello added: "It didn't happen, he didn't come.

"Its a question for him, not for me. I was in the directors' box. You have to ask him, okay?"

Capello added: "I spoke with the players and personally with some players, and I spoke with the squad before I decided that John Terry will be the captain, and all the players were happy because John Terry was always a very important leader on the pitch and to the team."

Perbaiki Hubungan, Fabio Capello Segera Temui Rio Ferdinand

Ferdinand: Tugas Belumlah Usai

Liputan6.com, London: Palang pintu Manchester United Rio Ferdinand meyakinkan rekan-rekannya agar jangan jemawa.

Kembalinya Ferdinand—berduet bersama Nemanja Vidic—membuat pertahanan MU kembali solid. Rasa frustasi Torres membuahkan kartu kuning akibat aksi diving-nya.(DIM/Soccernet)

Rio relaxed over return
Man Utd defender felt no nerves ahead of comeback from injury
April 7, 2011 4:47pm

http://img.skysports.com/10/10/460x238/Rio-Ferdinand-Manchester-United_2520162.jpg

Rio Ferdinand has insisted he felt no pressure about coming back into the Manchester United side for such a crucial game against Chelsea following an injury lay-off.

Ferdinand had not played since suffering a calf problem during the warm-up ahead of United's defeat to Wolves in February, and only returned to training a few days ago.

Sir Alex Ferguson may have been tempted to stick with Chris Smalling, who had performed admirably alongside Nemanja Vidic in Ferdinand's absence, but opted to select the more experienced man for the Champions League encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Ferdinand justified his manager's decision with a calm and commanding display to help the Red Devils establish a 1-0 lead going into next Tuesday's return leg.

And he maintains that he was able to stay relaxed before kick-off, saying: "I didn't feel any pressure or nerves.

"You are doing what you love. I wake up every morning wanting to play football.

"To come out and play at stadiums like Stamford Bridge does not make me nervous, it makes me want to try and get the right result for my team.

"When you have played a lot of games and seen all these situations there are not many surprises in these games.

"I have seen a lot of things and if you can't deal with that at this stage of your career then you never will."

Indeed, it appeared Ferdinand was the least surprised to be back in action, even though Ferguson claimed only three weeks ago the former England skipper could miss the remainder of the season as his recovery was taking longer than hoped.

"I was told a certain amount of time and I have come back a little bit quicker," he said.

"I was confident I would come back. Now it is about maintaining that."

Return of Rio Ferdinand boosts Sir Alex Ferguson's belief
Manchester United are closing in on another European final, with Sir Alex Ferguson in bullish mood before the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Chelsea

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Football/Clubs/Club_Home/2011/4/8/1302291261566/Rio-Ferdinand-and-Fernand-007.jpg

A week ago Sir Alex Ferguson was at Manchester United's academy training complex watching an Under-12s game, when he observed Rio Ferdinand making his way towards him in a buggy.

"I thought to myself: 'He must have something to tell me,'" the United manager says. "He must want to play against Chelsea." Sure enough, after a minimal amount of small talk – "He asked me the score and I had to tell him we were losing one-nil to Liverpool" – Ferdinand declared himself ready to play after two months out with a calf injury, and his manager took him at his word.

"I was thinking of playing him anyway, but it would have been a risk to have rushed him back," Ferguson says. "I was pleased I didn't need to persuade him. As soon as Rio said he was fit I was satisfied we would not be taking a gamble – he knows his own condition better than anyone else – and in the event he was fantastic for us against Chelsea. I was expecting him to tire towards the end but there was no sign even of that. He's a natural athlete, a bit like Paul McGrath used to be, and it's good to have him back. He's fresh again now as well, and I always feel that with our first-choice defence in place we have a good chance against anyone."

The case for United's defence is particularly solid in Europe. It is six years since they last lost a Champions League tie at home, and so far this season they have conceded a miserly two goals. By this stage last season, by comparison, they had let in 10, and even Barcelona, the favourites to lift another European title at Wembley in May, have seven in the debit column, as have Schalke. Internazionale have a whopping 19. Maybe defensive security was the basis for Ferguson's unusually bullish claim last week that his side have another treble within their grasp.

"The defence has done very well, although that might have a lot to do with the way we have operated our midfield in Europe this season," Ferguson says. "We have a lot of experience of playing in Europe now, and knowing how to keep possession of the ball has helped. We've found a way of playing in Europe, and I think we have the right players for the job on Tuesday. Now we have everyone fit again the defensive part is much stronger than it has been, and that is a definite bonus. At this stage of the season that is all you can ask, really. It hasn't always worked out for us this way in the past, but when you see everyone getting back in time for the important games it's fantastic."

One player who will be back, fresh and highly motivated for the Chelsea game is Wayne Rooney, goalscorer in the first leg but granted what may be termed an official rest over the weekend. "At least we know he's not going to get himself injured," Ferguson says. "He is disappointed by what has happened, as we all are – none of the players can understand it. You have to take your medicine and move on, though, and Wayne is ready to do that. The way I'm looking at the situation is to try and use it to our advantage. We have all got great motivation now, not just Wayne. I think you will see a difference in our supporters too."

With an away goal and a clean sheet from the first leg, United would appear to be in a commanding position at a fervent Old Trafford, and with Schalke their likely semi-final opponents it will now be a surprise if they do not reach a third Champions League final in four years. Not that their manager will have any truck with looking so far into the future. As far as he is concerned the tie is still finely balanced, and Chelsea far from out of it.

"We will be approaching the game in exactly the same way as we did in the last round against Marseille," he says, referring to a tie that was goalless after the first leg. "It is best to ignore the goal we already have and just go out to try and win the game. If we win the match we go through and that's the easiest way to look at it. You don't want to be playing for a draw or worrying about what happens if they score. I think Chelsea will play their usual game, building up slowly rather than setting off in a rush to score, but if we play our usual game we should be all right."

Rio answers Fergie prayers
Ferdinand ready for Chelsea test after return to fitness
April 11, 2011 3:27pm

http://img.skysports.com/11/04/660x350/Fernando-Torres-Rio-Ferdinand-Chelsea-v-Manch_2582476.jpg

Rio Ferdinand is confident of helping Manchester United into the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after delivering what Sir Alex Ferguson felt was one of his best performances for the club in last week's first leg against Chelsea.

The defender had been doubtful for the trip to Stamford Bridge following a two-month lay-off with a calf problem, but declared himself fit a couple of days before kick-off and was restored to the starting line-up.

He repaid his manager's faith in him with an assured display as United kept a clean sheet and ran out 1-0 winners thanks to Wayne Rooney's crucial away goal.

Ferdinand maintains that he never had any doubts about being able to slot back into the side, and fully expects to finish the job in Tuesday's return match at Old Trafford.

"I think you just have to have confidence in your ability, but you need 10 other people out there as well to pull you through," he said in a press conference shown on Sky Sports News.

"Hopefully we will get through to the hat for the next round."
Magnificent

Ferdinand remained modest about the way he played at Stamford Bridge but Ferguson was more fulsome in his praise for the defender.

Despite the emergence of Chris Smalling as a reliable centre-back, the United manager was delighted to be able to call on the experience and leadership qualities of the former England captain.

Ferguson said: "I have to say that Smalling's performances this season have been absolutely brilliant, but I was praying that he (Ferdinand) would be fit for the game at Chelsea.

"We don't expect Chris Smalling at 20 or 21 to be directing and instructing players, but Rio does that really well.

"He brought composure on the ball, didn't panic, and handled everything.

"That was probably one of his best performances in a United jersey. Absolutely magnificent."

Rio Ferdinand hints at Manchester City discord by insisting Manchester United would stamp out 'sulkers'

Rio Ferdinand has delivered a thinly-veiled criticism of Manchester United’s FA Cup semi-final opponents Manchester City by claiming Sir Alex Ferguson would stamp out any "sulkers" or "cliques" at Old Trafford.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NTF6gpaJJAU/TTmrIRobKEI/AAAAAAAAABw/by33MJyg-BQ/s1600/RIO.jpg

United defender Ferdinand is expected to overcome the bruised knee sustained during Tuesday’s Champions League victory against Chelsea in time to face neighbours City at Wembley on Saturday.

But while United go into the game on course for a second treble in 12 years, City head to Wembley with renewed doubts over the team spirit fostered by manager Roberto Mancini at Eastlands.

James Milner’s angry reaction to being substituted by Mancini during Monday’s 3-0 defeat at Liverpool was the latest example this season of friction within the City camp, following publicised training ground fights, on-field rows between team-mates and Mancini’s clashes with captain Carlos Tévez and Italian forward Mario Balotelli.

Despite the distractions, City remain in contention for Champions League qualification and their first major silverware for 35 years.

But aside from Wayne Rooney’s attempt to leave Old Trafford last October, United have avoided the controversies that have dogged City’s campaign and Ferdinand insists much of that is a result of the unity among Ferguson’s squad.

Rio Disgusted With Mario Balotelli Taunts
17/04/2011

http://www.united-latest.com/uploads/1/9/5/6/1956984/3952636.jpg?327

Rio Ferdinand unhappy with Mario Balotelli
A pathetic, classless act from Manchester City's Mario Balotelli at the final whistle led to a brawl between the two sides. City won the game 1-0 thanks to a Yaya Toure goal, as Paul Scholes was sent-off. But at full time, Balotelli intentionally ran over to United's fans to taunt them and preceded to incite The Reds' players...
Yaya Toure's goal on 52 minutes came generally against the run of the play, with United having outplayed the 'noisy neighbours' in the first half. But when referee Mike Dean showed Paul Scholes a red card for a high challenge on Pablo Zabaleta, The Red Devil's chances became numbered. There was no late Derby drama at Wembley in The FA Cup Semi-Final, but there was a late brawl on the field following the full-time whistle.

'Super Mario' Balotelli, who has hardly done anything to impress since coming to the Premier League, ran over to the United supporters' section and started to taunt them by waving his shirt. As he walked back, Oliveira Anderson and Rio Ferdinand - having seen what he had done - confronted him. He winked at Rio, before starting a melee between United players and Man City's coaching staff.

"If you score a goal and give a bit to opposing fans, I kind of accept that." Ferdinand told followers on Twitter. "But, at the final whistle you go to your own fans and enjoy it, not the opposing fans. If I offended anyone, I apologise, emotions obviously running high. We're disappointed we didn't get the win we were looking for, but now let's go and win some silverware !..."

Rio And His Stalker
April 18, 2011

http://therepublikofmancunia.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Rio-and-Sussanne.jpg

Rio Ferdinand was in court today to give evidence against his stalker, Susanne Ibru.

In his Manchester United tracksuit, Rio talked of how this woman showed up at his house several times, sometimes in the middle of the night, saying things like: “I’m not just a fan” and “Don’t associate me with being a fan, I’m more than that.”

