RYAN Giggs is paying the price for being a bed devil…by coughing up £15,000 for a new hand-carved four-poster.

The Manchester United star’s cheated wife Stacey is giving their £5million mansion an expensive makeover so the couple can start afresh after his sex- shame double life was rumbled.

Devastated Stacey, 32, doesn’t know for sure if any of Giggsy’s cheating was done inside the marital home – but she’s certainly taking no chances.

She’s commissioned a carpenter to build a bespoke four-poster bed, made from oak with a hand-painted finish.

But her hopes of having it installed in the master bedroom by the time her 37-year-old hubby returns from United’s pre-season tour to America have been dashed. “Ryan gets back in about three weeks’ time and Stacey wasn’t sure how long it would take to make,” revealed a friend.

“When she gave the firm the specifications she wanted, they went away and worked out it would take at least 12 weeks – and that’s working flat out.

“Stacey is giving the whole place a refurb with new colour scheme, new furniture – the lot. It’s like she wants a new start for them. She didn’t want to move house because she really loves the place they’ve got.

“Ryan is like a little puppy at the moment and will do whatever he’s told. He didn’t bat an eyelid when he heard the extent of all the work Stacey wants done.

“She’s calling the tune big style at the moment and he has to go along with the flow.” It is understood Stacey has agreed to forgive the £80,000-a-week winger – who has amassed a £34million fortune from his 20-year playing career – on condition that he never strays again.

She’s told him if he does he’ll be booted out of the house in Worsley, near Manchester, they share with children Libby, seven, and Zach, four.

Stacey has also ordered him to sever all ties with his sister-in-law Natasha Giggs, 28 – the two-timing mum who had a sordid eight-year fling with the football ace.

Giggs’ shattered brother Rhodri has now served divorce papers on Nat insisting he never wants to set eyes on her again.

Delivery driver Rhodri, 34, is just about on speaking terms with Giggs but has told friends he will never fully forgive him.

Giggs also had a six-month fling with Big Brother beauty Imogen Thomas, 28, which he failed to hush up despite taking out a controversial gagging order

Manchester United arrived in town last week for a 7 p.m. friendly Wednesday against Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field. In anticipation of the game, The Seattle Times had an exclusive interview Friday with club legend Ryan Giggs, a 37-year-old midfielder for the reigning EPL champion, to discuss the game and his celebrated career.

Q: United has grown into a huge mega-club, but what did you know about the team as a kid growing up in Wales?

Giggs: "Well I was a United fan, so I've followed the club all my life really. At that stage Manchester United was a huge club but probably underachieving, whereas Liverpool was probably not as big a club fanwise but was a lot more successful. They were the benchmark really that we needed to get to."

Q: You signed with the first team in 1990. How special is it to have been with one team for so long and seen it grow as it has?

Giggs: "To win that first league title (to end a 26-year drought) was special, especially growing up as a Manchester United fan. I'm fortunate to have played in the most successful era of the club. It's been a huge honor for me to be around and to see it go from not winning trophies to winning trophies consistently."

Q: Sir Alex Ferguson said one of the appeals to United is that its teams have always played the right way. How much do the players carry that as a responsibility?

Giggs: "I think the manager's right. I think first of all you want to win things, but you also want to do it in style. You want to please the fans, because Manchester United fans have grown up with that history of attacking players, flair players, and I think if we were winning things and not playing attractively, the fans wouldn't stand for it. They want to win things but they also want to do it in the right way."

Q: Do you think it adds an appeal when players like yourself, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, etc., have come up through the youth ranks instead and the team hasn't had to rely on big-money signings from other teams?

Giggs: "Again, I think it's part of Manchester United's history. They've always brought players through, even from the '50s where the Busby Babes were so successful. Right from that stage really, and even before, it's something the fans can relate to: seeing a player grow up through the youth team, seeing them develop from 13 or 14 to the first team and playing for the national team, as well. It's something that the manager's very proud of. He wants to see it. But you also have to bring in the quality from around the world that brings the different personalities and different cultures to the club that we've seen over the last five years. Also you need that new face, a nucleus of young players that know the history and know the traditions of Manchester United."

Q: To be with one team your whole career is rare. It might be rarer to spend it all with one manager. What has that been like?

Giggs: "It's something that I'm proud of. He's probably the greatest manager that's ever lived. I learned so much from him at such an early age and I carry on learning."

Q: Are there certain accomplishments that you're also particularly proud of? Most games played (876) for United? Being the only player to score in each EPL season?

Giggs: "When it comes to winning things and the records that you break, those are things you don't really think about while you're still playing. ... The things that stick out are the trophies that you've missed out on or the games that you've lost. Defeat lasts a lot longer with you."

Q: What is it like having such a loyal following wherever you go in the world?

