[EPL] Rovers vs Man Utd
Minggu, 11 April 2010
Kick Off : 19.30 WIB
Venue : Ewood Park Stadium

Blackburn Rovers vs Manchester United

Do or Die ..., every single match is the final match, remain 5 match to the end, could United retain the trophy and make a new history or the blue londoner could take over at the critical period.

Berbatov and Rooney scored at Old Trafford on first met with Rovers, now Rooney still absent due minor ligament, so Berba should prove to the world that he'snt a flop.

Klo waktu lawan Milan kan emang kita kalah, 0-3 bukan???
Jadi tetep optimis dong buat lawan Blackburn...

Liga Inggris Pekan Ini
Puncak Klasemen Pelipur Duka MU
Doni Wahyudi - detiksport

http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2010/04/08/72/MU-Getty285.jpg

Menang atas Blackburn sesungguhnya jadi harga mati buat The Red Devils.

Rooney misses Ewood trip

Wayne Rooney will miss Sunday's trip to Blackburn Rovers, but should be back for the Manchester derby.

The striker made a miraculous recovery from minor ankle ligament damage to start Wednesday's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, but aggravated the injury during United's defeat to the Germans.

He will now sit out the visit to Ewood Park on Sunday, but United boss Sir Alex Ferguson expects him to be available for the trip to Eastlands on 17 April.

"I don't think it's as serious as we said when he got the injury the first time, but I think he'll be ready for the City game," he told press at his pre-match press briefing. "We've got more time to work on it, anyway. Other than that, everyone else is fit."

Following United's midweek exertions against Bayern, Sir Alex says he will freshen up his starting XI for the clash with Sam Allardyce's side.

"Given the nature of the game on Wednesday and the energy spent, we have to address the situation of freshness," he said.

"We've got a a squad to use - we have the likes of Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville and we also have John O'Shea back now. He came on against Bayern and did 30 minutes' work - it's good to get him back because he's such a versatile player for us.

"Sam Allardyce's team is in fantastic form. Blackburn is always a difficult place to go and they have a good home record. Hopefully we can get the energy back in the team. If we do that we'll be all right."

Blackburn Rovers (11th) v Manchester United (2nd)

Manchester United travel to face Blackburn Rovers keen to recover from last week's defeat to Chelsea with a win that will see them return to the top of the Barclays Premier League.
Blackburn Rovers team news

Sam Allardyce will have to decide whether to stick with 18-year-old centre-back Phil Jones or recall Blackburn skipper Ryan Nelsen.

Jones has been superb in the last four matches but Nelsen is back in the squad after returning from a knee injury.

Keith Andrews and Vince Grella, out previously with calf and knee injuries respectively, are also included in a full squad for Allardyce to choose from.

Manchester United team news

Sir Alex Ferguson is promising changes for Manchester United's must-win trip to Blackburn on Sunday.

Wayne Rooney (ankle) is definitely out, so Dimitar Berbatov is expected to be recalled.

However, after playing almost an entire half against Bayern Munich with 10 men, Ferguson needs to freshen up his squad, with Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes all set to start at Ewood Park.

squads

Blackburn: Robinson, Brown, Dunn, Olsson, Salgado, Pedersen, Nzonzi, Samba, Nelsen, Andrews, Givet, Jacobsen, Grella, Hoilett, Roberts, Diouf, Kalinic, Chimbonda, Jones, Emerton, Di Santo, Basturk.

Man United: Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Foster, Neville, O'Shea, Rafael, De Laet, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Scholes, Fletcher, Park, Gibson, Obertan, Valencia, Giggs, Nani, Berbatov, Macheda, Diouf.

United can return to the top of the table with a win at Ewood Park on Sunday, but Blackburn would like nothing more than to thow a spanner in the works...

Form guide: Mid-table Blackburn’s home form has been the reason why they can look forward to top-flight football next term, having been stuck in the relegation quagmire for the first half of the campaign. A 2-1 win over Birmingham and a 1-1 draw with Chelsea are latest results in a seven-game unbeaten league run at Ewood Park this year. United will be determined to banish the hurt of Wednesday's European exit to Bayern Munich with a victory that would lift the Reds back to the top of the table, with Chelsea not in league action until midweek. United beat Blackburn 2-0 at Old Trafford in October and are unbeaten in eight matches with our north-west neighbours.

