The seven contenders in the running for PFA Player of the Year award.
While last season Wayne Rooney's exceptional form for Manchester United made the PFA Player of the Year winner almost a formality, this year there is precious little between the seven nominees in the running to be crowned the Premier League's best player.
Gareth Bale's European exploits on Tottenham's unexpected UEFA Champions League adventure has seen the bookies install him as their favourite, but it would be premature to rule out a surprise victor given the topsy-turvy nature of the Premier League this term.
Refreshingly, two of the seven players in contention come from clubs who could yet lose their top flight status as the herculean efforts of Scott Parker and Charlie Adam have been recognised by their fellow pros.
It's possible to make a case for each of those in the running for what is the most open race for the PFA Player of the Year in years, with Sunday 17th April the date in which the winner will be announced.
Carlos Tevez
The Argentine hit-man had a lot to live up to this season after a fine first year at Manchester City but he has done just that, securing a second straight nomination. 19 goals in 27 Premier League games is testimony to a striker in supreme form. Click here for full profile.
Gareth Bale
Wing wizard Bale has enjoyed such an incredible campaign that he has sent shockwaves not just through the Premier League but the whole of Europe with a series of blistering displays for Tottenham. His two performances against Inter Milan will go down in Spurs folklore.
Samir Nasri
Such has been Nasri's Arsenal form during the campaign that he has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award along with the Young Player of the Year prize. The Frenchman has faded a little but his wonderful early season performances should not be forgotten.
Scott Parker
Captain marvel Parker has been in sensational form for West Ham this season and if they do escape the drop, then it will be in no small part down to his leadership qualities. Perhaps no single player in the league can claim to be as important to their club as Parker.
Charlie Adam
Charlie Adam has seen his star rise to incredible heights after a brilliant debut season in the Premier League with Blackpool and fully deserves his place on the PFA short list. Blackpool may still go down but it won't be down to a lack of effort on Adam's part.
Nemanja Vidic
As the rock at the back for Manchester United this season, Nemanja Vidic is a worthy contender for the PFA Player of the Year 2010/11 crown. He's won it before and few would deny he's recaptured such form again for much of the current campaign.
Rafael van der Vaart
Had the second half of his campaign matched the first he would be a shoo-in for the senior gong but while it's unlikely he'll be walking away with individual silverware when the votes are in, few would dispute he's been the signing of the season.

PFA young candidates
The votes are in and have been verified as the PFA whittle down their Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year nominees to seven in each category. Wayne Rooney is the current holder of both titles, with the award ceremony to take place on Sunday 17th April.
If the future of football is based on the quality of those players coming through then this season's candidates for the PFA Young Player of the Year paint a bright picture for the Premier League.
There are few more edifying sights in football than witnessing a young player blossom and within the list of seven nominees there are a number that have established themselves as stars not just in this country but across Europe. With perhaps the exception of Seamus Coleman, who has done so brilliantly for Everton this season in his first full term, the rest of those nominated are now seasoned pros and established as key players for their respective clubs.
Whoever is crowned the Premier League's finest young player will prove a worthy winner in what is the strongest category at this level for years.
1. Samir Nasri
http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/07CyfHj2gZ6mS/220x.jpg
Such has been Nasri's Arsenal form during the campaign that he has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award along with the Young Player of the Year prize. The Frenchman has faded a little but his wonderful early season performances should not be forgotten.

3. Javier Hernandez
http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0dXi6of2Ms6dk/220x.jpg
There is no denying the massive impact pint-sized Mexican striker Javier Hernandez has had for Manchester United on his debut season at Old Trafford and it's no surprise he's a leading contender for the PFA prize. Combining a fine work ethic with a clinical nature in front of goal, Hernandez is already a United favourite.
4. Nani
http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/07yL6sQ8Pb4cd/232x353.jpg?center=0.5,0
Nani has stepped up to the plate for Manchester United and has been their most potent attacking force for much of the campaign. The spectre of Cristiano Ronaldo still lingers at Old Trafford but Nani is doing his best to exorcise it with a series of mature displays.
5. Jack Wilshere
http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0bXQg2lbiT7d3/232x285.jpg?center=0.5,0
Arsenal's classy and mature central midfielder, Wilshere, is the exception to the belief that England no longer produces technically-gifted talent. The talented schemer will be among the favourites to scoop the PFA prize and few would deny he would make a worthy winner.
6. Seamus Coleman
http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0bKD8kp5iN5Lv/439x.jpg
Without question Seamus Coleman is the least celebrated name on the list to be in contention for the Young Player of the Year gong, but in terms of what he has offered his club this season he is more than worthy of being considered in such esteemed company. Click here for full profile.
7. Joe Hart
http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0gj90Tr1h36P5/232x144.jpg?center=0.5,0
Joe Hart's second successive nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award is richly deserved. Manchester City's talented goalkeeper has established himself as the undisputed No.1 for both club and country over another outstanding 12 months.

Payah PFA nih, Berba ga ada di nominasi. Nani malah masuk Young nominate.
Di young nominate susah nih ada nama Wilshere yg melejit di timnas senior Inggris, dan Gareth Bale jg. Pesismis Chicharito sm Nani bs menang.

John O'Shea Kaget Nani Tidak Masuk Terbaik PFA

Nani Kecewa Tak Masuk Nominasi PFA

Gareth Bale wins the Player of February 2010 to February 2011 award
Who sponsors these awards again?
http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv189/zudomiriku/zudo%20II/pfaplayerbale.jpg
Congratulations to Gareth Bale on winning the PFA Player of the Year award. The Spoiler had been sceptical of the Welshman’s credentials for winning the award but, having sat in a dark corner and thought it through, we’ve decided that it’s just about fair enough.
Going from when the players voted last season to the time they stuck their grubby paw print on the form this year, Bale has been pretty bloody good. He was excellent at the end of last season and was a huge contributor to Spurs getting into the Champions League at the end of last term - not to mention his European form this season. League-wise this season - meh.
Jack Wilshere is thoroughly deserving of the young player gong and it’s hard to argue with his fellow players on this one. HOWEVER! We’re going to give it a go…
While we think Bale and Wilshere’s victories are not too wide of the mark, The Spoiler’s winners - or the REAL winners as some are calling them - are…
Player of the Year - Scott Parker (West Ham United)
Young Player of the Year - Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur)
Parker has been brilliant for a good 12 months and is the single biggest reason that West Ham still have a chance of staying in the Premier League. As Bale himself said:
“Playing in a good team with good players definitely helped me a lot and all the boys have been fantastic.”
Parker has been a lone beacon of brilliance in West Ham’s season and because of that, he gets the nod. Bale gets the whippersnapper award because of the reasons what we wrote down in the second paragraph.
Disagree? We know you do - sorry - put us in our place below…