Giggs: "It's great when we come to America and see the fans that we have here — it's just developing all the time from when I was here nearly 8-9 years ago. We've been to Australia on tours and seen the fans there. I remember my first preseason tour we went to South Africa and I just had no idea the amount of fans that Manchester United had. It never ceases to surprise you the amount of fans that we do have. It's great all around the world."

Q: Do you remember much from your last trip to Seattle in 2003?

Giggs: "I remember we played in the same stadium (against Celtic) and it's a beautiful stadium. I just remember that really. It's great to be back and play in the stadium against a Seattle team who are doing well at the moment. It should be good fun."

Reds legend Ryan Giggs has been nominated for the Golden Foot award alongside former Old Trafford team-mate David Beckham.

Giggs is one of 10 players shortlisted by a jury of sports journalists from all over the world and the winner will leave his footprint on Monaco's Champions Promenade 'Walk of Fame'.

The other nominees are Gianluigi Buffon, Iker Casillas, Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o, Carles Puyol, Raul, Xavi and Javier Zanetti.

Ryan Giggs, wife Stacey show unity with outing in Manchester

London, August 2 (ANI): It looks like things are heading back to normal between love rat Ryan Giggs and his wife Stacey, as the two were spotted together during a Manchester outing recently.

Though there were no public displays of affection, the couple's togetherness certainly suggests that they might have left behind the Imogen Thomas controversy, reports the Daily Mail.

While the Chelsea star :hammer::hammer: looked healthy in a white T-shirt and a pair of jeans, Stacey looked tinier than ever in a pair of black leggings and tasselled knee-high boots.

The couple, who got married in a private ceremony in 2007, were reportedly at odds after Giggs' fling with Thomas came into the limelight. (ANI)

RYAN GIGGS IS THE MAN FOR ALL MANCHESTER UNITED SEASONS

Ryan Giggs’ nine-minute cameo against Spurs saw him become the new all-time top division number one appearance maker.

His 614th Premier League match took him past Steve Perryman’s record that had stood for 25 years.

Like Giggs Perryman was a home-produced player and served Tottenham from 1969 to 1986 as right back and eventually captain lifting back-to-back FA Cups at Wembley in 1981 and 82.

The Londoner is now director of football at Exeter City and didn’t even know he held the record until he was informed late last season that United’s 37-year-old was on the brink of overtaking it.

But when he officially heard on TV on Monday evening that Giggs was the new record holder Perryman could not have been happier.

“I am absolutely delighted it was Ryan Giggs who broke my record,” Steve told M.E.N. Sport.

“I am disappointed for myself but it couldn’t have got to a better professional. What he has achieved on the field with United is phenomenal.”

Giggs opened his Reds league account in 1991 as a sub against Evert on just five years after Perryman’s 17-year White Hart Lane career ended.

“Manchester United and Ryan Giggs is a marriage made in heaven just as myself and Tottenham Hotspurs was,” Perryman said.

“A lot of things have to go right for that kind of appearance record to happen and I am not sure it will happen ever again. I was just unlucky Ryan Giggs popped up at Old Trafford!

“You have to get into the first team very early for a start to have a chance. I was 18 and Ryan was 17. Then you have to be consistent, have some luck and prepare properly.

“You also have to be happy and feel right at the club. You have to fit in. If you are not happy you will find injuries.

“You will pick up niggles if you are stressed because that is what stress can do to you. I never had that feeling and I don’t think Ryan has because he loves it at United as I did at Spurs.

“Loyalty is a two-way thing. It only suits if both parties are happy. If you are treated right then you will respond and give it back. If you feel the club care about you as I did at Spurs then you are content and will play well and work hard.

“Tottenham was a very big family club. Looking in from the outside I get the impression United are the same.

“Also, very importantly you have to work for a very good manager.

“I had Bill Nicholson as my boss for most of my Spurs career. Ryan has had Sir Alex Ferguson for all of his. Managers are not selecting players out of kindness. Their jobs depend on their team choices so you have to have been doing something right for most of the time to keep being chosen.

“When you have a manager like I had and like Ryan has who appreciate you and respect you then you have to do something really stupid to set them against you.

Consistency

“To have the consistent backing of a manager for so long is terrific to have.

“The one thing that helped me was that I was never allowed to get above myself. Firstly I had my elder brother who was always telling me I was rubbish no matter how well I played.

“Then I had Bill Nich who would never let you get above your station. I recall one famous occasion when I played what I regard as my best ever match.

“I was always a team player and set great store by that and have always been reluctant to pick out my individual favourite performances but against AC Milan in the semi final of the UEFA Cup in 1971 I scored twice.

“For a player who was lucky to have two shots in a match this was an achievement!

“After matches I always used to find a quiet spot before I left the dressing room to meet family and friends. I used to sit in the treatment room.

