Rio Diprediksi Bermain Hadapi Burnley
Cedera yang dialami Rio Ferdinand sudah mulai pulih dan kemungkinan bisa diturunkan pada 16 Januari mendatang.

United sedang mengalami krisis di lini belakang. Selain Rio, cedera juga dialami Nemanja Vidic, John O'Shea dan Johnny Evans.

Ferdinand sendiri sudah tidak tampil lagi sejak akhir Oktober lalu karena mengalami cedera di bagian punggung. Hal itu sempat membuat Sir Alex Ferguson menempatkan pemain tengahnya untuk menjadi bek.

Namun menurut Daily Mirror, ada kabar baik bagi United. Ferdinannd sudah hampir pulih dan siap mengikuti latihan bersama rekan setimnya.

Pemain berusia 31 tahun itu bahkan sudah terlihat ikut berlatih bersama rekan-rekannya yang sedang mempersiapkan diri menghadapi Birmingham City.

Rio diprediksi baru bisa diturunkan pada 16 Januari mendatang, saat MU akan menghadapi Burnley di Liga Primer Inggris.

Kalau memang Rio sudah pulih, ini bukan saja jadi kabar baik buat MU tapi juga pelatih timnas Inggris Fabio Capello. Ferdinand merupakan salah satu pilihan utama Capello di lini pertahanan dan diharapkan bisa tampil di Piala Dunia 2010.

Preview: Man Utd v Burnley

Manchester United have the perfect opportunity to return to winning ways this weekend when Burnley, now managed by Brian Laws, visit Old Trafford.

After crashing out of the FA Cup at home to Leeds United, Sir Alex Ferguson's side stuttered to a 1-1 draw at Birmingham City last weekend and needed a Scott Dann own goal to take a point from the game.

United have won only three of their last six league matches and missed the chance to return to the summit of the table last weekend when three points at a freezing St Andrew's would have lifted them above Chelsea, whose game at Hull City had been postponed.

There are signs that United's injury crisis is finally easing though with only Rio Ferdinand (calf), John O'Shea (thigh) and Owen Hargeaves (knee) definitely out of Saturday's match, while Dimitar Berbatov is once again a doubt.

Ben Foster (back), Nemanja Vidic (calf) and Nani (ankle) could all come into contention but the best news for Ferguson could be the imminent return of veteran goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar.

The 39-year-old Dutchman has been caring for his wife who has been recovering from a brain haemorrhage, but she has now made a good recovery and van der Sar could feature in his first game since the Everton match in November.

Darren Fletcher is suspended following his late dismissal for two bookable offences at St Andrew's.

Burnley are still recovering from Owen Coyle's shock decision to leave Turf Moor to take up the managerial reins at Bolton Wanderers, although they did appoint Laws as his successor on Wednesday.

They also have a terrible record away from home, securing only one point from ten matches so far this season and start the game only two points clear of the drop-zone, having failed to win any of their last nine league matches since beating Hull City 2-0 in October.

However, they did produce one of the shocks of the season when they beat United 1-0 in August, although it will be even more of a surprise if they come away from Old Trafford with anything other than another defeat.

Edwin and Rio on brink of return

United could have Edwin van der Sar and Rio Ferdinand in contention to play after the pair both took part in training this week.

Ferdinand travelled with the Reds to Qatar for a training camp this week, while van der Sar returned from Holland where he was recovering from injury and spending time with his wife who fell ill over Christmas.

“We’ve had light at the end of the tunnel with Edwin coming back," said Sir Alex. "He’s done well. He’s been out for a few weeks with his personal situation. It’s great to see him back and that experience, when he does come into the team, will be very important. We'll see him today and see how he feels [about playing], but he's trained every day and is doing well."

Owen Hargreaves was also on the trip to Qatar and Sir Alex feels that the midfielder, who hasn't played since September 2008, is making progress. “We took Rio and Owen with us and they took part in some of the work we were doing. Again, there’s some light at the end of the tunnel, particularly with Rio. He won’t start on Saturday, but he isn’t far away which is good news. That's the important issue – getting defenders back into the team. We need our consistency back.”

There was further good news for United as Dimitar Berbatov appears to be coping with a troublesome knee injury. The Bulgarian trained in Qatar and does not feel he needs the recently recommended exploratory surgery. "He wants to play through it," says Sir Alex. "The advice was to have exploratory surgery. Sometimes he feels it, sometimes he doesn't. Maybe it was the warmer climate, but he didn't feel it in Qatar and trained every day. If it continues to be a problem we may have to make a decision. If we can see it through to the end of the season that would be better."

Manchester - Manchester United mendapat kabar baik menjelang pertarungannya melawan Burnley akhir pekan ini. Sebabnya, Edwin van der Sar dan Rio Ferdinand tampaknya siap merumput.

