12. BEN FOSTER
Birthdate: 03 Apr 1983
Birthplace: Leamington Spa, England
Position: Goalkeeper
Appearances: 10
Goals: 0
Joined United: 19 Jul 2005
United Debut: 15 March 2008 v Derby (A)
International England
It took Ben Foster almost three years to make his competitive United debut; signed in July 2005 and touted as Edwin van der Sar’s chief understudy, he was outstanding in a 1-0 win over Derby County on 15 March 2008.
Foster was snatched from relative obscurity at Stoke City and arrived at Old Trafford after catching Sir Alex Ferguson's eye while on loan at Wrexham. The young shot-stopper was eventually prised from the Potters, without ever playing for the first team, for an undisclosed fee. He's never stayed in one place long, however, with five loan spells in three years at the Britannia, and that continued after his move to Manchester.
After just one-and-a-half pre-season friendlies with United's Reserves in summer 2005, he was farmed out to Watford on a season-long loan. Tipped for relegation, the Hornets had a stunning campaign thanks in no small part to Foster. Aidy Boothroyd's men won Premier League promotion after a 3-0 Championship Play-off final win over Leeds.
Foster was subsequently named on the standby list for England's 2006 World Cup squad, cementing his credentials as a potential future no.1 for club and country. Although his presence wasn't required in Germany, his international bow wasn't long in coming as a superb second loan season at Watford earned him a start – ironically at Old Trafford – in England's friendly with Spain in February 2007. Steve McClaren's side lost 1-0, but Foster's noteworthy display was in keeping with his fine form throughout 2006/07 at Vicarage Road. He couldn't prevent Watford’s relegation from the Premier League, but their fate would have been sealed much sooner had it not been for his Ben's heroics.
Foster then returned to Old Trafford with the intention of pushing van der Sar for United's No.1 spot, but disaster struck when he was forced to undergo cruciate knee ligament surgery, ruling him out for almost a year. His return, his debut at Derby, confirmed his potential. Edwin’s excellence in the twilight of his career has restricted Ben’s first-team involvement, but he never lets United down when called upon.
That was in evidence for his first trophy, which arrived in March 2009 when his penalty shoot-out heroics helped the Reds to victory over Tottenham at Wembley. Patience continues to be a virtue for Foster, but you can be sure that when van der Sar takes off his gloves for the last time, Ben, who signed a contract extension in July 2009 to keep him at the club until at least June 2013, is well-placed to challenge for the No.1 jersey.

Ben Foster given chance to shine for Manchester United and England
By Rory Smith
Published: 1:35PM BST 05 Aug 2009
Ben Foster will be given the chance to earn a place in England’s World Cup squad by standing in for Edwin van der Sar as the Manchester United goalkeeper recuperates from surgery on a broken finger
Foster is likely to be given the chance to deputise for the vastly experienced former Juventus and Ajax player, ahead of Tomasz Kuszczcak, after Ferguson greeted his decision to sign a new, long-term contract at the start of the summer by admitting he sees him as Van der Sar’s long-term “successor”.
Both goalkeepers are likely to play a part in tonight’s friendly against Valencia but Ferguson is believed to be ready to give Foster a run in the side, starting with the Community Shield against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday, to prove his ability to replace Van der Sar when the Dutchman finally retires.
Foster has been widely tipped not just as Old Trafford’s first-choice in waiting but as the natural heir to David James for Fabio Capello’s England. Rob Green, the West Ham goalkeeper, stood in for the Portsmouth player for June’s two World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Andorra, but Capello is believed to regard his goalkeeping options as limited ahead of the tournament in South Africa next year.
James is now 39 and, while he is likely to travel to the World Cup, cannot be regarded as a long-term option. Doubts linger over Green’s command of his box, while Paul Robinson, despite his return earlier in the summer to Capello’s squad and the new lease of life granted him by a move to Blackburn last season, has failed to convince the Italian he should be given his place back.
Capello is unconvinced by the merits of the likes of Scott Carson, of West Bromwich Albion, and Joe Hart, now on loan at Birmingham, although he has invited Joe Lewis, the Peterborough and England U21 goalkeeper, to train with the senior squad on several occasions.
The Italian’s stated policy of only wishing to select those playing regularly for their clubs has thus far counted against Foster, an eternal understudy at Old Trafford since returning from a loan spell at Watford and recovering from a succession of serious injuries.
The former Stoke goalkeeper, now 26, can no longer be considered a young hopeful and knows he must start to play every week if he is to be included in Capello’s 23-man squad

Foster pulls out of England match
INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY: Netherlands v England
Venue: Amsterdam Arena, Amsterdam Date: Wed, 12 August Kick-off: 2045 BST Coverage: Live on BBC Radio 5 Live and ITV1; Live text commentary on BBC Sport website
Ben Foster
Foster was tipped to start for England on Wednesday
Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has withdrawn from the England squad for Wednesday's friendly against the Netherlands in Amsterdam.
The 26-year-old picked up a knock during Sunday's FA Community Shield defeat by Chelsea.
Manchester City's Joe Hart - currently on loan at Birmingham City - has been called up as a replacement.
First-choice goalkeeper David James was left out of the squad by coach Fabio Capello because of a knee injury.
West Ham's Robert Green and Blackburn's Paul Robinson are the other two keepers in the squad, one of whom is now likely to start at the Amsterdam Arena.
Green, who has four caps, started England's last two matches, the World Cup qualifying wins against Kazakhstan (4-0) and Andorra (6-0) in June.
Robinson won the last of his 41 caps in a 2-1 European Championship qualifying defeat by Russia in Moscow in October 2007.
Foster has played twice for England, the first in the 1-0 defeat against Spain in February 2007 and the second as a second-half substitute in the 4-0 win over Slovakia in March this year.
He is expected to be first-choice for Manchester United in the absence of regular number one Edwin Van der Sar, who will be sidelined for up to eight weeks after undergoing surgery on a broken finger and bone in his left hand.
Foster started the Community Shield match against Chelsea on Sunday, but was unable to prevent United losing 4-1 on penalties.

Following seven successive qualifying wins, England are on the cusp of qualifying for the World Cup next summer in South Africa, while the Dutch, who have also notched up seven victories, are assured of a place in the 2010 finals.
After playing the Netherlands, Capello's England face Slovenia in a friendly on 5 September, before facing Croatia in a World Cup qualifier at Wembley on 9 September.
England squad for 12 August friendly against the Netherlands:
Goalkeepers: Robert Green (West Ham United), Joe Hart (Manchester City), Paul Robinson (Blackburn Rovers)

Sir Alex not worried by Foster's poor display
Soccernet Staff
Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Ben Foster after the Manchester United goalkeeper's shaky display against Chelsea in the Charity Shield.
The 26-year-old is set for an extended run in the side after Edwin van der Sar's injury and endured a difficult afternoon at Wembley.
Foster's kicking looked suspect and he could have done better for both of Chelsea's goals, as Carlo Ancelotti's side ran out winners on penalties.
But Ferguson insists he has "no worries" over Foster's capabilities. "Knowing Ben and the ability which he has, he should have done better with the second goal,'' said the United boss.
"However, it was his first big challenge. He has waited a long time, has had his injuries and in pre-season I spread the load between the three keepers, and maybe we did not have enough minutes for him.
"But the important thing is, knowing his ability, it means I do not have any worries about him.''
Ferguson could find no words of comfort for referee Chris Foy however, after the incident on 70 minutes that changed the game.
Substitute Michael Ballack appeared to elbow Patrice Evra as the full-back charged down the left flank, but with the United player down, Foy allowed play to continue as Chelsea broke quickly, with Frank Lampard's shot beating Foster inside the far post.
Although the Premier League champions - who took the lead through Nani, later to go off with an injured shoulder - forced a penalty shoot-out when Wayne Rooney slotted home in stoppage time, Chelsea keeper Petr Cech was the hero with two saves.
Ferguson, however, believes Foy should have intervened when Evra was left flat out on the Wembley turf.
"I think the referee has made a rod for his own back,'' he said. "He stopped the game twice, first when Nani was down, then on the second occasion Ballack has gone down, which we have seen before with him.
"I asked the referee, he said he thought it was a serious incident, and he thought the player needed treatment, whereas he was up right away. Once he has done that, I do not understand why he has not stopped the game when Evra is lying down.
"With a replay you can see Ballack has elbowed the boy, and if the referee had seen it properly, it is a red card. The referee is in line with it, and should have at least stopped the game, but he did not.
"Of course, then they went on and scored the second goal. It is hard to blame the Chelsea players because it is a professional game. But it is making it very difficult for referees [to know] when players are acting to get the game stopped.
"It is an area I am concerned about and we have got to find a solution.''
Portugal midfielder Nani impressed, but Ferguson revealed he could now be set for a spell on the sidelines.
"We could not put the shoulder back in, so that is the worrying part for us,'' said Ferguson, who has had to reshape his attack following the summer departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.
[B]"He had done very well and we are very pleased with his performance.''
Ferguson felt United should have put the game beyond Chelsea following their dominant first half, with defender Ricardo Carvalho eventually pulling the FA Cup winners back in it on 52 minutes.
"We should really have put the game to bed,'' he said. "When you get chances in big matches and do not take them, you can suffer and we did.''

Foster on his guard

Ben Foster won't be fooled into thinking United's next match is a formality, despite a fine start for the champions and an opening-day defeat for newly-promoted hosts Burnley.
The Reds goalkeeper has personally - and painfully - experienced the difference a partisan crowd can make at Turf Moor, having been on the receiving end of a thumping 4-1 defeat there for loan club Watford in the Championship, back in 2005/06.
"Wednesday's match will be a tough one," Foster warned on MUTV.
"Burnley are going to be really up for it and their fans will give them an extra 20 per cent (boost). We've got to go there, be professional, do what we did against Birmingham and hopefully keep another clean sheet."
Foster's shut-out on Sunday was due to a combination of factors, not least his safe handling of crosses and his agility in preventing what looked a certain equaliser from Christian Benitez.
"I was happy with my contribution to the win, especially after last weekend at Wembley when I was disappointed with my performance," admitted Ben.
"It was good to bounce back. The most important thing was to get the three points but I was pleased to keep a clean sheet and do fairly well.
"I've got to give it all I've got at the moment. Unfortunately Edwin's had a bad injury but I've just got to do what I can in the period when he's out and when he's fit again I'll hopefully have done enough to stay where I am."
Foster isn't the only player trying to establish himself in the absence of more regular starters. The back four which protected him so well on Sunday included just one recognised first-choice defender, Patrice Evra, who caught the eye with an acrobatic header to clear a Birmingham effort off the line. But Fabio at right-back and the two men in the middle were just as impressive, says Ben.
"The defenders who came in against Birmingham - John O'Shea and Jonny Evans - were fantastic, while Fabio on the right is playing beyond his years, he's a great talent," added Foster.
"I think that shows we've got the players here. Whoever comes in can do a job just as well as the others can."
The Boss on Ben
Sir Alex spoke about Foster's form in his post-match interview on MUTV:
"Ben Foster made a fantastic save in the second half. He looked very comfortable and relaxed in his role.
"I think he’s learnt from last week at Wembley, that was an unusually nervy performance from him. But we know he has ability, he proved that again today."