“After the Milan match I was sat alone when the doctor walked in and as he straightened his tie in the mirror he muttered to himself, ‘Bill Nicholson is a genius’.

“It was obvious he wanted me to hear and knew I’d respond. I asked him why and he replied ‘he very nearly didn’t pick you tonight.’

“I was the star of the evening but I left the ground wondering what I had done wrong to almost not be chosen. I am not sure Bill Nicholson was into mind games but I suspect he may have put the doc up to it to keep my feet on the ground.

“If you ever got too big for your boots he would tread on you very hard. It was all part of the discipline and good habits. You have to buy into that and adhere to them if you hope to have longevity.

“From what you hear I think Sir Alex Ferguson is similar. I am sure Ryan will have experiences moments like that no matter how much he has achieved.

“However, you can be led, and that is important, but at the end of the day it comes down to yourself. Ryan has the benefit these days of better diet and things like his yoga but those kinds of things can be on offer but you still had to do them and he’s prepared himself so well for so long.”

Perryman also admires Giggs for tackling the day in, day out weight of expectation of being a Manchester United player.

“United are not allowed to lose matches and to live with that is a big stress,” added Steve.

“Also being a home grown player brings its own pressures. I was a home produced player and then I became Spurs captain. It was a heavy responsibility.

“I always knew if we’d lost and then I had a letter in my post at the club addressed to ‘Steve Perryman – captain’ it was not going to be a good one!

“You take a lot on yourself when you are skipper or like Ryan a long server. That kind of responsibility can make some players but it can kill others.

“Ryan has obviously responded to the expectation at Old Trafford. He’s been terrific.

“I was assistant at Spurs when Ryan first made it to the first team at United and I watched him at close quarters. As a former right back I was glad I didn’t have to face him because he was rapid.

“What I admire about him is that he’s developed his game as he’s got older and that has helped him towards that record. Will it be broken? I don’t think so. He’s probably got it for good.”

JUAN MATA heads to Old *Trafford on Sunday dreaming of meeting one of Manchester United’s all-time greats.

Chelsea’s £24m summer signing from Valencia idolised golden oldie Ryan Giggs when he was growing up in Spain.

Now he could be playing against the winger, 37, who rolled back the years with another stunning goal in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Mata said: “When I was growing up, I had many idols, like Dennis Bergkamp and Gianfranco Zola. But Ryan Giggs was an inspiration to me.

“I think he showed what he’s worth with that goal. He’s one of the best *wingers ever. Perhaps I noticed Giggs because he plays in the same position as me. [b]He was incredibly impressive, with his tackling, dribbling and general style.”

Mata ended up playing with another United great at Real Madrid, where he impressed in the reserves but never quite cracked the first team.

He said: “I was there with David *Beckham. My sister Paula, who was in Brighton at the time, liked him so I asked for his shirt and he gave it to me.”

Mata will no doubt ask to swap shirts with Giggs after Sunday’s showdown, but he knows the size of the task facing *Chelsea. He said: “Obviously they are *doing really well.

“They have won all their games and are real *contenders.

“I went to Old Trafford with Valencia when we drew there in the Champions League and it was very impressive.

Ryan Giggs believes it is time for the latest batch of youngsters to roll off the Manchester United production line to make their mark.
Much has already been made of the youthfulness of United's first team squad this season.
But Phil Jones was bought in from Blackburn, Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling were already regulars with Sir Alex Ferguson's senior squad, while Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck had furthered their educations with spells away from United on loan.
With injuries starting to affect his squad, Ferguson may end up using more kids than he initially imagined in tomorrow night's Carling Cup third round tie at local rivals Leeds.
Strangely, Giggs may be there as well to lend a hand. Michael Owen, Park Ji-sung, Fabio, Antonio Valencia, Federico Macheda and Mame Biram Diouf are others who need a game and the same was also true of Dimitar Berbatov before Javier Hernandez's injury in yesterday's 3-1 win over Chelsea shunted the Bulgarian up the striking roster.
So, Ferguson must decide how many youngsters to expose in a game where the atmosphere in the stands is expected to be distinctly frosty.
However, Giggs believes it is how the likes of Paul Pogba and Will Keane come through such tests that will determine whether they make it to the top of their chosen careers.
'There are young players coming through at United but this is an important part of their career,' Giggs told MUTV.

Current players Lionel Messi, Ryan Giggs and Clarence Seedorf have made French newspaper L'Equipe's all-time top Champions League team.

The remainder of the starting XI is comprised of former greats, with everyone in the side having won Europe's top club competition at least twice.

Between the sticks the publication have selected Sepp Maier, who triumphed in the tournament three years running between 1974 and 1976 with Bayern Munich.

A back four of Liverpool's Phil Neal, German legend Franz Beckenbauer and AC Milan duo Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi make the grade ahead of stiff competition.

