Birthdate: 01 Dec 1995
Birthplace: Biddulph
Position: Striker
Joined United: 01 Jul 2012
United Debut: 6 May 2014
International: England U19

Age: 18
Born: Staffordshire

Debut days: Wilson loves a debut. The striker scored on his United academy debut aged 15 and also found the back of the net during his debut for the England under-19s in 2013.

Interesting fact: Wilson signed professionally for United on his 17th birthday on 2012.

Feeling old, Ryan? Ryan Giggs had won two league titles, one FA Cup and one League Cup before James Wilson was even born.

Road to Rio: Some bookmakers have now put a price of 50/1 on for Wilson to be named in Roy Hodgson's 2014 World Cup squad

An exciting talent who scored on his Under-18 debut as a 15-year-old when hitting the net against Everton.

Often played ahead of his age group, he was called up to England Schoolboys when still performing at Under-15 level, the silky striker was scouted by United when only seven years old.

Although he can play out wide on the left, he is at his most effective down the middle and is filling out to be able to thrive in that demanding role.

After recovering from a broken ankle that cruelly halted his progress, he was back in time to score a dramatic injury-time winner against Charlton Athletic in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final - surely the stuff of dreams to do so at Old Trafford at the tender age of 16.

Even though he made 10 starts (and five substitute appearances), only three players scored more than the six strikes he managed for the Under-18s and some of his finishes were top class, displaying composure and a real poacher's eye.

Remarkably, he was handed an early taste of Reserves football when coming off the bench in the fixture at West Bromwich Albion and, providing he stays injury-free and continues developing at youth level, there should be plenty to look forward to for the Biddulph-born forward in terms of more opportunities at that level.

Wilson signed professional forms on his 17th birthday towards the end of 2012 but had to deal with injury issues throughout the campaign. Nevertheless, he was still top scorer and a final tally of 14 goals in 13 starts (five further appearances off the bench) demands attention.

Five of those strikes came in one memorable win at Newcastle, four inside the first half and they were his first efforts of the league programme. After scouring the record books, only Deiniol Graham's double hat-trick in an 8-2 thumping of Marine Reserves in early 1990 outscores Wilson throughout Sir Alex Ferguson's entire tenure at Old Trafford.

Wilson nudged his way into contention at Under-21 level and could find himself involved for both age-groups in 2013/2014 if he continues to impress. He netted in the Reserves' Manchester Senior Cup game at Bury and captained the Under-18s while scoring and making goals with remarkable consistency.

By becoming a regular for England Under-19s, it seems obvious that his talents are being appreciated further afield and he took to the UEFA Youth League like a duck to water, keeping up his fine scoring run.

James Wilson was delighted with his hat-trick in the Under-21s' 3-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday as he aims to keep improving.

The prolific striker was forced to pull out of the England Under-19 squad last week through illness but looked in great shape when smashing three second-half goals past Jonathan Flatt at Molineux.

The treble was the first by a United player this season at the three main levels (first team, Reserves/Under-21s and Under-18s) and takes his tally to four in four starts for Warren Joyce's team.

"It was well played by the players with good work rate," he told MUTV. "We work hard every day in training and just need the performances to get goals and win games.

"The first and second goals were kind of the same. For the first one I saw the defender coming towards me and pushed it away from him, it was a snap shot really for the second and the last one I was standing still in the box and it fell to me nicely so I put it away.

"I work on my shooting quite a lot, to be fair. I train a lot after training and put in extra, even before it as well I do extra finishing."

The chance to parade his talents at Molineux pleased the teenager, who has ambitions to catch David Moyes' eye.

"It was great," he added. "As soon as you walk in here, it's a massive ground with a great history so it's good to play here. It's good experience to play at these big stadiums.

"I just want to get as many minutes on the pitch as possible and keep my confidence up, hopefully pushing up to the first-team squad. I need to hope for the best.

"I can definitely relate a lot to Adnan [Januzaj] and the stage he was at last year. I hope I can kick on."

Wilson's next outing is likely to be in the Lancashire Senior Cup quarter-final against Bolton Wanderers next Monday. The tie is being screened exclusively live on MUTV.

Wilson tipped for the top

http://www.manutd.com/sitecore/shell/~/media/D5BB69ADCD0E4700ABA30D5B8F5C50FD.ashx?w=480&h=270&rgn=0,155,2584,1612

Clayton Blackmore believes James Wilson is capable of breaking into the Manchester United first team on a regular basis in the future.

The 18-year-old has become the spearhead of Warren Joyce's Under-21 side and earned a first place on the bench for Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash at Newcastle.

After working closely with the striker a few years ago, Blackmore is in no doubt about the youngster's obvious potential: "I think 'Willo' is top level," Clayton told MUTV. "I coached him with the Under-15s and he was frightening. In every session, he scored top-drawer goals.

"For me, it is only a matter of time before he breaks into the first team. He is very direct when he gets on the ball and with what he does around about the box with his shooting. At 15, he was the best I have seen at finishing.

"I've watched a lot of games and it's sometimes hard to get him in on goal because he is often playing up front on his own and is marked by two centre-backs. So it can be difficult for him to get on the ball but he's good at running at people and getting shots off.

"He is so good with both feet that I don't know if he is left or right-footed. Honestly, he is a special talent and hopefully, one day soon, he is going to get a chance in the first team."

Warren Joyce has set striker James Wilson the target of scoring in all four remaining Barclays Under-21 Premier League games.

The teenager, who was named on the bench for the first team's win at Newcastle on Saturday, was sorely missed in the U21s' goalless draw with Chelsea and 1-0 defeat away to the Magpies which have hampered the Reds' prospects of reaching the semi-finals of the competition.

Victory is surely required against Aston Villa on Monday night to keep the youngsters in the mix and the players will be eagerly anticipating another run-out at Old Trafford. Wilson, who had been sidelined with illness, is likely to return which could enable Andreas Pereira to revert to a deeper role.

"James is still growing and his body is still developing," explained Joyce to ManUtd.com. "His fitness levels have improved greatly this season from last year but he is still a developing boy.

"He's got a lot of potential and has that knack of scoring goals but he needs to keep working hard. I have got to say that he is a grounded kid but he must work harder now he's had a little bit of success. He needs a run of games and to be scoring every game between now and the end of the season. That has got to be his aim.

"It's been a little unfair on Andreas, playing him up front, but it's not doing any harm in a short period. He is more of a midfield no.8 or no.10 than an out-and-out forward but it didn't do Adnan Januzaj any harm last year and I think he has done well with the things we have asked him to do."

There is free entry for all supporters for the U21s game at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Come in No 47... United starlet Wilson is named on bench against Newcastle

Manchester United youngster James Wilson earned himself a place on the substitutes bench as the Reds faced a striker shortage for their match against Newcastle.

With both Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie sidelined Wilson was brought in as a precaution, had David Moyes been looking to protect Danny Welbeck with United facing a vital match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, and wore training gear with the No 47.

The 18-year-old has pushed himself into the Under-21 side since December and scored an impressive hat-trick against Wolves on his last outing at the beginning of March.

Wilson, who scored on his academy debut against Everton when he was 15, netted five times against the Newcastle Under-18s in a 7-1 victory last season.

Having also become a regular for the England-U19 side, scored his first goal for the national side in a 6-1 victory over Estland U-19s.

Born in Staffordshire the striker is known for his blistering pace and acceleration which leaves many of his opponents trailing and was handed the captain's armband for the academy side this year.

Star on the rise: Wilson (M) trains with Nani (L) and Ashley Young (R) ahead of United's match against Newcastle

As a versatile player Wilson can play out wide on the left but is most potent playing down the middle. Despite suffering a broken ankle last year, which ruled him out for a large portion of the season, the striker still finished with 14 goals from just 13 starts.

He's shown a great deal of composure in front goal whilst playing for the Under-18's, as well as an impressive eye for goal, which has earnt him high praise from a number of sources inside United.

One such source, former Manchester United player Clayton Blackmore, believes the striker has what it takes to follow in the footsteps of Danny Welbeck.

Moyes watches on as Man United starlet Wilson scores another stunner and Evans returns to action

Manchester United striker James Wilson added to his burgeoning reputation by scoring a 25-yard stunner in front of manager David Moyes on Monday night.

And there was a further boost for Moyes as defender Jonny Evans made his first appearance since suffering a calf strain on February 1 and came through 65 minutes unscathed at Old Trafford.

Watching brief: Manager David Moyes was at Old Trafford to watch the U21 match

Wilson, who had earned a first call up to the first-team squad for Saturday's Premier League clash at Newcastle, opened the scoring in the Reds' Under 21 clash against Aston Villa.

The 18-year-old picked up the ball on the right edge of the box and drove inside before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner in the 27th minute at OId Trafford.

Joe Rothwell and Saidy Janko were also on the scoresheet as United ran out 3-0 winners.

Cracker: James Wilson (centre) scores a stunner for United's U21 team against Aston Villa

Academy graduate Wilson had forced his way into Moyes' plans with his goal-scoring expoits for the U18 and U21 teams.

Former United defender Clayton Blackmore, who graduated into the first-team three decades ago, has tipped Wilson for the top.

