Watch out Lads ....

Semoga saja smalling gak blunder lagi :) will fight fight sampai akhir peluit!! Amiin

MU punya 20 pemain berkualitas,, buktinya di match td mlm vs WHU. So,,8 pemain bakalan joss di match vs Spurs. Rafael udah main 180 menit,,kynya bkl diganti sama Phil Jones. Duet CB gw lbh prefer Chris Evans. 3 pemain di blkg RvP : Welbeck,Kagawa,Rooney. Prediksi formasi :
De Gea
Jones Smalling Evans Evra
Carrick Clev
Rooney Kagawa Welbeck

Match Preview: Tottenham

http://www.soccerfanbase.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/Spurs-v-United-300x212.jpg

Form guide: United's long unbeaten Barclays Premier League run will be put to the test at Tottenham, with Spurs striving for a double over Sir Alex's side. The Reds have gone 10 league matches without losing since the reverse at Norwich and have started 2013 with three wins out of four in all competitions. Spurs are also in hot form with Andres Villas-Boas pipping the boss to*December's Manager of the Month award. The North Londoners have strung together a run of seven matches without loss but were held to a goalless draw by struggling QPR last time out.

Ins and outs: Jonny Evans should be ready to return after his hamstring wasn't risked against West Ham in midweek with Nemanja Vidic also in contention to play following his concussion. Ashley Young misses out but the winger's absence is off-set by Nani's return with Wayne Rooney and Anderson adding to the options open to the boss. Spurs are without Sandro, who underwent knee surgery this week, as well as Younes Kaboul and potentially William Gallas.*Emmanuel Adebayor is on*African Cup of Nations duty with Togo.*

Last meeting: Tottenham won at Old Trafford for the first time for 23 years back in September. A Jan Vertonghen shot eventually went down as a Jonny*Evans own goal and Gareth Bale doubled the lead with an individual strike. Clint Dempsey restored the two-goal margin seconds after Nani pulled one back and, despite a Shinji Kagawa effort, the visitors held out for a famous success.

Did you know? John O'Shea went in goal during the 4-0 victory at White Hart Lane in 2007 when Edwin van der Sar broke his nose. The Irish defender not only kept a clean sheet in the closing stages but also made a decent save to frustrate fellow countryman Robbie Keane.

Opposition boss: Andre Villas-Boas arrived in England with a big reputation after working wonders at Porto and earning a tag of the 'new Jose Mourinho'.*Clearly a shrewd tactician, he was given the brief of managing Chelsea's transition but it proved to be a difficult job with the old guard later proving they were still capable of success, culminating in the Champions League triumph in Munich. Villas-Boas had left months earlier, with Roberto Di Matteo stepping into the breach, and the young boss was snapped up by Spurs in the summer following Harry Redknapp's exit.

Star man: Gareth Bale will be a major threat after shining in the match at Old Trafford. The Welsh winger has been a key figure all season and drifts in centrally to offer even more danger to defences.*A United target in his Southampton days, he is*likely to give Rafael a*testing afternoon if the Brazilian plays. However, the South American full-back has dealt impressively with Bale in the past.*

Sub-plots: Robin van Persie will get a rough ride from the home fans due to his Arsenal*connection while Spurs have the incentive of doing a rare double and arguably sneaking into the title race themselves. Midfielder Michael Carrick will come up against his former club. The Reds have an excellent record at White Hart Lane, scene of some superb*wins over the years.

Whistle-blower: Chris Foy takes charge of proceedings in the capital. The experienced referee was also in charge for Tottenham's win at the Theatre of Dreams on 29 September and United's 3-1 beating of Sunderland before Christmas.

Rivals watch: Manchester City will expect to close the gap at the summit when they entertain Fulham on Saturday while Sunday's other big game sees Chelsea face Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Boss: Evans misses Spurs

Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled Jonny Evans out of contention for Manchester United’s clash with Tottenham in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday.