The three men still active in the game are joined by Johan Cruyff in midfield, who picked up three winner's medals with Ajax in the 1970s.

In attack, five-times winner and Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano is paired with Marco van Basten, who lifted the trophy twice with AC Milan.

Ryan Giggs paid tribute to the man who's mentored his 20 years at the top with Manchester United after scooping the Golden Foot award for 2011.

After receiving his trophy from Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Reds legend said he had been "fortunate to play for the greatest manager" in Sir Alex Ferguson.

"He's hard but fair. He demands a lot from his players as he does from himself," remarked Ryan, at Monday night's glittering Golden Foot ceremony.

"He is the best manager and it's great to have had him there throughout my career."

Giggs was named Golden Foot winner after a record number of votes were cast on the competition's website. As part of his prize, the Welshman will have a permanent mould of his footprints on Monte Carlo's 'Champions Promenade'. This Hollywood-style celebration features some of the biggest names in the history of the game.

Ryan said, "It's a great honour to win such an award and to have my footprints alongside some of the greatest football players is a real privilege.

"I have been fortunate to play alongside great players, play for the greatest manager and play for the best club in the world. At the moment I am still enjoying my football so I have not thought about what I will do when I finish, but if it all finished tomorrow I could say that I have had a fantastic career and wouldn't swap it with anybody."

Giggs' rivals for the 2011 award included his former United team-mate David Beckham. Istri Giggs Bertengkar Hebat Dengan Iparnya

Bola.net - Kisruh rumah tangga bintang Manchester United, Ryan Giggs, nampaknya masih belum akan surut. Hari kemarin Stacey sang istri bertengkar hebat di jalanan kota Manchester dengan si ipar, Natasha.

Natasha adalah istri dari adik Giggs, Rhodri Giggs. Yang beberapa waktu sebelumnya mengungkap kisah perselingkuhan terlarangnya dengan Giggsy kepada media-media Inggris.

Stacey yang secara tak sengaja bertatap muka dengan Natasha di jalanan kota Manchester langsung melabraknya dengan berbagai macam cacian.

Kejadian tersebut mengambil tempat di depan restoran China, Tung Fong di bilangan Manchester. Natasha yang sedang menunggu saudaranya dilabrak oleh Stacey secara bertubi-tubi.

Salah satu sumber yang di tempat kejadian menuturkan kepada The Sun, "Stacey langsung mendamprat Natasha bilang dia wanita jalang, dan keduanya saling tukar olokan,"

"Giggs bahkan sempat menarik istrinya masuk ke dalam mobil dan menyuruhnya diam, lalu Giggs sempat berteriak kepada Natasha, apa kau bangga dengan ini semua, apa yang terjadi di antara kita hanyalah sebuah s*k*, aku tak pernah peduli denganmu,"

Natasha membongkar aib keluar Giggs, dengan bercerita kepada media bahwa ia pernah menjalin hubungan terlarang dengan kakak suaminya itu selama lebih dari 8 bulan, hingga membuat keluarga itu tercerai berai.

Kejadian ini sungguh ironis bagi Giggs, karena beberapa hari sebelumnya ia mendapatkan penghargaan Golden Foot 2011, anugerah bagi pribadi sepak bola yang dinilai patut dijadikan teladan. (sun/lex)

Manchester - Di usia 37 tahun, Ryan Giggs belum ingin gantung sepatu dan mundur dari dunia sepakbola. Pemain Manchester United itu pun sudah mempertimbangkan untuk minta perpanjangan kontrak.

Saat ini Giggs dikontrak per tahun oleh MU, dengan kontraknya yang sekarang akan habis pada bulan Juni tahun depan. Namun, si pemain Wales belum berencana pensiun dan merasa masih cukup bugar untuk terus bermain setidaknya satu musim lagi, membuatnya masih merumput sampai tahun 2013.

"Ya, aku pikir begitu. Tidak ada yang menarik buatku kecuali bermain dengan tim ini," tukas Giggs di calciomercato.com, saat ditanyakan apakah ingin lanjut setahun lagi usai konraknya saat ini habis.

"Setelah Natal aku akan menemui (Manajer MU) Sir Alex Ferguson di kantornya dan kami akan bicara mengenai kontrakku.

Pemain yang di antaranya sudah memenangi12 gelar liga, empat titel Piala FA, dan dua trofi Liga Champions selama karirnya di Old Trafford itu cukup yakin niatnya menambah kontrak dapat sambutan positif dari Fergie.

"Aku punya hubungan baik dengannya. Aku memiliki kontrak per tahun dengan MU dan yang aku butuhkan hanya duduk satu meja dengannya selama beberapa menit untuk memperbaruinya," lugas Giggs.

Ahead of this weekend's Manchester derby, Ryan Giggs has made it clear that he is quite wary of Mario Balotelli. Not just of his talent on the pitch, but of his eccentricities, well, everywhere.