'James is top level,' he told the club's official website. 'I coached him with the under-15s and he was frightening. In every session, he scored top-drawer goals. For me, it is only a matter of time before he breaks into the first team.

'He is very direct when he gets on the ball and with what he does around about the box with his shooting. At 15, he was the best I have seen at finishing. Boss considers Wilson bow

David Moyes has hinted he may hand James Wilson a senior debut before the end of the season after circumstances dictated that he was unable to make his bow at Newcastle United.

The 18-year-old striker was on the bench at St James' Park but Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini were injured and that affected the manager's tactical plans. After returning to Under-21 duty but being withdrawn due to an injury himself on Thursday night against Norwich City, Wilson will hope for another chance to link up with the first team in the remaining games.

"If the opportunity had been right at Newcastle, I'd have tried to get him some minutes on the pitch," revealed Moyes to MUTV. "As it was, we lost a couple of people in the game to injury so we had to make substitutions and we couldn't get to a position to give him some minutes. He's done well in the Reserves and earned an opportunity.

"I think he's got a good chance, the boy, and we want to keep him right but keep moving him up and progressing him when we think the opportunities are there.

"If the opportunity comes [before the end of the season], we'll do so but we have a lot of people looking for a game."

Wilson intends to kick on

James Wilson aims to take his Manchester United career to the next level following his two-goal debut at a packed Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old’s pair of strikes went a long way to helping the Reds to a 3-1 win over Hull City, but it was a far cry from his last outing at the stadium, an Under-21 game against Norwich last month.

Wilson showed no nerves in front of a packed Theatre of Dreams, putting United two ahead with a pair of clinical finishes, each following up on set-up work from Marouane Fellaini.

“It was a great feeling, you can’t compare it to anything else,” Wilson told MUTV. ”The first goal was just sheer euphoria and then the second was just a great experience. The ground is a lot different without 75,000 people, but just to play here even in front of a small crowd for the Under-21s is still a great experience to play on such a ground. With all the fans here tonight it was even better.”

Wilson came close to an appearance a month ago, having been on the bench for the win over Newcastle, but having now made his bow, is convinced he can cope with the demands of top-flight football after representing the Under-18s, Under-19s and Under-21s this term.

“I feel like I can deal with the physicality and pace of the game. I just need to try to get as many games as possible under my belt for the experience. If you’re getting on in the club, you have to be progressing so obviously scoring for every age group is a good sign. I’ve got where I am now but I have to kick on.” *

ManUtd.com - Adam Marshal
Blog: James the first

At St. James’ Park recently, there was a ripple of excitement before a ball had even been kicked.*

James Wilson had been part of the larger matchday squad for the Aston Villa fixture but, with Wayne Rooney joining Robin van Persie on the sidelines, it was logical to assume he had a real chance of being on the bench at Newcastle.*

When Danny Welbeck was still dressed in his club suit some half-an-hour after Wilson had made his entrance to the home of the Magpies with the rest of the players, it appeared inevitable the teenager would receive a taste of senior football, becoming the first youngster to make a debut appearance in the 18-man squad since David Moyes took charge. After this fact was confirmed by media manager Karen Shotbolt handing me the teamsheet, the response on Twitter was telling. There was a buzz around Wilson’s selection that only occurs when a homegrown youngster makes his breakthrough.*

For all the global appeal of the Barclays Premier League, and the ability of the clubs to invest millions of pounds in ready-made first-teamers from all over the world, there is something that resonates with all supporters in a youthful prodigy taking those first tentative steps to stardom. There is a sense of satisfaction that a player nurtured since a schoolboy has overcome the giant hurdle of making the first-team squad, gaining a shirt number and seeing his name printed on the back of the official programme.*

I watched Wilson from close quarters as he warmed up beforehand. Club captain Nemanja Vidic, another of the substitutes, appeared keen to help make him feel at home as they practised short, sharp passes. As things transpired, it was the only time he got onto the pitch, with injuries helping to prevent Moyes from giving the 18-year-old rookie his debut despite a convincing lead.*

As Reserves coach Warren Joyce stressed to me, the hard work starts here for Wilson. After being set a target of scoring in each of the remaining Under-21 games, the Biddulph-born striker drilled a glorious goal against Villa that generated awe around Old Trafford and, arguably, gets better with every viewing, courtesy of MUTV’s replays. It took me a few seconds to realise I had broken into spontaneous applause in the press box. So much for any impartiality!*

Yet this is the reaction and respect youngsters like Wilson engender in me. I was at the same venue for my first sight of him in action, when he came on as a substitute to score the winner against Charlton Athletic in the FA Youth Cup as a 15-year-old. I remembered watching from the sidelines against Wolves Under-18s at the Aon Training Complex at the start of this season when a single touch on the halfway line, as ridiculous as that sounds, cemented my belief that he was a special talent.*

Later at Newcastle last Saturday, Adnan Januzaj, another prospect still in his teens, spun away from his marker with effortless ease and a grace that made those in close proximity by the touchline gasp. It reminded me of a moment in the first Under-21 game of the season, against Liverpool at the AJ Bell Stadium, and how I wanted Adnan to keep receiving the ball so he could showcase his skills.*

And it really sank in. I’m as excited now as I have ever been by these youngsters and the potential they possess. From Mark Hughes and Norman Whiteside to the Class of '92, and Ryan Giggs in particular, I have seen these youth-team products make their mark on United and, consequently, my life. Nothing matches the sense of added pride in seeing one of the Reds’ own mix it with the very best. Every Giggs goal has always generated an instant afterglow that is difficult to describe and a little embarrassing to admit.*

Whether Wilson fulfills his potential is impossible to predict. The same can still be said of Januzaj, even though he has made huge progress this term. However, these and their fellow youngsters in Joyce and Paul McGuinness’ squads are the ones who fill me with such hope and expectation for the future. Despite the intense pressure and high stakes, I crave that the door remains open for the very best to filter through.*

While many fans salivate at the talk of a major spending spree in the summer and the never-ending roll call of players being linked with a move to United, nothing stirs my emotions more than those already at the club. Individuals who are steeped in the tradition of Manchester United, who have grown up loving the Reds and respecting our history. Judging by the response to Wilson’s first inclusion, I feel relieved to know I am not alone.

Wilson eyes aerial improvement

http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Manchester+United+v+Hull+City+1QWrGKka3CMl.jpg

James Wilson is hoping to score more headed goals next season after being praised by coach Nicky Butt for his aerial prowess.

Butt, who was in charge of the UEFA Youth League side captained by the striker last term, was filmed by ITV's Life of Ryan documentary discussing the teenager's merits ahead of his dream two-goal debut against Hull City in May.

"Wilson is unbelievable in the six-yard box," commented Butt. "He's got the best standing spring you've ever seen in your life."

The leading Under-21s scorer noticeably put his aerial ability to good use in a defensive capacity as the campaign wore on but only one of his impressive haul of 24 goals was a header - which came in a 2-1 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk's Under-19s in Ukraine.

"I was first put in there in pre-season at the near post," he explained to ManUtd.com, when discussing defending set-pieces. "Like Robin van Persie does for the first team.

"I shied away from a couple in the friendlies and they criticised me for that. Obviously, the coaches continued to put me there and I’ve worked on it a bit and have found myself clearing a lot more balls.

"In terms of the other end, I can only remember one headed goal all season, at Shakhtar Donetsk. I’ve got an alright leap and I can flick on goal-kicks and do well defensively. Attacking-wise, it seems to have not been falling for me but I don’t know why I haven't scored many headers. Hopefully, that will change."

Warren Joyce has warned James Wilson he still needs to improve after the striker scored all four goals for the Reserves in the Manchester Senior Cup final win against City.

Joyce is determined to keep the 18-year-old's feet on the ground following his two-goal debut for the first team against Hull City during Ryan Giggs' time in interim charge last season.

"He's got a lot of things he has still got to work on," explained Joyce to MUTV. "There are things, technically and tactically, he's naive on. He is still a young boy with a lot of natural talent.

"There are a lot of things he can still improve on but he wants to do that and he can do it this year."

The Reserves coach was delighted to retain the trophy after a splendid second-half performance at Ewen Fields.

"It's a good trophy for us and we enjoy the competition," he stated. "Whilst development is the key thing with young players, its knowing at clubs like Manchester United that you have got to win things as well. We've had a really good record for the last five or six years.

"There was a really good article in the Daily Mail yesterday talking about what City want to achieve in the next 10 years. Obviously, they're making great strides but these are the all things we have actually done for the last five or six years and we want to continue doing that."

Apa kabar bang Legend? Long time no see your post. :D

Soal Wilson kayanya kalau dia bagus menurut LvG pasti akan dipasang, lihat Lens, Clasie & Depay di Pildun kemarin. Bahkan RvP diganti, jadi saya rasa pemain yang diperlakukan khusus oleh LvG kecil kemungkinannya termasuk RvP. Masih optimis James Wilson bakal naik kelas musim ini. :D

Andy Cole tips James Wilson for the top

Manchester United legend Andy Cole expects teenage striker James Wilson to have a big future at the club.