The boss confirmed the Northern Irishman is not yet match fit after sustaining a hamstring injury during the 2-2 draw with West Ham at Upton Park earlier this month, but otherwise has a full squad at his disposal ahead of a tricky trip to White Hart Lane.

Crucially, several players were handed some much-needed game time*in Wednesday night's FA Cup third round replay with the Hammers*and are now available for selection, providing a welcome boost for the Reds.

“We've got a strong squad. Jonny Evans still isn't available,” Sir Alex explained during his weekly press conference at Carrington. “He's not 100 per cent. Other than that, we're not too bad. We got a lot of players a game on Wednesday and I thought they did well. It was a good performance.”

Sir Alex Ferguson says Manchester United's*impressive recent history at White Hart Lane will count for nothing on Sunday, with the hosts under new management for this season.

The boss admires the work done so far by his opposite number at Tottenham Hotspur, Andre Villas-Boas. This time last season, the Portuguese coach was under pressure at Chelsea, where he would ultimately lose his job in early March. But he has since settled in well at Spurs, with the pick of his first 22 league results*probably being their 3-2 win*at United in September - the North London club's only victory at Old Trafford in the Premier League era.

"I think Spurs have done well this season," said Sir Alex at Friday's pre-match press conference. "I've watched quite a few of their games and their form has been consistent. They're in good form and I think they'll challenge for the top four.

"Villas-Boas has*Spurs in*the way he wants them and I think there are signs they're playing how he wants them to play. That's what a coach wants to do - get his philosophy across. I think they'll challenge for the top four."

United are unbeaten in 11 league visits to White Hart Lane, and the last defeat there came when the Reds had already romped to the title in May 2001. You have to go as far back as October 1999 therefore to find a meaningful loss but while Sir Alex is*proud*of that run, he won't rely on it come Sunday afternoon.

"We have a fantastic record there," he acknowledged. "It's a stadium that's old-fashioned, football-wise, like Aston Villa and Everton. There's always a good atmosphere and we enjoy playing there. But we can't take anything for granted. We have a hard game on Sunday. We have to perform."

Stupid performance from Rooney and Valencia. Lack of passion and desire to win the ball and keeping possession.. And also didn't do defense properly.

Gw heran padahal mereka berdua kliatan di kamera udah dikasih instruksi sebelum masuk ke lapangan.. Tp pas di lapangan ya masih ky bgitu mainnya. Pada akhirnya ya keputusan SAF jadinya salah. Dan penampilan bagus De Gea jadinya sia2.. :(

Come back stronger next week!

Jelas hasil yg mengecewakan,,gw rasa satu hal yg bikin blunder ya itu,,Clev diganti Vale...bukannya Ando. Makin sempak lama2 nih mainnya si Vale...perlu dipinggirin sebulan dulu deh kynya. Wlwpun skrg jarak tggl 5 poin,,tp bulan depan tetangga dpt lawan lbh berat,, Liverpool n Chelsea,,United cuma away lwn Fulham n QPR. Mudah2'an bisa maksimalin fixture yg ada.

fredrian.seven
21-01-2013, 07:05 AM
Kena Vale bukan Ando?
1. Fergie fanatik maen pake 2 winger.

This is football everything could happen not as we wish despite we didnt play bad..
Fair result, now lets move on

Not good for United....

Overall Tidak ad yg prlu disalahkan dri pnmpilan United kali ini, hrus diakui Tottenham jg brmain sngt luar biasa malam tdi...

kena twist and turn mulu ama tuh anak...
Lennon bener-bener exploit sisi kiri United.....

Vale ma Rooney dah terlanjur beku ma salju jadi blas nggak panas mesinnya. Evra kali ini mati kutu ma road runner. Berkali2 lewat khususnya babak I.

Praktis 15 menit trakhir Spurs menggila ~X(

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United: 6 Things We Learned

One thing that was no shock in the Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United match was that Sir Alex Ferguson surprised with his selection yet again.