Jelang Burnley vs MU
Foster Ingin Gawang MU Clean Sheet
Reky Herling Kalumata - detiksport
AFP

World Cup winner Banks backs Man Utd's Foster to be England No1
09.09.09 | tribalfootball.com
World Cup winner Gordon Banks believes Manchester United's Ben Foster can be England's outright No1.
Banks told The Times: “It’s got to be the one who finishes the season in the best form.
“If Ben Foster can play for most of this season for United, he’s got a real chance [of being Capello’s first choice in South Africa].
“I don’t know if this season alone is going to be enough, experience-wise, for him.
“If he’d got into the United team last season I’d have said, ‘Yes, he’s the one without doubt’.
“It looked like he was going to get more of a go last season, but injury and Edwin van der Sar’s form dictated otherwise. That season was lost.
“Don’t get me wrong, though, he might do it and I hope he does because for me, he is the future one.
“If he stays there at United, he’s definitely your new England goalkeeper.”

Ben Foster dreams of World Cup berth after putting down marker for Manchester United
By Sportsmail Reporter

Ben Foster has got a taste for first-team football at Manchester United and is in no mood to hand back his place to Edwin van der Sar.
The 26-year-old has started in each of his club's six matches this season as Holland international recovers from a hand injury.
And Foster hopes his stint between the posts has not gone unnoticed by England manager Fabio Capello as the Italian starts to think about his squad for next summer's World Cup.
"I've really enjoyed being involved so far - it's what I've wanted," said Foster. "When you have a solid run in the team you can look forward to games in advance and settle down a bit more.
"I'm happy with what I've done so far and hopefully there's more to come.
"Obviously, the World Cup is in sight at the end of the season and it's therefore important that I do well in any games I play.
"I've started the season reasonably well and played every game so far, and long may it continue."

Ben Foster Nikmati Posisi Utama United
Hendra Mujiraharja - Okezone

ISTANBUL - Selama Edwin van der Sar absen, maka Ben Foster dipilih menjadi kiper utama Manchester United.

Fergie Tetap Andalkan Foster
http://media.vivanews.com/thumbs/57250_ben_foster_thumb_300_225.jpg
"Jam terbang Foster memang masih minim. Namun dia akan baik-baik saja." tambahnya. Fergie juga mengatakan kalau Van Der Sar baru pulih dari cedera tiga pekan lagi.

Bencana Bikin Foster Bangkit
Mohammad Resha Pratama - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/09/28/72/foster-i.jpg
Manchester - Ben Foster menilai penampilannya kala menghadapi Manchester City bagai sebuah bencana.

Capello drops Foster from England squad
wwos.ninemsn.com.au - 09:47 AEST Mon Oct 5 2009
http://images.ninemsn.com.au/resizer.aspx?width=300&url=http://news.ninemsn.com.au/img/news_feeds/05_FabioCapello_400x300.jpg
England coach Fabio Capello dropped under-performing Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster from the squad to face Ukraine and Belarus in World Cup qualifying games and recalled veteran keeper David James on Sunday.
Foster has made a string of errors and looked hesitant playing for United this season while James returned after injury for the first time since April.
After eight consecutive Group 6 wins, England have already qualified for the World Cup. But Capello will be using the last two qualifiers to help decide the squad he takes to South Africa next June.
Capello has recalled Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who made his second England appearance in February but is without Jermain Defoe because of injury while Theo Walcott and Joe Cole are left out because they have only just returned from lengthy layoffs.
Making his first appearance of the season on Sunday, Walcott returned with a goal for Arsenal in a 6-2 victory over Blackburn. Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said he would be happy to see the forward in the England squad so that he might play more games after a long injury.
Capello's policy, however, is that players should be appearing regularly for their clubs before returning to his squad.
David Beckham will be flying over from Los Angeles for the matches as the 34-year-old Galaxy midfielder remains part of the Italian's plans.
Capello will watch seven of his squad play on Monday when Aston Villa host Manchester City in the final Premier League game before the two qualifying matches.

That second goal kemaren... its what an amateur keeper did... and Capello don't need an amateur on his squad... (Sorry to say)
BF ga cukup memumpuni sbg United 1st GK, semua erornya sdh terlampau parah... Mental jelas jatuh dan fokus jelas terganggu bgt, BF harus diberi treatment khusus sblm kembali menjadi 1st GK United utk next United match, tp rasanya hal itu akan jauh stlh game kemarin...
Lagi2 United bermasalah dgn GK stlh kepergian PS krisis GK berlangsung lama sblm akhirnya VDS hadir, nah skrg VDS cedera saja sdh goyang gmn nanti VDS pensiun?

Mental?? Ato pengalaman??
sebenernya gw pikir dia bisa mempermanis bangku cadangan United, karena toh dia pernah juga bermain bagus jadi spesialis FA Cup ato Carling Cup aja. tapi rasanya dia ga bakal mau d, apalagi usianya udah 26 tahun dan ngebet banget ke timnas Inggris. So, Jual aj deh. Scout United harus bener2 kerja keras buat nyari kiper kali ini, jangan sampe kayak Taibi lagi d kasusnya. Gw prefer ke Asenjo ni, keren ato gw jatuh cinta banget sama Casillas di pertandingan semalem lawan Sevilla (walaupun nyaris mustahil..hehe).

masa depan Foster kalo performanya gini terus sih paling jadi kiper reserves lagi kalo ngga ya dijual..
jadwal United Udah mulai padat nih ga mungkin ngandelin kiper kaya Foster..
udah cukup deh Foster jadi kiper utama blunder2nya cukup merugikan United nih..

sehebat-sehabatnya kiper muda, mereka main angin2an. contohnya vito mannone nya arsenal waktu lawan apa tuh, dia sampe dipuji abis2an, kayak bf waktu jadi bintang lawan spurs, tapi apa dia bisa konsisten?

Let's give Foster a little more time to Prove.

hhaaa?? penampilan Foster gak jelek2 amat pas lawan sunderland?

Reports claim Alex Ferguson had furious row with Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster
• Ferguson blamed Foster for Sunderland's second goal
• Keeper was removed from England squad with chest injury

Ben Foster, left out of Fabio Capello's England squad on Sunday after a string of goalkeeping errors in recent games, was involved in a furious row with his Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, the previous day, according to reports last night.
Ferguson blamed his out-of-sorts goalkeeper for allowing Kenwyne Jones to score during last Saturday's 2-2 Premier League draw at Old Trafford. It was the latest in a line of high-profile mistakes the 26-year-old has made.
Foster has officially been left out of the England squad because of a chest injury, but his form and confidence have disintegrated this season, when he has covered for the injured Edwin van der Sar.
The Dutchman played in the reserves against Everton last night on Tuesday and may return to the first team after this weekend's international break.
Ferguson has recently been linked with the Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio with Van der Sar revealing he will decide whether or not he is to retire at the end of this season in January .

Ben Foster Jadi Korban Amukan Ferguson
http://media.vivanews.com/thumbs/74974_ben_foster_thumb_300_225.jpg

Adu Mulut Ben Foster-Sir Alex

SAF stress sampai sdh nembak wasit stlh game vs Sunderland, yg bg gw kurang mendasar karna jelas2 performa United yg jeblok...

Masalahnya di Old Trafford berlaku prinsip "Manager is a boss" jadi nasib Foster memang di tangan Sir Alex yang memang diberi wewenang penuh menangani seluruh pemain MU.
Kalau Foster main jelek tapi MU cetak banyak gol mungkin lain lagi ceritanya.
gw support semua pemain Man. Utd. termasuk yang bermain buruk sekalipun!!! peace jg ah!
nah..
itu dy mungkin masalahnya juga yh..
Secara Inggris terkenal negara yg sangat jarang punya GK yg bagus..
nah lho...BF kan Inggris tulen..
hehehehehe
Kalo gw blg sih..
Dy msh blm siap bwt jd GK no.1x MU..
dr segi mental juga blm..Maen juga msh sering grogi..
Kalo gw prefer Si Kuszack dh dr Foster...

David Seaman: Make Manchester United's Ben Foster England's first-choice World Cup goalkeeper
MirrorFootball - 23:00 12/10/09
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/match-centre/article137399.ece/ALTERNATES/gallery-large/Manchester+United+v+Arsenal+-+Premier+League.jpeg
Former England keeper David Seaman has urged Fabio Capello to pick Ben Foster as England’s No1 for the World Cup next summer.
Seaman, who made 75 appearances for England, rates Foster ahead of Robert Green and cannot see a way back for David James or Paul Robinson who will be facing a long season trying to keep their clubs in the top flight.
Seaman said: “I think my first choice would be Ben Foster. He’s getting experience in playing in a big, big club with Man United, playing in the Champions League.
“[His mistakes] are always going to be high profile because he’s playing for Man United, that’s what happens.
“How much confidence is he [David James] going to have stepping into a World Cup getting a lot of goals put past him, that’s one of the other questions.
“It was unfortunate [what happened to Green]. It was a penalty but I’ve never been a big fan of goalkeepers being sent off in those situations because it wasn’t a deliberate foul.
“For some reason he got a red card but I thought it a bit harsh.”
Seaman admits he has a big worry over the future of England goalkeepers and cannot see where the next big homegrown talent is going to come from.
Seaman, speaking on Talksport, added: “The most worrying fact for me, is that there are not many English reserve team goalkeepers. It is a problem.
“[The managers] have got more options, bigger and better options abroad.
“I don’t think many English goalkeepers are getting the chances that I got given. When I was 19, 20, I was at Peterborough, then Birmingham and QPR, I was getting the chance to play but now a lot of clubs are going for other goalkeepers.”