Ibru represented herself in court, meaning she could ask the questions himself.

Rio said he didn’t remember the first time they met which was apparently in 1998 at the home of his stepfather’s mother. “I remember that very well,” Ibru said. “The first time setting my eyes on you, not just in a newspaper.”

After being asked if she had any further questions for the footballer, Ibru said no and he was released from the witness box. As he left the court, she said: “I’ll see you soon, bye.”

Ibru has been found guilty of harassment this afternoon. A warrant has been issued for her arrest though as she has gone missing after lunch.

Creepy!

Ferdinand Bayangkan Slipknot di Pesta Royal Wedding

Bola.net - Apa jadinya jika Wedding Song pesta pernikahan 'Royal Wedding' antara Pangeran William dan Kate Middleton diselipin lagu band hardcore cadas macam Slipknot? Jangan terlalu membayangkannya dahulu.

(twt/fjr)

Rio Ferdinand Fit Dan Fokus Tuntaskan Musim Dengan Gelar Juara

Rio Ferdinand: Fear of failure drives us on at Manchester United

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/05/07/article-0-0B82A61300000578-997_306x423.jpg

Rio Ferdinand has revealed the fear factor that drives on millionaires like himself to continue winning trophies at Manchester United.
Ferdinand knows victory against Chelsea will put United on the verge of a record 19th Premier League title.
For the former England captain, it would mean a fifth league winners' medal, still a long way behind team-mates Ryan Giggs (12) and Paul Scholes (10).

The hunger of United's players to keep achieving success every season is regarded by Sir Alex Ferguson as the main attribute of his team.
And Ferdinand says he never loses the feeling of not wanting to return to his days of having to drive a 'beat-up Ford Fiesta'.
'I said when I joined United, the whole reason was to win trophies,' said Ferdinand. 'It's exactly the same now. I've been fortunate enough to be part of a team that has challenged every year and I'm pleased with that. But I will be more pleased if we win another one or two trophies this season.

'People ask me how we continue to be up there every year. I just think if you get good things in life, you want to continue, whether it's winning football trophies, going to nice places or getting a nice car.
'You don't want to go back to driving the beat-up Fiesta I had when I first started driving. You want to continue driving nice cars and you will do everything you can to be able to do that.
'It's the same thing with football. You want to continue winning trophies. You work hard to do that so the feeling and satisfaction you get when you do it is fantastic.
'It will be a great achievement to win the league again. To be champions for the fourth time in five years is the level of consistency the manager, players and fans want at this club.'
Although United have dropped only two points at home all season, the current side are still not regarded as one of the vintage United teams.
Away from home, they have only won five matches - no more than Newcastle or Blackpool - and have lacked the 'wow factor' of their 2008 team that featured Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez.
Giggs, a member of all United's 11 title sides since the Premier League was founded in 1992, thinks they will still go down in history if they can pull off the European Cup-title double, previously achieved by the club in 1999 and 2008.
'We got a lot of criticism earlier in the season because we weren't playing the type of football we have been playing in the past but it wasn't something we were overly worried about,' admitted Giggs, 37.

'Ultimately how good this side are will be determined by what we win. It won't matter how brilliantly we played or how many 5-0 victories we had. It's about what you win at the end of the season.'
Rooney missed last season's title decider at Old Trafford, which Chelsea won 2-1, but he will be ready for action today having been rested in midweek against Schalke.
'Our form is much better than it was when we played Chelsea last season,' he said. 'Key players are all playing well. Missing out on the title by one point last season was a disappointment.
'If we'd drawn at home to Chelsea instead of losing, we would have been champions so it was tough to take.'
United beat Chelsea home and away in the Champions League quarter-finals but Giggs does not set much store by that.
'Obviously, we have the confidence of knowing we can beat them, but this is a different game. It probably won't have any bearing.'
Darren Fletcher, who made his comeback from a debilitating virus against Schalke, may be on the bench for the showdown.

Rio’s European Highlights

http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lkr4qfOuBY1qadnaj.jpg

Rio Ferdinand recalls his favourite European moments to date with the Reds.

Favourite game:
The final in Moscow for obvious reasons, but I’d also say the 7-1 win over Roma. It was just one of those nights when everything clicked.

First goal:
I got my first against Deportivo (in 2001) when I was at Leeds. My first for United was at Dynamo Kiev (in 2007). We won 4-2 and I scored with a header.

Favourite away ground:
I’d say Celtic Park for the atmosphere. The roar before the game when we were there two seasons ago is one of the loudest I’ve heard.

Best Old Trafford atmosphere:
Barcelona in the (2008) semi-final. We were under a lot of pressure but the noise the crowd made was incredible and they really drove us on.

Best away atmosphere:
Besiktas. I didn’t play in the game (in 2009) but I was at the stadium and I spent a lot of the night watching their fans rather than the match!

Toughest opponent:
Probably Raúl when he was at Madrid. He’s a striker who’s always on the move - it’s almost like he runs on his tiptoes, and he has a habit of ghosting into great positions.

Best moment:
Moscow. The emotions that night were incredible. To win it, and for me to be captain, was an unbelievable feeling and it’s something we want to repeat.

Wanita Penguntit Ferdinand Dipenjara 10 Pekan

(afp/fjr)

Rio makes Final promise
11/05/2011 15:00, Report by Adam Marshall

http://www.manutd.com/~/media/F73D8340A2C541DFA5DE4A6B06BB9E8D.ashx?h=179&la=ar-SA&w=240&rgn=139,20,748,473

Rio Ferdinand has promised Barcelona will face the 'real Manchester United' on 28 May at Wembley.

The Reds defender is clearly still smarting from the 2-0 Champions League final defeat to the Catalan giants in Rome and is determined that things will be different this time around.

Although appreciating the world-class array of attacking talent in Pep Guardiola's side, Ferdinand is backing his team-mates to set the record straight.

"I have never watched 2009 again," he revealed. "But matches like that are hard to forget as it is clear in your head.

"If you want to sit and think about games like that they come up quite easily. It is like bringing something up on the internet. I have not watched it but I have re-run it in my head a few times. We never played. We never got on the ball. We weren't Manchester United that day. This time we will give a better account of ourselves.

"On the way back we were sitting there thinking if only we had gone out and played and been the real Manchester United, it would have been different.

"I wouldn't mind it being the best Manchester United against the worst Barcelona. We will try and do whatever it takes to win. They always say you don't want to come off the pitch with any regrets. There were regrets that night."

Ferdinand respects Barcelona but is not in awe of the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi.

"You watch the games and see them on TV and they have fantastic players," he continued.

"They have got three of the best in the world playing in their team if you look at the awards that were given out. But it is not just down to them. If you mark one player out of their team, you still have another 10 to contend with.

"I am sure they will be thinking the same about us. They are more experienced, they know how to win and have consistently won things over the last two or three years.

"You see that aura a little bit. We had that here. We felt in the tunnel we had the game won. But that won't happen with us. We have experienced players who have played against a lot of great teams. When we look around our own changing room, that instils you with confidence."

Wirawan Kusuma | Tjatur Wiharyo

(SKY)

Ferdinand Kagumi Nasri
Okdwitya Karina Sari - detiksport

Tetapi nama lain yakni Nasri lantas muncul.

"Para pemain Prancis punya sejarah bagus disini (Inggris). Thierry Henry sangat fantastis.

Kosakata Ferdinand Paling Buruk
Narayana Mahendra Prastya - detiksport

Performa Ferdinand di dunia Twitter mendapatkan kritik dari mantan editor media News of The World, Piers Morgan.

Arya Perdhana - detiksport

http://images.detik.com/content/2011/06/30/76/riogetty.jpg

Dituding Selingkuh, Rio Ferdinand Murka

According to Rio Ferdinand, What the Premier League Needs Is an All-Star Game

http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv189/zudomiriku/zudo%20II/118224081_crop_650x440.jpg

Manchester United are in the US on their annual pre-season American Domination tour, which includes a match against the MLS All-Stars on July 27th. Rio Ferdinand must be a fan of the concept.

It was actually the Major League Baseball All-Star Game that got Rio’s brain churning. Hopping on Twitter after coverage of the Home Run Derby, Ferdinand suggested that maybe the Premier League needed an all-star game of its own.

http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv189/zudomiriku/zudo%20II/Rio_All_Star_Game.png

Even now, Rio is taking suggestions for all-star teams. North v. South is an interesting idea, but Wayne Rooney brings up a good point.

http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv189/zudomiriku/zudo%20II/Rooney_AllStar.png

Perhaps, as Rio later suggested, it should be league champions versus an all-star team made up of players from the rest of the Prem. Which would mean Manchester United v. all-stars this season…so no matter what possibility is suggested, Man United seems to be involved as a complete team. Is this something we really need?

That basically means Rio is promoting another friendly for Man United, but suggesting the other team be made up of guys that have never played together before and would probably be easy to beat.

We’re on to you, Rio.

Ferdinand Tepis Cap 'Kurang Pengalaman' untuk Skuad MU
Kris Fathoni W - detiksport

Manchester - Manchester United menghadapi musim baru setelah kehilangan sejumlah pemain seniornya.

(krs/arp)

Ferguson warns Ferdinand his Man Utd place not assured

Posted On Sunday, 24th July 2011

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Rio Ferdinand to prove his fitness this season after only starting 19 Premier League matches in their title-winning campaign last term.

The Reds central defensive options have been strengthened with the signing of Phil Jones, to go along with Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans – which all adds pressure on Ferdinand to perform.

“Rio will have to stay fit, that is the key for him,” Ferguson is quoted by the Sunday Mirror.

“As he gets older, he won’t play all the games because we have Chris Smalling, Jonny Evans and Phil Jones who are the best young centre backs in the country.

“Any one of them can come in.”

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/203657/Rio-Ferdinand-in-White-House-alert/

RIO FERDINAND IN WHITE HOUSE ALERT

MANCHESTER United star Rio Ferdinand sparked a White House security alert by posting pictures of the US President’s guards and private rooms on Twitter.

The Manchester United football ace Rio Ferdinand was rumbled by secret service spooks who removed the images from his site and mobile phone.

Ferdinand, 32, was bemused his innocent “holiday snaps” were ruled a security breach during his team’s tour of the Washington landmark.

But his brush with the US secret service left him rattled.

He Tweeted how he felt like he was being watched by a Jack Bauer-type character. Bauer is played by Kiefer Sutherland, 44, in TV spy series 24.

The £30m centre-back was visiting the White House with his team as part of their pre-season US tour.

A meeting with Barack Obama, 49, was scrapped as the President battled to solve America’s debt crisis.

In a series of messages sent directly from the White House, Ferdinand posted a picture of himself in the state dining room followed by the message: “Ma chilling in the ‘State Dining Room’ no sign of any tea bags!!”