Fit-again Wayne Rooney didn't make the team; Nani and Scholes didn't make the match-day squad. And for once Shinji Kagawa played in his best position. Danny Welbeck kept his berth thanks to a Man of the Match performance against Liverpool.

The big surprise was Phil Jones playing in midfield. He also is fit, and Sir Alex wants to give him as many games as possible.

Until 2:50 p.m. the match was not certain to go ahead, with snow falling in London for much of the day and tons of it needing clearing from the pitch before the referee gave the go-ahead.

The big question was how much of a factor the snow would be. Theoretically it favoured United. They had a sub-zero game on Wednesday and trained in Arctic conditions for much of the week, before travelling to London.

There was absolutely no reason for the game not to be played. Sir Alex was apparently keen, but Spurs were perhaps more reluctant. On reflection, a fixture pile-up may have been preferable to the outcome for United.

We are seeing increasing evidence that Roman Abramovich was premature in dispensing with Andre Villas-Boas. He has twice outsmarted Sir Alex this season. His team can play with real verve.

But how good are they?

Spurs Are Not Good Enough to Win a Title, Yet
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/bu7che/zudo1/hi-res-159771554_display_image_zps1b9acd11.jpg

Make no mistake: This was an effective performance by Spurs. We shall never know, however, whether Sir Alex over-estimated them.

If United had been able to hold on for one more minute, he would have been vindicated in his tactics. In the event, setting up with a holding team expected to counter-attack at pace didn't work because United's final pass just wasn't good enough.

This was uncharacteristic for United to play so deep. Maybe it was a dress rehearsal for Real Madrid on February 5. In that respect the formation worked.

But it gifted Spurs 61 percent of possession, which is the complete opposite of United's matches so far this season.

The idea was to strangle the Londoners' attempts to control midfield and limit Gareth Bale's room to play.

This is the second time this season that United have failed to beat Spurs. Both times they played too deep. One was a consequence of Paul Scholes sitting too far back. The other was by design. Neither worked.

But the truth is that Tottenham have to be taken seriously over the next few seasons. They may have two challenges to face, however.

In Adebayor's absence, they are light in the striking department once again. Defoe is on the wrong side of 30. They need another striker.

The greater threat is the likely departure of Bale this summer. The consequences will depend on how wisely Daniel Levy spends the money.

And also whether Spurs win a Champions League place.

They are certainly good enough and organised enough to do that, but not to win the EPL title any time soon. The main reason is defence.

They say attack is the best form of defence, but if United had been more clinical in the final third, they could have stolen this match.

The spectacular build-up play for Van Persie's goal showed up the vulnerability of the Spurs defence. That is a problem Villas-Boas must solve for his team to become contenders.

United Can Play a Holding Game
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/bu7che/zudo1/hi-res-159771589_display_image_zps6dc8a992.jpg

Phil Jones was excellent in central defence against West Ham on Wednesday. Today he was playing as a midfield destroyer.

Based on these two performances, there is no chance whatsoever of him ending up as the next John O'Shea.

Like the great Duncan Edwards, to whom Phil has been compared, he has a range of skills. You wouldn't pick him as a striker or creative midfield player, but he could probably play anywhere in the back six at a push.

He is still only 20. Sir Alex has made clear that United don't want or need to buy a defensive midfield, but there will be occasions when it will be appropriate for someone to play that role.

Ironically, this was not one of them. United should have set up with an attacking formation and gone for Spurs' throats. Instead, by setting up with a holding formation, they invited the opposition to attack them, and that is what they did with greater and greater success.

Real Madrid have much better attacking flair than Spurs. United will have to be far better at counter-attacking on February 5 if they want to take a result back to Old Trafford.

But for 92 minutes, the formation was very effective. Ferdinand, Vidic, Jones and Carrick were immense in the middle of the park. It's just that Evra was weak again, Cleverley had an off-day, and while Kagawa looked back to his best on the ball, he still gets knocked off it.

So United can play a holding game if needed, but on this afternoon's performance, they still wouldn't stop Barcelona.