Kadang mereka sebagian Fans menilai hanya seberapa kali dia kebobolan tanpa memperdulikan beberapa kali dia melakukan menyelamatan.....
Gawang Madrid aja paling sering bobol...
dan bahkan sampe capello mencoretnya dr timnas, jd mgkn emang foster blm siap utk jd no 1, gw bilang blm siap krn gw harap suatu hari dia belajar dr kesalahannya dan siap mjd no 1 (itupun kalo blm keburu dijual sm opa)

Sir Alex Ferguson says Manchester United's Ben Foster is England's best

Sir Alex Ferguson has said that Ben Foster is England's No1 goalkeeper – after dropping him from his team to face Bolton tomorrow, in favour of Edwin van der Sar.
Foster stepped in for Van der Sar when the veteran Dutchman broke two fingers during a pre-season match against Bayern Munich. The 26-year-old has performed well, notably at Wigan and Stoke, when saves at crucial times provided United with the platform for victory. However, he made mistakes against Manchester City and made another a fortnight ago when Kenwyne Jones shrugged him aside to score for Sunderland.
Foster kept a clean sheet for England on Wednesday as he collected his third cap in the 3-0 win over Belarus.
Ferguson said his faith in the former Watford player was undiminished. "I still feel he is the best English goalkeeper around," said the United manager. "He has been outstanding in a lot of things. The save he made on Wednesday [for England] was typical of his performance level with us too. They are a demonstration of the guy's ability. But he still has not had a lot of game time and experience. His injuries have curtailed the progress he was making. He is only going to get better, though, and there is no question he will be a fantastic goalkeeper."
After a reserve-team outing at Everton last week, Van der Sar felt confident of being recalled for a week that includes a Champions League trip to CSKA Moscow and a big match against Liverpool at Anfield.
"Edwin is fit and fine and he will play," said Ferguson. "He has got the experience. It is fair to say he and Peter Schmeichel have been the best goalkeepers in this club's history. With that calming influence he has on anyone around about him, getting him back is important – and with games against CSKA Moscow and Liverpool coming up, he couldn't be coming back at a better time."
With Van der Sar having cast doubt on the widely expressed view that this will be his last top-flight season, Ferguson may have a little more time to decide whether Foster can be a reliable first choice. The Carling Cup trip to Barnsley on 27 October, when Tomasz Kuszczak is also desperate to play, may be the goalkeeper's next chance.

Foster Kiper Terbaik Inggris
Azwar Ferdian - Okezone
http://bola.okezone.com/images-data/content/2009/10/17/51/266480/GlRmNrA5IS.jpg

Ben Foster’s Manchester United prospects hit by rumours of renewed bid for Schalke's Manuel Neuer
German international Manuel Neuer looks increasingly likely to be the true successor to Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United, with a renewed bid for the Schalke
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/10/31/article-1224354-05F9F152000005DC-992_306x423.jpg
Under pressure: Foster's position as Van der Sar's successor is under threat
goalkeeper expected next summer, but possibly as soon as January to head off interest from Bayern Munich.
United’s scouts have been trailing Neuer all season at the Veltins Arena and the Bundesliga side are now expecting to lose him and are holding out for £15million.
United are likely to offer about £12m, which would still be a British record for a goalkeeper. Sources at Schalke say United have already made one bid, last summer, which was rebuffed.
CSKA Moscow’s Russia No1 Igor Akinfeev, 23, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Rene Adler, 24, the current No1 in the German national team, have also been checked out, but Neuer has attracted the strongest interest.
What is clear is that Ben Foster will not be trusted to step into Van der Sar’s shoes next season.
Neuer, 23, is familiar to England fans after starring in Germany’s European Under-21 final victory last June and is a cult figure at Schalke, having grown up in the club’s home city of Gelsenkirchen and been a fan of the team all his life.

Ferguson Tolak Pinjamkan Foster
Fetra Hariandja - Okezone
http://bola.okezone.com/images-data/content/2009/11/02/45/271215/lpb1jSwCJv.jpg
Sejak Edwin van der Sar pulih dari cedera, arsitek The Red Devils Sir Alex Ferguson langsung mengistirahatkan Foster.
"Anda mengikuti latihan setiap hari. Dia tidak melewatkan sesi tersebut," kilahnya.
"Masa depan tentu milik Foster. Mustahil," pungkas pelatih asal Skotlandia.

Confused Ben Foster contemplates Manchester United exit in battle to retain England No 1 jersey for 2010 World Cup
Ben Foster has admitted he is getting disheartened with life at Manchester United.
Although he started the season as first choice following Edwin van der Sar's finger injury, a couple of high-profile mistakes, coupled with the veteran Dutchman's return to action have forced Foster out of the side.
While he was in goal for the Carling Cup tie at Barnsley last month, Foster has not even been on the bench for the vast majority of United games recently.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/15/article-1228062-0739A9E5000005DC-428_468x286.jpg
Number's up: England No 1 Foster admits he is disillusioned with life at United
Yet he has still been England's goalkeeper for the last two games.
The first one of those, against Belarus in the final World Cup qualifier, was somewhat fortuitous because Robert Green was suspended.
He was in on merit for the single goal defeat to Brazil in Qatar on Saturday night though and appears well placed to earn a place in Fabio Capello's squad for next summer's World Cup.
The situation just makes Foster even more confused, as he tries to re-establish himself again at Old Trafford knowing Van der Sar remains firmly positioned as Sir Alex Ferguson's number one.
'It's a weird one,' he admitted.' I am third choice for Manchester United at the moment yet I am playing for my country.
'It is very disheartening not even be on the bench at United.
'Edwin is one of the best keepers in the world. I can't really go knocking on the manager's door and say he is not doing his job because he is.'

Three's a crowd: Ben Foster has struggled to dislodge Tomasz Kuszczak and No 1 Edwin Van der Sar in the Manchester United pecking order
Foster has previously stated his desire to remain at Old Trafford so he can find out for certain whether he has what it takes to be a first-choice goalkeeper at one of Europe's leading clubs.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/15/article-1228062-0739AA4F000005DC-550_306x423.jpg
Looking ahead: Foster dreams of the World Cup
Many wise judges think he can. Indeed, during United's pre-season tour of the Far East, Ferguson stated his belief that Foster would go to South Africa as England's number one and reaffirmed an intention to give him as much match practice as possible.
Unfortunately, Foster's catalogue of mistakes have proved costly at club level.
But he is thankful to Fabio Capello for sticking with him though, just as he breathed a sigh of relief when his second-half challenge on Nilmar brought Brazil a penalty without the usual automatic red card.
'I definitely thought I was gone,' he said.
'It was exactly what happened to Robert Green in the Ukraine and he went. The referee probably left it because it was a friendly.
'I was happy to stay on the pitch because I was really grateful for the chance.
'It was a bit out of the blue but I have done really well in training this week and thankfully, the boss stuck with me.
'It is everything for a footballer to go to the World Cup but I can't go saying "I want to leave" or anything like that.
'I have just got to see what happens.'

Foster Mulai Frustrasi
Arya Perdhana - detiksport
http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2009/11/16/72/Foster-isi.jpg
Foster memang sebaiknya menyalahkan diri sendiri.

Manchester United's Foster hopes to go out on loan
-belfasttelegraph.co.uk-
Manchester United's Ben Foster is considering asking Sir Alex Ferguson for a loan deal to boost his chances of seizing a starting place for England in next summer's World Cup.
Foster has started only one game since Edwin van der Sar's return to the United side, was not even on the bench for the trip to Stamford Bridge two weeks ago and with United's Dutch first choice goalkeeper showing no signs that he will be dislodged, Foster knows that his hopes of a place in Fabio Capello's squad are now in Ferguson's hands.
He wants to rediscover the form as a United loanee at Watford two seasons back which signalled his arrival as a major top flight prospect.
Foster's current state of despair about his prospects were self evident in the aftermath of the 1-0 defeat to Brazil in Doha, when he said he had slipped to “third choice” for United.
Though he is aware that a loan deal now offers him the best chance of remaining in Capello's plans, he is understood to be conscious that there are limited opportunities within the Premier League.
Only perhaps Burnley's Brian Jensen and Hull City's Boaz Myhill look remotely vulnerable to a loan acquisition in January with most clubs in possession of proven goalkeepers.
Despite Foster's obvious anxieties about how he is to convince Capello of his worth, Ferguson will take considerable persuading to let him leave Old Trafford.
The manager suggested two weeks ago that a loan deal for Foster was not under consideration. “The future at United belongs to Ben of course,” Ferguson said.
“Tomasz Kuszczak is a good keeper too so we are quite strong. But Ben will not be allowed out on loan in January. No way.”

Foster: I may have to quit Utd

BEN FOSTER admits being mothballed by Manchester United is breaking his heart.
The frustrated keeper could be forced to abandon Old Trafford to save his career with the World Cup looming.
Fed-up Foster, 26, is now third choice for the Premier League champions and confessed he was shocked that England boss Fabio Capello kept faith with him for the Brazil clash.
He said: "I'm not playing at United, which makes it a lot more difficult for myself. It's very, very disheartening.
"Ideally, I'd like to be playing. That's not happening but the England boss is giving me a few chances.
"I'm really grateful for the chances and when I get the chance I've just got to show what I can do and hopefully that will keep me in the squad.
"It's difficult at United with Edwin van der Sar. He's one of the best keepers in the world. It's as simple as that.
"You can't go knocking on the manager's door and say he's not doing his job, because he is.
"It was a bit out of the blue to be picked, to be honest. I know that I played the last qualifier, but wasn't expecting it. But I think I did well in training and thankfully the boss stuck with me as well.
"I'm third choice for Manchester United at the moment yet I'm playing for my country.
"I can't go saying that I want to leave or anything like that, I'll see what happens. You never know in football, do you?"
Foster started the season between the sticks when No 1 Van der Sar injured a hand.
He faced Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City in a whirlwind start to the season but has since been relegated behind Pole Tomas Kuszczak.
Foster played in England's final World Cup qualifier, a 3-0 win over Belarus, and was at the centre of the action here on Saturday.
He was lucky to get just a yellow card when conceding a penalty for a foul on tricky Nilmar and was beaten by the classy Villarreal winger's curling header for the winner.
But he admits England boss Capello is keeping his chin off the floor with international call-ups and Foster added: "I've not been on the bench lately and you have to keep your head up, keep working hard in training.
"And I'm really thankful for Fabio Capello giving me a chance.

"The World Cup is a big thing, it's everything. A footballer wants to go to the World Cup, it's as simple as that. It's very disheartening not being on the bench.
"I thought I started off well at United this season. There was a period of about two or three games where I made a few mistakes.
"There was the Man City game, a few days later we played against Sunderland and people blamed me for the second goal against Sunderland.
"They were the only mistakes I made though, in my opinion. It was disappointing to lose my place in the team.
"But before that, I thought I was doing fairly well. You can't let it get you too down, especially not with so many games coming up.
"You've got them coming up every other day, almost, playing two or three times a week. You have to just move on. If you let it get on your mind then it will affect you."
Foster admits he was fortunate not to be sent off against Brazil.
He added: "I thought I was a definite goner.
"But the ref saw it as a friendly, he gave the decision and I was happy to stay on the pitch.
"We knew it was going to be a difficult match and it's so hot and humid, it's hard to get your breath.
"South American teams will be a lot more used to it but we gave a good account of ourselves.
"We've got a depleted squad and I don't think 1-0 flattered us too much. They had a lot of possession but didn't make many chances."