But trouble flared when he posted a photo of some of the President’s security personnel.

He wrote: “The security needs beefing up here at the White House....!!” Seconds later the picture had mysteriously vanished.

“Whoa....some1 has got into my phone + taken down my pics off twitter....this is deep...is jack Bauer in Washington?!

“What an experience having the opportunity to go into the White House, thank you.....now where are my pics????

“My pic of the security was removed quick, rapido, sharpish, fast....they don’t play here in DC...I feel like I’m on 24 right now.”

Ferdinand later trained as normal with his team but the security alert was clearly still on his mind.

He wrote: “Training just done in DC....feels kinda weird...feel like I’m being watched by some undercover jack Bauer type dudes...phone hacked into etc.”

Earlier the wise-cracking star had joked that the President had been Tweeting him about their impending meeting.

He messaged: “Just landed in Washington, kinda hot still! A guy of huge importance has just DM’d me + asked me to visit him...just checking my schedule!!”

A spokesman for the White House said they were not able to discuss “security issues”

Rio Ferdinand wants his Young Peers to feel the Aroma of Success
AUGUST 18, 2011 ilovemanutd

http://m.gmgrd.co.uk/res/791.$plit/C_71_article_1456048_image_list_image_list_item_0_ image.jpg?17%2F08%2F2011%2014%3A42%3A39%3A341

The big man on the defending line will be out for a 6 week rest after a hamstring injury facing the Hawthorns, United’s Rio Ferdinand will have to sit it out when his team clashes with rivals Tottenham and Arsenal in the coming games. Even with his boots not damaging the carpet grass and leaving pint size holes, his words of wisdom still carries a weighted advice, one that is especially crucial to the young players of the Red Devils.

The 32 year old will miss the opening Champions League game and England’s Euro 2012 double-header against Bulgaria and Wales next month, but still ralies on by asking his young teammates to feel the taste of success, and always carry the desire to win and seek that sense of victory going into games.

“Getting that continuity, that smell and taste of success is something that all the young guys who have come into the squad and not won anything yet need to feel,” he said.

“They need to sense it and become a part of it. I am sure they will enjoy doing that this year.”

Ferdinand came from Leeds United for a £29.1million record transfer ticket, where after he won his first title in his first season. That goes on to four championships in five years and three Champions League finals appearances, the mental picture that is etched his the defender’s mind now makes it very hard to accept losing games, something that will be the last thing you would want to happen.

“Maybe people will look back and say this was a golden period,” said Ferdinand.

“It is certainly up there as one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

“It is great to be part of it because the memories of not winning things are awful.”

“This place is like a morgue after losing a game. It is depressing. You don’t want to walk to the shops. You are embarrassed walking anywhere.”

“If you want to be successful, you have to remember those feelings and hope they don’t come back.”

'Karier Ferdinand di Timnas Inggris Mendekati Akhir'
Rossi Finza Noor - detiksport

London - Karier Rio Ferdinand di timnas Inggris diklaim eks arsitek The Three Lions, Terry Venables, mendekati akhir.

Rio: Experience still essential

http://www.manutd.com/~/media/F9DF58CA492146FAA6D7BADF46D3D190.ashx?h=179&la=ar-SA&w=240&rgn=0,11,788,598

It’s been a stop-start to the 2011/12 season for Rio Ferdinand due to injury but as he told United Review and ManUtd.com, the long-serving defender is still thrilled with the way*the Reds*have opened the campaign...

How high is the squad's confidence after a perfect start in the league?
I don’t think it could be much higher, although nobody’s getting carried away. A lot of us have been around long enough to know a good start doesn’t guarantee you anything. I think we caught Arsenal and Tottenham at good times, so that knowledge helps us to keep our feet on the ground. That said, we’ve obviously been happy with our form. Things are looking good and we’re enjoying playing football.

What’s been the key to this great opening spell?
It’s hard to put your finger on it. The freshening up of the squad has certainly helped. We lost a few players at the end of last season and there was a lot of pressure on the team to cope with those losses. People were asking if the players that were left here were good enough or if the players we signed were good enough… But the young lads and the new signings have come into the team and stepped up to the mark and done the job.

On a personal level, have you been frustrated with your own start?
Yeah, I have. Pre-season went so well for me. Every time we trained I was there and I didn’t have any trouble with injuries. Things felt really good, but then in the first league game of the season I picked up a little hamstring niggle, which was really frustrating because I’ve been doing everything I can off the field to ensure I’m fit.

The introduction of youth this season couldn’t have gone much smoother…
That’s right. The young lads have been terrific, but our good start owes as much to some of the other players as it does them. Look at Anderson, for instance. He’s been here four years, he had his first proper pre-season and he’s started brilliantly. Wayne’s obviously started like a house on fire, Chicharito banged in two goals in his first start… These players, the ones who already know their way around the Premier League, have been just as important.

Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have impressed. How highly do you rate them?
They’re top quality players and the good thing about them is that they can both play in different positions. They can both play at right-back and Phil can also play in midfield a little bit. Those sorts of players add a lot to the squad and they’re a big reason why the manager felt he was able to let John O’Shea go. Phil and Chris are both great players with great futures ahead of them.

Presumably you’re happy to help them learn even though they could replace you one day?
Absolutely. That’s part and parcel of playing football. I remember when I was a young player trying to get into the first-team and the senior pros would help me, so I always make myself available to them if they have any questions, and I’ll pass on information I think may help. I want to be the older pro in the changing room who’s easy to talk to and somebody young players can come to for advice.

Have the young players’ performances got the more senior players worried?
I don’t think anybody’s worried about losing their place. Having these guys come through and perform well just adds to the competition and it’s up to you to stand up and fight for your place and show the manager what you’re capable of. You don’t see anybody sulking.

So you’re confident the experienced players still have a part to play?
Absolutely. Come the end of the season experience is essential and it counts for a lot. That’s when the medals are being handed out, you’re playing in high-pressure situations every week and you’re fighting for the league title. In those situations you need youth and energy but you can’t do without the players who have been there and done it before.

£500,000 own goal: Rio Ferdinand faces huge bill after judge rules paper was right to reveal his 13-year affair

Married England footballer Rio Ferdinand’s attempts to suppress details of a long-term affair were crushed in the High Court yesterday – leaving him with a £500,000 bill.

In a landmark victory for press freedom, a judge ruled that banning publication would not be in the public interest.

Mr Justice Nicol said that Ferdinand, a former England captain, had a duty to maintain high standards ‘on and off the field’.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/09/29/article-2043331-06ED079F000005DC-191_468x671.jpg
The article claimed that Rio Ferdinand (pictured with his wife Rebecca Ellison) ended the relationship with Carly Storey within days of being handed the England skipper's armband in February 2010

But he has instead been left with a legal bill in the region of £500,000.

The judge ruled that the Sunday Mirror – the newspaper which printed the story of the affair – had a right to freedom of expression which outweighed Ferdinand’s right to keep his sex life private.

He said: ‘At one level it was a “kiss and tell” story. Even less attractively, it was a “kiss and paid for telling” story, but stories may be in the public interest even if the reasons behind the informant providing the information are less than noble.’

He said Ferdinand was seen by many as a ‘role model’, and the article legitimately contributed to the debate about his suitability for the England captaincy.

The ruling comes amid a climate of creeping privacy laws that has seen a series of high-profile figures use the Human Rights Act to gain injunctions.

Overturning centuries of press freedom, judges have begun routinely gagging the media over well-known figures’ affairs and use of prostitutes.

One judge this year banned newspapers from revealing that disgraced Royal Bank of Scotland chief executive Sir Fred Goodwin had a long-term affair with a senior colleague during the chaos of the global banking crisis.

Even after that ruling was relaxed on appeal, it remains illegal to reveal his lover’s name.

Ferdinand, 32, brought his privacy case over an April 2010 article in which interior designer Carly Storey gave her account of their 13-year relationship.

Under the headline ‘My affair with England captain Rio’, Miss Storey – who was paid £16,000 for her revelations – told how they had met in 1996, and continued meeting for sex even after he married Rebecca Ellison in June 2009. It was only when Ferdinand was promoted to the England captaincy in February 2010 that he ended the affair.

He was given the captain’s job after John Terry was forced to resign following the failure of his own attempts to use injunctions to keep secret his affair with team-mate Wayne Bridge’s former girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel.

The judge heard that Ferdinand had gone on record in 2006 boasting about how he had cleaned up his life. It was noted that prior to 2006 Ferdinand had ‘something of a wild reputation’, but in January of that year featured in a News of the World interview portraying him as a reformed character.

The player vowed not to cheat on his partner Miss Ellison, and repeated the theme in his autobiography and other interviews, the court heard.

But his action to protect his image backfired when the court heard in June that he had alleged affairs with ten other women.

Mirror Group newspapers’ barrister Gavin Millar told the court Ferdinand’s case was all about ‘the effect of the 2010 Sunday Mirror article on the public image he has so painstakingly constructed for himself’.

He added: ‘He has misled the public over a period of years. His skilful self-publicising since 2006 painting himself as now a role model for the young, a faithful partner and devoted father, has brought admiration and public respect. But this was not the truth and the admiration was not deserved as the article demonstrates.’

Ferdinand claimed he had not seen Miss Storey for six years when the story appeared, and that the article was ‘a gross invasion of my privacy’.

But Judge Nicol dismissed his case and said: ‘The balancing exercise favours the defendant’s right of freedom of expression over the claimant’s right of privacy.’

‘[The England captaincy] was a job that carried with it an expectation of high standards. In the views of many the captain was expected to maintain those standards off, as well as on, the pitch.’

He rejected an application from the footballer’s lawyer for an immediate appeal, saying it had no prospect of success. Ferdinand now faces paying his own and the Sunday Mirror’s costs, totalling £500,000.

Last night his law firm, Simons Muirhead and Burton, said it would be going to the Court of Appeal to challenge the judgment, and added: ‘It is our view that these are clearly private matters that ought never to have been published.’

United star could become 'new Beckham' - reports

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand a target for Chicago Fire

Chicago Fire will reportedly approach Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand proposing a potential switch to Major League Soccer.

According to the Daily Mail, the American team want to make Ferdinand the 'new David Beckham' of the MLS, following the latter signing for LA Galaxy in 2007.

Ferdinand is out of contract with United at the end of next season and, due to lower US tax rates, Chicago are likely to be able to match the 33-year-old's current wages.

The United centre-back has made only 48 appearances for the Old Trafford club since October 2009 due to persistent injury troubles and could now be offered a fresh start elsewhere.

Ferdinand is said to already be aware of the interest from Chicago and has not ruled out leaving United for the MLS at some stage in his career.

Meanwhile, the England defender is desperate to force his way into Fabio Capello's squad for next summer's European Championships.