Ins and outs: Although Wayne Rooney was a surprise starter against Bayern, he was taken off after 55 minutes with an aggravation of his ankle injury, and Sir Alex's post-match quotes suggest he will not be back until the Manchester derby on April 17. John O’Shea came on for Wayne to end a five-month lay-off with a thigh problem. while the Reds' other absentees are Danny Welbeck (knee), Michael Owen (hamstring), Anderson (knee), Wes Brown (toe) and Owen Hargreaves (knee). Blackburn are waiting on late fitness tests for Keith Andrews (calf), Yildiray Basturk (hamstring) and Lars Jacobsen (groin), while Ryan Nelsen came through 90 minutes for the Reserves this week, having been out of the team since February with a knee injury.

Star man: Attacking midfielder David Dunn is Rovers' top scorer with nine goals this season. He’s back to full fitness after being plagued by an Achilles injury at the end of last season and the start of this one. Dunn was the toast of his hometown last month when he scored the winner against Burnley from the spot. It was his third goal in two games following a brace in the win over Birmingham.

Manager: After steering Bolton to promotion to the Premier League in 2001/02, Sam Allardyce has become one of the longest-serving managers in the top flight. A good friend of Sir Alex, 'Big Sam' left the Trotters in 2007, citing a desire to win silverware as his reason for moving on. A short, unsuccessful spell at Newcastle followed, before he took up the reins at Blackburn in December 2008. He has guided his side to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup this term, with his team now on 42 points, his target for the campaign is 50. “It would be a great finish to the season,” he says. “We've a lot to do to get there, given the difficulty of the games we have to play, but it is possible.”

Referee: This will be the fourth time that Peter Walton has taken charge of a United game this season. He’s officiated twice when United have faced Wolves – in the Carling Cup win in September, when he sent off Fabio, and March’s 1-0 league victory at Molineux. Walton was also in the middle for February’s 1-1 draw at Aston Villa, in which Nani received his marching orders, and the 4-0 triumph at West Ham in December.

Rivals watch: Chelsea face Villa in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday and their next league match is against Bolton on Tuesday. Third-placed Arsenal make the short trip to Spurs for Wednesday's north-London derby.

Big Sam: Fergie will get no favours from Blackburn

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/match-centre/article379417.ece/ALTERNATES/gallery-large/Sam+Allardyce.jpeg

Sam Allardyce is fuming at suggestions that Blackburn will throw one in to help Manchester United’s title bid.

Rovers manager Allardyce joined his pal Sir Alex Ferguson at Aintree on Thursday to cheer the Reds boss’ horse What A Friend to victory.

But Allardyce said: “I take offence at the idea we will allow United to come here and have the points. There is no chance of that.

“The only favours I dish out are by beating other teams that are close to them. You always want to do well against United and not because I am friendly with Sir Alex but because it is a local derby.”

Bring on Manchester United, says Blackburn Rovers defender Samba
-lancashiretelegraph.co.uk-

http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Football/Clubs/Club_Home/2010/1/17/1263748172446/Blackburn-Rovers-v-Fulham-001.jpg

CHRIS Samba will be gutted not to be facing Wayne Rooney at Ewood Park tomorrow – after warning ‘we can beat United with or without Roo’.

Manchester United’s talismanic striker is expected to miss the Premier League clash with an ankle injury to boost Blackburn Rovers’ hopes of picking up another Ewood scalp, but Samba insists he would prefer to play against the Champions’ very best.

Rovers have lost just three home games out of their last 27 during Sam Allardyce’s Rovers reign and stand-in skipper Samba insists ‘fortress Ewood’ will strike fear into any side’s hearts.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already ruled Rooney out of Sunday’s clash but, with the Scot no stranger to mind games, Rovers will be prepared for anything United have to throw at them.

Samba said: “There is no reason at Ewood Park why we can’t beat anyone. We believe it will take a lot to beat us at home. We have a good home record this season.

“There is a good atmosphere at the ground and that helps to push us on to have more strength. We are ready to play against the best.