Spurs eye outcast Foster
-The Sun-

SPURS are lining up a £6million New Year bid for England keeper Ben Foster.
The Manchester United star admits he may have to quit Old Trafford after slipping to No 3 in the pecking order.
And Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is in the market for a new keeper after Carlo Cudicini was seriously injured in a bike accident last week.
Foster fears he will not be in England's World Cup squad next year unless he is playing regular first-team football in the Premier League.
Foster, 26, was picked to start Saturday's 1-0 defeat by Brazil. But he admitted: "It's very disheartening not even being on the bench at United.
"I'm third choice for United yet playing for my country. It's a weird one and I'll see what happens."
Foster is reluctant to give up on his United dream.
However, after four years on the Old Trafford books, he fears he will never be Alex Ferguson's first choice.
He spent two years on loan with Watford immediately after signing from Stoke City in a £1million deal.
He then missed another year with a cruciate ligament injury.
But now he believes he needs regular Premier League football and would welcome the chance to establish himself at White Hart Lane.
Cudicini is unlikely to play again this season after fracturing both wrists and his pelvis last Thursday.
Now Redknapp is looking to sign an established goalkeeper to put pressure on unpredictable Brazilian Heurelho Gomes as Spurs bid to qualify for a Champions League place next season.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out the possibility of letting Ben Foster leave the club.
Foster has revealed his frustration at being down the pecking order at Old Trafford, whilst on international duty with England.
Indeed Foster started for The Three Lions against Brazil, but he will again be on the bench this weekend as United face Everton.
Foster has been linked with a move to Tottenham amongst others, but Ferguson insists he is going nowhere.
"He is definitely staying here," said Ferguson.
"He has had a couple of bad mistakes in games but his performance level has been very good. He will be a terrific goalkeeper. So will Tomasz Kuszczak.
"They are good goalkeepers they just have the problem that they have Edwin van der Sar in front of them.
"Ben is a strong lad. Without doubt he is England's best goalkeeper.
"Without question he has the best presence and he is the quickest. He is also very brave.
"But for a lad of 26 he has not had much game experience. That is the negative part for him and that is where maybe it will cost him his England position at the moment.
"However, I am not protecting the lad because he is my goalkeeper but when I look at the abilities of the goalkeepers in the league who are English, I don't
think they are as good as Ben Foster. It is as simple as that."

Legendary England goalkeeper Peter Shilton believes Ben Foster must start playing regular first-team football soon if he is to make the international jersey his own.
The 25-year-old was in goal for the recent friendly defeat to Brazil despite having to play second fiddle to Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United, and he has in the past admitted to being 'disheartened' with his domestic situation.
Foster did get a run in the United side earlier in the season, but he was criticised for his displays in home games against Manchester City and Sunderland.
Shilton - his country's most-capped player - told Sky Sports News: "I think it would definitely be a big thing for Ben to be playing regularly.
"From Manchester United's point of view, as well, you can't have a player of Ben Foster's quality sitting in the reserves - I just don't hink it's the right thing.
"From his, United's and England's point of view it would be better that he's out there playing first-team football.
"Obviously Edwin van der Sar's been a big presence for United and he had that clean-sheet record last season. He's a top goalkeeper with a lot of experience so you can understand Alex Ferguson saying 'I want him in there', but Ben Foster is not far behind.
"Like all young goalkeepers he's going to make mistakes, but he's got a tremendous amount of ability. There are one or two areas of his game he could tighten up, but that's the same with all keepers."
Foster is in what appears to be a four-way fight to keep goal for England in next summer's World Cup, with doubts over David James' fitness and neither Rob Green nor Paul Robinson as yet making a pressing claim.
Shilton added: "You could make a case for all of them. Foster and Green are the ones with the least experience. James and Robinson have more experience, but they have also had their chance."

Sunderland chasing Man Utd keeper Foster

Sunderland are chasing Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster.
The People says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reluctant to let Foster leave Old Trafford to get first-team experience ahead of next summer's World Cup finals and will ask for a bumper 'rental' payment on top of Foster's wages to make the whole package to around £2million for half-a-season.
Black Cats boss Steve Bruce was set to ask old mate Ferguson if he can have the 26-year-old on loan after his own No.1 Craig Gordon suffered a broken arm at Tottenham a fortnight ago - which will keep him out for the next three month.
Ironically, Ferguson has already banked a small fortune for Foster from his two spells at Watford and if he gets a loan fee for the keeper this time it will have paid for buying him in the first place.

Sir Alex Ferguson has reiterated his assertion that Ben Foster could take over as United's first-choice goalkeeper when Edwin van der Sar eventually retires.
The Reds boss backed the England stopper last week and has again voiced his belief that the 26-year-old can be the champions' long-term number one, despite him being third in the current pecking order behind van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak.
“Yes, I’ve said that all along," Ferguson said. "That hasn’t changed. He has terrific ability, the boy. As we know, he needs plenty of game experience. He’s not getting that at the moment, but Edwin is 39 now. So the future rests with Ben.
"And, of course, Tomasz is another good goalkeeper. At the end of the day the two of them will fight it out, I’m sure of that."
Van der Sar sat out the start of the season with a broken hand, but slotted back in to the first team seamlessly. The Dutchman is on a rolling one-year contract and usually decides his future in December, though Sir Alex is yet to hear from him.
"No, he’s not said anything," Ferguson confirmed. "Missing the start of the season is never easy for players of his age, but he’s come back from his injury well. It’s usually around Christmas time that he outlines his plans of how long he can go on. So we will wait on that.
"I don’t know his plans. When you get to that age, and he has a young family, it’s hard to know what his plans are. I don’t know if he plans to go back to Holland.
"But he is a very intelligent man and understands his body better than anyone, so he will give the right judgement, I’m sure."

Fergie will not blame Foster
Red Devils boss does not blame keeper for defeat
http://img.skysports.com/09/08/218x298/Chelsea-v-Manchester-United-Ben-Foster-pa_2345645.jpg
Sir Alex Ferguson has refused to blame Ben Foster for Manchester United losing their 23-match unbeaten home record in the UEFA Champions League.
The recalled keeper was beaten from distance by Rodrigo Tello after 20 minutes that gave Besiktas their first win at the fifth attempt in Group B.
It was Foster's first start in a month and while he failed to get a hand on Tello's long-distance effect that deflected off Rafael, he has avoided the wrath of Ferguson.
"The goal followed a deflection off Rafael and we were chasing the game," said Ferguson. "Deflections off the body have a certain speed and that can cause a problem."
Ferguson made wholesale changes to his side and gave youth a chance, a gamble he believes will pay off in the long run despite the surprise defeat.
Composure
The likes of Federico Macheda, Danny Welbeck, Gabriel Obertan and Darron Gibson all started and, if anything, he felt they lacked a bit of composure at times.
"I thought we needed a bit of composure. The young players were a bit anxious and that is understandable in a way," he continued.
"It was an experimental line-up in a way. We have to be fair in the way we assess the players in these games.
"The value is the trust we have got in playing these young players. They are potentially top players.
"The important thing is, though, they showed a good level. In the first half we had good opportunities but got caught on the counter attack."

Fergie hands Foster double boost
-eatsleepsport.com-
Sir Alex Ferguson has absolved Ben Foster of blame for Besiktas' winner and ruled out a move for CSKA Moscow keeper Igor Akinfeev.
The United boss defended his keeper over the deflected shot from Rodrigo Tello that was enough to end United's 23-match home Champions League unbeaten run last night.
Ferguson told Sky Sports: "The goal followed a deflection off Rafael [da Silva] and we were chasing the game.
"Deflections off the body have a certain speed and that can cause a problem."
Ferguson wrote in his programme notes that, although he had been impressed by Russia keeper Akinfeev during the 3-3 draw at Old Trafford last month, he would not be making an imminent move for the 25-year-old CSKA star.
Ferguson said: "I told you to watch out for him (Akinfeev) and he was fantastic as I expected. He is athletic, powerful and distributed well.
"Having said that, don't go rushing to conclusions. I know there have been rumours that we are interested in trying to sign him but that is not true.
"He is a great goalkeeper but I am very happy with our goalkeeping strength - from the senior ranks down to some bright lads coming through the ranks."

Ben Foster’s United Dilemma
-footballfancast.com-
http://www.footballfancast.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Ben-Foster-GETTY_141466t.jpg
Goalkeeper isn’t often a position that is associated with young talent. Whilst the best players in the world, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka for example, are all spritely youngsters, the best shot stoppers in football are often around the 30 mark, if not older. It may seem odd therefore to rewind back to 2005, when Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd was singing the praises of Manchester United’s 22 year old goalkeeper Ben Foster, exclaiming ‘he’s better than current keeper Edwin Van Der Sar.’
It was no doubt a bold statement by Boothroyd, however not one that was unfounded. The young keeper, on loan at Vicarage Road from Old Trafford, had performed wonders in a season to forget for the Hornets. Despite his side being relegated, it was a common occurrence to see Foster on Match of the Day performing miracle after miracle, doing his best to keep the Hertfordshire club in the Premier League. So what has happened to Ben Foster?
Foster received the perfect opportunity to stake his claim for the number one Manchester United jersey at the beginning of this season as a finger injury kept Edwin Van Der Sar on the sidelines. Unfortunately for the England man, his performances were not of the standard that we became accustomed to during his time at Watford and several high profile mistakes such as those against rivals Manchester City and Sunderland have meant his name has once again dropped down the pecking order behind Tomasz Kuszczak. Therefore is it time for Foster to move on?
I personally do not believe that it would be the worst idea for Foster to move away from Old Trafford. When asked to step up to the mantle for the Red Devils, his inexperience has shown and you have to believe the pressure of playing for such a huge club is affecting him. The experience that Foster received during his time at Watford was no doubt priceless and I am sure a move away from United, even if only a loan move, would provide Foster with the first team experience that he both needs and deserves. Foster has emphasised his wish to stay at Manchester United to prove to himself that he can play for a top European club, however, as highlighted earlier, the Englishman is only 26 and therefore there is nothing to stop him playing for a top club in the future, maybe even Manchester United.
I also believe that a move can only benefit Foster’s World Cup hopes. Although he has been a firm favourite of Capello’s, having started both of the last two matches, he must be concerned as he watches his rivals Paul Robinson and Joe Hart play week in week out. His plane ticket to South Africa may end up be hindered by his unwillingness to leave Old Trafford.
I am confident in the abilities of Ben Foster and still believe he is a great talent with a great future; however I feel that his career has hit somewhat of a crossroads. Foster, who has recently spoke of his frustration at Old Trafford, should make a decision sooner rather than later.