Giggs told Calciomercato (via the BBC):

"He is really very good, but also a little strange," Giggs said.

"God knows how many fines he has received! In England, no one except Manchester City fans really like him. But I think that he is talented."

Ryan is, of course, referring to the reports of Balotelli's prodigious parking fines. He's couldn't be more wrong about only City fans liking him, though. The homeless have also grown fond of him. As have the nation's bullied youths.

It'll be interesting to see if Giggs quickly crosses to the other side of the pitch whenever Balotelli gets near him on Sunday.

Sayang kemarin dia sempat tersangkut kasus perselingkuhan namun itu urusan privacy Giggs, yang penting dia tetap bisa menunjukkan permainan yang baik. Kalau tidak salah Giggs dianggap sebagai penerus alami dari legenda United, George Best.

The ex-Big Brother beauty went to the High Court in London to apply for the lifting of a gagging order obtained by the footballer seven months ago.

Giggs, 37, got the injunction to stop Imogen, 28, from revealing the details of their six month affair.

The married dad-of-two was later named in Parliament as the subject of the court order after being outed world- wide on social networking site Twitter.

Giggs’s sister-in-law Natasha, 29, then revealed she had also had a secret fling with the Manchester United star stretching back eight years.

In light of estate agent Natasha’s revelations Imogen now wants the right to speak out too.

Yesterday the former Miss Wales arrived at court with her lawyers to ask Mr Justice Eady for the right to make a public statement about the case.

But after almost two hours of legal argument in private the judge reserved judgment with no date given for his ruling.

Before ordering the press and public to leave court he said the application was about “what if anything can be said in public by way of a statement.”

At a previous hearing Mr Justice Eady said even though Giggs had been named - the injunction still served a purpose to stop his family being “engulfed in a cruel and destructive media frenzy.”

The judge said no matter what had appeared on Twitter it was the court’s duty to protect him "and this family for as long as it can.”

Giggs: Imogen Thomas Did Not Blackmail Me

Ryan Giggs has admitted glamour model and former Big Brother star Imogen Thomas did not blackmail him over allegations of an extra-marital affair.

The Premier League player is said to have had an affair with Ms Thomas and was granted an injunction earlier this year to prevent the media from naming him.

But Mr Justice Eady, at the High Court, said there was no longer any point in trying to maintain the footballer's anonymity.

The injunction had up to now remained in place despite the Manchester United star having been named on the internet, in foreign newspapers and in the House of Commons.

But the injunction had not prevented Ms Thomas from being named.

She was accused of blackmail, of setting up the footballer and of trying to sell her story. Until now she had been unable to respond openly to these allegations.

Thomas' lawyers have spent months arguing that her name has been dragged through the mud.

In court, a fulsome statement agreed by both sides was read out in which Giggs, who was not present, accepted that the blackmail allegations were baseless.

On the steps of the High Court, Ms Thomas read a brief statement.

She said: "To suddenly have to defend my character because of this legal process has been extremely upsetting and stressful.

"I'm just relieved that the parties and the court now accept that I'm no blackmailer. I have been vindicated and that's all I wanted."

News of the apparent affair first surfaced in an article in The Sun newspaper on February 14.

The article claimed Ms Thomas had been engaged in an affair with a 'married footballer'.

Later that day, the footballer applied for an injunction preventing him from being named.

Giggs was able to give a witness evidence to the judge which Ms Thomas claims was damning but baseless.

Her complaint was that he had been granted anonymity through an injunction she was not aware of and which allowed her name to be published and her reputation to be damaged.

At the start of the brief hearing, Mr Justice Eady hinted he might lift the injunction.

"There is no longer any point in maintaining the anonymity?" he said, in what appeared to be an open question.

Bola.net - Saudara ipar Ryan Giggs menyatakan penyesalannya telah berselingkuh dengan bintang Manchester United tersebut.

Natasha Giggs mengatakan bahwa ia melakukan hal "bodoh" yang beresiko pada pernikahannya dengan Rhodri, kakak Giggs, untuk hubungan "intim" dengan sang bintang.

Natasha, 29 tahun, berharap Rhodri yang meninggalkannya karena perselingkuhan tersebut akan mengampuni dan menerimanya kembali.

Dia mengakui bahwa perselingkuhannya dengan pemain asal Wales berusia 38 tahun itu telah membuatnya merasa bersalah karena berselingkuh pada suaminya.

Natasha mengungkapkan perselingkuhannya dengan Giggs setelah pemain veteran United itu telah mengkhianati istrinya, Stacey, dengan berselingkuh dengan bintang televisi dan model Inggris, Imogen Thomas.