The 18-year-old, who scored*twice on his senior debut against Hull City last May, came off the bench at MK Dons in the Capital One Cup to make his second Reds appearance.

Wilson was twice denied by superb saves from David Martin as he attempted to add to the four goals he netted in the Manchester Senior Cup final in his only other competitive outing this month.

"I've got MUTV at home and it gives me the opportunity to watch the young players at Old Trafford and see how they're progressing," Cole told ManUtd.com. "Wilson is definitely one for the future.

"He scores goals and when you're doing that as a centre-forward at this football club, you always have half a chance.

"He knows how to hit the back of the net. He finishes well and he's got a good left foot. He's very direct as well - he likes to pick it up and run at people. He'll have a big future."

The former United marksman believes Wilson is ready for first-team football but may have to leave Old Trafford in the short term in order to achieve this objective.

"It is a big step [up to United's senior side]," declared Cole during the Apollo 'Go the Distance' pitch launch. "At some stage, he will be given another chance. If it's not in the first team, he will go out on loan somewhere. When you have talent like that, you have got to give them the opportunity in some shape or form.

"If he doesn't end up in the first team here soon, as we've got some good quality strikers, I do believe he'll go on loan and, when he goes on loan, he'll do very well."

Wilson explains shirt number change

James Wilson has revealed why he moved shirt numbers ahead of the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League season.
The Manchester United striker, who came off the bench to help the Reds earn a 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday, switched from 47 to 49 in the summer after scoring twice in the previous shirt on his debut against Hull City in the final home fixture of last term.
"I asked why it had changed as it wasn't my decision and, because I'm a striker, the gaffer wanted me to have a nine in my number," the teenager told ManUtd.com. "So he has moved me up to 49. I could have been 99 in theory, but 49 was the closest one."
Louis van Gaal clearly feels the centre-forward will benefit from the psychological effect and continues to involve him in his first-team plans as he also entered the fray as a substitute in the win over Everton earlier in the month.

Wilson's five favourite strikers

Manchester United striker James Wilson*talks to ManUtd.com about*the five forwards who inspired him when he was growing up...

Wayne Rooney -*"He broke through at Everton when he was 16 or 17 which was a similar age to me [when I made my debut]. Then he got regular first-team football from then on, so that’s an inspiration for me. He’s got [he can score] free-kicks, penalties, outside the box, headers. He’s got everything."

Michael Owen -*"He was very quick in his time and I have that sort of attribute as I’m very pacey. He was a good goalscorer, always in the box."*

Ruud van Nistelrooy -*"He was a bit like Owen because he was always in the area. I don’t think he scored many from outside*it but he was always in there for crosses and cut-backs. It was good to watch him score so many goals for the team I supported."

Thierry Henry -*"He was at Arsenal for so long and then he went to America and made a career out there. He can play in any team, he’s such a prolific goalscorer and it was great to watch him score so many goals, even if some of them were against United."*

Cristiano Ronaldo -*"Obviously he’s a winger but Ronaldo is my next one because he scored so many goals for United when I was growing up. I was getting closer and closer to playing in the same team as him but I wasn’t quite quick enough to get there!"

James Wilson: I want to kick on

Manchester United youngster James Wilson recently sat down with ManUtd.com to provide an insight into his season so far, discussing his relationship with his fellow strikers and ambitions for this term...

There are some big games coming up for the first team. How much are you hoping to be involved in them?
They are massive games in terms of the season and with even with the rivalries as well. Obviously it would be great to get on the pitch for a few minutes. Any minutes on the pitch really, whether it’s for the first team or the Under-21s is great for me to get my fitness back.

You had 17 minutes on the pitch for the recent home game against Everton. How was that experience for you?
It was great being on the pitch being with the players and getting involved. It was brilliant, getting on, it was great.

What was it like coming on as sub for Radamel Falcao, a world-renowned striker and already a fans’ favourite?
Yes, he came up to me and did the clap of the hands as he came off, and said ‘Good luck.’ It’s great to come on for such a striker like that, a player in the world of football so it was a great experience.

How does it feel to know you’re in the same group as Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Falcao?
It’s great to be in contention with such names in the world of football as theirs. Obviously with the competition in training and even in the games as well, if I can just get a few minutes here and there, then hopefully I can get my chance further down the line.

It seems that Danny Welbeck leaving the club and Chicharito going out on loan to Real Madrid has given you an opportunity to play more often. How determined are you to seize that opportunity?
It’s an important time for me. Obviously with those two going – Chicha on loan and Danny getting a move to Arsenal – it’s given me a great opportunity. It’s going to be really important for me to get the minutes on the pitch.

How important to your development is playing for the U21s?
It’s very, very important because if I’m not getting the minutes on the pitch for the first team, then I’ll be happy to play for the Under-21s and get my match fitness in. You can simulate a game in training but it’s never going to be the same as a 90-minute game. So it will be good to get minutes on the pitch for the Under-21s as well.

How would you assess your season so far at that level? It started with a bang, by winning the Manchester Senior Cup…
Yes it was good, and against City as well – it’s a great rivalry between us. To get four goals in the final or any game… it’s even better to get it against the main rivals from the blue side of Manchester. It’s been good.

Tell us about the rivalry with City at U21 level. Are there any opposing players you’ve got to know through the age groups?
Not so much at City. But when you mention a team from younger years, you know which sort of players you’re going to be up against. But I don’t really think about that. A few of the lads will say, ‘Oh, can you remember that player from last year?’ And I’ll say, ‘Not really, no.’ I just focus on my own game but you do recognise players from throughout the years and if they’re still there, they’re obviously developing. So it is good to see players move up with you as well because if you’re moving up through the age groups, they’re going to be moving up as well. It’s great to see that.

After that game against City, you had to wait a while to make your next start for the U21s. Was that due to an injury?
Yes, I had an ankle injury between those times. I was training the week after the City game when I picked up the ankle injury that kept me out for a few weeks. I’ve since been getting back progressively, not going in full on. I’ve been building myself up and then getting the start against Tottenham was good. I only played 45 minutes in that game and then I played 60 against Accrington Stanley in the Lancashire Senior Cup. Obviously getting my minutes is vital.

How is the ankle now?
It’s brilliant, it’s fine, there’s no injury now. It’s good.

In the Accrington game, you set up the first goal for Will Keane who went on to score a hat-trick. How pleased are you to see him back in the team and scoring goals after his injury trouble?
Yes, he had a cruciate ligament injury, so it’s great to see such a player coming back from that. He’s in contention for my spot but it’s healthy competition. To see him coming back from an injury like that is brilliant to see.

How are the two of you together – are you friends or rivals?
We speak, we’re friends obviously! We’re not bitter about each other’s stuff, it’s good.

Perhaps you can keep taking it in turns to score hat-tricks?
Ha! Well I had mine against City and he had his own recently, against Accrington Stanley. It's good to have that competition and hopefully we can keep scoring.

And in between, Adnan Januzaj scored one as well. There must be something in the Under-21s’ water this season...
Adnan hadn’t been playing in the first team so he was moved down just like I was. Everyone’ s doing well really.

What would you say are the main benefits of playing for the U21s?
Fitness is vital to any game of football. Whether you’re playing for the U18s, U21s or first team, you’re going to get that base of fitness, so that’s the most important thing really. Then, if you can express yourself, you can move up, from U18s to U21s, and from U21s to the first team. It’s good.

We mentioned Will Keane, who had a long time out with injury. What are you like when you are injured – do you get frustrated or are you a good patient who listens to everything the physios says?
I like to think I’m a good patient. But I’m not a very patient patient so I do get a little bit frustrated because I want to be out on the pitch with the lads. I just do what I have to do and they [the physios] know best. They give you the best chance of coming back fully fit so I just do what they say.

But is it hard when you miss out on things, like a trip to Hungary with England’s Under-19s in May?
That was just after the season finished and, yes, I did pick up a groin injury but it was nice just to have the rest because it was a very busy season. Obviously, with injuries, it was an on-and-off season so it was good to get the break. But yes, it was very frustrating not to represent my country.

Was injury also the reason why you missed the first-team tour?
Yes, I dislocated my finger in training a few weeks before. I wasn’t back into full-contact football for a few weeks after that so that ruled me out of the tour, which was even more frustrating than missing the England trip. It’s just how it goes. Everything happens for a reason I suppose.

Hopefully you can have better luck with injuries and kick on from here… do you have any targets for the rest of this season?
Just to play for the first team as much as I can. To get any minutes for any team is vital for my fitness personally. It’ll be good to get as many as I can.

Is it important for you to get back involved with the England youth team as well?
Yes, there was a trip in the last international break to Holland. But I hadn’t played enough [for United] to end up going.*

But when you do get your next chance to wear the Three Lions, is it something you’ll take great pride in doing?
Yes, when you play for your country, you’re representing your country. So it’s a very proud moment when you get called up for that.

Training Talk: James Wilson

ManUtd.com recently sat down with promising striker James Wilson to learn more about training at Manchester United and his experiences this season...