Ferdinand has been displaced for Friday's crunch clash with Montenegro by United teammate Phil Jones, who was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson as a long-term replacement for the former Leeds man.

(espn/mxm)

Ferdinand Chicago Fire link denied

Chicago want Rio to make MLS move

Rio Ferdinand wants to stay at Manchester United for another two years, according to sources close to the player.

Ferdinand has been linked with a move to Chicago Fire in the States, but the central defender is not quite ready yet to follow the David Beckham path to America.

The source told ESPNsoccernet on Wednesday that Ferdinand is "very happy" at United and that there are no plans to leave with no discussions taking place about a desire to quit Old Trafford.

Ferdinand has just under two years left on a contract signed in 2008 to take him to the end of the 2012-13 season, and his camp have denied receiving interest from America.

The Fire also insist they have made no moves for Ferdinand, despite the obvious attraction.

"We have watched and admired the play of Rio Ferdinand for a number of years, and we would be thrilled to have a player of his quality join the Chicago Fire Soccer Club,'' said a club statement. "However, there is no substance to these current reports that the Fire is negotiating with Manchester United and the player to bring him to Chicago.''

The former England captain is 33 in November and said he wants to remain at a club with which he has a strong affinity.

When asked about the Chicago Fire link on Twitter, Ferdinand responded: "I love everything about playing for MUFC, to be a part of the great history + be a part of creating some.'' It cannot be ruled out, however, that Ferdinand might well have signed his final contract at Old Trafford.

When this contract expires, then there is every chance Ferdinand would be lured to the States, in preference to Russia or the Middle East, where there are clubs now capable of paying him as much as his £130,000-week contract, or perhaps even more.

Although Ferdinand has been left out of the England team for the final Euro 2012 qualifier, he still wants to be pushing for a place in the finals in the summer.

Ferdinand would also like a final crack at the World Cup two years later, and any move away from Old Trafford would virtually wipe out a final opportunity on the world stage.

Fabio Capello's reign will be over next summer, and Ferdinand will need to be playing at the highest level to stand any chance of regaining his England place under a new coach.

Those two years left at Old Trafford on his current contract are the perfect time scale in which to consider his future. And he would be in a far more powerful position to dictate his terms if he left Old Trafford on a free transfer in two years.

The former Leeds and West Ham star has struggled with injury for the last three years and those problems are the reason why speculation about his future has suddenly resurfaced.

"It has been a very frustrating period for all concerned," Ferdinand's long-standing friend and representative Jamie Moralee said. "It doesn't matter whether it is the 10th year, the 11th year or the 13th, when the time is right, we will sit down with the club and talk about it.

"But for now it is not on the agenda. The only thing that matters is getting back out on the pitch for Manchester United on a regular basis again because there is so much he still wants to achieve with them."

Ferdinand's wide-ranging business interests, including his own restaurant in Manchester and digital magazine, suggest he will not be short of things to occupy his mind when retirement eventually beckons.

Sangat sulit....

Rio gunning for title No. 20

ESPNsoccernet - October 9, 2011

Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United's imperious home form can see the club claim their 20th league title this season.

Last season saw United overtake Liverpool's 18 titles, and the foundation for that triumph was 18 victories in 19 league games at Old Trafford.

This time around, United have won all four games at home, beating Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Norwich, and Ferdinand is optimistic about their chances of being crowned domestic champions once more.

"There is such belief in the squad, we are gunning for title No. 20," he told the Daily Star Sunday. "We believe Old Trafford is a fortress and that is a great base for us to build on.

"That's the belief we've got. That's the belief the fans have got. Many teams come here knowing it's going to be a long battle. It is the best stadium in the world to play in. The atmosphere, the fans - it's electric."

"I think the biggest thing at Old Trafford is that teams can go one or two goals up against us and even if they walk in at half-time, two-up, then there's a good chance we will come back and win the game."

He added: "It comes from the manager - he has got a winning mentality and wants to win all the time. It rubs off on the team.

"You have to have a certain number of players who have been here for a while who can take that on board. They can address that in the dressing room - and we have got experience at the club."

Rio: I love to defend

http://www.manutd.com/~/media/0275D355F89F4241A6D4BE1EE743381B.ashx?h=179&la=ar-SA&w=240&rgn=130,0,637,377

we turn our attention to defenders and talk to Rio Ferdinand about the art of stopping goals…

Everyone loves to watch free-flowing football and see great goals, but essentially your job is to destroy that beauty…
I know everybody loves to watch players scoring goals but I equally enjoy stopping them. For me, to make a good block or to keep a clean sheet is as good as scoring a goal. It hasn’t always been that way – when I was a kid I used to love scoring – but I’ve grown into that and that’s what I enjoy now. As a centre-half you look at the 'goals against' column before the 'goals for' column. I admit there are times when I love to sit down and watch the beautiful game and admire great goals, but not if they’re scored against us!

What about when United concede a really great goal – what percentage of you (if any) is admiring the goal?
None. Certainly not at the time. If we go on to win the game then maybe you can sit down afterwards and watch it back and talk about its merits, but even then you’ll probably start dissecting it and pulling apart the move to see what could have been done to prevent it. Of course, there are times when you just have to hold your hands up and admit there was nothing you could have done. I remember playing Chelsea in 2005 and Tiago scoring a belter from long-range that nobody would have saved. What can you do about that? I guess you just have to make sure that next time you don’t give somebody the space to take a shot in the first place.

Are you someone like Alan Hansen who looks at goals from a defender’s point of view?
Always. Absolutely. The other day I watched back Chicharito's first goal against Bolton, when he ran across the front post and poked the ball in at the near post. But before he made that run he made two other movements to shake off his defender. And when a striker does that it’s incredibly hard to defend against. I think if I was a coach then I’d put that goal on DVD and I wouldn’t even send my team out to train – I’d just make them watch that goal because that tells you all you need to know. I’d tell them to sit down and watch because this is what you need to do when the ball goes out to wide areas. It was absolutely brilliant.

How difficult is it to defend against good movement?
You can defend against it if you’re on top of your game and concentrating at a high level but it definitely makes your life much harder as a defender. If a striker makes a forward movement and you see it, you’re automatically going to take a step in the same direction to combat that. But if he checks back again and you lose him for a split second, he can get the time and space he needs to punish you. If forwards run in straight lines and don’t try to pull defenders all around the penalty area, then you start to get a feel for where they’re going to be when the ball goes out wide to the wingers. That makes it easy for you to defend against them. But if the striker’s always moving and you’re not sure where he’s going to move next – if he keeps you guessing – then it’s so much more difficult. We’ve got players here now who do that – players like Chicharito and Wayne Rooney, who’s bringing a lot more of that into his game now. And Louis Saha used to be a master at it.

Do you think defenders who come up against Chicharito are worried about him?
Yeah, for sure, because not a lot of strikers make the sorts of runs he does. It’s physically demanding – you have to be really fit to make those movements for 90 minutes. If I was a coach I’d be telling every young striker that he should take note of how Chicharito plays because that’s what you have to do if you want to be a top player. It will certainly give you a head start.

Would you rather defend against a burly forward or a forward like Chicharito?
I don’t really have a preference. Each sort of striker poses his own threat. If you’ve got somebody who’s tall and strong in the middle then he doesn’t have to move as much as somebody who’s shorter because he’ll automatically have more chance of winning a header and dominating a physical battle. But if you’re shorter then you might have to check your run and make one or two extra movements in order to get onto the end of a cross.

As a defender, how do you prepare to play against different strikers?
Yeah, definitely. Before games you’ll watch videos and go through possible scenarios in your head so you’re mentally prepared. I wouldn’t prepare to play against somebody like Kevin Davies in the same way as I would if I were coming up against Ian Wright or Andy Cole.

You’ve talked about Diego Maradona being your football inspiration, and being agog as a seven-year-old at the famous mazy dribble he scored against England. What would you have done to stop that one?
I don’t know if I would have been able to stop him. I think the only way you could have prevented that goal was if you took him out! But you’d have had to get close enough to him in the first place…

Ferdinand: Anfield Tempat yang Indah untuk Menang

http://i.okezone.com/content/2011/10/15/45/515554/BS0T1vj3tS.jpg

Rio Ferdinand battling age and injury at Manchester United
The most elegant centre-back of his generation is out of the England squad and running out of time

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Football/Pix/pictures/2011/10/14/1318615254480/rio-ferdinand-003.jpg

Rio Ferdinand has been reduced to playing just 40% of Manchester United's games. Photograph: Tom Jenkins for the Guardian
On the face of it, it is exactly the kind of setting – Liverpool versus Manchester United, with the heat of the battle rising dangerously close to intolerable – where Rio Ferdinand can demonstrate there are still days when he can beat the new opponent in his life.

Ferdinand is 33 next month, still a formidable exponent in the art of defending but one whose talents are accompanied by the growing sense that the lights are dimming on his career faster than he would like. It is a point of his life when Ferdinand will understand what Jack Nicklaus was talking about, on his 50th birthday, when it was put to him that age is the one opponent even the greatest champion cannot beat. The older you get, Nicklaus explained, the stronger the wind gets – and suddenly you find it is always in your face.

The most elegant centre-half of his generation plays 40% of United's games these days. He still provides a calm and assurance that is ideal for facing the loathing of an Anfield crowd, but this is now a man whose career has been ambushed by injuries to the point where Fabio Capello left him out of the England squad to face Montenegro and Sir Alex Ferguson has also begun to speak of a player with diminished responsibilities.

Ferguson now uses the past tense when he reflects on Ferdinand's international career, talking of him being "a bit unfortunate" but with no questioning of Capello's decision. "Maybe Fabio is looking more to the future now. Rio is 32 now. Some managers think that way and there is nothing wrong with that, looking to the future."

Ferdinand has long-term issues with his lower back that have led to recurrent problems with his calf and hamstring muscles. He has tried acupuncture and prolotherapy injections. He has experimented with yoga and clocked up thousands of miles seeing specialists. Every so often, he returns and plays a few games. But then the cycle kicks in again: a new injury, another spell of rehab, more frustration. He has not managed four successive games for almost 11 months and the inescapable truth is that he seems to find it impossible to put together a decent run of matches. "It's a fact, and Rio knows it," Ferguson said. "We wish it was better but it's not."

For Ferdinand, it has been a long and difficult battle. Ferguson talked at length about the player's attributes – "you can't dismiss the kind of experience Rio Ferdinand brings" – and there is the definite sense, despite the occasional tweets about his favourite cartoons and inopportune farting, that the player is now at an age when he appears to have heeded the last line of his 2006 autobiography that "it's time to grow up".

