Ini merupakan kompetisi sepakbola junior antar klub eropa (Youth team Academy),setau saya kompetisi ini resminya musim kemarin dimana Fc Internazionale milan merupakan juara di musim 11/12 setelah mengalahkan ajax amsterdam di final dengan adu penalti (4-3),dimusim pertama kompetisi ini bergulir di ikuti oleh 16 team yakni Barcelona,Marseille,Celtic,Manchester City,Liverpool,Tottenham,Aston villa,Sporting Lisbon,Molde,Rosenborg,Wolfsburg,Ajax,PSV,Fenerbah ce,Basel,dan Fc.Internazionale milan

Dimusim keduanya ini NextGen kembali menggelar kompetisi serupa dengan penambahan Kuota Peserta menjadi 24 Team(16+ Anderlecht,CSKA,moscow,Chelsea,PSG,Juventus,Dortmu nd,Olimpiacos,Arsenal,Athletic Bilbao) yang artinya kompetisi ini sukses di tahun pertamanya...

Dan,bagaimana dengan Man Utd??kenapa tidak ikut serta di kompetisi ini??atau terlalu sibuk dengan kompetisi Lokal di segmen yang sama?? dan bukti kompetisi ini sukses salah satunya adalah seorang raheem sterling sukses menembus Tim utama LFC musim ini

The NextGen Series is a European football club cup competition for under-19 footballers. It was designed to provide players with the opportunity to match themselves against other elite European footballers of their age group in a competitive environment.

The competition was created by sports TV producer Justin Andrews and Brentford sporting director Mark Warburton.

Background

Plans to create a European competition for youth footballers have long been touted. Ajax and Manchester City played a behind closed doors match in November 2010 as did Liverpool and Celtic. This was part of a trial scheme for the new competition.

The goal of the tournament is to help clubs replicate the Champions League experience for younger players. Celtic youth coach, Chris McCart said;
“ Our purpose is to try and develop a Champions League player and it will expose them to that and replicate what that’s like at first-team level. We are confident the players will gain experience which will be vital to them in terms of the style of play and the travelling. We can also offer players the opportunity of playing against the likes of Barcelona and Man City on the big stage and in stadia. ”

Format

Teams were picked for the first season of the tournament through invitation. The organisers selected 16 clubs, influenced by the quality of each club’s academy.[4] The clubs picked for the 2011–12 competition were:[5]

Setahu aku Fergie dan tim pelatih blom merasa NextGen memberikan manfaat buat youngster United. Tim pelatih masih puas dengan kompetisi U-18 + FAYC + beberapa friendly, tur, plus beberapa turnamen lepas macam Milk Cup, Future Cup dll.

woh,jadi ini turnament modelnya macam 'SSB' yang di bisnis'in...tapi ga pake dramatisir/skenario kan :D

tapi saya yakin ,ini turnament bakal bisa jadi ajang para pemandu bakat dan bukan tidak mungkin kuota pesertanya akan bertambah,dan modelnya kompetisinya macam UCL..and peserta kompetisinya ga pake undangan,tapi melalui kualifikasi *mungkin gak ya???:D