Going to work every day and training with Falcao, Rooney and van Persie sounds like a dream for every United fan – how do you find it?
Going into training with them is obviously a great experience but on the other hand, it’s a big competition if I’m going to be breaking through into the first team. It’s tough because they’re all renowned for scoring goals at such a high level.*

How long have you been training with the first team?
It’s been a few months. I was brought in after the Manchester City game in March, but I was injured then for a few weeks after that.

How much do you enjoy the training?
It’s great to play with the players. The intensity is at a higher level but you get plenty of rest in between so you can keep repeating the sessions over and over. It’s good. You have to think a lot more quickly than normally but in the end you get to that level and the thinking just comes naturally.

Is that the main difference you notice when you step up then – a difference in the mental intensity rather than the physical?
I would say so yes because there’s always someone coming at you or doing something so you always have to be aware of your surroundings, maybe a bit more than you have to in the reserves or the Under-18s. You certainly have to have your wits about you if you’re going to train with them on a regular basis.

Do you personally have training sessions where everything goes right, and sessions where you can’t seem to do anything right?
Yes, I’d like to think more things go right than go wrong in training sessions! But yes, I’ve had days when nothing’s gone for me in training. And it even happens in games as well when there’s a lucky deflection which takes it away from goal. Other than that, it’s just a matter of concentration really to make it happen for yourself.

Do you see things in training that impress you, like a great piece of skill or a great goal?
Mostly it’s goals because that relates to me. Skills are a big part of the game as well but really it’s about goals and if I see a good one in training, I’ll think ‘Wow!’

Who is most likely to score a picture-book goal in training?
It would probably be Wayne, with a volley or something. The ball will drop out to him and he’ll just go for it when nobody else would think to do it and it’ll fly into the top corner.

Wayne, Robin and Radamel are all quite different, so would you learn different things from each of them?
Yes, I would say so. Wayne is the captain so he’s very verbal and you can go to him for advice. You can learn things from Robin and Radamel that you probably could also learn from Wayne but it’s mostly within a game. So if you do something that isn’t particularly correct in a game, they’ll tell you what you could have done instead and next time you can learn from your mistakes.

Can you learn things from them just by watching them, like their movement?
Yes, the movement is very important in the game as a striker because you have to get away from the defender. You can watch them in the games and in training every day so you can just learn from them and then do what they do when you find yourself in the same situation.

What would you say is a particular strength of Robin’s game?
His movement is definitely one of them and the way he can change direction quickly. He can go towards the ball and then run in behind quite sharply so he can get away from the defender. Then he’s got the natural instinct to finish anyway.

What are Wayne’s best attributes?
He can score from anywhere, outside the box or inside the box. He can score with free-kicks, penalties, volleys, headers… all sorts.

And what has the new boy Radamel brought to the club?
Mostly I would say that from crosses he’s always in the right position. For his first goal for the club, against Everton, Di Maria’s had the shot and he’s there straightaway, expecting the ball to come across to him. I also saw him playing for Atletico Madrid as well and some of the goals he scored there were fantastic. He can score any type of goal as well.

McNair: Wilson Akan Segera Cetak Hattrick di Old Trafford

"Hanya masalah waktu sebelum dia mencetak hattrick pertama di Old Trafford. James bekerja sangat keras di sesi latihan, mengawalnya adalah sebuah tantangan tersendiri."

Musim ini Wilson telah tampil dalam enam laga Premier League dengan total 164 menit bermain, namun belum berhasil mencetak gol. Musim lalu, ia mencuiri perhatian saat mencetak brace saat menjalani debut di tim utama dalam laga kontra Hull City.(ur/mri)

Saran untuk James Wilson: Tiru Saja Van Persie
Rossi Finza Noor - detikSport

http://images.detik.com/content/2014/12/17/72/wilsonisi.jpg

Wilson assesses his growth at United

James Wilson (http://www.manutd.com/en/Players-And-Staff/First-Team/James-Wilson.aspx) believes his first full season in Manchester United's first-team squad is enhancing his development, both as a person and a professional footballer.
The 19-year-old forward admits to being a "quiet person" in this Saturday’s edition of United Review (http://www.manutd.com/programme), though he exudes a confidence and self-belief that has undoubtedly fuelled his ascent through the youth ranks, helping him to become one of the most exciting prospects in the Barclays Premier League.
After making his senior debut in May under the interim management of Ryan Giggs, Wilson has since earned the trust of Louis van Gaal, who isn’t exactly shy when it comes to blooding young talent. The Biddulph-born striker is now a bona fide star at Old Trafford and hopes to accelerate his education over the second half of the campaign.
When asked if there was a particular moment when he first felt like a first-team player, Wilson replied: “The first few weeks were I suppose a bit strange because I hadn’t been around the players for long, which is natural. But the lads were all great with me and were constantly speaking to me.
“I would say that I am a bit of a quiet person anyway, but they have helped me to progress as a person and a footballer. The point was probably just after the first two weeks when I was getting on the bench and making a few appearances. It was then when I thought ‘I’m in the squad now’.”
Wilson scored his first goal of the current campaign during the recent 2-0 win at Queens Park Rangers and hopes to add to his account if selected against Leicester City on Saturday. As he explains, he is already benefiting from the confidence boost provided by his maiden strike at Loftus Road.

“Even in training now I have felt a lot more confident, it has helped me a lot," he added. "They say your first goal of the season is probably the toughest one to score. Hopefully that is just my first one and I can keep going game by game, getting as many minutes as I can and a few more goals.”

Siaplah selalu jadi pembeda di pertandingan, meski sedikit menit yg diturunkan.

James Wilson Anggap John Terry Defender Terbaik

Sheringham : Wilson will star for United

Treble-winner Teddy Sheringham has heaped praise on James Wilson and claimed the exciting young striker has all the necessary attributes to score 20 goals a season for Manchester United. Wilson made his first-team debut at the end of the 2013/14 season under the interim management of Ryan Giggs and has since become a trusted player for Louis van Gaal.

Having sat on the bench for Sunday's 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, the 19-year-old was handed some playing time for the Under-21s on Monday and scored the opening goal in a 2-1 victory over Everton.

Sheringham is now a coach at West Ham United and takes a keen interest in strikers across the Barclays Premier League. In the last edition of United Review, the matchday programme at Old Trafford, he explains why young Wilson has caught his expert eye.

"I really like James Wilson," Teddy declares. "It’s a shame for him that Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie are in front of him. Louis van Gaal said recently that he doesn’t have a striker who can score 20 goals a season, but I think if you put Wilson up there with Wayne Rooney then you’d have two players who can reach those figures for you.

"He’s very direct, scores goals, has good pace and that added bonus of being a left-footer – they always tend to catch defenders off guard and it always looks more special when the left-footed strike goes in. I like his attitude, he looks a good player, a good prospect and one that
everyone needs to keep an eye on."

James Wilson Dinilai Punya Prospek Cetak 20 Gol Semusim untuk MU

Rifqi Ardita Widianto - detikSport
Selasa, 17/03/2015 22:57 WIB

http://snag.gy/WkLkF.jpg

"Saya benar-benar menyukai James Wilson.

James Wilson Harus Manfaatkan Setiap Kesempatan Bermain

http://cdn.klimg.com/bola.net/library/p/headline/0000220181.jpg

Newcastle United Ingin Pinjam James Wilson?

James Wilson Disarankan Jalani Musim Peminjaman Di Klub Lain

Striker MU Ini di Ambang Pintu Keluar Old Trafford

Bos Hull, Steve Bruce, kabarnya ingin Wilson menjadi ujung tombak lini serang timnya, seiring bakal segera dimulainya petualangan The Tigers di Divisi Championship.

Wilson plans to impress Van Gaal on Tour

James Wilson hopes to enjoy an injury-free season and ascend the pecking order of strikers at Manchester United in 2015/16.

http://www.manutd.com/~/media/7A46899BED964678B676A48859380D2A.ashx?w=1280&h=720

Wilson is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in the Barclays Premier League after making his senior debut under the interim manager of Ryan Giggs at the end of the 2013/14 season, before scoring two goals in 17 first-team appearances under Louis van Gaal last campaign.

The 19-year-old Academy graduate recently ticked off another career achievement by flying out to America to take part in his first pre-season tour with the club, before clocking up two 45-minute appearances in the victories over Club America and San Jose Earthquakes.

During an exclusive interview with ManUtd.com in California, on the eve of United’s International Champions Cup clash with Barcelona, Wilson outlined his hopes and ambitions for the year ahead.

Asked if he can impress the manager and put himself in the frame for regular football, Wilson said: “I hope so. I can only show the manager what I have got. He kind of knows my qualities so I have just got to go out on the pitch, show him what I can do and hopefully get that chance to play this season.

“It is tough for the manager with so many players on the tour because everyone has to get minutes, so it was nice to play in both games and 45 minutes was good. I feel fit and I am just hoping not to get injured like last season. It is going to be an important year for me.”

This is Wilson’s first tour with the senior squad and the striker is thoroughly enjoying the experience. “It has been good so far. It is tough for sleeping with the time zones and it took us a few days to get into it, but the training has been good and the weather has been nice for us.

"There are some great facilities here in America. The tour is better than I expected as we are all together and the cohesion in the squad is amazing. We are all getting along so it has been really good.”