“I will be disappointed if Rooney does not play. I don’t know about the others but I definitely feel like that. I want to test myself against the best. I don’t see the point in not wanting to challenge yourself.

“Having said that, although he is an important player they have other great players. They are a dangerous team with or without him.”

Samba’s central defensive partner remains unknown, with Sam Allardyce admitting he faces a selection dilemma between 18-year-old Phil Jones and the fit-again captain Ryan Nelsen.

In Nelsen’s absence, Samba has been wearing the armband with great aplomb but the giant defender insists he would have no problems in giving it up tomorrow.

He said: “Phil Jones has shown his quality and I am sure he has a good future. He is a talented lad, who keeps his head down and works hard and I am very happy for him.

“It has been good to captain the team and I have tried to do it the best I can. Ryan Nelsen will be hoping he comes back though and he has been a great leader for so long.

“Every time you play against the champions it is difficult.

"But we try to beat them every time. A couple of years ago they scored in the 90th minute to get a draw and that was their best team.”

Blackburn v Man United Preview: Ryan Nelsen Sounds a Warning Note
-football.fanhouse.co.uk-

http://www.blogcdn.com/football.fanhouse.co.uk/media/2010/04/ryan-nelsen-10410.jpg

BLACKBURN ROVERS:
Ryan Nelsen wants Manchester United to win the Premier League, but the Blackburn skipper has warned Sir Alex Ferguson's wounded side not to expect any favours at Ewood Park.

Nelsen could return to the side for the visit of United after missing the last six league matches due to a knee injury.

And although the New Zealand international defender is a huge admirer of United, Nelsen is determined to add to United's misery following their Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Blackburn are safely cushioned in mid-table but, with a home game against Arsenal on the penultimate weekend of the season, Sam Allardyce's side will have a big say where the title is heading.

"We can affect the final outcome of the Premier League title and that is really exciting when you can do that," said Nelsen.

"In all honesty I would like to see the Premier League stay up north. It is not like I am fan but I would like Manchester United to win it again just because of my northern allegiances. It is good for the area.

"Of course we won't do them any favours though. Our form at Ewood Park has been proven over the whole season though and that is partly due to the fantastic crowd behind us. Ewood has been a fortress for us and I'm sure United won't look forward to coming here."

Rovers manager Allardyce, who dented Chelsea's title charge last month, spent Thursday with United manager Ferguson at Aintree races.

Ferguson was offered some consolation from Wednesday night's European exit after his horse 'What A Friend' proved a winner, but Allardyce is determined not to hand his friend further cheer this weekend.

"Sunday is a very competitive local derby for us and all the lads are looking forward to the game," said Allardyce. "We did well against Chelsea a few weeks ago and we will be looking to do that again on Sunday."

Strategy: Beware the wounded animal. That will be Allardyce's message to his players before this game. But having enjoyed a decent season in front of their own fans, Blackburn will not be the opponents United had hoped for as they look to keep their title hopes alive. Nikola Kalinic has endured a stuttering start to his Ewood Park career, but this is the perfect stage for the Croatian forward to show he is worth every penny of the £6m Rovers shelled out for him last August.

Injury Update: Nelsen has been out since February with a knee injury but came through a midweek reserve game and could feature. Vince Grella also played in that game, but came off after a clash of knees. Keith Andrews (calf), Yildiray Basturk (hamstring) and Lars Jacobsen (groin) will undergo late fitness tests.

MANCHESTER UNITED:
Ferguson always insists he is confident that his players can bounce back from disappointment but the main frustration of the past week is that even a perfect finish to the campaign might not be enough.

Out of the Champions League and trailing Chelsea by two points, United can only win and hope.Victory at Ewood Park would take them a point above Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Ferguson will not accept that the title is Chelsea's to lose until he sees John Terry jumping up and down with the trophy but he has made little attempt to unsettle the Londoners in the way he has attempted to disrupt the likes of Newcastle, Blackburn and Arsenal in the past.

A record fourth straight title appears to be a distant dream now but Ferguson is confident his players can respond at Ewood Park. He said: "It's not the first time we've had to face losing a big game and having to do something about it. We've got five games left and they're five important games.