Natasha pertama kali bertemu dengan Giggs pada sebuah klub malam di Manchester pada Maret 2003, dan mulai berkencan dengan Rhodri -adik Giggs- dua bulan kemudian. Mereka menikah tahun lalu setelah lima tahun bertunangan. (sun/zul)

Manchester - Pemain veteran Manchester United, Ryan Giggs mengaku akan mengadakan pembicaraan mengenai kelanjutan kariernya. Belum kehilangan kenikmatan bersepakbola, Giggs mau bermain semusim lagi.

Giggs telah menghabiskan seluruh karierya bersama MU. Meski tak lagi menjadi pilihan pertama Sir Alex Ferguson, namun kontribusi terus diberikan oleh pemain yang kini berusia 38 tahun itu.

Beberapa hari lalu, Giggs mencetak gol pertamanya di musim ini ke kandang Fulham dalam laga yang dimenangi 'Setan Merah' 5-0 di Craven Cottage. Gol itu sekaligus mempertahanakan rekor Giggs sebagai pemain yang selalu mencetak gol di setiap musim sejak Premier League pertama kali diluncurkan pada 1992.

Kontrak pemilik julukan The Welsh Wizard akan habis pada akhir musim ini. Giggs masih menikmati bermain di level tertinggi dan mengadakan pembicaraan dengan Ferguson tentang masa depannya.

"Ini hampir waktunya ketika aku akan duduk dengan manajer dan melihat apa rencananya (di masa depan) dan aku akan melihat bagaimana perasaanku," ucap Giggs kepada situs resmi klub.

"Saat ini aku merasa sangat bagus dan aku menikmati segala hal lebih daripada sebelumnya, jadi kami akan menunggu dan melihat bagaimana akan terjadi," imbuh dia.

Giggs selama ini dikenal lewat perannya di sektor sayap kiri The Red Devils. Namun belakangan ia lebih sering diturunkan di tengah bersama dengan Michael Carrick. Ternyata bermain posisi ini Giggs merasa nyaman.

"Aku suka bermain disana. Aku mengaku itu mungkin posisi yang aku pilih sekarang," sambung Giggs. "Aku bilang di lain waktu itu adalah kesenangan buat ku dan Michael bermain di tengah ketika Anda mendapat pergerakan di depan Anda seperti saat bermain di Fulham."

"Itu membuat pekerjaan Anda lebih mudah ketika Anda mendapat tiga atau empat pemain berlari dengan hebat saat Anda menguasai bola," tuntasnya.

Manchester - Ryan Giggs menyebut, Manchester United telah menerima banyak kritikan atas berbagai kegagalan yang mereka terima musim ini. Ia juga menyebut, kegagalan dan kritik-kritik itu telah melecut 'Setan Merah'.

Kekalahan 1-6 dari Manchester City adalah salah satu kegagalan yang bisa jadi bakal membekas lama. Kekalahan dengan skor telak, dari rival sekota, dan terjadi di kandang sendiri, sudah cukup menggambarkan betapa terlukanya MU ketika itu.

Kegagalan lain datang ketika tim yang berisikan mayoritas pemain muda kalah dari Crystal Palace dan tersingkir dari Piala Liga Inggris. Lalu, datanglah kegagalan yang lebih besar: tersingkir dari Liga Champions setelah kalah dari Basel di matchday terakhir fase grup.

"JIka Anda kalah 1-6 dalam derby, disingkirkan tim divisi Championship di perempatfinal Piala Liga dan kalah dari Basel, yang bukan merupakan kekuatan besar di Eropa, Anda bisa mengerti jika kritik berdatangan," ujar Giggs seperti dilansir AFP.

Tiga hari setelah kegagalan di Liga Champions, MU tampil impresif di Old Trafford. Mereka sukses menyungkurkan Wolverhampton Wanderers dengan skor 4-1 dan performa bagus mereka masih berlanjut setelahnya.

Berturut-turut, Queens Park Rangers dan Fulham mereka kalahkan, masing-masing dengan skor 2-0 dan 5-0. MU bangkit tepat ketika Premier League memasuki masa padat pertandingan dan krusial. Mereka mencetak 11 gol dalam tiga laga terakhir dan hanya kebobolan satu gol.

"Namun, kami telah menunjukkan kegigihan dan determinasi untuk melakukan sesuatu setiap kali kegagalan itu terjadi. Itu adalah hasil-hasil yang buruk, tapi karakter tim ini telah menyelamatkan kami berkali-kali," tukasnya.

Senin (26/12/2011) waktu setempat, pada Boxing Day 2011, MU bakal menghadapi Wigan Athletic di Old Trafford. Menarik dinantikan, apakah laju si 'Setan Merah' masih kencang atau tidak.

