Jakarta - Nicolas Anelka menjadi pemain ke-15 yang bisa mencetak 100 gol di Premier League. Ia pun bergabung dengan 'Klub 100', di mana di dalamnya berkumpul nama-nama seperti Thierry Henry dan Alan Shearer.

Yang dimaksud dengan 'Klub 100' di sini adalah kumpulan pemain yang sudah menorehkan 100 gol atau lebih sejak dimulainya era Premier League tahun 1992. Shearer memimpin klub ini dengan koleksi 260 golnya.

Sementara itu, mantan penyerang Manchester United, Andy Cole, duduk di urutan dua dengan 187 gol. Mantan tandem sehati Cole di Manchester United, Dwight Yorke, juga masuk klub ini. Yorke menempati posisi sembilan dengan koleksi 123 gol.

Sedangkan Thierry Henry duduk di urutan tiga. Selama delapan musim masa baktinya bersama Arsenal, penyerang asal Prancis itu sukses menorehkan 174 gol. Berikut adalah 'Klub 100' Premier League seperti dilansir Daily Mail.

Wayne Rooney has joined an elite club after scoring his 100th Premier League goal.

The Manchester United striker's accomplished finish in the 3-1 win at Arsenal saw him chalk up the ton.

He is only the 18th player to reach the milestone, moving level with team-mate Ryan Giggs who also has 100 goals to his name.

Another club colleague, Paul Scholes, will hope to be the next to reach the magic mark. He is next in line on 99 goals.

Rooney though will have set his sights on overhauling former Southampton star Matthew Le Tissier who was the first midfielder to get the ton up, finishing his career on 101.

Next on the radar will be Aston Villa's Emile Heskey on 105 but Rooney has some way to go to catch the Premier League's all-time leading marksman Alan Shearer.

The former Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers and Southampton striker heads the list with a remarkable tally of 260 goals - 73 clear of Andy Cole in second place.

Youngest Goalscorer

Rooney's first Premier League goal also came against Arsenal. He was just five days short of his 17th birthday when he netted the winner for Everton against the Gunners on 19th October 2002.

At the time he was the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history although that record has since been surpassed by both James Milner and James Vaughan.

This season he has been in awesome form and has taken over the goalscoring mantle from Cristiano Ronaldo, revelling in the extra responsibility and freedom since the winger's departure for Real Madrid.

He has already hit a best ever total of 20 goals in just 23 Barclays Premier League appearances.

His tally was boosted by his first ever four-goal haul when he was the sole scorer in the 4-0 home win against Hull City on 23rd January.

That followed hard on the heels of his first hat-trick for three years as he netted a treble in the 4-1 win at Portsmouth on 28th November, two of them penalties.

His sensational scoring spree has also made him the focal figure of the England attack ahead of the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

He already has 25 international goals from his 57 caps and coach Fabio Capello will be hoping he maintains both his form and fitness ahead of the tournament.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has joined an elite club after scoring his 100th Premier League goal.

The Red Devils star chalked up the ton in style with an accomplished finish to give the champions a 1-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Although he is not one for personal glory, the former England international was still relieved to have reached the milestone, showing patience and composure to nip past Jody Craddock before drilling his shot into the far corner. Once a prolific scorer, Scholes found the net for the 98th time in league combat at Sunderland in April last year.

Really Pleased
It has taken 11 months to get the extra two, having been on 99 since his effort in the four-goal demolition of West Ham last December. His latest strike promises to be one of the most important this season for Manchester United as it gave them a narrow victory at Wolves and took them back to the top of the Barclays Premier League.

Scholes said: "It was nice. I had a similar chance against West Ham a couple of weeks ago, but thankfully this time I managed to score.
"I have been on 99 for a while now, so it is nice to get it done. I am really pleased I have managed to achieve it.
"It has put us top of the league and hopefully we can stay there."

Scholes scored the first of his 100 Premier League goals in a 2-1 home win against West Ham United in August 1995 and went on to become a prolific marksman from midfield.

Moving Level
He helped the Red Devils to nine Premier League titles as well as a host of other honours. He won 66 caps for England scoring 14 times, including a hat-trick in March 1999 as England beat Poland 3-1 at Wembley in Kevin Keegan's first match in charge.

Scholes is only the 19th player to achieve the Premier League century, moving level with team-mate Ryan Giggs who also has 100 goals to his name. United colleague Wayne Rooney also reached the ton this season.