Sean Goss was the surprise inclusion in United’s touring squad after catching the manager’s eye in training at the end of last season. Wilson knows the midfielder well from their time together in the Academy and has praised his team-mate's recent move into the first-team squad.

“He is the same as the new signings in that he has come into the squad,” James told us. “Sean did well at the end of last year when he came up and trained with the first team.

"He has just gone from strength to strength since he has been back. Last season did him good to be training with us, so he is going great at the moment.”

Looking forward, Wilson is now hoping to feature against Barcelona when United face the La Liga champions at Levi’s Stadium on Saturday and the livewire is excited to test himself against the best.

“I have just got to go out there and enjoy it and show the manager what I have got,” Willo outlined. “Yeah, I am looking forward to playing against all of the great players and with all of the great players in our team as well. It should be a good match.”

Tekad James Wilson Memikat Van Gaal
Kris Fathoni W - detikSport

http://images.detik.com/content/2015/07/24/72/wilsonclivemasong.jpg

Penyerang Muda Manchester United Ini Siap Beri Bukti

WILSON LOVES UNITED YOUNGSTERS' CHEMISTRY

James Wilson hailed the relationship between Manchester United’s younger first-team players after goals from Jesse Lingard and Adnan Januzaj helped secure Saturday's 3-1 victory over Barcelona on Tour 2015, presented by Aon.

Following Wayne Rooney’s first-half opener, his fellow forward Wilson, 19, fed another young academy graduate, Tyler Blackett, down the left flank which allowed the defender to burst behind Barҫa’s defence and pull the ball back for 22-year-old Lingard to side-foot in for a two-goal cushion.

With the lead halved in the 90th minute by Rafinha, United responded immediately as Januzaj bamboozled Marc Barta and left the collapsed defender in his wake before driving the ball low past Jordi Masip.

The manner in which a young front four of Wilson, Januzaj, Lingard and Andreas Pereira stretched and punished the Barcelona backline in the second half left the Biddulph-born striker beaming in the aftermath of yet another rewarding pre-season triumph.

“We’ve all played together a lot in the youth and Reserves team and there is good chemistry between us,” Wilson explained. “We noticed one of their weaknesses was behind the full-backs and the centre-halves as they don’t have a great deal of pace and I think we utilised that well and scored a few goals.

“He (Lingard) came in from the back post to score. That’s something the wide players are always taught, to come in when the other wide player is crossing it. He got himself in a great position and we know he has the quality to finish off chances.

“The manager just told me to work hard and be a team player and I tried to show him what I had and to do the best job I could out there. It feels great to come away with a result. It was a great experience, to play against such a good team like Barcelona at such a great stadium.”

One aspect of the result that particularly pleased Wilson was the ruthless manner in which the Reds swiftly struck back to re-establish a two-goal lead after conceding Rafinha's goal late into the meeting.

The striker added: “They say one of the most important times are the few minutes after you’ve scored. We managed to capitalise on Barcelona's concentration maybe dropping a little after their goal and it was a great feeling for us to get another so soon.

“We take everything we can from the games. We’ve played a good team and come away with the result. You take confidence from any game you win but to beat a team like Barcelona means we’ve done a good job.”

Wilson wants injury-free run at first team

http://www.manutd.com/sitecore/shell/~/media/5FFA7DA4C5D44B5BAB754A944BA876CD.ashx?w=480&h=270&rgn=13,0,1993,1111

Manchester United forward James Wilson is hoping to remain clear of injury as the youngster aims to force his way into Louis van Gaal’s starting line-up in 2015/16.

The striker, fresh from Tour 2015 presented by Aon, was speaking at a promotional event – led by Reds legend Bryan Robson – as United celebrate the unveiling of the club’s new adidas kit.

Wilson made a strong impression on the first team last season, racking up 17 competitive appearances and netting twice. As the 19-year-old bids for more involvement in the upcoming campaign, he feels maintaining peak condition is key after a successful trip to the USA.

“I just need to keep training hard,” Wilson told MUTV at the Aon Training Complex. “You hear everyone say it. If you want it really bad, you’ve got to train for it. You’ve just got to train hard, get fit and stay injury free really. For me, that’s probably one of the big things because I’ve had little injuries here and there. I’d say staying fit is the big one for me.

“It’s nice to see a bit of rain because it’s been very hot out in the USA!" he admitted, when asked to reflect on the stay across the Atlantic, which included a key part in the move that led to Jesse Lingard's goal against Barcelona.

"The tour has been an unbelievable experience for me. I expressed myself to the manager. He knows what I’m capable of and I just needed to show that. I’ve gone out there and done what I could.”

Not only is Wilson eagerly anticipating the challenges a new season presents, he’s also looking forward to starting United’s next chapter in the team’s first adidas kit since 1992.

“I love it,” he enthused. “It not only looks nice, it feels nice. You’ve got to be comfortable in what you’re playing in. It feels nice and it looks good, so you look the part.

“It’s a difference within the club and there’s a freshness when you get a new kit. You feel different in a new kit and it’s whether you like it or not – I know I, and everyone else, will love it.”

James Wilson promoted to England Under-21s

Manchester United striker James Wilson has been handed his first England Under-21 call-up by coach Gareth Southgate for next month's matches with USA and Norway.

The Reds' no.19 has yet to be included in Louis van Gaal's matchday squad this season but he showed more signs of his promise during Tour 2015 presented by Aon, helping to set up Jesse Lingard's goal in the victory over Barcelona.

Wilson has previously represented his country at schoolboy, Under-19 and Under-20 levels and now looks set to maintain his progress through the age groups.

England Under-21s' friendly with USA's Under-23 side takes place at Preston North End's Deepdale ground on Thursday 3 September - see mypne.com for ticket information. Southgate's squad will then kick off their European qualifying campaign on Monday 7 September in Norway.

"Playing for England's senior team is obviously the main goal," said Wilson. "But you have to take one little step at a time.

"I think the Under-21s will be good for me - a great experience and some valuable game time as well."

Wilson was speaking at last week's 'Together for England' roadshow event at Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club in Manchester.

James Wilson close to loan move with Manchester United striker set to choose between West Brom and Tottenham

West Brom and Tottenham are attempting to close a loan move for Manchester United forward James Wilson before the close of the transfer window on Tuesday night.

Over 15 clubs have registered an interest in Wilson and sources close to the negotiations have toldSportsmail that the player is now considering leaving the club to play regular football.

Wilson's possible exit arrives despite the fact that United have only Wayne Rooney as a recognised striker after Javier Hernandez signed for Bayer Leverkusen, although Anthony Martial is on the brink of signing from Monaco.

James Wilson looks set to leave Manchester United on loan with Spurs and West Brom keen

Manager Louis van Gaal has spoken of the possibility of handing Wilson more opportunities this season but Wilson has not made the match day squad for the first six games of the season.

It is also understood that certain clubs are exploring the possibility of signing Wilson on a permanent deal. As of Monday night, the player was not ruling out the chance that he could be persuaded to leave. It remains to be seen whether Van Gaal will step in to ensure one of the club's most talented youngsters remains at Old Trafford.

Adnan Januzaj has already left the club on loan to join Borussia Dortmund and it is understood that several young players have been left frustrated by manager Louis van Gaal's approach.

Bomber Muda Ini Diminta Tak Tinggalkan MU

Derby County Masih Berupaya Pinjam James Wilson

Klub Liga Championship Inggris itu berencana meminjam Wilson dari Manchester United.

Klub Liga Championship Inggris (http://www.goal.com/id-ID/tables/championship/70), Derby County (http://www.goal.com/id-ID/teams/england/derby-county-fc/699/squad), kembali berupaya untuk meminjam jasa penyerang muda Manchester United (http://www.goal.com/id-ID/teams/england/manchester-united-fc/662/team-news) James Wilson (http://www.goal.com/id-ID/people/wales/48438/james-wilson), demikian seperti dilansir The Sun.

Manchester United striker James Wilson is set to join Derby County on loan.

Despite selling Javier Hernandez to Bayer Leverkusen and allowing Adnan Januzaj to join Borussia Dortmund on loan, United are happy for Wilson - one of only four recognised forwards at Old Trafford - to make the move.

More than 20 clubs enquired for Wilson last week when United indicated they would be willing to let the 19-year-old move following the £36million purchase of Anthony Martial from Monaco.

Manchester United striker James Wilson is set to join Championship side Derby County on loan

Wilson has only played 17 minutes of first-team football since February and United recognise he needs more competitive games to develop.

The young striker is frustrated at his lack of opportunities in the past year despite making a breakthrough under caretaker Ryan Giggs the previous season. A series of niggling injuries have also stunted his progress.

Derby have been very keen to strike a deal for Wilson having managed just four goals in their opening five Championship fixtures.

Wilson came off the bench to score the winner for England U21s against USA U23s in their 1-0 friendly victory at Deepdale on Thursday.

Striker James Wilson is set to stay at Manchester United according to Wolves boss Kenny Jackett.

Wolves had enquired about the England Under-21 international with Nouha Dicko out for the season with a serious knee injury.