Dua kekalahan beruntun di Liga Inggris atas Blackburn dan Newcastle tentu bukan sebuah pertanda baik untuk tim sekelas Manchester United. Krisis pemain karena faktor cedera merupakan masalah utama dari dua kekalahan tersebut. Khusus laga kontra Newcastle yang berakhir dengan skor 3-0, itu adalah untuk pertama kalinya di musim ini Setan Merah tidak mencetak satu gol pun dalam satu partai Liga Inggris.

"Laga kontra Manchester City di FA Cup jelas adalah laga yang besar. Atmosfer akan bagus, kami akan membawa harapan fans ke sana dan semoga kami bisa kembali ke jalur kemenangan," tambahnya.

Giggs yang berlaga 90 menit kontra Newcastle juga kesulitan menjelaskan kenapa timnya tampil begitu buruk saat menghadapi Newcastle seraya menambahkan bahwa hal itu juga bisa terjadi pada tim besar manapun.

"Anda bisa mengalami malam seperti itu, tak ada yang menyukainya dan tak ada yang menginginkannya, tapi ini bisa terjadi. Anda harus memberikan kredit pada Newcastle."

KOMPAS.com — Adik Ryan Giggs, Rhodri Giggs, akhirnya mengungkapkan isi hatinya karena dikhianati kakak dan istrinya. Bahkan, dia menyebut kakaknya, Ryan Giggs, sebagai ulat karena tega mengkhianati adik kandungnya sendiri.

Ia mengungkapkan isi hatinya itu kepada surat kabar Inggris, The Sun, Jumat (13/1/2012). Rhodri memang sedang terpukul dan sakit hati, pun patah hati. Sebab, istrinya, Natasha, ternyata berselingkuh dengan Ryan Giggs yang juga kakaknya. Perselingkuhan itu pun terjadi sangat lama. Bahkan, kabarnya Natasha sempat mengandung anak Ryan dan kemudian menggugurkannya.

Rhodri ternyata juga punya video (tak bisa ditampilkan di internet) tentang Ryan Giggs. Dia menyebut saudaranya yang juga bintang Manchester United itu memalukan.

Dengan menangis, Rhodri mengatakan, "Ryan adalah pemain sepak bola hebat. Tapi dia bukan apa-apa. Dia hanya 'seekor ulat', 'seekor musang'."

"Saya mengerti semua isi surat Natasha yang dikirim ibunya. Ia menceritakan semuanya. Ia sudah pergi dan saya sekarang mati rasa," ratap Rhodri.

Di depan kamera, Rhodri juga mengatakan, "Saya dulu selalu menilainya (Ryan) sebagai pribadi yang hebat. Namun, sekarang saya tahu, dia bukanlah seperti itu. Dia sangat memalukan."

VIVAbola - Kabar gembira datang dari Natasha Giggs, adik ipar Ryan Giggs. Wanita yang pernah menjalin cinta terlarang dengan bintang Manchester United itu, kini kembali ke pelukan suaminya, Rhodri Giggs.

Sejak perselingkuhan dengan Giggs terungkap pada awal 2011, Natasha harus menjalani sendiri hari-harinya tanpa Rhodri. Dengan penuh amarah, kala itu sang suami langsung meninggalkannya serta kedua anak mereka.

Beberapa waktu lalu, Natasha mengungkapkan penyesalan mendalam lantaran sudah mengkhianati Rhodri selama delapan tahun. Ia berharap bisa menata kembali kehidupan rumah tangganya dengan Rhodri.

“Perselingkuhan itu menjadi penyesalan terbesar dalam hidup saya. Saya tidak punya nyali mengatakan langsung kepada Rhodri. Jujur, saya berpikir dia pasti akan membunuh saya,” paparnya.

“Kini, dalam dunia ideal, kami akan bersama lagi dan menjadi keluarga bahagia lagi. Sangat penting mendapatkan kebahagiaan lebih dari sebelumnya,” tegas mantan bintang reality show Celebrity Big Brother ini.

Natasha memang lebih dulu mengenal Giggs, sejak Maret 2003 lalu, di sebuah klub malam di Manchester. Dua bulan kemudian, ia mulai berkencan dengan Rhodri dan berlanjut ke pertunangan, sebelum menikah pada Juni 2010.

MANCHESTER, KOMPAS.com — Ryan Giggs telah menandatangani perpanjangan kontrak satu tahun dengan Manchester United. Dengan perpanjangan ini, maka akan semakin terbuka kemungkinan bagi gelandang berusia 38 tahun ini untuk mencetak rekor bermain sebanyak 900 kali bersama "The Red Devils".

Sejak bergabung dengan MU pada tahun 1987, Giggs sudah bermain selama 22 musim bersama MU dan sampai kini dia sudah melakoni 898 pertandingan bersama pasukan Sir Alex Ferguson.

"Saya bangga karena 900 adalah pertandingan yang sangat banyak, terutama dengan klub yang telah saya dukung dan cintai begitu lama," kata Giggs seperti dilansir oleh ESPN Star.