Sir Alex tells Ben Foster: You're not going out on loan next month
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/12/11/article-0-05F9F152000005DC-957_306x353.jpg
Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out a January loan move for Manchester United goalkeeper
Although Edwin van der Sar remains sidelined by a knee injury, Foster appears to have slipped down the United pecking order as Tomasz Kuszczak has been in goal for four of the five games the Old Trafford side have played since the Dutchman has been out.
It has led to talk that Foster might be offer the chance to spend the second half of the season away from United in order to preserve his England World Cup dream.
However, the mere suggestion brought a brusque response from Ferguson.
'Nothing is going to happen with Ben,' said the United boss. 'He is here and this is where he stays.'
Ferguson also confirmed he was still waiting for Van der Sar to decide whether he will extend his stellar career by another 12 months.
At 39, the former Holland star knows he cannot continue forever. However, he will be given the chance to remain at Old Trafford if he wishes to stay.
It has become normal for Van der Sar to inform Ferguson of his plans at this stage of the season.
However, so far, the call has not come.
'Edwin usually comes to us around this time and tells us what he wants to do,' said Ferguson. 'It generally comes in the form of a telephone call from his agent to (chief
executive) David Gill, but we have not received it yet.
'At the moment Edwin has an injury but it is not serious and he could be ready for next week.'

Another Fergie hairdryer, Ben?

BEN FOSTER looked as if he had been on the wrong end of a right royal roasting from the Fergie hairdryer at training yesterday.
But while the Manchester United and England keeper was left steaming, it was purely down to the effort he had put in during the freezing cold weather at Carrington and not due to unwisely getting on the wrong end of manager Alex Ferguson's hot temper.

seiring TK 29 yang semakin ajib dan konsisten...
sepertinya nasib Ben foster semakin jelas deh....
jelas out :siul:

Manchester United rule out Ben Foster going on loan
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out sending keeper Ben Foster on loan, throwing into doubt his chances of going to the World Cup.
The 26-year-old started the season as the club's number one but is now behind Edwin van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak.
"There is absolutely no chance of loaning Ben out," said Ferguson.
"Let's hope he gets some football that gives him a chance. It's Fabio Capello's choice. Ben's qualities will put him forward as a definite choice."
But with United out of the FA Cup, the Carling Cup semi-finals against Manchester City could be the only games Foster plays during the rest of the season.
Capello had been expected to take three keepers to South Africa, with David James, Robert Green and Foster the Italian's preferred stoppers, but Joe Hart's form for Birmingham could upset that status quo.
"The World Cup is four months ahead," added Ferguson. "England are not endowed with great goalkeepers."
After playing his second consecutive game for England in Qatar in the 1-0 defeat by Brazil, Foster expressed frustration with his predicament, pointing out that while he was playing regularly for his country he had dropped out of the reckoning at Old Trafford.
"I'm third choice for United yet I'm playing for my country," said Foster.

Benfi hope
"It's not nice when you're not even on the bench sometimes and you're not involved in the squad. Especially with it being a World Cup year as well, it's an important time, you need to be involved, but hopefully it's the start of a few more games coming my way."

Foster craves action
http://picsrv.manutd.com/?fif=/manu/img_10_23037_2792.jpg&obj=iip,1.0&wid=500
Ben Foster was delighted to make his return to senior action in Tuesday's victory over West Ham, but admits he craves more minutes of playing time over the remainder of the season.
The England international had a week to psyche himself up for his first start since November and, having made a couple of smart saves en route to a clean sheet, is now setting his sights on more action in order to play himself into England's World Cup squad.
"It's nice to get a run-out tonight," Foster told MUTV. "It was a good game for me to get involved in. West Ham have got a couple of big lads upfront and there's always a chance you're going to get some action. It was a good performance from the lads and a good result.
"I knew maybe a week ago, the Boss told me so it gives you plenty of time to prepare mentally. Obviously I haven't played for a few months and it's nice to know you're going to be playing.
"It's not nice when you're not even on the bench sometimes and you're not involved in the squad. With it being a World Cup year it's an important time, you need to be involved, but hopefully it's the start of a few more games coming my way.
"That's all I can look forward to really. I think I need to play some more games. Obviously it's not down to me. If I get a chance, I've just got to do as well as I can do. That's all I can do at the moment."
Having played his way back into action, Foster concedes that it is unlikely he will be given the chance to reprise last season's Wembley heroics in this weekend's Carling Cup final, but his only concern is that United retain the trophy - whether he is involved or not.
"I'm not really counting on anything like that (being involved), this is my first game in three months," he said. "It'd be a bit ambitious to expect to be playing in the final on Sunday as well. If I'm involved I'll be happy. But so long as we win the match and retain that trophy, we'll all be happy."

Foster hails 'special' day
United goalkeeper cherishes Wembley memories
http://img.skysports.com/10/02/800x600/Ben-Foster-in-training_2425010.jpg
Last year's Wembley hero Ben Foster hopes that he will be given more chances to play in major finals for Manchester United.
The goalkeeper memorably stepped up to the plate in last year's Carling Cup final as he emerged with the man of the match award after his heroics in the penalty shoot-out success against Spurs.
However, with Edwin van der Sar fully fit and Tomasz Kuszczak also in the frame, Foster has found playing time hard to come by since that day.
But the England international made a comeback against West Ham on Tuesday, drawing speculation he could be selected again against Aston Villa at Wembley.
Reflecting on his performance a year ago, Foster admits that he wants to experience the thrill of winning silverware for his club again.
"I have not played in three months, so when I see pictures of myself holding the trophy and getting man of the match it is really nice," he said.
"You do appreciate it a lot more.
"Being only 26, you do hope there will be a lot more times like that but that day especially is nice to look back on because it was so special for me."
Dream
It has been thought that his status as a back-up at Old Trafford could cost him a place in Fabio Capello's World Cup squad, but Foster thinks he can still earn a place during his fleeting appearances.
"I really want to go to the World Cup," he added.
"It is a childhood dream of most footballers to go to the World Cup and I am no different. I feel I have done fairly well when I have represented my country.
"Playing against West Ham, and hopefully a few more before the end of the season should help. I can only do as well as I can in the games I am given."
The former Watford loanee also stated that defeating Villa on Sunday will give the squad a massive lift ahead of the title run-in.
Foster said: "If we could win it would give us a big boost.
"It has been a difficult season for many teams in the Premier League, especially the top four. You have not been able to predict the results almost since the season began.
"To get that first title of the season would be a big boost for us. Hopefully we can all kick on from there.
"If we can go on a nice little run in the Premier League, we can still retain the title."

World Cup 2010: Manchester United's Ben Foster seems unlikely to travel to South Africa
England manager Fabio Capello has suggested there is little hope that Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster will be selected for the World Cup this summer.
http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01606/ben_foster_1606475c.jpg
England's goalkeeping options has been a topic of debate all season, but with just over two months to go before Capello names his final squad for the World Cup 2010, it seems the Italian has decided who will be on the plane to South Africa.
Asked how he felt about the options available to him, Capello told Gol Television: "I'm fairly happy. We've got [Robert] Green, [David] James who is older and experienced and [Joe] Hart who is young.
"So I don't think we have a problem when it comes to goalkeepers."
The news will no doubt come as a blow to Ben Foster who, having impressed so much with United last season, has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford and is now Sir Alex Ferguson's third choice.
Also set to miss out is West Brom goalkeeper Scott Carson who by his own admission has given up hope of an England call up until he is playing in the Premier League again.
Depsite his good form in the Championship this season, the 24-year-old said: "I don't think there's any chance of going to the World Cup. Obviously I would like to. I am just putting my head down and trying to improve.
"Then next time we are in the Premiership, touch wood, then hopefully I can have a good season and I can think about it. But England is at the back of my mind at the minute. I am trying to concentrate on playing consistently well.
"I would settle for a place in the squad, but promotion is more important to me. I am only 24, so hopefully I have got another 10 or 15 years and some more World Cups."

United Lepas Foster?
Defanie Arianti - Okezone
http://i.okezone.com/content/2010/04/05/45/319145/o3Uo5y1MZq.jpg
MANCHESTER - Manchester United disinyalir siap melepas kiper lapis tiga Ben Foster akhir musim ini dengan banderol cukup rendah. Benarkah?
Kiper 27 tahun memang terus berjuang menembus skuad utama United.

Birmingham bid to get United keeper Ben Foster on loan when Joe Hart returns to City
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/04/20/article-0-04120A32000005DC-376_468x461.jpg
Birmingham want to take Manchester United keeper Ben Foster on loan next season because they cannot afford to keep Joe Hart another year.
Hart, 23, has been superb during his season-long loan spell from Manchester City but the Eastlands club do not want to let him out again - and if they did they would hike the price up way beyond Birmingham's reach.
Instead, St Andrew's boss Alex McLeish will turn to his old mentor Sir Alex Ferguson in a bid to get Foster.
Reports in the Mirror suggest McLeish would prefer to take Foster on loan but would be prepared to buy the 27-year-old if the price was right.
Foster has made just 10 appearances this season and has slipped out of the World Cup reckoning - replaced ironically by Hart - so Ferguson may be ready to release him after preferring Tomasz Kuszszak as his number two this season.
Foster himself would welcome the move but cash-conscious Birmingham are also keeping tabs on another England keeper - Robert Green - should West Ham decide they want to sell him or should they be relegated from the Premier League.

Ben Foster has to quit Manchester United, says England legend Peter Shilton
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/04/20/article-0-06CDA3EE000005DC-976_468x360.jpg
England goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton says Ben Foster must leave champions Manchester United if he wants to save his international career.
And he has tipped Robert Green to claim the No 1 jersey in Fabio Capello's squad this summer - even though his West Ham side are in danger of relegation.
'My choice as England goalkeeper would be Green and that's disappointing for Foster,' said Shilton, who won a record 125 caps.
When Edwin van der Sar broke a hand last summer, it gave his understudy a chance to establish himself at Old Trafford. But that chance was blighted by injury and inconsistent performances and Foster is almost certain to miss the World Cup after falling behind up Manchester City's Joe Hart, who has been a success on loan at Birmingham.
'Foster was on a par with Green a while back but he is not playing first-team football anymore and that is going to count against him,' added Shilton, who was speaking after signing the world's largest England shirt.
'He played in goal for the Brazil friendly last November and did very well, but not playing regularly has put a big question mark over him again. 'I feel he may miss out this summer and although he does not want to leave a team like Manchester United, he may have to. It depends how long he wants to hang around not playing. It's going to be a big decision, as who knows when Van der Sar will retire?'