"Even if we win all of them it doesn't mean we can win the league, with the position Chelsea are in but they've got those games to play themselves and at this time of the season, things can happen.

"We've faced this situation many times over the years after the disappointment of Wednesday. It's part of the history of the club and we've been good at that.

"That's the thing the players need to be reminded of, they've done it in the past many times because they, as Manchester United players, always have to face the responsibility and expectation.

"They have a chance to win the league and so have Arsenal who are a point behind us but you'd rather be in Chelsea's position, two points in the lead with five games left. We hope that something can happen. Five wins would give us a good chance but I think Chelsea will be thinking the same thing and five wins gets them the title."

Strategy: With no Wayne Rooney once again, Ferguson will be wondering whether to go with Dimitar Berbatov as a lone striker. He has acknowledged that is his preferred system and, although he backed the Bulgarian, he also intimated that it does not suit the former Tottenham man.

If he does go with Berbatov, he will either have to play another forward, Federico Macheda or Mame Biram Diouf, or put a midfielder in position to get beyond the lone striker.

Blackburn have lost just twice at home all season and Ferguson knows exactly what to expect from the team of his old friend Allardyce, meaning that the likes of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand will be crucial.

He has also claimed that bringing back the experience of Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville could be crucial at Ewood Park. "Blackburn are Blackburn," he said. "Sam's got the best out of his players and that's what good managers do.

"They're 11th in the league, their form has been good, some of their recent form has been very good. It's never easy going to Blackburn and it won't be on Sunday."

Injury Update: Rooney is absent with his ankle problem and Wes Brown is still out with a foot injury, while Michael Owen, Anderson and Danny Welbeck are long-term absentees.

Salgado warns Man Utd of major Blackburn test
-tribalfootball.com-

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01511/michel-salgado_1511385c.jpg

Despite having nothing to play for, Michel Salgado says Blackburn Rovers will go at Manchester United full throttle.

United trail title leaders Chelsea by two points and visit Rovers knowing anything but a win will leave their season in tatters.

Former Spain international Salgado, 34, told The Sun: "This is a massive game for everyone at this club and it would be great to beat United at home in front of our own fans.

"I have beaten United in a Madrid shirt but now I need to beat them in the shirt of Blackburn - that would be perfect for me.

"I've always felt that in 2000, even though we won the Champions League in Paris, it was at United we really won it."

Jelang Blackburn vs MU
Rooney Absen, Allardyce Lega
Kris Fathoni W - detiksport

http://www.detiksport.com/images/content/2010/04/10/72/eooG.jpg

United Wajib Sapu Bersih!

Umpan silang Ryan Giggs disambut coba disambut Nemanja Vidic. Upaya tim tamu berhasil dikandaskan oleh Samba.

Kans Setan Merah kembali datang tujuh menit berselang.

Satu jam usia laga, tendangan bebas Nani masih melambung di atas gawang The Rovers.

Gelombang serangan pasukan Sir Alex Ferguson masih belum berhenti.

Sepuluh menit menuju bubaran, peluang emas didapatkan MU.

Manchester United's season is in danger of fizzling out after a lacklulstre point at Blackburn.

The Reds' European hopes were ended on Wednesday by Bayern Munich and Sunday's draw at Ewood Park means it is advantage Chelsea in the race for the Premier League.

Antonio Valencia missed United's best chance when, through one on one with Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson, the Ecuadorian's shot was saved.

United are now a point behind Chelsea having played a game more than their Stamford Bridge rivals and Arsenal will go ahead of the Reds if they win their game in hand.

Although United gradually took control, on a sunny afternoon, the first half took on the air of a pre-season contest.

On Blackburn’s part, the lack of urgency was understandable given their position firmly wedged in mid-table.

For United it was an altogether different story.

After all, they are still supposed to be playing for the title.

Indeed, while it might only be because Chelsea were on FA Cup duty on Saturday, the prize for victory was a place at the top of the table.

Despite their torpor, United should have been in front at the break.

Valencia was the recipient of both clear-cut chances.

The first was created by Federico Macheda, making his first Premier League start of the season.