David De Gea Is World Class But...
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/bu7che/zudo1/hi-res-159768836_display_image_zps588b36bd.jpg

Who would be a goalkeeper on a snowy freezing day facing wave after wave of attacks?

Let's be clear here. If United had held out for one more minute, De Gea would have been a hero.

Instead, he accidentally gifted Spurs a goal when his weak punch fell perfectly for Aaron Lennon to flick on to Clint Dempsey, who buried his shot in the 93rd minute.

But what went before was simply outstanding. Apart from saving one on one from Dempsey earlier, De Gea made at least six other world-class or top-class saves.

He has astonishing reflexes. Twice he saved with his legs, including that shot from Dempsey, who was sure he had scored until the leg flicked out. He also reacted in a way that almost no other keeper could to keep out a deflected bullet from Gareth Bale.

Two shots were parried by the post, and De Gea showed he is commanding his box better. It was such a dreadful pity that he couldn't quite make it all the way.

Gary Neville was ballistic afterwards about De Gea's unlucky parry at the end, but the simple truth is that the 10 or more saves beforehand kept United in the game over and over again.

Ferdinand and Vidic Are Still the Best
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/bu7che/zudo1/hi-res-131525511_display_image_zps092baec2.jpg

Jonny Evans may well be the future. He has had his best season to date.

Thanks to his continuing hamstring problem and Vidic's speedy recovery from his knock against Liverpool, the partnership with Rio Ferdinand was restored for only the second time this season.

It was outstandingly effective. Between them, they repelled countless aerial assaults but also made several interceptions and tackles on the ground.

There was never a suggestion of their being found out for pace, largely thanks to the way that Bale and Lennon were handled. On this form, there are going to be many more clean sheets on which to build United's march to the title.

Michael Carrick Can Play Defensive Midfield
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/bu7che/zudo1/hi-res-159769197_display_image_zpsd3c193dc.jpg

Sky Sports made Michael Carrick Man of the Match. Martin Tyler in commentary described his "midfield masterclass."

Left to Patrice Evra, Aaron Lennon would have destroyed United. The only way the Frenchman could stop him was to kick him and trip him until he got booked.

But time and time again, Carrick snuffed out his threat on the left edge of the penalty area or drove him inside on his weaker foot.

That was not all he did. Paired with Phil Jones, they ratcheted to the left or to the right as needed and formed a powerful combination in the centre in front of Ferdinand and Vidic.

For some reason people seem to think that defensive midfields need to make several tackles a match and kick lumps out of the opposition. As Sir Alex has made clear, you can't do that any more. As today showed more than once, you only have to touch a player and he goes down.

But what Carrick does well, apart from his passing is that he reads the game, and, like Rio Ferdinand, Sir Bobby Moore and other great defenders, it's much more about speed of mind than speed of foot.

He ran the midfield against Liverpool for 68 minutes; he calmed the whole team down when he came on as substitute on Wednesday. Today, apart from getting booked, he hardly put a foot wrong and plenty of times put one in the way.

While his teammates misplaced passes all over the field, Carrick was his usual accurate self and was never once dispossessed.

As Jamie Redknapp said in summary afterwards, he didn't deserve to be on the losing side. One after another of the Sky presenters and summarisers described Carrick's best season so far.

At this rate, if United win the title, he, along with Robin van Persie, will be a key reason.

On This Form Aaron Lennon Is a Better Winger Than Antonio Valencia
http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/bu7che/zudo1/hi-res-159768952_display_image_zpsca4f168b.jpg

Aaron Lennon has not always been consistent. He hasn't usually excelled defensively. He has only had one England cap in the last three years.

But he is now one of Spurs' key players as they drive towards a Champions League place.

While United will have expected Bale to be the biggest threat today, the focus on stopping him left plenty of scope for Lennon to thrive on the opposite wing.

Patrice Evra simply couldn't handle him, and as already mentioned, it was left to Michael Carrick to clear up time and again.

Lennon hasn't been great at defending in the past, but he recovered the ball more than once this afternoon.