Van Gaal: Saya Tak Bisa Lepas James Wilson

WILSON SIGNS NEW CONTRACTS AT UNITED

James Wilson has signed a new contract at Manchester United which keeps him at the club until at least June 2019 with an option to extend for a further year.

Wilson, 19, came through the ranks of the Academy system and has made 18 appearances, also scoring four goals since making his debut against Hull City at Old Trafford in May 2014.

Louis van Gaal said: “James is one of the brightest young English prospects and we are delighted he has signed a new contract. He is a very talented forward player and has a keen eye for goal. His development is continuing in the right direction and it is clear to see that he has a fine future ahead of him."

James Wilson said: “I have been at United since I was seven years old and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far. Growing up at the club has been an incredible experience and I feel it stands me in good stead for continuing my development as a Manchester United player. I am delighted to have signed a new contract and look forward to playing a part in the team for many years to come.”

"Dia butuh waktu bermain.

Bomber Muda MU Kini Jadi Incaran Raksasa Skotlandia

Bola.net - Striker Manchester United, James Wilson, kini tengah menjadi target tim raksasa Skotlandia, Glasgow Celtic.

Menurut laporan The Scotsman, sosok berusia 19 tahun kini memiliki kesempatan untuk bermain bersama sang juara Skotlandia.

OPINION: TIME FOR WILSON TO PUSH HIS CLAIMS
Report by Adam Marshall

The positives were far from plentiful when Manchester United last played, eight long days ago at Arsenal, but there was at least a bright spot in James Wilson making his first senior appearance of the season.

The 19-year-old striker came off the bench for the closing stages of a difficult afternoon at the Emirates Stadium and understandably, given the circumstances, he was restricted in having any major impact. The brief cameo was more cautious than explosive, which has sometimes been the case when he is introduced into games - it certainly was at the same stadium last year when the Reds held out for victory. Yet there persists the feeling an unleashed Wilson can wreak havoc on even the best of defences with his movement and direct approach. This could be his time to shine.

Maintaining the form of a two-goal debut under Ryan Giggs's temporary stewardship in May 2014 was an almost impossible challenge but he gained more experience during Louis van Gaal's first campaign in charge and showed glimpses of what all seasoned watchers of the younger United teams know he can produce.

Blessed with incredible pace and a dead-eyed instinct for goals, there is no doubting Wilson is a real talent. United showed faith in him with a new long-term contract last month and by thus far resisting loan approaches from the string of clubs desperate to obtain his services.

Van Gaal has suggested Wilson is the natural deputy for Anthony Martial at present but voiced concerns at a lack of action for the Englishman. "He has to play but I have doubts about letting him go," explained the boss recently. "Maybe he shall receive minutes off me because I have to rotate, as I did against Ipswich Town, and it can also be done in the other matches. So, I have talked with him and I think that we wait until December."

The manager thinks he will have a clearer picture closer to Christmas as to whether he can release Wilson on loan but in the short term, the striker needs to show he can force himself into the side and make a real impact. Scoring, as he often does, in United Under-21s' win over Everton did his cause no harm and he will look to hit the net again when representing his country on Tuesday evening.

Wilson scored on his England Under-21 debut against USA Under-23s and will be on the goal trail again when Kazakhstan provide the opposition for Gareth Southgate's team at Coventry's Ricoh Arena. One point to note is Southgate made a reference after the centre-forward's satisfying bow last month to the fact there is more physical development to come.

On this front, there was an encouraging sign from Wilson's only Under-21 outing for the Reds this term. During the 3-1 victory over Everton, when he also contributed a nice assist for James Weir, the striker was involved in a crunching challenge with Matthew Pennington. Unfortunately, the Toffees' bruising centre-back was unable to continue but Wilson got to his feet and showed no ill effects.

Last season, when watching Willo, there was sometimes the fear he would be left hobbling due to the physical treatment he received from opponents, probably due to his burgeoning reputation and his habit of making life awkward for defenders. So it was reassuring to see evidence that he is perhaps becoming more durable and capable of riding such strong tackles.

The talent is there and another goal for England Under-21s on Tuesday would relay the message that he is ready for more involvement at United. Maybe even with another game against Everton on Saturday, but this time for the first team at Goodison Park in the Reds' next Barclays Premier League assignment.

The views expressed in this article are personal to the author and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Manchester United.

WILSON LOANED TO BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION

Manchester United striker James Wilson will spend the remainder of the 2015/16 campaign on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 19-year-old, who turns 20 on 1 December, has made just two first-team appearances this season - a start in the Capital One Cup defeat to Middlesbrough and a run-out from the bench in the league defeat at Arsenal last month.

Injuries have hampered his chances, while the impressive form of summer signing Anthony Martial has also limited his opportunities.

The Seagulls, who have not lost a league game all season, are currently riding high in the Championship and lie second in the table - Hull City are only above them by virtue of a better goal difference.

Wilson will hope to gain some valuable experience and playing time with Chris Hughton's side before returning to the Reds for the start of the 2016/17 season. Hughton is delighted to have brought Wilson in on loan and told the Seagulls' official website: "We have been keen to add a striker, and James has been our number one target for some time, so we are absolutely delighted to have completed the deal.

"He is an exciting young striker, and we hope that this move will prove to be very good for all parties involved. There was a huge amount of competition from rival clubs to sign James on loan and it has been another great team effort to secure his signature. I now hope he will help us maintain our excellent start to the season, and bring additional goals to the squad."

The England Under-21 international and United Academy graduate is highly regarded at Old Trafford and signed a new four-year deal, with an option to extend for a further year, with the Reds in September.

Louis van Gaal said of the forward at the time: “James is one of the brightest young English prospects and we are delighted he has signed a new contract. He is a very talented forward player and has a keen eye for goal. His development is continuing in the right direction and it is clear to see that he has a fine future ahead of him."

Everyone at the club wishes James the best of luck for his loan spell.

Wilson Senang Tinggalkan United

Neville Dukung Wilson Tinggalkan MU

Manchester United are missing out on James Wilson in the short term, says Brighton boss Chris Hughton, after striker opens his account with stunning solo effort

* Striker James Wilson has signed for Brighton on a season loan
* The 20-year-old scored his first goal for the club in a 3-2 win over Charlton
* Manchester United youngster had limited chances under Louis van Gaal
* United players were jeered off after a fifth 0-0 draw in their last nine games
* Fans have become frustrated with Manchester United's blunt attack

Brighton manager Chris Hughton is more than happy to capitalise on Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal's decision to send James Wilson out on loan.

Wilson was allowed to sign for the Seagulls on a season loan deal whilst Manchester United's toothless attack continues to lack bite after another draw on Saturday against West Ham.

Hughton, who saw Wilson's fine solo goal ignite a comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at home to Charlton at the weekend, believes the Champions League chasing United will miss Wilson.

Striker James Wilson (left) celebrates scoring his first goal for Brighton against Charlton on Saturday

'In the short term, maybe it's not so good for Manchester United, but in the long term it's better,' he said.

'It is part of the development of a player. I can imagine that fans are thinking that is ridiculous they have difficulties to score, but that is a short term thought.'

The 20-year-old found scarce opportunities under van Gaal but is relishing first-team football on the coast at Brighton.

Wilson was delighted to open his account for Brighton, who moved back top of the Championship on Saturday:

Wilson told The Argus: 'It was difficult with them going 2-0 up so early. Towards the end of the half we were just waiting for the break really to get some new ideas from the changing room and regroup at half-time.

'I think we did that well. We got the goal quite early, which was a great feeling for me on my starting debut, and we showed great character to go on and win the game.

'I could tell that in the changing room as soon as I walked into the club. The lads are all brilliant and they are all motivating each other. It's a brilliant club to come into and a great result today.'

Wilson sprinted and jinked past three players before scoring early in the second-half to provide the spark for the impressive comeback.

'They seemed to move out of the way. Even some of our players moved out the way,' added Wilson.

'I just turned on the edge of the box and everything opened up. I managed to get my shot away at the end and it went through the keeper's legs. It was a great feeling.'

Keran Gol MU Macet, Van Gaal Akan Pulangkan Wilson

West Ham ready to pay £11m for Man United player

West Ham United are considering an £11million move to sign out-of-favour Manchester United ace James Wilson during the summer window, Brentwood Gazette reports.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan with Championship side Brighton after struggling to hold down a regular role under manager Louis van Gaal despite limited options in attack.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is set to add a host of players into his squad if his side can finish the campaign with a spot in Europe.

They are currently sitting fifth on the Premier League table, a point away from Manchester City in fourth and three away from Arsenal in third.
Wilson could be interested in a possible switch to Upton Park given that United are expected to undergo a squad overhaul in the summer, a factor that could push him further down the pecking order.

He has already featured 16 times for Brighton since his arrival, so far managing to score three goals while providing another one assist.

Manchester United striker James Wilson wanted on loan by Fulham

* Fulham have made enquiries about taking striker James Wilson on loan
* Jose Mourinho is happy for young forward to make a temporary move
* Wilson scored five times for Brighton in the Championship last season
* Slavisa Jokanovic is at the front of the queue to sign 20-year-old Wilson
* Mourinho will focus on a strikeforce led by new striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Fulham have asked to take 20-year-old striker James Wilson on loan from Manchester United.