Valencia effort

Valencia charged on to the young Italian’s neat pass with purpose and let fly with a powerful effort that was heading for the bottom corner until Paul Robinson made a fine low save.

Berbatov was the architect of the second.

Ferguson had little choice other than to declare his trust in the Bulgarian given Wayne Rooney was missing with an ankle injury.

But it was a largely unhappy afternoon for United’s £30.75million record signing, who was reduced to arm-waving and head-shaking as his meaningful contribution until he threaded a pass through to Valencia.

The South American eagerly latched on to the chance but again Robinson denied him, this time at close quarters.

As there was no immediate injection of focus or direction after the interval, so Ferguson decided to sacrifice Giggs, who admittedly had been fairly anonymous.

Outstanding earlier this season, the Welshman has struggled for form since recovering from his broken arm.

His replacement, Darron Gibson, is at least prepared to shoot, as he proved in midweek.

The Irishman’s aim was a bit askew. But at least he tried as United’s season began to crumble around them.

That Scholes chose to play on as Berbatov was down and apparently injured after a crunching collision with Nelsen seemed to tell its own story about the discontent in the United camp.

Friction between Edwin van der Sar and Ferdinand would be less easy to understand, although there was a clear lack of communication between the pair as, under no pressure, England’s new captain booted a ball out for a corner the keeper was about to collect.

Berbatov’s unhappy afternoon continued when he failed to test Robinson, having been set up by Neville and then fired wide after a long throw from the full-back bounced straight through the Blackburn defence.

It was almost an epitaph for his entire United career, and when Neville’s late scuffed effort rolled wide, the vast travelling support knew their season was in grave danger of ending in disappointment.

Van der Sar - A virtual spectator. Barely had a save to make, but put the defence at ease, claiming everything in the air. 7

Neville - Recalled after missing Wednesday’s Champions League exit. Rarely troubled and always looking to create in attack. Set Berbatov up with one of United’s best chances. 7

Ferdinand - His broken finger was stomach turning, but he shrugged it off and put in an imperious display at the back. 7

Vidic - Dominant in the air and had to be given Rovers’ aerial threat. Commanding, but it wasn’t enough to inspire the players ahead of him. 7

O’Shea - Good to see the Irishman back, playing on the left of defence in place of Patrice Evra, looked as comfortable as ever. 7

Valencia - Had United’s two best chances in the first half and certainly should have done better when one on one with Robinson just before the break. 6

Scholes - Sprayed the ball around as he always does, but rarely found a way through Blackburn’s defence. 6

Giggs - Surprising choice in central midfield with Scholes, but stood up to the task well with some smart passes before replaced by Gibson. 6

Nani - Had one of those days. Numerous mis-placed crosses infuriated both Berbatov and Macheda. Too often shot when should have looked for the pass. 5

Berbatov - Cut a frustrated figure, bickering with team-mates over lack of service, for which he had a point. Great pass to set up Valencia in the first half. But missed a good chance late on. 7

Macheda - Deserved much better service. Nothing wrong with his runs or positioning, just didn’t get the service he required. 6

Substitutes

Gibson (for Giggs 57) - Brought more muscle to the midfield but little else. 6

Park (for Macheda 66) - Gave United some extra spark, but couldn't make any real impact. 6

Evra (for O’Shea 78) - That he was called for when United needed a goal shows how little firepower they have. 5

Fergie: United draw great for Chelsea

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted Chelsea had been handed the advantage in the race for the Premier League after his side fought out a goalless draw with Blackburn at Ewood Park.

United, without the injured Wayne Rooney, relied on Dimitar Berbatov in attack but the best two chances of the game fell to Antonio Valencia in the first half.

Chelsea, who beat Aston Villa 3-0 at Wembley on Saturday to reach the FA Cup final, now lead the table by one point with a game in hand over United.

Ferguson said: “That’s a fantastic result for them (Chelsea). They’ve got a home game against Bolton on Tuesday which they will be expected to win.”

Ferguson rued the missed chances, particularly one by Valencia just before half-time.

He added on Sky Sports News: “He should have scored. It was a golden chance and at a good time, five mins before half-time.