Van Der Sar dan Ferdinand punya kans bagus untuk bermain saat The Red Devils menjamu Burnley dalam lanjutan Liga Primer Inggris di Old Trafford, Sabtu (16/1/2010).

Van Der Sar absen dari pasukan MU sejak akhir tahun 2009 kemarin. Kiper 39 tahun itu harus kembali ke Belanda karena mendampingi istrinya yang mengalami pendarahan otak dan harus menjalani operasi. Tapi kini Van Der Sar telah kembali ke tim dan hal itu menyenangkan Fergie.

"Kami akhirnya melihat cahaya di ujung terowongan dalam latihan pekan ini karena Edwin van der Sar telah kembali berlatih," girang Fergie seperti yang dikutip AFP.

"Kondisinya bagus. Dia pergi beberapa pekan untuk urusan pribadi, tapi menyenangkan melihatnya kembali. Saat dia telah kembali, hal itu menjadi penting buat kami," imbuhnya.

Sementara, Ferdinand juga berangsur-angsur pulih dari cedera lututnya dan bek 31 tahun itu siap untuk menjaga lini belakang MU kembali setelah terakhir kali tampil saat 'Setan Merah' dipecundangi Liverpool, Oktober lalu.

Selain Van Der Sar dan Ferdinand, Ferguson juga mendapat kabar apik selama menggelar latihan di Qatar, yakni mulai pulihnya gelandang Owen Hargreaves dari cedera radang lutut yang telah membuatnya absen 16 bulan.

"Kami membawa Ferdinand dan Hargreaves (ke kamp latihan di Qatar) dan keduanya ambil bagian dalam latihan. Ada perkembangan bagus, khususnya buat Rio yang perkembangannya menggembirakan," paparnya.

Kehadiran Van Der Sar dan Ferdinand diharapkan akan mengokohkan lini belakang MU yang belakangan ini goyah. Tanpa kehadiran keduanya, MU terlalu sering kebobolan dan akibatnya hasil yang mereka raih pun tidak konsisten.

BRIAN LAWS took a leaf out of Sir Alex Ferguson’s book on mind-games by claiming the pressure will all be on Manchester United.

The 48-year-old also claimed that the whole country will be behind the Lancashire side.

Laws said: “There’s an air of confidence in the camp and the pressure has totally transferred on to Manchester United.

“They are having a sticky moment and this may be a good time to play them. We will go there with no fear and they will be very wary about whether Burnley will do the double over them.

“Burnley deserved the result at the start of the season and the whole country was delighted. It gave a realism back to football and this was what Burnley had been waiting for 30 years. There’s no reason why they can’t go and do it again, everything is possible.”

Ferguson is one of the few who can beat Laws’ number of games as a manager in England but he has until now plied his trade in the lower divisions racking up around 700 matches.

He said: “I don’t really need to justify it but people keep saying ’you haven’t got any managerial experience in the Premiership’. They are right but I can whitewash anybody in terms of games.”

marvelous comeback, bermain tenang seperti biasanya... penyelamatan free kick Burnley dimenit2 akhir jadi penyelamatan paling hebatnya.

G. Neville :
semakin keteteran, beberapa kali sisi kanan kita kosong, karena doi sering kalah sprint dan kehilangan posisi... kayaknya positif ini bakal jadi musim terakhirnya.

Beberapa kali mendapat peluang emas, sayang kurang bisa dioptimalkan. Yang paling gw inget semalem justru beberapa tekel keras cerobohnya. c'mon Scholesy... gw khawatir gaya ceroboh lo itu bakal jadi justifikasi pemain2 ISL.

Valencia :
Paling jadi andalan ditengah, hampir pasti setiap serangan berawal dari dia. Sayang skill gocekannya masih gitu2 aja dan lagi2 masih gak berani buat umpan dengan kaki kiri bahkan untuk umpan pendek yang paling sederhana sekalipun!

Berbatov :
Kalo bukan karena golnya, pasti nih orang banjir kritikan lagi.

Rooney :
Paling bekerja keras untuk mencetak gol, gw liat dia hampir frustasi, untung aja ada partner di depan. kayaknya emang kurang cocok buat jadi lone striker.

Anderson :
Bermain sedikit lebih baik daripada Carrick. Mungkin karena kita udah unggul ya, jadi gw ngeliatnya seperti itu.

Owen :
Lagi2 kurang maksimal, tipe striker model Owen kalo gw liat emang kurang bisa berbuat banyak kalo cuma dikasih sedikit menit bermain, pengecualian tentunya pas lawan City, tapi sayang itu cuma satu2nya yang bisa dia tunjukkan sebagai supersub.

Diouf :