In summary, he looked far more effective than Antonio Valencia, who was brought on as substitute to engineer a win for United.

Whether it's because he's carrying an injury or the aftermath of a previous one, he isn't taking on defenders the way he used to, and his crosses have become unreliable.

On this form, Lennon is the better winger. Let's hope United can tie up the transfer of Zaha, who can play on either wing and do what Lennon did very effectively today.

Tottenham 1-1 Manchester United: How Fergie Stopped Gareth Bale

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/bu7che/zudo1/hi-res-159769161_crop_exact_zps3dfc3b81.jpg

Manchester United escaped North London with a point on Sunday, but Tottenham fans will be asking how their side failed to take all three.

Tottenham's performance was largely dominant after a scrappy opening 20 minutes, and the viewing confirmed what many of us have suspected for a while—Spurs are serious contenders.

If there was one player on the pitch you'd have expected more from, it was Gareth Bale. Why? He failed to have a telling impact—if any impact—on a game in which Spurs were probably good for a few goals.

The expectations have risen for the Welshman, but Sir Alex Ferguson came up with an ingenious way to stop the wing wizard from tormenting his side

On paper, it looked like Bale was set to romp his flank, considering Rafael's suspect defensive capabilities and commitment. The Brazilian is improving every game, but he's not ready to take on someone of Bale's calibre.

Sir Alex Ferguson saw it the same way, drawing up a loose midfield diamond formation with an extra defensive focus on the right-hand side.

It looked a little something like this:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/bu7che/zudo1/SpursvUnited2_original_zps4954321c.jpg
Danny Welbeck started on the right and Tom Cleverley on the left, but after around 25 minutes, both players switched sides. That said, the free-flowing movement among the United ranks made it difficult to pin down the genuine position of any players other than Michael Carrick.
The area highlighted is what we're focusing on here—the use of three players in the nullification of Bale.

Rafael stayed nice and tight to the Welshman all game long and actually sacrificed some of his attacking intent to keep him in check. Without the guarantee of the Brazilian being goal-side all game long, however, Fergie deployed Phil Jones as a defensive-minded midfield shuttler.

He ventured forward on occasion, but stayed largely proximate to Carrick in his duties to make sure United had a man goal-side of Bale at all times.

When he did receive the ball on the left flank, he was boxed in.

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w257/bu7che/zudo1/Baleblockedin_original_zpsb904d941.jpg

Kyle Naughton saw this and looked for an opportunity to slot Bale in over the top of Rafael, but Rio Ferdinand spent the majority of the first half sliding across to the right touchline, instantly nullifying the threat of Naughton's intent. The ball wasn't on.
For the most part, Ferdinand stopped Bale breaking down the flank just by taking a few steps to the right—he didn't even have to be near the ball. Excellent defending.

After 25 minutes, Bale got fed up and roamed inward.

It has to be said, he wasn't largely effective in-field, either. Tottenham fans booed the use of their star winger centrally, and once he'd escaped the clutches of Ferdinand, Jones and Rafael, he ran into Carrick instead.

The only way Andre Villas-Boas was able to get Bale into the game was by upping the tempo significantly. Much like United sliced through Spurs for their opener thanks to the brilliance of Shinji Kagawa, Bale got one opportunity when he was on the ball after just two or three quick touches.

Unfortunately, with United dropping deeper and deeper, space to play was at a premium, and Aaron Lennon fared much better with a one vs. one battle with Patrice Evra on the opposite flank.

Tottenham vs. Manchester United: Score, Grades and Post-Match Reaction

On a snowy evening in North London, Manchester United and Tottenham played an absolutely cracking match, finishing the game with a 1-1 draw that was exciting throughout.

United looked sure to win this one, holding a 1-0 lead for much of the match. But with a minute left in stoppage time, Clint Dempsey—who played poorly throughout, honestly—would score the game-tying goal after Aaron Lennon would survive chaos in front of the net and send a pass across the face of the goal to Dempsey.