Wilson has been left out of Jose Mourinho's squad of the pre-season trip to China and is primed for another move away from Old Trafford as he looks to gain more experience.

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is at the front of the queue and wants to boost his forward ranks ahead of his first full season in charge at Craven Cottage.

James Wilson is a target for Fulham with the Championship side keen on the Manchester United striker

Wilson played 45 minutes of Mourinho's first game in the 2-0 win at Wigan Athletic on Saturday but was not called up for the fixtures against Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City in China.

The new manager is happy to let him leave for a season in the Championship before returning with the aim of competing for a first-team place.

Last season saw Wilson move to Brighton in November after failing to break through at United under Louis van Gaal. He made 27 appearances, scoring five times, on the south coast.

Mourinho, meanwhile, will focus on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford as his first-team strikers for his first season at United.

Jokanovic led Fulham to 3-0 friendly win over Brighton on Tuesday and also wrapped up a deal for Brentford goalkeeper David Button.

The 27-year-old stopper signed a three-year deal with an option of a further year before being unveiled on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, United defender Guillermo Varela is closing in on a loan move to Frankfurt.

Varela made 11 appearances last season but he does not feature in Mourinho's plans.

WILSON KNEE INJURY FORCES RETURN

Manchester United striker James Wilson has returned to the club for an assessment on a significant knee injury sustained while on loan at Derby County.

The England Under-21 international suffered the injury during a training session on Monday ahead of the Rams' Championship clash with Brentford and is now back with the Reds.

The 20-year-old joined the East Midlands club on a season-long basis in August and has made three starts plus a further appearance as a substitute. He scored in the Checkatrade Trophy draw with Doncaster Rovers earlier this month.

Everybody at United wishes Willo a speedy recovery.

WILSON LOOKING SHARP OUT IN AUSTRIA

James Wilson is back and one of the sharpest shooters of recent years at Reserves and Academy level has clearly lost none of his eye for a goal.

When we spoke to the Biddulph-born striker in March, as he continued to recover from a knee injury at the Aon Training Complex, he declared: "Hopefully, when I get back on the pitch, my finishing [ability] will still be there. I know it will be." Judging by the evidence at the training camp in Austria, he was right.

As our video suggests, he is capable of finding the far corner of the net with unerring accuracy and impressive regularity. During a round-robin tournament on Wednesday, he led his team, and was even charged with the responsibility of organising their warm-up exercises, before scoring within a matter of seconds in the first game. It is almost as though he has some innate ability to work these angles but shrugs off the suggestion it is anything out of the ordinary.

"I always find the corner," he smiles as we stroll back to the main base in Obertraun. "It's not a thing I think about too much, to be honest, I just kind of hit it and it goes there! If it carries on like that, I'm not going to complain."

The 21-year-old does not feel back to 100 per cent yet but this extensive training will help in that respect. His extra work does not go unnoticed by new Under-23s coach Ricky Sbragia, who can see what a role model Wilson has become, particularly for the youngest member of the group in Austria, Mason Greenwood, also a striker.

"I'm feeling stronger," says Wilson. I'm doing a lot of work and I'm feeling good. I felt I needed a bit more practice and the keepers were more than happy to help as we've got seven out here. It was good for me and the goalies as well to get back into the swing of things. It was just finishing from the edge of the box, set and finish, and it went rather well!

"It is good for the younger lads that I am about and they can see how I like to be some sort of role model and watch how I act but I'll let them determine what they think of me."

He is visibly more battle-ready for regular first-team football than when making his stunning two-goal introduction as a 18-year-old against Hull City during Ryan Giggs’ temporary spell in charge in 2014. Willo, then, was willowy and, despite his blistering pace, did not possess the physical presence he has now. It is that speed which also allows him to become an option as a wide forward, which he feels is crucial for any striker.

"I've been at the gym for what has probably been nine months now," he explains. "Gym sessions at least three or four times a week. It has helped me a lot and I'm noticing that in training. My legs are maybe still a bit off but definitely my upper body has surpassed what I was before.

"I think you have to be quite versatile in the modern game. If you can play on the wings, unless you're a real big target man, obvious players like Peter Crouch, who brings something extra to the team, I think you need to be quite versatile if you want to be playing games week in and week out.

"I can play more positions and it's not really an issue for me. It's just about getting a chance really."

So what does the future hold for Wilson? The injury problems that halted his progress are hopefully all behind him. "I'm taking it like any normal season now," he adds. "I know no injury comes at a good time but it was good there was no need to rush to get back before the end of the season. We just took it through into pre-season and, I think, timed it quite well with that even though it was a bit more extended. Better safe than sorry."

The next step is to return to action and then the club will decide the best option for 2017/18. "It depends what comes about really," he says. "I'll see what's happening with the first team because obviously we've brought in new signings. I just want to get back into it really, first and foremost keep on top of my legwork as that is the main thing. But all that extra work, the weeks and weeks of it, are definitely paying off."

If he does begin his comeback at Premier League 2 level, the early signs are he will soon be back in the groove and making up for lost time. We live in a fast-paced world where a spell on the sidelines can make players appear like forgotten men in the minds of some fans. Yet nobody who witnessed Willo terrorising defences at younger levels for United would ever write him off. Hopefully, he can show what we know he is capable of.

WILSON WAITS ON FUTURE AHEAD OF WINDOW

Manchester United striker James Wilson has told MUTV that a decision was taken to regain full fitness in the Reserves before considering another loan move away from the club.

The 21-year-old has had to be patient after recovering from a knee-ligament injury sustained a year ago during a spell with Derby County in the Championship. He has been part of Ricky Sbragia's Under-23 squad this term and, last Sunday, his shot led to Demi Mitchell's second goal in the 4-2 defeat at West Ham United but he was withdrawn in the 51st minute.

As several clubs showed an interest in obtaining his services in the summer, it is likely he will have suitors again in January but discussions will need to take place with the coaching staff before deciding the best course of action.

"I'm doing well at the moment," he told MUTV. "It's really nice to be back outside with the lads and just be around everyone. They've welcomed me back into the changing room really well and I'm enjoying my time, trying to get back fit and doing my best for the team.

"It's just about building your way back up to it by getting game time. That's the only time you can impress when managers and different people are coming to see you. They don't see you in training and that's the difference between training and games.

"The recovery is a process and I think I've dealt with it quite well mentally," he explained. "If you're not training for 90 minutes, which you can't always do, I think it's really hard to get that unique fitness you need for a full game. It's just a matter of keeping playing games and staying as fit as I can.

"I've listened to the advice of everyone around me and they have been brilliant throughout my process. I can't really describe it but it's like you really want to get out there. Yet you get little setbacks and how you deal with them is really important. The help from the people around the place is a massive part of that and they have definitely done brilliantly for me."

When asked whether a loan move could be on the cards in the New Year, he replied: "I don't see why not. Obviously, the summer transfer window has gone and there was a lot of interest. But the staff all came to an agreement that I would stay until January to build on what I've already worked for.

"So I think it's certainly a possibility. We'll just have to talk and have a few conversations with the manager and certain people around here. I'm not ruling it out but we'll come to an agreement over what needs to be done."

Manchester United outcast James Wilson set to be given career lifeline by Sheffield United with loan spell

* Sheffield United are one point adrift of the Championship play-off places
* Blades boss Chris Wilder is looking to bring in attacking reinforcements
* Manchester United youngster James Wilson could be offered a loan move
* The 22-year-old was ruled out of last season with a cruciate ligament injury
* Wilson managed just five appearances for Derby before suffering the set back

Manchester United striker James Wilson could be offered a chance to revive his career at Championship high-flyers Sheffield United.

Wilson, 22, scored twice on his United debut under Ryan Giggs in 2014 but hasn’t played a first-team game since suffering an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury on loan at Derby 16 months ago.

He managed just five games for the Rams prior to the injury that saw him need surgery and sidelined for the majority of last season.

The forward also spent a season on loan at Brighton where he scored five goals in his 27 appearances on their way to the play-offs.

Blades boss Chris Wilder is keen to add firepower in January with his side just one point off the play-offs and will find out if a loan deal for Wilson is possible.

He has also agreed terms for £700,000 Southend midfielder Ryan Leonard.

WILSON LOANED TO SHEFF UTD

Manchester United striker James Wilson has joined Championship side Sheffield United on loan for the remainder of the 2017/18 season.

The 22-year-old is this season's top goalscorer for Ricky Sbragia’s Under-23s, after recovering from a long-term knee injury that he suffered while out on loan at Derby County in October 2016.

The English centre-forward came through the ranks of the Academy and famously scored twice on his first-team debut, under the interim management of Ryan Giggs against Hull City in May 2014, before going on to net two more goals during Louis van Gaal’s spell as manager.

This will be Wilson's third loan spell in the Championship, after bagging five goals in 27 appearances at Brighton & Hove Albion during the 2015/16 season, prior to his spell at Derby being cut short by the aforementioned injury.

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United currently sit seventh in England’s second tier and they are vying for successive promotions, after being crowned League One champions last term.

The Blades boss is excited to have Wilson on board: “James has a fantastic pedigree having come through the ranks at Manchester United and importantly has some good Championship experience," Wilder told the official Sheffield United website.