But the Capello camp have been troubled for a while and the alarm bells rang the loudest when Ferdinand was left out of United's team for their last league game, against Norwich City. The previous week, he had found Peter Crouch a difficult opponent in the 1-1 draw with Stoke City. Then Basel came to Old Trafford in the Champions League and scored three times as Capello's assistant, Franco Baldini, watched from the stands. Capello decided there was no point picking Ferdinand and went for Gary Cahill as John Terry's new partner. Capello's explanation was that he picked "the player not the name" – in other words, reputations counted for nothing.

Ferdinand's sympathisers can legitimately point out Cahill plays for a Bolton Wanderers side that are bottom of the Premier League and have the worst defence in the division, with 21 goals conceded in seven games. The truth, however, is that Capello's misgivings can be traced back to another October afternoon on Merseyside two years ago and a United defeat that brought home the seriousness of Ferdinand's injury difficulties.

Until that point Ferdinand had tried to get through the pain he later admitted had left him "hunched over" in the worst moments and "shuffling around like an old man". Anfield, though, was no hiding place. Liverpool, on the back of four straight defeats and their worst run of form for 22 years, won 2-0 and anyone who has followed Ferdinand's career and admired his qualities – the touch, the speed, the anticipation and fierce competitive instincts – will scarcely have recognised the man Fernando Torres eluded for the opening goal. Ferdinand did not play again for three months. He has started 51 of the following 132 games for club and country.

Ferguson now says Ferdinand, even when fit, can no longer be considered a mandatory first-team pick. "The competition is so fierce now with these young lads, [Chris] Smalling, [Phil] Jones and [Jonny] Evans. Evans has been outstanding, Jones has been outstanding, Smalling has been outstanding. They're well aware, Rio and [Nemanja] Vidic, they are going to have to play to keep their places."

None of this is to denigrate an outstanding career, but Ferdinand appears to be assessing a possible future without United. The people who know him best say he is extremely realistic about his injury problems, and aware that if it continues to gnaw at his career it could conceivably be his final season at Old Trafford.

A move abroad appeals, particularly to Spain, where the warmer weather could help his back. The United States is another option and, regardless of the denials, there was something in the recent reports of Chicago Fire inviting him to consider a future in Major League Soccer. Tottenham, too, have made discreet inquiries. "A fit Rio is still as good as anybody," their manager, Harry Redknapp, says. "I wouldn't want to upset Fergie by talking about one of his players, but he's a good player. He's been fantastic for me. I signed him when he was a little kid [at West Ham], so I love Rio."

Ferdinand is more intrigued by the possibility of moving abroad and the hope and expectation among MLS officials is that next summer United would not want a large transfer fee for someone his age and with a year remaining on his contract. Ferdinand also believes this to be the case, making it easier for a financial package to be arranged with one of the big-city American clubs. For now, all that can be said for certain is that Ferdinand is open-minded about the idea, despite the potential wrench of leaving the club where he has spent the majority of his career. By that point, he will have been at Old Trafford for 10 years.

What has also emerged, however, is that he has been frustrated at times by Ferguson's habit of talking publicly about his injury problems and feels it has done him no favours with Capello. Last season, Ferguson said in a March press conference that Ferdinand, with a calf injury, would probably not be involved again for the rest of that campaign. As it turned out, Ferdinand was back within three weeks and played nine more games, including the Champions League final. Then Ferdinand suffered a hamstring strain on the opening weekend of this season at West Bromwich Albion and Ferguson said he would be out for six weeks. Ferdinand was back within three.

His problem for England is that Capello needs someone who will be able to play every three or four days in next summer's European Championship – and Ferdinand is clearly not that man. For United, his ability is not in question. It is just that, at the higher end of football, a thirtysomething with seemingly never-ending injury problems can find the twilight and the no-light of his career merging far too quickly.

Rio Ferdinand salutes Manchester United spirit

http://m.gmgrd.co.uk/res/978.$plit/C_71_article_1461951_image_list_image_list_item_0_ image.jpg?15%2F10%2F2011%2014%3A16%3A49%3A103

Rio Ferdinand saluted Manchester United's spirit after the 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

Steven Gerrard's free-kick found its way through a United wall weakened when Ryan Giggs left a gap in it.

But substitute Javier Hernandez headed United level and Liverpool were unable to find a winner. David De Gea made an excellent save from Jordan Henderson and when Martin Skrtel blazed over it was certain that United would remain six points ahead of Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League table.

It was Ferdinand's foul on Charlie Adam which led to Gerrard's free-kick, with opposite camps feeling either that the Scot made the most of minimal contact or that Ferdinand was fortunate to escape a second yellow card.

"There was the slightest contact, but I don't think it was enough to make a fella of 12 or 13 stone fall on the floor," Ferdinand insisted.

He praised the character of his side, though, adding: "They created a couple of chances towards end but for most of the second half I thought we controlled it and played good football. In the final third, if we'd made those good decisions, we could have had opportunities."

"We showed the resilience you need to come places like this and get a point."

I'm used to being written off, claims Rio as Man United defender hits back at critics

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/10/17/article-0-0E61F36600000578-156_468x383.jpg

Rio Ferdinand intends to ignore the obituaries being penned about his career.
The 32-year-old is well aware the rapid rise of Phil Jones has led to questions being asked about his own contributions for Manchester United and England.

Centre of attention: Ferdinand played the full 90 minutes in United's draw
Ferdinand was left out of Fabio Capello's squad for last week's Euro 2012 qualifier with Montenegro, the England coach subsequently confirming the defender had simply not played enough games to warrant inclusion.
That was a legacy of the hamstring injury Ferdinand suffered at West Brom on the opening day of the season, the latest in a long line of muscular problems that have plagued him since he was struck down by a back injury at the end of 2008.

With Jones excelling on his debut in Podgorica and Bolton's Gary Cahill forging an effective central defensive partnership with John Terry, there are plenty who feel Ferdinand will not even get to Poland and Ukraine next summer.
But the former West Ham star has heard it all before. And after an outstanding display in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Liverpool, Ferdinand confirmed he has no desire to pay any attention.
'I have had people writing me off many times in my career,' he said. 'I just go out and play. I am confident in my own ability.
'Whatever anyone writes doesn't bother me whether it is good or bad.
'I wasn't in the England squad so I just have to shrug my shoulders and get on with it.
'I am not one to sit around and moan and mope.'

If recent history is any guide, Ferdinand will be excused today's flight to Romania for the Champions League tussle with Otelul Galati in readiness for next weekend's blockbuster Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
It is the type of challenge he relishes, which is why he has enough on his plate at United without worrying about what happens with England.
'At the forefront of my mind is Manchester United and making sure we remain successful,' he said.
'I have had a couple of little niggles but I have been training hard the last couple of weeks and I feel very good.'

Ferdinand: Aku Belum 'Habis'
Okdwitya Karina Sari - detiksport

Rio Ferdinand faces his greatest fight — battling Father Time
Rio Ferdinand is standing at the crossroads today, possibly even sitting. How he performs in the Manchester derby, and whether he even starts at Old Trafford, will be scrutinised closely.

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02034/Rio_Ferdinand__2034301c.jpg

Father Time is the opponent no footballer can defeat yet Ferdinand still has the hunger to hold him off a little longer.
Ferdinand turns 33 on Nov 7 and the clock ticks ever louder, the volume raised further by the arrival of the athletic Phil Jones as a threat to Ferdinand’s place with Manchester United and England.
Ferdinand has tackled countless challenges throughout his career, some self-inflicted (like a teenage propensity for alcopops, to an unfortunate video in Ayia Napa to that missed drugs test), but a love of the game and a deep determination has seen him recover. His contract runs until the summer of 2013 but it is now that Ferdinand faces his greatest fight.
Whenever he chooses to acknowledge that twilight’s last gleaming has dissolved into night, Ferdinand will simply transfer his energy into his many other interests whether coaching or television, his fashion or restaurant pursuits or his charitable work.
Few high-profile individuals share Ferdinand’s social mobility, whether talking to the PM at No 10 or discussing knife crime with youth workers on some forsaken council estate. That ease in all walks of life is a quality Government must draw on. One day.

Ferdinand’s future is sorted. It is the present that he needs to focus totally on, giving every last bead of sweat and concentrating as centre-forwards invade his domain. He has eight months for club and country and then it could all be over at the highest level.
Even those with only a passing acquaintance of Ferdinand’s personality know of his competitive nature. In an era where few leaders can be found in the nation’s dressing rooms, Ferdinand will exhort team-mates, instructing them on the field, willing them on.
Defeat hurts. Frustration kicks in when injury inhibits him. He wants to play, wants to win.

Such essential traits were shaped in his early days on the Friary Estate in Peckham, south London. Attending the Central School of Ballet four nights a week inevitably prompted much banter but he persevered for four years because he loved it. Ferdinand’s always marched to his own rhythm.
Ambition drove him. He’s never forgotten that all the family’s possessions were comfortably accommodated in the front room of the first house he bought his mother. Now enjoying his wealth, Ferdinand is far from “flash”.
Missing that drugs test on Sept 23, 2003, was undeniably irresponsible, deserving of the ensuing suspension, but a sign of a butterfly mind, not a desire to conceal anything, as the Football Association later acknowledged.
His England team-mates were so furious about his eight-month ban some considered going on strike until the main militant, Gary Neville, realised there wasn’t a great appetite for withdrawing their labour.

Ferdinand remains a popular member of the squad, and influential in the bonding process. Such is the powerful United group in the England squad that it is always good when one of their number has strong links with other club-related clusters. Ferdinand, for instance, knows Chelsea’s Frank Lampard and Spurs’ Jermain Defoe well from West Ham.
Much of the bonhomie faded from the atmosphere at Rustenburg when Ferdinand suffered that injury in training on the eve of the 2010 World Cup.
But time flies and next summer looks a watershed. It is hard to see Ferdinand being involved in qualifying for Brazil 2014. Some critics, harshly, contend Ferdinand should even not be considered for Euro 2012, although knowledge gained from 81 caps should not be jettisoned lightly.
Fabio Capello has promised he will again give youth a chance in the forthcoming friendlies with Spain and Sweden, indicating further opportunities for Jones and Chris Smalling as the England manager assesses his options for Euro 2012.

With the captain John Terry guaranteed a starting place by Capello, Ferdinand has work to do. He has never been afforded compete respect by Capello, who failed to inform him that he was losing the armband. Their relationship will again come under intense analysis in the coming months.
At United, Sir Alex Ferguson invariably speaks supportively of Ferdinand, frequently noting his “experience”. Whether Ferdinand begins against City may depend on Roberto Mancini’s attack. If Edin Dzeko starts, Ferguson could entrust the Bosnian to Nemanja Vidic and Jones. If the quicker Mario Balotelli leads the line then there is a strong case for Ferdinand ahead of Vidic, who is still easing himself back slowly and not particularly smoothly, after injury.