Robin van Persie opened the scoring—of course he did—with a lovely header into the left of the net, as Tom Cleverley found the red-hot striker with a brilliant cross. That's now 11 goals in Van Persie's last 11 games, a goal-scoring streak that everyone outside of Lionel Messi would be thrilled to own.

At that juncture, it seemed as though United had withstood the early Tottenham pressure and were wrestling away control of the game. But Spurs kept pressing, and David de Gea made an excellent kick-save on a Gareth Bale ripper that deflected off Phil Jones at the last moment and nearly flew into the net.

United took a 1-0 lead into the half.

Tottenham had a brilliant scoring chance early in the second half, as Mousa Dembele played a magnificent pass in to Clint Dempsey, who had split the defense and found himself in front of goal. But once again, De Gea was up to the challenge, making another nice kick-save and sending Dempsey's attempt careening out of play for a corner, which United would handle.

Thus began a second half of laments for Dempsey, at least until his late goal, as the United States star had a dismal showing on several attempts in the second half and looked out of sorts on the attack (though, to his credit, he did put himself in promising positions).

The Spurs attacks would keep on coming. Jermain Defoe would find himself with a very nice chance, as Aaron Lennon would play a perfect ball to a streaking Defoe to the left of the net. But the wily Rio Ferdinand would spoil any thoughts of a Spurs equalizer, as his sliding tackle would deflect Defoe's shot out of play.

For much of the second half, the Red Devils defense blocked shots and generally frustrated the Tottenham attackers. But Spurs kept pressing forward and were rewarded in the 92nd minute with Dempsey's game-tying strike.

United now stand five points clear of Manchester City atop the Premier League table, while Spurs sit in fourth place.

Grades

Gareth Bale, Tottenham: C+

Bale was largely invisible in the first half, save a blistering shot that nearly made its way into the goal off a deflection. While he would be more of a factor in the second half, his main contribution was two shots that didn't quite reach the net.

Not quite enough of a showing from Spurs' biggest star.

Robin van Persie, Manchester United: B

All this man does is score goals. Still, Van Persie wasn't a huge threat outside of the goal he scored, and that goal was as much about Cleverley's well-placed cross as it was about Van Persie's clinical header.
At this point, we grade Van Persie against himself. He got the goal, so we can't kill him, but there were better players for United on this day.

Clint Dempsey, Tottenham: B

On one hand, Dempsey regularly put himself in good positions and did score the game-tying goal.

On the other hand, he regularly lacked the cutting edge in the final third for the majority of this game.

He had a brilliant opportunity to score in front of goal but couldn't sneak it past De Gea.

He weakly attempted a shot from outside of the box after the ball fell to him, then immediately botched another pass after stealing the ball back for Tottenham.

He had a nice attempt from the left side of the box but sent a shot screaming into the side netting.

But Dempsey never hung his head, never quit putting himself in good positions, and he found a way to score a vital goal for Spurs. Certainly not his finest performance, but in the end, Dempsey made sure he atoned for his earlier disappointments.

David de Gea and the Manchester United Defense: A-

I was about to give United's keeper and its defensive unit an A-plus for this game before Dempsey tied things up. But don't get it twisted—despite the Red Devils attack gaining most of the praise this season, it was the defense that deserves the most praise for United on this day.

De Gea made several brilliant saves. The United defense continuously blocked shots and withstood a barrage of Tottenham attacks, namely in the second half. While the game was justifiably a draw, the United defense and keeper nearly stole three points. In the end, they were a minute short of doing just that.

Aaron Lennon, Tottenham: A

Easily Spurs' most threatening forward—and I would argue the man of the match—Lennon's speed and deft touch caused Patrice Evra headaches all afternoon.
What didn't he do on this afternoon? His pace down the right side stretched United all day long. He cut in, he took shots, he played brilliant passes through the middle, he sent regular crosses into the box and, for good measure, he even crossed up Wayne Rooney and forced a yellow card.

He was, in a word, magnificent.