“He says he is raring to go and is the fittest he has ever been, so couple that with his undoubted ability and desire to impress, than I’m sure he will improve the group.”

A devastating finisher, Wilson is the second United player to make a temporary move to the Blades in the last 12 months after defender Joe Riley switched to Bramall Lane a year ago. The full-back played just twice before dislocating his shoulder during training and returning to the club.

Everyone at the club wishes James well at Sheffield United.

Manchester United outcast James Wilson joins Aberdeen in season-long loan move in bid to kickstart career

* James Wilson will go on loan from Manchester United for a fourth time
* Striker has previously been at Brighton, Derby County and Sheffield United
* Injuries have stunted 22-year-old's progress since scoring on United debut

Manchester United youngster James Wilson has completed his season-long loan move to Aberdeen in a bid to get his career back on track.

The 22-year-old was once seen as the next breakout star in the United youth system after scoring twice on his debut under caretaker boss Ryan Giggs in 2014.

Former United boss Louis van Gaal once described Wilson as 'one of the brightest young English prospects' but injuries and the emergence of Marcus Rashford have since stunted his progress.

https://s8.postimg.cc/etkznmked/4_F10_F1_FC00000578-6054595-image-a-13_1534168826287.jpg (https://postimages.org/)

Wilson will wear the No 9 shirt during his season-long loan spell at Pittodrie

Wilson admitted he was flattered by Aberdeen's interest which he only found out about in the last few weeks through Manchester United's Under 23s manager.

'Ricky Sbragia told me of the interest three to four weeks ago,' Wilson told Aberdeen's RedTv channel. 'Since then I've heard there has been interest for a while, like six to 12 months, which is nice.

'I felt like it was the right decision to make. I spoke to the manager on the phone, how he plays, his philosophy and his plans for me going forward for the season.'

https://s8.postimg.cc/vu3vwbkl1/4_F10_F2_AC00000578-6054595-image-a-16_1534169072901.jpg (https://postimages.org/)
The striker will be hoping to kickstart his career with his fourth loan move away from United

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes was also pleased to have secured a major target and that the striker had chosen to make the move to the Scottish Premiership.

'I am absolutely delighted to secure James on a season-long loan as he is a player I feel will very quickly become an important member of the squad for us, McInnes told Aberdeen's website.

'He is a real quality player, who I think will suit the way we play, and, having spoken to him, I think he sees this move as a real opportunity for him.

'There were other clubs interested in taking James but he feels this is the right place for him to continue his development.

'I'd also like to thank Manchester United for the part they played in making the loan happen.'

Wilson's career progress was slowed by an anterior cruciate ligament injury while on loan at Derby, in between loan spells at Brighton & Hove Albion and at Sheffield United last term, where the striker scored once in nine appearances.

His form at Aberdeen could make or break his career with his United contract up at the end of the season, although the club do have an option to extend that by a year.

United are expected to pay much of Wilson's wages while on loan in Scotland which stands at around £30,000 per week.

Striker James Wilson returns to Aberdeen on two-year deal after being released by Manchester United

* Confirmation of seventh close season signing is expected Wednesday morning
* Dons boss Derek McInnes has fought off interest from Sunderland to land Wilson
* Striker impressed on loan at the Dons despite scoring only four goals last season

Aderdeen have secured a permanent deal for released Manchester United striker James Wilson.

Dons boss Derek McInnes has fought off interest from Sunderland to land the 23-year-old on a two year contract.

Confirmation of the Pittodrie club's seventh close season signing is expected Wednesday morning.

Once a top prospect at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal, Wilson's career has stalled in recent years.

Despite grabbing just four goals during a year on loan at Pittodrie last season, the return of the striker on a permanent deal represents a Dons signing coup.

Speaking earlier this week Aberdeen legend Willie Miller backed a Wilson return saying: 'If they can get him to return they should be applauded.

Aberdeen have fought off interest from Sunderland to land striker James Wilson. The 23-year-old impressed on loan at the Dons despite scoring only four goals last season

'After being released by United, Wilson will have been the subject of plenty of interest from clubs in England.

'I know many fans don't think he made enough of a contribution during his loan.

'But we saw glimpses of what he is capable of and in the final few games he started to play close to his top form.'

Aberdeen have already signed Ash Taylor, Curtis Main, Craig Bryson, Greg Leigh and wingers Ryan Hedges and John Gallagher.

'I could have packed it in when it went wrong at Manchester United but I love the game too much': Aberdeen striker James Wilson has his sights set on Premier League return

* Former Man United starlet had been tipped for greatness by Louis van Gaal
* The 23-year-old considered his options after being released by boyhood club
* Wilson was offered two-year deal by Dons after impressing on loan last season

Aberdeen striker James Wilson wondered whether he had a future in football after finding himself without a contract for the first time in his career last summer.

The former Manchester United starlet, who had been tipped for greatness by ex-Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal and club legend Ryan Giggs, scored four goals in an at-times frustrating loan spell at Pittodrie last season while his lucrative Old Trafford contract ran to its conclusion.

Knowing he would have to leave his boyhood club once his deal had expired and facing a summer of uncertainty, Wilson admits he momentarily considered options outside of the sport altogether.

James Wilson isn't ready to give up on his dream of being a Premier League striker just yet

Having endured frustrating loan spells in the English Championship with Brighton, Derby and Sheffield United prior to joining Derek McInnes at the Dons, there was no guarantee he would be able to continue his career at the level to which he had become accustomed.

However, despite failing to hit the heights expected of him at Aberdeen, Wilson was offered a two-year deal by McInnes and wasted no time in accepting the offer.

Asked why his career at Old Trafford didn't pan out as many had expected, the 23-year-old said: 'I'm not sure. I came in every day trying my best but sometimes it just doesn't work out. That's football.

'It's a tough game and a tough industry. I think for me it was about taking it as well as possible. If this isn't going to happen, what else can I do?

Wilson was offered a two-year deal by Aberdeen and wasted no time in accepting the offer. The 23-year-old fell out of love with the game following a turbulent period filled with injuries

'Is there something to fall back on? Whether that be inside of football or outside of football. I have thought of things that I can do after my career has finished as well.

'I thought doing that was good for me, especially not being under contract for the first time.

'I think it was a bit of a turning point. I could have packed it in if I wanted to, but I don't want to because I love the game. I could easily have gone into something else, but that is not what I wanted to do at this point.

'It was never in the back of my mind — well, it must have been because I'm telling you that now, but it wasn't something I considered.'

Struggling to fulfil the heights expected of him from respected figures in the footballing world added a further degree of pressure.

Giggs had labelled Wilson 'a natural goalscorer' after handing him his first-team debut at home to Hull in May 2014, while Van Gaal had described him as 'one of the brightest young English prospects' when the striker signed a four-year deal in September 2015.

Wilson added: 'I do put myself under a lot of pressure, so if people do say 'he's going to be this or going to be that', then that does sort of come into my head a bit.

'If it doesn't work out, it does get a bit frustrating but I'm here for a reason and I'm here to work hard and give it my best.'

At Aberdeen, Wilson is starting to enjoy football once again after falling out of love with the game following a turbulent period filled with injuries and a lack of goals.

It was the main reason he decided to prolong his stay at Pittodrie.

'I enjoyed my season so much here last year despite not playing as much as I wanted to, being around people that I knew as well, so I think it was about finding the happiness of football again which was a big thing for me,' admitted Wilson, who will return for Saturday's trip to Motherwell after missing the 1-1 draw with Hibs and 5-0 thrashing by Rangers through injury.

'There were other clubs in the Championship interested and even in America I've heard as well, so I think even though I had offers, it was important for me to get back to enjoying playing football again.

'I had a bad ACL (knee) injury and then went to Sheffield United for six months which didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, so I think I lost a bit of confidence, which is nothing against Sheffield United.

'It was a brilliant club to be at, but I think just coming here (Aberdeen), building my confidence back up again, I enjoyed the process of that and got my confidence back. I think it showed towards the end of last season where I managed to start a few games and get a goal or two.'

Wilson's apparent loss of confidence in recent years is surprising given that he once trained with the first team at United under Van Gaal and worked alongside the club's elite strikers on a regular basis.

'There were four of us when we were training,' he recalled. 'It was (Wayne) Rooney, (Robin) Van Persie and (Radamel) Falcao at the time. I think just seeing them in training was enough, just to see what they do on the pitch. It's amazing the amount of things you can pick up from them when they don't seem like they're doing anything.

'If you watch even the body language, you can tell that they're going to do something. Just seeing them around the building, on the training pitch in the year or two that I got under Van Gaal, it was a big thing for me.'

Wilson certainly isn't ready to give up on his dream of being a Premier League striker just yet.

He has one eye on securing a regular place in the Aberdeen side but another on the long-term goal of getting back to the English top flight.

'I'd like to think I've not hit my peak yet, so I'm working towards that (getting back to the Premier League),' he added.

'I'm coming in every day trying to make myself a better player, a better person, and, if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out.

'That's just the way football goes but I'm certainly going to do everything I can within my power to make it happen.'