As Liverpool do with Steven Gerrard, United are ‘managing’ Ferdinand, ensuring that a player with injury issues does not over-reach himself and is ready for specific games like Anfield last week.
Yet the United centre-half was caught out by Charlie Adam’s run, whatever his complaints about the Liverpool midfielder milking the slightest of contacts. As well as Jones, Ferdinand must deal with Smalling and Jonny Evans. The challenge intensifies.
Listening to Ferguson talk about how he regenerates his team, responding to challenges, is a reminder that United wait for no man, that sentiment is a word not in the Scot’s substantial lexicon.

“When Chelsea won the title two years in a row, we had to take stock of the situation, where we were going, and how we were going to get that title back and get to that level gain,’’ said Ferguson. “It was a wake-up call. We looked at the club differently in terms of youth in the team and bigger squads.
“Last season we lost five players, all in their 30s — Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, John O’Shea and Wes Brown — which was an incredible piece of experience to lose from a football club.
"But we married that with Ferdinand, Vidic and [Patrice] Evra — late 20s, early 30s in Rio’s case — and we’ve still got the experience of Ryan Giggs, Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen.

“We’ve still retained good experience but the important ingredient that we’ve brought in is we have brought five players [Jones, Smalling, Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley and David de Gea] with youth in them, who have galvanized us really well this season. That’s the way we are going to be now. We have to look at youth as the fillip to maintain the standards we want to set.”
The words were not uttered as a warning to the older generation, simply a statement of fact. Sunday may give an indication of how important Rio Ferdinand remains to Manchester United.

Confirmed: Rio Ferdinand to join US side

Rio Ferdinand will captain the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Wembley on Sunday – three hours after playing in the Manchester derby.

United owner Malcolm Glazer, who also holds a majority stake in the Buccaneers, will fly England defender Ferdinand from Old Trafford to the NFL date with the Chicago Bears by private helicopter.

Ferdinand will land in London in time to take part in the coin toss as the Buccaneers’ honorary captain - although he will be sat safely in the crowd when the sacking starts.

It is not known whether Glazer and his sons will be at the seismic derby with United's noisy neighbours, which kicks off at 1.30pm, or the American football showpiece or both

An NFL spokesman said: “We cannot reveal the travel plans of franchise owners.”

Ferdinand, also an avid follower of NBA basketball, is expected to be airborne within minutes of final whistle against Manchester City to complete a unique sporting double bill.

The defender revealed his plans to play for United and skipper the Buccaneers on Twitter, saying: “After the derby (going for the win) on Sunday, I’m going to Wembley to watch the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs the Chicago Bears... love me some NFL”

RIO FERDINAND AND PATRICE EVRA FACE SIR ALEX FERGUSON AXE

SIR ALEX FERGUSON is set to wield the axe on Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra for Manchester United's trip to Everton this weekend.

Fergie is still fuming at United's humiliating derby defeat to Manchester City and is ready to make the high-profile duo scapegoats for the thrashing.

The United boss blasted the pair in the wake of the record 6-1 hammering and blamed them for the fact his side conceded three late goals.

Now he is considering leaving them out of the side at Goodison Park on Saturday as United look to get their Premier League campaign back on track.

Both Ferdinand and Evra have produced some average form so far this season and Fergie is seriously considering ringing the changes at the back.

The ruthless Scot is keen to remind his squad that he won’t put up with a drop in standards and that last week’s disaster was unacceptable.

He is expected to recall Nemanja Vidic, while either Chris Smalling or Phil Jones will partner him in the centre of defence.

Roma eyeing shock Manchester swoop
Roma could make a shock move to bring Carlos Tevez and Rio Ferdinand from Manchester to Rome during the January transfer window.

The Serie A side are aiming for loan bids for Tevez from Manchester City, and Ferdinand from Manchester United, according to reports in the Daily Mail, in order to reinforce the squad at manager Luis Enrique's disposal.

Currently languishing in seventh spot on the Serie A table, the American-backed club are looking at rejuvenating their season with the Manchester duo.

Further reports indicate that Ferdinand is the more likely of the two to be tempted seriously by the offer, with reports from Italy suggesting that his relationship with England general manager Franco Baldini making it hard for the Englishman to turn the Italians down.
Baldini has an executive role with the Giallorossi, and will be aware that Ferdinand needs to jump-start his career to regain his spot in Fabio Capello's Three Lions, after a series of injuries has cast the defender out of the spotlight.

The arrivals of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling at Old Trafford has not helped his cause, which could help influence his decision to leave the Red Devils.

Tevez, on the other hand, is enduring a personal hell at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, after being accused of refusing to come on as a substitute, and could possibly welcome an escape to Rome instead, though his wage packet of £250,000-a-week could prove too rich for even Roma's wealthy American owners.

Ferdinands reject Terry advances

http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv189/zudomiriku/zudo%20II/rioandantonferdinand20111027_275x155.jpg

ESPNsoccernet can reveal that Anton and Rio Ferdinand are refusing to talk to John Terry, and have declined his frantic attempts to speak with them.

Anton is currently at the centre of a racism row, after England captain Terry was accused of verbally abusing him during QPR's victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

Neither of the Ferdinand brothers have made public statements about the incident, but ESPNsoccernet spoke to them at length as they attended the launch of Pele's new sportswear brand in London on Wednesday.

The depth of the pair's anger towards Terry was clear, though they reiterated that they are not yet prepared to comment publicly.

During the event in central London, both Anton and Rio also spoke with PFA assistant chief executive Bobby Barnes, the second in command to Gordon Taylor at the players' union.

The PFA released a statement on Thursday reiterating its unflinching support for the campaign to stamp out racism in English football, with the players' union stressing it is deeply concerned by the two high-profile cases - Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra being the other - that have emerged in recent weeks.

The PFA said: "There is a proper process to be followed for such serious issues which is governed by the Football Association, as the game's regulator.

"We will assist and adhere to that process in any way which is considered appropriate, mindful that all the players are our members and as such we expect the process to be fair and transparent in establishing the facts in each case.''

The Ferdinands' cousin, former QPR and England striker Les, has urged the FA to "make a statement" by banning Terry if he is found guilty of making racist comments.

"If John Terry has said something he needs to come out and say it," he said. "If he hasn't, let's get it sorted and out of the way. I was asked to look at it on the internet and I've seen what's said - unfortunately, you are not privy to the whole conversation.

"The FA, FIFA and UEFA have been in positions where they have been able to stamp out a few problems which have reared their ugly heads in the last few years and they haven't done so or they haven't done it diligently enough.

"When you look at the punishments dished out, it lets you know these people don't think there is a racist problem in football. They need to make a statement. That means bans instead of fines - that's the only way it's going to work."

Meanwhile, QPR have denied reports that Paddy Kenny, Clint Hill and Shaun Derry have been called to give evidence in the racism inquiry.

All three are understood to be furious their names have been dragged into the saga, with Derry not even on the field of play when the alleged incident took place.

A QPR spokesman said "There is no truth in these stories whatsoever. None of the three players have been called to give evidence or will be called to give evidence.''

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas, who earlier this week said the matter was at an end after a dressing-room discussion between Terry and Anton Ferdinand, dedicated Wednesday night's Carling Cup extra-time defeat of Everton to his embattled captain.

Aku hanya menikmatinya," tuntasnya.

Ulang Tahun, Rio Ferdinand Dapat Kado Jumpsuit Dari Fans

http://klimg.com/bola.net/library/p/headline/0000059552.jpg
Foto Rio Ferdinand memakai jumpsuit pemberian fansnya. (c) Twitter

Rio Ferdinand's restaurant Rosso rates worse than local hotdog stand for cleanliness
by Brian Roberts, Daily Mirror

http://images.mirror.co.uk/upl/m4/sep2011/6/0/image-20-for-editorial-pics-26-09-2011-gallery-73100874.jpg

Rio Ferdinand’s swanky restaurant has been beaten by a lowly hot dog stand in a hygiene league.

The Man United ace’s Italian venue Rosso scored a “generally *satisfactory” three out of five in a council *cleanliness inspection.

Nearby branches of Pizza Hut and Burger King in Manchester, along with the hot dog vendor, were way ahead, scoring full marks.

And a back-street Indian takeaway and a greasy spoon cafe were considered on a par, despite being far cheaper and much less glamorous.

A council source said: “We take hygiene and *cleanliness very seriously. Just because someone famous is connected to a restaurant doesn’t mean we give any favours.”

Rosso, a popular celebrity haunt, opened in November 2009, as the brainchild of centre back Ferdinand, young *entrepreneur Adam Karim and a third, silent partner.

The restaurant did not return calls to comment.

Blatter hits back at Ferdinand

http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv189/zudomiriku/zudo%20II/247592-sepp-blatter.jpg

Sepp Blatter has responded to criticism from Rio Ferdinand regarding the FIFA president's controversial comments about racism in football and choice of photo that accompanied his clarification.

Blatter said on Wednesday he believes a racist exchange between players during a match should be reconciled with a hand shake after the final whistle.

His words have led to calls for the Swiss to resign from his position as FIFA president, with PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor among those stating he should step down.

A statement was issued by Blatter on Wednesday evening in the hope of clarifying his comments, and with it accompanied a photo of the 72-year-old standing alongside South African minister Tokyo Sexwale, who was imprisoned on Robben Island during the apartheid era.

Manchester United defender Ferdinand reacted to the choice of photo on his official Twitter account, posting: "Fifa clear up the blatter comments with a pic of him posing with a black man..I need the hand covering eyes symbol!!"

Previously, Ferdinand had contacted Blatter's account directly, writing: "@SeppBlatter your comments on racism are so condescending its [sic] almost laughable. If fans shout racist chants but shake our hands is that ok?"

Blatter has now responded to Ferdinand via Twitter. He said: "The 'black man' as you call him has a name: Tokyo Sexwale. He has done tremendous work against racism and apartheid in Africa.

"We have done several joint activities to raise awareness on the struggle against racism in South Africa. FIFA has a long standing and proud record in the area of anti-discrimination which will continue."

Ferdinand later replied to Blatter, writing: "@SeppBlatter to say what you said about racism in football spoke volumes of your ignorance to the subject."

tukar rasa kali hehe

Rio: Banyak Alasan Kenapa United Masih Bakal Ungguli City

(sun/lex)

Rio Ferdinand at Centre of Drugs Bust – Arrest Made

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is at the centre of a drugs scandal after a large amount of an illegal substance was found at his restaurant.

Police burst into Ferdinand’s ‘Rosso’ restaurant on Friday afternoon with diners looking on in amazement, as sniffer dogs were used to track down a haul of drugs hidden in a staff members locker.

It’s reported that 29 bags of cannabis were seized during the raid and a man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.

There are no suggestions linking Ferdinand with the drugs or the United star having any knowledge of them being inside his establishment.

Ditemukan 29 Kantung Ganja di Restoran Rio Ferdinand

http://klimg.com/bola.net/library/p/resto-rio-ferdinand.jpg

Bola.net - Kabar kurang enak menghampiri Rio Ferdinand.