“We had the chances in the game. We dominated possession but you have to create those chances and take them.

“It’s always a difficult place to come to for anyone. We should have done better.”

Blackburn 0 Man United 0: Sir Alex Ferguson left frustrated again as United's title hopes are virtually extinguished
-dailymail.co.uk-

Manchester United's Premier League title challenge is all but over as a season that promised so much just a fortnight ago is in danger of total collapse.

Despite dominating almost all their clash with Blackburn at Ewood Park, Sir Alex Ferguson's men rarely looked like making their pressure tell.

Paul Robinson needed to make two excellent saves to deny Antonio Valencia before half-time, but afterwards, with United so desperate for the points, the former England number one had surprisingly little to do.

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/04/11/article-0-0917A925000005DC-229_468x335.jpg
Going down: Berbatov is challenged by Steven Nzonzi

Not for the first time recently, Dimitar Berbatov was a major disappointment and the fact Rio Ferdinand was feeling his groin towards the end suggested a problem Fabio Capello will not want.

There are no worries for Chelsea though, who still lead the Red Devils by a point, with a game in hand, knowing the main danger to their championship aspirations now lies much closer to home, at Arsenal.

Although United had not actually lost their last three games, that is how it felt.

Even Sir Alex Ferguson spoke in those terms ahead of the clash, a 3-2 win over Bayern Munich apparently not enough to take away the feeling of desolation an away-goals Champions League exit.

In such circumstances, a rip-roaring response would normally be anticipated, the players sent out to represent Ferguson eager not to let their manager down. On this occasion, such urgings fell on deaf ears.

Although they gradually took control, on a sunny afternoon, the first half took on the air of a pre-season contest.

On Blackburn's part, the lack of urgency was understandable given their position firmly wedged in mid-table.

1. MU memenangi seluruh laga sisa VS City (A),Spurs(H),Sunderland(A),and Stoke (H): poin 85
2. berharap Chelsea tersandung di 2 laga yakni;seri lwan Spurs(A),dan kalah lawan Liverpool(A) = poin 84
A), and Blackburn (A) = poin 82

GLORY UNITED!!! tetap berjuang sampe akhir!!!!

Berba jadi kambing hitam sepertinya...

sampai kapan opa...mereka masa jayanya udah lewat....

1. MU memenangi seluruh laga sisa VS City (A),Spurs(H),Sunderland(A),and Stoke (H): poin 85
2. berharap Chelsea tersandung di 2 laga yakni;seri lwan Spurs(A),dan kalah lawan Liverpool(A) = poin 84

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce: Manchester United are not the same without Wayne Rooney

Rovers earned a draw against the three-time defending champions

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce has acknowledged that Manchester United are not the same without star striker Wayne Rooney after his team held the Red Devils to a scoreless draw at Ewood Park on Sunday.

With the England international on the sidelines Dimitar Berbatov and Federico Macheda were trusted with the attacking duties on Sunday.

Both attackers never looked like they were going to get on the score sheet, and United dropped two critical points in the Premier League title race.

Allardyce admitted that United are not as formidable as when they have Rooney up front.

"Are they as good without Rooney? No they're not,” Allardyce told The Sun.

"Statistics tell you that their third-biggest scorer is own goals - and that's very unlike United.

"I don't think we rattled Berbatov. We made a contact on him as we needed to early on. You can't let a player as good as him get on the ball.

"You have to get tight on his first touch and close him down.

"Is he easy to defend against? I don't think so. Perhaps the finishing's not there but the creativity is.

The draw is a big blow to United’s hopes of winning a fourth consecutive Premier League title, but the result is not surprising considering Blackburn’s record against top four teams this season.

Liverpool, Chelsea and now Manchester United have only managed to earn a draw at Ewood Park, and the Blackburn boss is proud of their ability to play tough at home.

"We were outstanding. This home record is looking very good now.

"We've had Chelsea here twice - once in the Cup, once in the league - and they have not beaten us.

"Liverpool have been here and not beaten us and now Manchester United have not beaten us either.

"It shows how much we've grown in stature this season after a difficult start, with so many changes in the summer.

"Real credit must go to the players for their organisation, defence and resilience.”