Ben Foster endures solo training sessions at Manchester United
• United third-choice training alone in some sessions
• Fabio Capello unlikely to include Foster in World Cup plans
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/columnists/2010/4/21/1271872620587/Ben-Foster-001.jpg
Ben Foster's chances of forcing himself back into the reckoning for England's World Cup squad are receding quickly after it emerged his stock has fallen so much at Manchester United that he is training apart from the other players in some sessions.
After starting the season as Sir Alex Ferguson's No1, in place of the injured Edwin van der Sar, Foster has endured a wretched time, making a series of mistakes that have seen him not only drop behind the Dutchman but also Tomasz Kuszczak. Foster has made only one league appearance since 3 October.
Despite interest from a number of Premier League clubs, Foster resisted the opportunity to go out on loan in January, believing that he would have more hope of figuring prominently in Fabio Capello's England plans by staying with the champions. That decision now appears to have backfired and he is known to be giving renewed thought to his future in light of Van der Sar signing a one-year contract extension that will take him beyond his 40th birthday.
Ferguson had expected Foster, who has four England caps, to make a serious challenge for Van der Sar's place and be assured of a place at the World Cup, but Capello now seems certain to have West Ham's Robert Green as his first-choice, with David James and Joe Hart in reserve.
The revelation about Foster training alone was made by Gary Bailey, the former United goalkeeper, after he visited the club's training ground on a recent trip from his home country, South Africa. Bailey said he was "amazed and sad" to find Foster not involved with the rest of Sir Alex Ferguson's squad.
"I was over for the Chelsea match and I popped into Carrington and watched the goalkeepers training," Bailey said. "He [Foster] was having a separate session with United's keeper coach, Eric Steele, while Edwin van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak were the keepers in a five-a-side match."
Bailey did praise Foster's performance, saying "he made one save that forced me to applaud" and that he did not regard him as a "damaged-goods player" but he added: "It is amazing and sad to see a lad who was United's No1 and an England keeper now languishing as third-choice at Old Trafford with no chance of going to South Africa – and he couldn't get a game in the practice session."
The former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton suggested today that the 26-year-old may have to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season. "I feel he may miss out this summer," Shilton said, "and although he does not want to leave a team like Manchester United, he may have to."
Capello and United have been boosted by the news that Wes Brown has recovered from the broken metatarsal that has kept him out for six weeks, with the defender in contention for United's game against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
In Foster's case, however, Capello operates by the policy that he does not like to include players who are not featuring regularly for their club and Ferguson appears to have lost faith in the man he described, earlier this season, as the outstanding English goalkeeper in the league. Rio Ferdinand is also back in full training after his groin injury and hopes to return at the weekend.

Foster To Stay At United Despite Lack Of Chances
-manchesterunited.vitalfootball.co.uk-
http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00454/Ben_Foster_454997a.jpg
Ben Foster hasn't grabbed his chance. He was number one for a few weeks with Edwin van der Sar's injury but he made plenty of mistakes and was dropped as soon as Edwin returned and now he's very much third choice, with Tomasz Kuszczak getting ahead of him as well. Regardless, Sir Alex still believes Foster has a future at the club, despite speculation about his imminent departure.
'Ben has been unfortunate,' said Ferguson in his weekly press conference.
'He made some mistakes earlier this season and Tomasz Kuszczak got in. His form has been great. Every time he played he was outstanding.
'What do I do? Pick Ben because he is English or go with form? But Ben has fantastic talent and I am sure he will be tremendous next year.
'The boy has just signed a new contract and has never said anything to me, so as far as I am concerned, he will be here.'
With Van der Sar having signed a new contract and Kuszczak being still around, will Foster ever get another game? It would be in the boys' best interest to leave in my opinion. We all had high hopes for him, given his undoubted talent but it doesn't seem he's got what it takes to succeed under the pressure of the highest level. I would be delighted if he proved me wrong but when would he do that? When Edwin finally hangs up his boots in 2011?
Foster is better than what his early mistakes showed but still isn't good enough for United, or at least it seems so. However, he's too good to be a third choice keeper, he deserves a proper chance at another club, where the expectations aren't that high and where there is less pressure on a still relatively young keeper.

Fergie: Foster can still be United's No.1
Published 23:00 27/04/10 By David McDonnell - mirrorfootball.co.uk
Sir Alex Ferguson is willing to give goalkeeper Ben Foster a final chance to prove he has what it takes to succeed Edwin Van der Sar as Manchester United's No.1.
Foster began the season in goal for United, with Van der Sar injured, but has fallen down the pecking order and is currently third-choice behind Tomasz Kuszczak.
But Fergie has challenged Foster, who recently signed a new four-year deal with United, to show why he is regarded as England's future No.1 goalkeeper.
"Ben has been unfortunate," said Fergie. "His performance for the reserves the other night was tremendous and it showed the fantastic talent he's got.
"He made some mistakes earlier in the season, Kusczcak got in, and his form has been great.
"Tomasz has had a great season. Every time he's played he's been outstanding. So what do I do? Pick Ben because he's English or go with form? I have to go with form.
"Tomasz has been in better form than Ben this year. That's the only reason. But Ben will come back. He'll be tremendous next season. He's still young."

Sir Alex Ferguson keeps faith with Ben Foster at Manchester United
April 28, 2010 - timesonline.co.uk
Manchester United may be in the hunt for a new goalkeeper as they look for a long-term successor to Edwin van der Sar, but Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager, has moved to reassure Ben Foster that he has a future at Old Trafford amid fears that his days at the club were numbered.
Foster was tipped for big things at the start of the season, but a series of high-profile blunders have led him to slip behind Tomasz Kuszczak to third in the goalkeeping pecking order at United and his chances of being included in the England squad for the World Cup finals appear remote.
It is a far cry from last summer, when Foster, having just signed a new four-year contract to tie him to the club until June 2013, was lauded by Ferguson, who backed him to mount a fierce challenge to Van der Sar for the No 1 jersey at United and establish himself as Fabio Capello’s first-choice goalkeeper in time for the World Cup finals in South Africa that start in June.
United are closely monitoring Hugo Lloris, the Lyons and France goalkeeper, and Manuel Neuer, of Schalke, and have also checked on Igor Akinfeev, the CSKA Moscow and Russia goalkeeper, with one of Kuszczak or Foster expected to be sacrificed if Ferguson manages to lure one of his intended targets.
But while the United manager appeared to leave the door open to Foster to leave if he requested a transfer, he said he expects the 27-year-old to be at the club next season.
“Ben has been unfortunate,” Ferguson said. “He made some mistakes earlier in the season. Tomasz Kuszczak got in and his form was great. So what do I do? Pick Ben because he’s English? Or go with form? I have to go with form.
“That’s the only reason. Ben will come back. He has fantastic talent and I am sure he will be tremendous next year. The boy has just signed a new contract and has never said anything to me [about his future], so as far as I am concerned, he will be here.”

Birmingham target Ben Foster admits Manchester United exit is likely
• Goalkeeper set to leave Old Trafford in bid to revive career
• 'I want to be playing... I am not interested in hanging around'
http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2010/5/5/1273048212065/Ben-Foster-006.jpg
Manchester United's Ben Foster has accepted he will have to leave Old Trafford to revive his flagging career.
Foster started the campaign with high hopes of becoming United's number one goalkeeper, and was tipped by Sir Alex Ferguson as a contender for England's World Cup squad.
But the season has turned into a disaster for the 27-year-old. Standing in for Edwin van der Sar early in the season, Foster made two high-profile blunders, first in the Manchester derby, then the following month against Sunderland when he was at fault for a Kenwyne Jones goal that proved crucial in the title race.
Although Fabio Capello did not lose faith, and picked Foster for successive internationals against Belarus and Brazil, he has slipped back to number three for United.
On Monday he was reduced to becoming a penalty shoot-out hero in United's reserve team title triumph over Aston Villa.
"You never want to leave Manchester United," he told the Manchester Evening News. "If you leave this club you are only ever going to go down. But I want to be playing football. I am not interested in just hanging around and I would go if the club wanted to sell me.
"If they are happy to accept a bid then you have to read between the lines and realise you are not really needed and move on. It would not be the end of the world for me."
Ferguson has said he sees Foster being part of his first-team squad next season, but that looks unlikely. The possibility of a loan move remains on the agenda, possibly to Birmingham if, as expected, they are not able to get Joe Hart back from Manchester City.
Foster knows he will lose out to Hart in the battle to secure a World Cup spot, with David James and Robert Green also set to make the trip to South Africa.
"I don't think there is any chance of South Africa now," he said. "If he were to pick me it would be very unfair on some of the other goalkeepers.
"I have not played a first-team game for a good few months and some of the English lads out there like Joe Hart and Robert Green have been doing fantastic."

Sir Alex Ferguson admits Ben Foster's World Cup chances have been hit by a lack of first-team football for United this season.
Ferguson has long championed Foster's England cause but accepts the 27-year-old goalkeeper needs to be playing regularly at the top level if he is to be considered for Fabio Capello's squad this summer.
Foster started United's first eight league games this term with Edwin van der Sar out injured, but he was then ousted by Tomasz Kuszczak.
And with van der Sar having signed a new one-year deal in February and playing as well as ever, Foster has been limited to just one appearance for the Reds in 2010.
"I’ve had a chat with Ben and I understand his dilemma," Sir Alex said. "There’s nothing I can do about that [lack of action], to be honest with you. He’s a terrific goalkeeper and we’ll see what the future brings for the boy.
"In my mind he has a talent to be the England goalkeeper and we’re conscious of that. We’d like to help but unfortunately he’s not played enough football to get him on that plane to South Africa, I feel."

Birmingham to end Ben Foster's Manchester United misery by sealing £6m swoop for keeper
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/05/09/article-0-05F9F152000005DC-414_233x304.jpg
Birmingham have agreed a £6million deal with Manchester United for goalkeeper Ben Foster.
The two clubs held talks over the weekend and have struck a deal for the 27-year-old with a basic £4million being paid up front and the rest added according to performances and international caps.
It ends a period of frustration for Foster who has struggled in the shadow of Edwin van der Sar and realised his days were numbered with United scouting Manuel Neuer at Schalke and, number one target, Hugo Lloris of Lyon in recent weeks.
Foster said his goodbyes to teammates at Carrington on Saturday and will look forward to regular football at Birmingham from next season.
Birmingham also hope to sign Rangers striker Kris Boyd over the next few weeks on a free transfer.