Ferdinand Belum Tentu Bakal Jabat Terry

The Red Devils bakal menjalani laga tandang Premier League kontra Chelsea pada Minggu (5/2).

Bela Adik, Ferdinand Tolak Jabat Tangan Terry
Ferril Dennys | Hery Prasetyo

(MIR)

Wajarlah Rio kecewa, ini menyangkut kehormatan keluarganya ...

Ferdinand Sebut Penundaan Kasus Terry Sebagai Dagelan Konyol

(sun/lex)

Rio Ferdinand rules himself out of England job after John Terry stripped of captaincy

http://m.gmgrd.co.uk/res/423.$plit/C_71_article_1473020_image_list_image_list_item_0_ image.jpg?03%2F02%2F2012%2015%3A01%3A52%3A588

Rio Ferdinand does not want to be considered for the England captaincy. The Manchester United defender has been quick to rule himself out of the running to replace John Terry, who was stripped of the armband today. The FA announced that Terry would not skipper his country until after his July 9 court case where he is accused of racially abusing Ferdinand's brother Anton. Terry denies the charge. Rio took over the armband two years ago following allegations about the Chelsea captain's private life. But he was unceremoniously relieved of the duties by Fabio Capello last March when Terry was reinstated. The search is now on for the Three Lions' next skipper - but Ferdinand insists he is not interested after his previous experiences in the role.

He said on Twitter: "I don't want to be England captain after the last episode, just want to concentrate on playin for utd&if I make the squad then as ever I'll be delighted." FA chairman David Bernstein informed Terry and Capello of the decision by phone this morning. Despite being stripped of the captaincy, the player will still be eligible for England friendlies and Euro 2012. Decision An FA statement said: "Following the decision to adjourn the court case against John Terry to July, the Football Association confirm he will not captain the England team until the allegations against him are resolved." Terry has been accused of racially abusing QPR's Anton Ferdinand during a match at Loftus Road in October last year, which he denies.

Capello did not take part in the latest discussions on the captaincy, but will choose a successor, with Steven Gerrard the early favourite. The FA statement added: "The FA board expected the trial to be concluded prior to the European Championship. Further to Wednesday's confirmation that the trial will not take place until after the tournament, the board has discussed the matter in detail and has collectively decided it is in the interests of all parties that John has the responsibilities of captaincy removed at this time. "This decision has been taken due to the higher profile nature of the England captaincy, on and off the pitch, and the additional demands and requirements expected of the captain leading into and during a tournament. "The FA board can confirm that he has not been excluded from the squad and that Fabio Capello is free to select him for the Holland fixture on 29 February and the European Championship. Discussions "FA chairman David Bernstein has spoken to both John Terry and Fabio Capello to explain the facts to them.

Fabio Capello has not been involved in the FA board discussions which reached this conclusion, but understands that the FA board has authority to make this decision. "Fabio Capello will take the decision as to who will be made captain moving forward. "This decision in no way infers any suggestion of guilt in relation to the charge made against John Terry.” Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas said Terry would remain captain of the club. He said: "It's really an FA decision. I have nothing to say about it. "I don't agree with it. The statement from the FA was pretty clear on what was their decision-making. "John will continue to be our captain. It (the trial) doesn't compromise on my decision-making." Villas-Boas confirmed that Terry would miss Sunday's clash with United with a knee problem and "probably" the Everton match next Saturday.

http://klimg.com/bola.net/library/p/headline/0000068536.jpg

Euro Wind-Ups will feature top football names playing jokes on their teammates and rivals alike, while hidden cameras capture the action for plenty of You've Been Framed-style hilarity.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the ITV1 programme will coincide with the 2012 European Championship, which is set to take place in Poland and the Ukraine from June.

Ferdinand, who already has form as a mischief-maker thanks to 2006's Rio's World Cup Wind-Ups, is expected to lead the team of pranksters.

'This has the potential to be absolutely massive,' an insider told the newspaper.

'A good prank is part of the dressing-room culture in the British game, so footballers are more than qualified to star in the show.'

While Ferdinand might have already been responsible for having his teammates caught on camera, Rooney could mount a good challenge for the title of chief trickster.

In the 2010 World Cup campaign, Steven Gerrard told reporters that Rooney was definitely 'the joker in the pack'.

Karena sulit dikalahkan itulah maka banyak orang yang berharap United gagal menjadi juara liga ..

Ferdinand: United Adalah Tim Yang Sulit Dikalahkan

Ferdinand: Semua Laga Sisa Layaknya Final

http://www.supersoccer.co.id/uploads/pics/06_Ferdinand_hd_02.jpg

Ia jelas brilian."

Fergie hints at new Ferdinand deal

http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv189/zudomiriku/zudo%20II/zudo%20III/rioferdinandandsiralexfergusonmanutd20110511_275x1 55.jpg

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has left the door ajar for veteran defender Rio Ferdinand to win a new deal with the club.

Ferdinand, 33, has been at Old Trafford for almost a decade but was tipped to leave United this summer after coming under criticism from Ferguson earlier this season, with the Scot claiming he had "lost pace".

The former England captain was told that he was no longer a guaranteed first-choice for United, having previously been so ever since he arrived from Leeds in a then-club record £30 million deal in July 2010.

However, since Nemanja Vidic was ruled out for the season in December, Ferdinand has stepped up again to be the leader of the Red Devils' defence, usually alongside Jonny Evans.

Ferguson now appears ready to reward him with a new contract, though it is believed Ferdinand would need to consider a wage cut from his current figure of £115,000 per week.

"It is all down to how he feels physically himself," Ferguson said with regard to Ferdinand's long-term future at United. "What he is doing at the moment is good.

"He has no issues at all. From time to time, he gets the odd tweak in his back and we have to manage it and look after it. But it hasn't surprised me in the sense that he's still young for a centre-back.

"In normal terms, you would expect a centre-back, with his athleticism, to play well into their thirties anyway. But he had the back problem, so we've had to manage that and by managing it properly, he has adapted really well to it.

"So if you look to last week - I didn't want to play him against Bilbao but, with Jones calling off with 'flu, I played him and he also played on the Sunday against Wolverhampton."

Ferguson is also impressed with the role the 33-year-old has taken on within the squad. He said: "I keep thinking that I signed Rio Ferdinand three or four years ago because I forget he's been here for 10 years now almost, so he has taken on that role of the influential person in the dressing room.

"He's great with the players. If you can keep the players long enough for the influence to spread - because in the modern game, as we know, it's difficult to keep players for more than five or six years - it makes a difference.

"Younger players can take an example off older players in terms of the example set. They learn from the older players."

Rio Ferdinand Tanggapi Komentar Tak Sedap Vieira

(twit/lex)

Vidic: Ferdinand Selesai? Itu Omong Kosong!
Rintani Mundari - Okezone

http://img.okezone.com/content/2012/04/05/45/606383/0Pc6b3SG7o.jpg

Rio: United won't get carried away, despite Mancini's claim title battle could be over
By SPORTSMAIL REPORTER

Rio Ferdinand insists Manchester United are not getting carried away even though they head into the Easter programme with a five-point lead in the Premier League title race.
The celebrations that accompanied their last success, at Blackburn on Monday, seemed to be that of a team who felt they had almost claimed the ultimate prize.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has claimed that if United beat QPR at Old Trafford on Sunday to open up an eight-point advantage, and then his side do not cut it immediately when they take on Arsenal a couple of hours later, the battle is over.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/04/05/article-2125628-12712ECB000005DC-693_468x380.jpg
Wining feeling: united have forged ahead, but Ferdinand is refusing to get carried away

Ferdinand does not see it like that. The 33-year-old insists the fist-pumping at Ewood Park was nothing more significant than satisfaction at winning on a ground where United had recorded just two victories from their last 12 attempts.
'The significance of that reaction on Monday was blown out of all proportion,' he said.
'I have been at the club for 10 years and Blackburn has always been a hard place to go.
'We have had a lot of bad results there. A couple of years ago they stopped us from winning the league.
'We wanted to put that right and it was nice to get one back over them.'
In fact, there is nothing over-the-top about United at present. When Sir Alex Ferguson was asked on Monday about the significance of his side's present position, he completely avoided the question.
Ferdinand prefers another way, reverting to the oldest cliche in the well-worn footballing manual.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/04/05/article-2125628-12713810000005DC-852_468x367.jpg
Rover and out: United left it late to beat Blackburn (and below)

'The only thing on our minds is to win each game,' he said. 'We are not look beyond that. It is a cliche and it is boring. But that is the way it is. Black and white.
'You just have to keep ticking off the boxes.'
Nevertheless, Ferdinand can hardly deny United are in a good place, unlike their neighbours who have picked the worst possible time to experience their most disappointing sequence of results.
'We are in the position we would like to be in at this stage of the season but it is not over,' he said.
'There is a lot of football to be played between now and when the trophies are handed out.
'We have to make sure we apply ourselves in the right way. If we put in the performances and get the results we want, hopefully we will be lifting the trophy at the end of the season.'
With Nani declaring his fitness after a recent ankle injury, Ferguson has options at his disposal for a run of three matches after which much more will be known about the destination of this season's championship.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/04/05/article-2125628-12712E01000005DC-254_468x358.jpg
Red alert: City boss Mancini claims the title could be decided in the coming days

On paper, United's task is straightforward. QPR on Sunday, Aston Villa seven days later and a trip to Wigan in between. Few will be predicting anything other than nine points.
Ferdinand cautions against such optimism.
'Everyone is saying our run-in looks easy,' he said. 'But our next three games are against teams who are fighting to stay up.
'The league has become more of a level playing field anyway. A year ago no-one would have said Newcastle would beat Liverpool as convincingly as they did on Sunday. Who would have thought QPR would beat Arsenal last week?
'If you are not on your game, you will get beaten.'
Nevertheless, it has happened just once against the Hoops at Old Trafford and it would be a major surprise if Mark Hughes' side managed a repeat, even if the likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips, Bobby Zamora and Joey Barton are capable of far more than they have managed so far this term.
'We know QPR have some players who can be match winners,' said Ferdinand.
'They do have the potential to beat us. If we want the result, we will have to go out and earn it.'

Fergie tells England to pick Ferdinand for European Championships

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/04/07/article-2126639-12712ECB000005DC-182_468x286.jpg

Sir Alex Ferguson believes a rejuvenated Rio Ferdinand should go to the Euro 2012 finals this summer.
Ferguson says his 33-year-old centre-back has been the key to Manchester United's march towards a 20th League Championship title.
United have hunted down rivals Manchester City with seven straight domestic victories, and Ferdinand, written off in some circles earlier this season, playing in every one of them.