(semoga menjadi kenyataan)

Hart backs Foster for Blues
Keeper disappointed he can't spend another season at St Andrews
http://img.skysports.com/09/10/800x600/foster2800_2371570.jpg
Joe Hart believes Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster would be a good replacement for him at Birmingham City next season.
World Cup hopeful Hart has spent the campaign on loan at Birmingham from Manchester City and was named the club's Player of the Year.
However, he is wanted back at Eastlands for next season, prompting Birmingham boss Alex McLeish to look elsewhere for a new keeper.
Reports have claimed that Foster will shortly complete a £4million switch to St Andrews after struggling for first-team opportunities at United this season.
Foster, who has missed out on a place in England's World Cup squad due to his lack of football, recently admitted he may have to leave Old Trafford to further his career.
Fantastic keeper
And Hart is confident that Foster is capable of making an impact at Birmingham, saying: "I think Ben will do it easily (follow me). He is a fantastic keeper.
"Ben has had some harsh criticism at Manchester United this season but, if he does turn out to be the Birmingham keeper next season, he will do a good job."
Hart wanted to remain at Birmingham next season, but accepts the final say was with Manchester City.
He said: "I just waited for my orders, and my orders were that I went back. I am contracted to Manchester City so that's where I will be.
"I will admit, it's sad. But it was out of my hands. If I could have stayed at Birmingham, I would, but it wasn't down to me.
"I didn't really want to leave, but I was told that I have to. It's just the way football is."

Foster Menuju Birmingham
Mohammad Resha Pratama - detiksport

£6m Ben Foster set to shine at Birmingham, says Alex McLeish
• 27-year-old goalkeeper signs three-year deal at St Andrew's
• McLeish: 'He is of the same kind of standard as Joe Hart'

The Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish hopes Ben Foster can resurrect his career with a fresh start at St Andrew's after signing the goalkeeper from Manchester United.
The England international has agreed a three-year contract after moving for an undisclosed fee, understood to be £6m. McLeish claimed Foster presented a better option than up to a dozen foreign goalkeepers, who he said were "a risk".
Foster has been brought in to replace Joe Hart, who excelled in a season-long loan spell from Manchester City but was unlikely to return for the new campaign.
The 27-year-old Foster found opportunities at Old Trafford limited and fell down the pecking order behind Edwin van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak after a number of unconvincing displays. He made just nine Premier League starts and his last first-team appearance came on 23 February against West Ham.
"It looks as if we've got another great acquisition with Ben Foster," said McLeish. "The goalkeeper is a massive position and we've now signed another young hungry keeper who wants to prove himself and live up to his potential. We believe he is of the same kind of standard as Joe Hart.
"Ben's situation is similar to Joe's in that he found himself twiddling his thumbs behind another top keeper in Van der Saar. Goalkeepers can go on forever so that one was a losing battle for Ben. He is ambitious and wants to play regular football and naturally doesn't want to play second fiddle."
McLeish said Birmingham's goalkeeping coach Dave Watson had highlighted Foster as a good replacement for Hart some time ago.
"We were looking at it even when Joe was here in the event that we wouldn't be caught short and to steal a march on other potential suitors," the manager said.
"There were another 10 or 12 foreign goalkeepers we looked at but didn't know enough about then and we didn't want to take a risk. But Dave Watson is a guy I trust and have given responsibility to and he did his homework on Ben.
"He knows everything about him, although ultimately it's my decision to choose the players and the goalkeeper. With due diligence we've done together we know that he's a very capable player. We think he can make a name for himself and it's up to him to do what Big Joe did."

United have completed the sale of Ben Foster to Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee.
The England-capped goalkeeper has signed a three-year contract with Alex McLeish's side.
Foster arrived from Stoke City in July 2005, and spent his first two seasons as a United player on loan at Watford, where his excellent form led to an international debut in February 2007.
His second campaign at Vicarage Road was curtailed by a cruciate knee ligament injury, delaying his United debut until March 2008.
A hero of United's 2008/09 Carling Cup final victory over Tottenham, Ben's first sustained spell of involvement came in the early part of last season.
However, the enduring excellence of Edwin van der Sar restricted Foster to just one appearance in 2010, prompting him to move in search of regular first-team football.
Everybody at Manchester United would like to wish Ben well for the future.=D>

Bailey: Foster a big loss
MEN, Stuart Mathieson - May 19, 2010
Gary Bailey believes the Reds may regret selling Ben Foster in the long run.
selengkapnya
Foster joined United from Stoke City in summer 2005 and had to bide his time for a prolonged shot at the Reds' No1 jersey.
When he was finally given his chance at the start of the season, while Edwin Van der Sar nursed a broken hand, the 27-year-old seemed unable to handle the pressure, making a number of costly high-profile mistakes.
Despite Foster spending two years on loan at Watford earlier in his United career, Bailey - who made more than 300 appearances in goal for the Reds between 1978-1987 - believes United should loan out Foster again instead of looking to cash in by selling him to Birmingham, with a move set to go through for £6m.
"I rate him he is a very good goalkeeper," Bailey said, who also kept goal for England.
"I think he has been unlucky. The problem with United is you can't work your way up for a number of years like you could when I was there. I learned my trade while playing for United, these days you don't.
Experience
"You have to learn somewhere else and you arrive at United as the finished product and, what's more, you have to be the finished product with a certain amount of experience.
"Outfield players can learn a little easily - the Federico Macheda's of this world are still stuck in the reserves because to be a starter you have to have experience. But as a goalkeeper, managers are looking for people who have played at the highest level. Therefore the only way you can see Foster staying at United is if he goes on loan and then comes back.
"A loan would work best, because I would hate, from United's point of view, to lose him and then for him to become England's next No1 and United will look back and say: `Why did we let him go?'
"I think you should treat him like Joe Hart has been treated - let him go out on loan at someone in the Premier League, gain enough experience and come back and say: `I am the complete deal now. I am ready to take over.' Bailey admits Foster has not been helped by the consistent displays of first choice shot-stopper Van der Sar who was recently rewarded with another one-year deal.
"Ed has been brilliant," he enthused.
"He has been the find of the last few years for United. He is so calm in defence and you have to feel sorry for Foster, who a year ago was England's first choice and Edwin comes back and poor Ben has disappeared into the background.
"That is the tough part of being a goalkeeper. There is no coming off the bench and making an impact so for Ben it has been tough but I think Edwin is one of the best goalkeepers in the world today and that is a hell of a compliment to say that about someone who is nearly 40.
"It's been a bit hit-and-miss for United. In previous seasons, if Wayne Rooney wasn't playing well Cristiano Ronaldo was frightening the living daylights out of teams and if he wasn't playing well then Carlos Tevez would be chasing and hounding and between the three of them they were absolutely unbelievable.
"Unfortunately, Dimitar Berbatov didn't quite come to the party. He has got the ability but he didn't quite gel and I think that is the problem. We didn't have someone alongside Wayne with that calibre so hopefully this summer break Fergie can sort that out."
While United may have relied too much on Rooney towards the end of the season Bailey insists the same cannot be said of England.
"Other England players can hurt the opposition," he pointed out. "You have Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard who are both different class and you have Peter Crouch who is an impact player, Aaron Lennon is another and Ashley Cole down the left is superb.
"I think it is a wonderful England team but the only question mark is the goalkeeper and who is going to be given that vote of confidence. I don't think the goalkeeper will have that much to do but I think that the team are as good as any and really it is about building belief and if they get a good opening result they can go all the way.
"You still need luck and you need all the players to perform but England have as good a squad as I have seen for a long time."

Boss confirms Foster bid
Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed United have accepted a bid from Birmingham City for goalkeeper Ben Foster.
Speaking at the New York launch of Tour 2010, the boss said: "I think Ben deserves the opportunity to do better for himself. That's the reason we accepted the offer. I still feel very strongly about this... I think he's the best English goalkeeper in England."
News sources in England were reporting on Tuesday that the 27 year-old was expected to complete a medical and agree personal terms before the end of the week. Foster joined United in July 2005 but has made just 23 appearances for the club.
United have been linked with a number of established goalkeepers from the European leagues in recent weeks, but Sir Alex told reporters in New York that he would place his faith in young stopper Ben Amos.
Amos, 20, has made just one first-team appearance (vs Middlesbrough in the Carling Cup third round in 2008/09), although he has consistently impressed for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reserve team this term.
Sir Alex said: "When we decided to let Ben [Foster] go, we were in the process of letting a good young goalkeeper, Ben Amos, go out on loan. He's in the England Under-21 team but we can only accommodate three keepers. So when the situation with Ben [Foster]'s future at United came up and we agreed to let him go, we stopped Ben Amos going on loan.
"He will now be our third keeper. He's very talented and has a good future ahead of him."

Ben Foster believes his move to Birmingham can kickstart his international career.
The 27-year-old has signed a three-year deal with Blues after leaving Manchester United in search of more first-team opportunities.
Foster, who has won four England caps, spent five years on the books at Old Trafford but failed to oust Edwin van der Sar as number one and has been overlooked by Fabio Capello for this summer’s World Cup.
Foster told Blues TV: “People say I have left Manchester United but I definitely don’t see it as a step back.
“I am really excited and think it is a big step forward for me to be playing first-team football in the Premier League.
“I love playing football and training is good but for me something needs to be there at the end of the week.
“I look forward to playing first-team football and that’s hopefully what I’ll be getting here.
“As long as things go well for me, and hopefully they will, I’ll be knocking on the England door again.”

Gapapa mister, namanya jg obsesi, biarin aja dy ngejer impiannya...Sukses buat Foster. Kesempatan buat AMos unjuk gigi...

Ben Foster criticises anti-Glazer protests at Manchester United
Ben Foster has criticised Manchester United supporters for protesting against the Glazers' unpopular regime at Old Trafford. The former United goalkeeper, who joined Birmingham City this week in a deal worth up to £6m, believes the fans should dedicate more time to supporting the club rather than "getting carried away with the technicalities of who's in charge".
Foster, whose comments are sure to go down badly with United supporters, also suggested the chants directed at the Glazer family during matches had been "a bit of a distraction" during a season when the club's only trophy was the Carling Cup. The 27-year-old went on to claim that the Glazers had always backed Sir Alex Ferguson in the transfer market.
His remarks came in response to a question about whether the club's decision to sell him was a reflection of their financial position. "I wouldn't have thought so, there's a lot made of it, maybe too much," Foster replied. "The fans are obviously passionate about the club but sometimes they need to focus on supporting the club a bit more than getting carried away with the technicalities of who's in charge.
"Personally I think the Glazers have always put money into Manchester United to buy players when needed. I don't think they need to buy too many players there anyway. They have a lot of very good young players coming up through the ranks who could do as good a job as anyone else they could bring in."
Foster was then asked whether he thought the supporter protests against the Glazers were one of the reasons why United failed to win more silverware last season. "Yes, it's a bit of a distraction when the fans are doing the chants at every game and things like that," he said before appearing to backtrack on his comments: "It's not something the players worry too much about, once you're out on the pitch it's blinkers on and you're concentrating on playing football. I wouldn't have thought it contributed too much to only winning the Carling Cup."
The former Stoke player missed out on the chance to go to the World Cup after dropping to third choice at United, behind Edwin van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak. Foster admitted that he "dropped a few clangers" at United earlier in the season but said he is determined to prove his critics wrong and make sure he is in the England squad for the 2012 European Championships. "I definitely have a big point to prove," Foster said. "A lot was said about me when I was in the team at Man United, I have got to prove my doubters wrong now.
"I'm going to look towards the Euros in a couple of years. That's the aim now. I want to get back in the England squad as soon as possible. But I need to concentrate on doing well and getting in the side at Birmingham and start advancing my career again. I've been in and out of the team at Manchester United and not playing regularly. It's been a topsy-turvy few years for me, not playing regularly. When I was on loan at Watford [between 2005-2007] it was something I enjoyed, being part of it, week in, week out. It's something I'm looking forward to again, being an integral part of the team."

Foster Tinggalkan "Tiga Singa"
LONDON, KOMPAS.com — Kiper Inggris, Ben Foster, mengalami cedera punggung. The Three Lions" melakoni laga persahabatan melawan Hongaria, Rabu (11/8/2010).
Foster mengalami cedera ketika sedang menjalani sesi latihan bersama "Tiga Singa".
(SKY)

Coach Clemence tips Foster to challenge Hart
Soccernet - October 7, 2010
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/15/article-1228062-0739AA4F000005DC-550_306x423.jpg
England goalkeeping coach Ray Clemence says Ben Foster can push Joe Hart for the number one position now he is playing regular first-team football.
Hart benefited from a season-long loan at Birmingham and has been Fabio Capello's first choice keeper for the opening three internationals of the current campaign.
Foster moved from Manchester United to St Andrew's in a £6 million summer move. He has started the season in fine form for Blues and Clemence believes he can push Hart all the way in the battle for the England jersey.
Clemence said: "Ben is injury free, which he hasn't been for a number of seasons, and like Joe Hart last season, he is playing regular football. If I looked at Joe in the first two months of last season, I could see decision-making errors because he hadn't been playing regularly.
"During the last two months of last season he was as good as anyone in the division, and playing regularly gives you those opportunities. But I am sure that Ben can push Joe. Joe is young, he wants to learn, is enthusiastic, has got great technical ability, is a good distributor of the ball which you need as a keeper these days.
"Ben is now playing regularly and is capable of pushing him and that's what you want as a manager. You don't want someone who gets comfortable in there. You want whoever is in there be pushed and to keep him on his toes and keep learning.
"As talented as he is, Joe is still young in goalkeeping terms. There are still the occasional blips. There will be but they will hopefully fewer and further apart because that's what the great keepers do.''
Clemence believes Hart and now Foster have benefited from working with Birmingham's goalkeeping coach, Dave Watson. He said: "Dave played under-21 football himself and got finished with a bad knee injury.
"I was up at Birmingham recently and Dave is a very good coach and an excellent communicator with the keepers. He has a good training programme which Joe benefited from and I am sure Ben is as well. There is a good relationship between all the keepers and Dave Watson. It is a nice set-up.''

Foster, Ironi Sang Penerus Gordon Banks
Narayana Mahendra Prastya - detiksport
Lee Bowyer memang pencetak gol tunggal kemenangan Birmingham 1-0 atas Chelsea, Sabtu (20/11/2010) malam WIB. Meski begitu jangan lupakan pula jasa Ben Foster.
Aksi Foster membuatnya mendapatkan pujian selangit.
Ketika memperkuat MU, Foster sempat diberitakan terlibat adu mulut dengan manajer Sir Alex Ferguson pasca laga melawan Sunderland, Oktober tahun lalu.
(nar/nar)

Foster Lebih Jago dari Hart
Rejdo Prahananda - Okezone
“Melawan Chelsea, dia menunjukkan kapasitasnya,” seru McLeish, mengomentari performa apik Foster. (wei)

Ben Foster Pensiun Dari Timnas Inggris
(tlk/zul)

Ben Foster admits he will return to Birmingham from West Brom if parent club gain promotion to the Premier League
By Joel Lamy at The Hawthorns
The keeper, on a season-long deal at The Hawthorns, admits he will almost certainly go back to his parent club if they go up, and attributes their League Cup win for their demise
http://u.goal.com/141200/141258hp2.jpg
Ben Foster has revealed that he will leave West Bromwich Albion to return to parent club Birmingham City if they are promoted at the end of the season.
The former Manchester United shot-stopper moved to The Hawthorns in the summer on a season-long loan deal after Blues were relegated last term, and he admitted after helping the Baggies secure a draw against Fulham that he would almost certainly not be staying if Chris Hughton's side secure promotion.
"As far as it stands it was a season-loan deal and that was that,” he told reporters.
"There was no kind of talks about if Blues stay up or if they get promoted or if they go down.
"There was nothing like that and no other clauses in the contract.
"It depends on what happens at the end of the season, if Birmingham go and get promoted and get back in the Premier League then I will be back there playing football with Birmingham - simple as that.
"If it doesn't happen then there is a decision to be made on both parties.
"I will have to bide my time and wait and see."
Despite West Brom's poor start to the season, the goalkeeper was confident that they would not suffer the same fate as Birmingham who went from the high of a League Cup win to slipping down to the Championship last season.
Indeed, Foster attributes the 2-1 win over Arsenal at Wembley as the main reason why Blues eventually fell into the bottom three whilst his current employers were able to spark a revival under Roy Hodgson and climb up the table to finish in 11th place.
"I think it was the cup that really did it and what took us down,” he added.
"It took so much out of us, more emotionally than anything. It was so tiring.
"I remember literally for two weeks afterwards the lads in training were just knackered.
"It was such a big effort from everyone it really did affect our Premier League form.
"There were some games towards the end of the season, particularly when we lost 2-0 to Fulham, it was such a poor performance from the lads it seemed like we were almost resigned to the fact we [would be] relegated.
"You could see something like that happening which was disappointing.”
West Brom were knocked out of the competition when they lost 2-1 in extra-time to Everton last week, but despite his belief that the cup was a distraction for his parent club last season, he revealed he was disappointed with the Baggies' exit.
"Well I would love to get to the final again,” he said, highlighting the conundrum which Premier League managers face when trying to select their team for cup matches.
Foster insisted that he had seen enough in the West Brom squad to know that a relegation battle is not on the cards.
"We'll be absolutely fine we will,” he said.
"We had the misfortune of getting relegated with Birmingham last season and I had the misfortune of getting relegated with Watford as well.
"I can see what you need in your team to avoid the drop. We have plenty of talent in this team to avoid the drop.
"I think realistically we have to be looking towards 10th and 11th places. That's our true position.
"We have just had a few disappointing results to the start of the season with the teams we have played against.
"I would like to think we will start picking up some points soon this season and start climbing up the table.”
One area that has been of particular concern to Baggies’ fans is the lack of clean sheets which has made it difficult for West Brom to stay in the Premier League for more than one season.
Since getting promoted in 2002, they have spent three seasons in the Championship, with this being their sixth in the top flight.
In 2009 they had the worst defensive record when they finished bottom and last year only Blackpool had a worse record.
Saturday’s result, however, meant they already have their second clean sheet this season – matching their efforts for the whole of last season – and Foster expects to see many more as the year progresses.
"I would like to think [we will get more clean sheets],” he said.
"We played six games this season and kept two clean sheets this season, it should have been three because of the Stoke game.
"I feel pretty comfortable with the team we have got and the back four especially.
"We'll keep a few clean sheets this season.
"At Birmingham we kept nine or 10 last season and I would like to keep a similar kind of tally this season as well.”
West Brom will continue to keep clean sheets if Foster makes saves like the one which prevented Bryan Ruiz from scoring on Saturday, where he diverted the striker’s close range shot onto the post.
However, the 28-year-old admitted that he had not realised he had made the save, before adding the players were disappointed not to have secured the team’s first home win of the season.
"I didn't even know I touched it,” he said.
"I don't know to be honest, I didn't think I got a touch on it.
"I was quite surprised he managed to put it wide from there. I was surprised he managed to miss the rebound.
"Considering it was 0-0 it was a fairly decent game.
"First half was probably a bit disappointing for the fans but second half I thought we were the better team.
"We had a lot more possession and created a good few chances.
"At the end of the day we are probably a little disappointed we didn't get three points.”

West Brom: Ben Foster on course for more clean sheets with West Bromwich Albion
by Christopher Lepkowski, Birmingham Mail
http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/birmmail/aug2011/7/6/ben-foster-image-1-334332090.jpg
BEN Foster believes he is on course for more clean sheets with Albion than he achieved with Blues last season.
The Baggies managed just two shut-outs during 2010-11 while Foster got nine with Blues, despite their relegation.
He has already chalked off two with Albion – against Norwich and Fulham – and is hopeful of hitting double figures before the season is done.
“I want to keep a clean sheet in every game I play,” said the 28-year-old, who is on a season-long loan from Blues.
“We did fairly well last season with clean sheets considering the position we finished in the league and I want to keep as many as possible this season. If I could equal what I kept last season or even exceed that it would be a great achievement.
“We kept quite a lot of clean sheets but that doesn’t hide the fact we still had a lot of chances against us. The lads in front of me were heading, clearing and blocking a lot of balls in front of me.
“I think I had the most saves to make in the Premier League last season.
“We were pretty good at giving teams chances that were long-distance shots.
“Here, the lads in front of me and even the midfield have worked hard to limit the opposition to very few opportunities.
“I haven’t had too much to do so far. Some of the goals I’ve conceded I could do little to do about.
“Last season at Birmingham I had far more to do and was more involved in play.
“This season we’ve genuinely been unlucky in some respects.
“The first Sunderland goal is an example. The (Nicklas Bendtner) shot hit Macca (Gareth McAuley).
“It was routine for me, would have been an easy catch, but it clipped his leg and went in.

Ben Foster: I did my homework
By Pascal Lemesre, Reporter
http://i.smimg.net/11/30/benfoster_20110501.jpg
Ben Foster has said that he knew he would dive to the right if Jonathan Walters stepped up for a penalty this afternoon.
The Potters were awarded a spot kick when one down in their Premier League fixture this afternoon but Walters saw his penalty saved by the English stopper.
West Brom went on to win 2-1 and edge further away from the relegation zone.
"We had a actually done a bit of homework," said Foster. "Dean Kiely, the goalkeeping coach, showed me the penalties before the game and I knew if Jonathan stepped up then I was always going to go to the right."
Roy Hodgson's men are now seven points clear of the drop zone.