The United boss said recently he expected six of his players - Michael Carrick, Ashley Young, Tom Cleverley, Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones - to be in the England squad.

Now, he has added Ferdinand, who has had calf, hamstring and back problems for the past three years, to the list.
Ferguson said: 'Rio has had to change his game. He can't rely on his pace the way he used to as a kid. He was such a pure athlete and he was so mobile he could outrun anyone.
'He used to take advantage of that. He can't do that now so his positioning has improved and he plays a bit deeper than he used to.
'Now his experience is a vital part of his game. He has gone a long way to helping Jonny Evans come on and the young keeper [David de Gea], too.

'He has had a lot of responsibility with [Nemanja] Vidic being out. His form is probably his most consistent for a long time.'
Ferdinand, in the continued absence of the injured Vidic, has been a big factor as Ferguson's team have kept four successive clean sheets in the League.

'Even though he was more of an athlete in his younger days he would make the odd mistake through his casualness,' said the United boss.
'He had that wee trait in him. Now you don't get any mistakes at all.'
Ferguson revealed that Ferdinand, who has made 391 United appearances since his £30million arrival from Leeds in July 2002, is being treated carefully after being restricted to only 12 outings in 2009-10 and just half of the League fixtures last season.

Ferguson said: 'We don't train him every day. We have a quiet day, as we call it. Rio is 34 in November and he should be OK for another season anyway. Rio is as good as any centre-half in England. He and John Terry are the only experienced defenders England have got.'
He added: 'He has not been in the squad and that is a decision for the next England manager. If it was me then I would take him

Alangkah idealnya jika Rio Ferdinand memutuskan pensiun di United :)

Ferdinand Ingin Tinggalkan United Dengan Sukses

"Saya belum memikirkan tentang pensiun.

(tri/hsw)

Rio Ferdinand Jelang 10 Tahun Bersama MU

MANCHESTER, KOMPAS.com — Bek veteran andalan Manchester United, Rio Ferdinand, mendekati tahun kesepuluhnya bersama tim berjuluk "The Red Devils" itu.

"Saya belum berpikir tentang pensiun.

Ferdinand: United Tidak Peduli Dengan Hasil City!

(afp/lex)

Evans: "Ferdinand Sangat Tenang"
Aditya Putra - Okezone

http://img.okezone.com/content/2012/04/20/45/615335/p1wO6aY8a4.jpg

Rio Ferdinand: Experience and fearless young guys will help United over the line

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/04/21/article-2133285-12AF58A9000005DC-172_634x373.jpg

Rio Ferdinand may have played football at the highest level for 16 seasons, winning five Premier League titles, the Champions League and a host of other trophies with Manchester United but his search for a competitive edge remains as sharp as ever.

So, on a wet Wednesday afternoon in Sheffield last week, the 33-year-old central defender was every bit as gripped as the target audience of aspiring teenage athletes as he listened to Britain’s Olympic gold medal hopeful Jessica Ennis host a question and answer session.

At one point he even politely raised his hand, requested the microphone and asked Ennis a question of his own. ‘How do you block out emotion on the big occasions?’ he said — to which Ennis replied that she blanks everyone out of her mind, ignores friends and family, and applies tunnel vision as soon as she enters the sporting arena.

Desire is key: Rio Ferdinand reflects what it takes keep winning at Manchester United

Top of their game: Rio with Jessica Ennis, ambassadors for the Jaguar Academy of Sport
‘I do the same,’ Ferdinand told me afterwards. ‘So on that occasion, asking Jess didn’t teach me anything new. But you never know what you might learn.
'There might just have been one little thing I could have taken away. I’m fascinated by how other sportsmen train and prepare. I’m always looking for that extra advantage.'
Rarely have Ferdinand and his United team-mates needed to be as tightly focused as they must be in the coming weeks, as the most absorbing Premier League title race in years comes to the boil.
United sit atop the table, five points ahead of their ‘noisy neighbours’, Manchester City, with four games each remaining, including a potentially decisive derby on April 30.
United host Everton at lunchtime on Sunday knowing victory will take them eight points clear again, at least until City play at Wolves at tea-time.
The race could be over as the final whistle sounds at the Etihad Stadium showdown a week on Monday — or it could go to the wire, to 4.50pm or thereabouts on Sunday, May 13.

‘I don’t look beyond Everton,’ said Ferdinand, softly spoken but assured, relaxed but maintaining eye contact because he means what he says. ‘The approach has to be that it’s like no other game, none has been this important and we have to win.

‘Having had the experience of winning the title in past seasons can help us, but then it can go the other way. City and the other teams who haven’t been there can go in with no fear. They’ve got no knowledge of what it’s like, and that can work in their favour.

‘We’ve just got to make sure that we keep our eyes on what we’re doing, and use the experience we’ve got, and the lack of fear that our young guys have got, to get ourselves over the line first.’
He says nothing about City’s title charge has surprised him this season, that their challenge is an inevitable result of the petrodollars flowing from Sheik Mansour.

‘They’ve spent so much money, I don’t think their owners will be sitting there saying, “Oh, they’re punching above their weight”,’ he said. ‘You spend all that money, you’d expect to be top of the league.’

So what is it about serial winners United — looking for a 20th English title and their 13th of the Premier League era — that makes them such a winning machine? Ferdinand pinpoints one factor above all.

‘When you come through the doors at Manchester United, you smell the desire for success. At United it all comes back to that same word — desire,’ he said. ‘That comes from the manager to a great extent.
'When young players come in at United, they don't get shouted at by me, Giggsy and Scholesy. They watch and they learn'

'How can he do one job at one club, Manchester United, for 20 years and maintain success throughout that period? Because of his desire to win. How can you spend time in that environment without wanting the same? It doesn’t happen. And if you don’t feel that desire then you’ll be out the door before you know it.

‘The manager doesn’t need to remind us of this every week because everyone knows it. It’s ingrained in the club. When young players and new players come in, it’s not about the older players — me included now — shouting from the rooftops.

‘It’s not me and Giggsy and Scholesy going, “Blah, blah, blah, blah, this is what you’re meant to do”. New players do what I did when I first came in. They watch and they learn — and they aspire to behave in the way that the people already here behave.’

While Ferdinand himself appears to be back towards his best after two-and-a-half years of on-off injuries — and fellow veterans Ryan Giggs, 38, and Paul Scholes, 37, have also been key influences this season — three young United newcomers in David de Gea, 21, Phil Jones, 20 and Ashley Young, 26, have been amalgamated largely smoothly into a winning unit.

‘You quickly learn to trust your team-mates, believe they’ll be doing the right thing, be dependable in the last minute of a game that matters,’ said Ferdinand of the squad mentality at Old Trafford.

‘You look at every other player and think, “I believe in him and believe he’s a good enough player to be there, to get us over whatever hurdle is there to be cleared”. By having that belief in your teammates, you don’t panic, whatever the situation.’

Ferdinand acknowledges that his own game has evolved over the years. The young buck of his West Ham and Leeds United days, blessed with the composure and talent to be more like a midfielder when in possession, has become, in his own words, more of a ‘catalyst, to start things, and let others take it on’, than a ball-carrier.

Age and injuries have dictated that change of pace and approach to some extent, although Ferdinand says since he arrived at United, ‘there have always been players ahead of me who will take the ball on. I’d just give the ball to Ronaldo. He’s a better runner with the ball than me! Or I’d give it to Giggs. Or Roy Keane would be in front of me. Or Scholesy.

‘At international level, taking the ball out of defence was something that started to go from my game when Sven [Goran Eriksson] became manager. He’d say, “I don’t want my centre-halves running with the ball”.

'I was disappointed but if I want to play for England, I’ve got to do what the manager says. If Glenn Hoddle had been the England manager, I’d have been walking the ball out of defence every time I had it.’

Ferdinand, in fine form and with such immense experience, is a mustpick centre-half at this summer’s European Championship but he is reticent to enter the debate about who the next England manager should be.

‘I’m not going to talk about candidates because it’s not my place, and I wouldn’t talk about someone who’s already the manager of another team,’ he said, a reference to Tottenham’s Harry Redknapp, the favourite for the job.
Ferdinand does not go along with the populist belief that the England manager has to be English. His view is more pragmatic.

‘I understand the sentiment of those who say the manager should be English,’ he said. ‘But then again if the best man for the job does happen to be foreign, then so be it. As a player I want to win. I couldn’t care less where the manager is from, Timbuktu, wherever.
‘As long as he makes me a winner, then I’ll be happy. It’s about the manager making the players play as a team and not as individuals.’

Self-improvement is a recurring theme. Ferdinand’s sporting heroes include Roger Federer and he interviewed the tennis star for his own magazine in 2009, the day after the Swiss player had broken Pete Sampras’s Grand Slam record of 14 singles titles by winning a fifth Wimbledon crown.

‘It’s the most nervous I’ve been when interviewing anyone,’ said Ferdinand. ‘That guy has been at the top and he’s dominated his sport for so long, for years, certainly until the recent rise of Djokovic. To do that continually, year in, year out, is hard work. To motivate yourself in a one-man sport takes a lot of mental drive and desire.

‘I love Federer as a tennis player and as an athlete. I was interested in his training particularly and wanted to find out what he does.
‘Any time I speak to young players these days, the word “desire” cannot be undervalued. You need to have the desire for hard work and self-sacrifice, the desire to achieve things, to work and train hard.
'If you haven’t got all that then you’ll never achieve what you dream of.’

Rio Ferdinand: Experience and fearless young guys will help United over the line

Rio Ferdinand wants his team-mate (Scholes) to stay for another season.

Rio begs Scholes to stay as legend considers second retirement

Rio Ferdinand has urged team-mate Paul Scholes to put any retirement plans on hold for one more season.
Scholes returned to the fold in January after retiring last summer and since his comeback has excelled in the heart of the Manchester United midfield.
Ferdinand, 33, said he would love it if the 37-year-old would refrain from hanging up his boots for the second time for a further year.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/04/26/article-0-12B732C6000005DC-484_468x362.jpg

Asked if he would attempt to persuade Scholes to stay, Ferdinand said: 'Definitely. It would be nice if he could play another season.
'With Scholesy, though, you know it doesn’t make a difference what anybody else says. He’s his own man and he’ll make his own decision.'
Ferdinand added: 'He was out of the game for months and yet he’s come straight back into top-level football and he’s hardly looked out of place. At this stage of his career, that’s phenomenal.
'It’s not just the quality of his football that impresses me but the way he’s adapted physically. Would we have been in the same position without him?

'It’s impossible to say. It’s great to have him back, though.
'There are a number of reasons why we’ve done well since the turn of the year and there’s no doubt that one of them is Paul Scholes.'
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini said United bringing Scholes back was an act of desperation, but if it was, it worked, with Sir Alex Ferguson's side only dropping four points from the 13 league games Scholes has played since his return.