"Ketika saya menandatangani kontrak pertama saya, saya tidak pernah berpikir saya akan bisa bermain di MU selama 22 tahun. Tapi, saya merasa baik dan saya tahu saya masih bisa memberikan kontribusi untuk MU meraih gelar juara," ujarnya kemudian seperti dikutip dari Goal.com.

Dia berharap bisa memenangkan gelar ke-19 bersama klub yang dicintainya itu. Menurutnya, kehidupan MU sudah mendarah daging dalam hidupnya.

"Klub ini tahu apa yang akan kami lakukan selanjutnya dan saya benar-benar senang bisa menjadi bagian dari MU," ungkapnya kemudian.

Giggs bergabung dengan United saat menginjak usia 14 tahun. Dia melakukan debutnya pada tahun 1990 setelah menandatangani kontrak profesional pertamanya. Sejak itu, dia mampu mencetak gol setiap tahun dalam kariernya.

Manajer MU, Sir Alex Ferguson, memuji penampilan Giggs selama bermain dengannya. Pelatih asal Skotlandia itu mengatakan, Giggs adalah seorang panutan pada setiap latihan dan pertandingan bagi pemain lainnya.

"Giggs adalah pemain yang luar biasa dalam banyak hal. Dia menjadi salah satu ikon bagi MU. Giggs: I almost quit

On the eve of his 900th Manchester United appearance, Ryan Giggs has revealed that a meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson dissuaded him from retiring at the end of last season following a stuttered start to the 2010/11 campaign.

The veteran, who hopes to become the first and only Red to join the nine-ton club against Ajax on Thursday, says a hamstring injury coupled with his advancing years meant he considered calling it a day last term, but admits the lure of pulling on the red shirt maintained his desire to continue.

"When to retire is difficult. Do you quit too early or go that one too many games and let people see you on the slide? It’s hard for me, even with my experience, not to play or be involved and last season was difficult before Christmas," the Welshman told The Telegraph during an exclusive interview.

"I didn’t play many games, I had a hamstring injury and had a chat with the gaffer, saying I was frustrated, but he said I would get my games. I was thinking maybe it could be my last season, but towards the end, I didn’t want the season to stop."

Giggs also expressed his immense pride towards reaching the 900-game landmark and explained why a move into central midfield has aided his longevity at Old Trafford. However, United’s leading appearance-maker admits the question of when to retire still plays on his mind.

"Retirement is just a decision that I have to take my time with because I feel different after each game. After the 3-3 game at Chelsea recently, it was a really hard game, but I felt brilliant afterwards. "Yet there have been other games when I haven’t felt so good. After the game at Arsenal, I didn’t feel so great, so it’s swings and roundabouts. You can’t decide after one game. It’s just something I really need to think about and take my time over.

"Moving into central midfield has definitely helped me. I had a taste of what it was like on the wing against Liverpool on Saturday and it’s just completely different – it’s a different game because you are up and down all the time.

"When I played on the wing, I would feel absolutely knackered after games. I obviously come off tired after games now, but not as tired as I used to be when I was a winger. Not many players get to 900 games, so to play at United for that amount of time and games is something to be proud of."

While Giggs has won almost everything in the game, one trophy that eludes him is the Europa League and, despite the obvious disappointment of this season’s early exit from the Champions League, the Welshman says he is desperate to add the competition to his vast medal collection.

"There is definitely a sense that it would be great to win because it is something I have never won. It was disappointing to go out of the Champions League, you never want to go out, but we’re out of it and there is nothing we can do about it, so let’s go and win the Europa League now."

Manchester United stalwart Ryan Giggs is hopeful he can reach a landmark 1000 games for the club before he retires.

Giggs has made 904 appearances for United since making his debut for the club 22 years ago, a club record that will take some beating. The 38-year-old has revealed he is not considering retiring any time soon, however - with a four-figure milestone firmly in his thinking.

The former Wales international has played 20 of United's 30 Premier League matches so far this season, and agreed a one-year contract extension at Old Trafford last month.

"It's nice to have played 900 games for Manchester United -- that's special," Giggs said, in a interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport. "But I don't look too far into the future - I just try and enjoy the moment and do my best.

"If it's to be 10 more games then so be it. If it's to be 100 more games then that would be great."

When asked what he plans to do when he does finally hang up his boots, Giggs acknowledged that he hoped to stay in the game in a coaching capacity - although he stopped short of suggesting he will look to manage the club he has represented for over two decades.

"At the moment I'm focused on playing but I will be involved in football afterwards," he said. "I've done my coaching badges and done all I can to prepare myself for life after football. "But to manage a team like Manchester United? [Pep] Guardiola's done it at Barcelona but even he was the coach of their 'B' team for a couple of years. He had a little bit of experience managing so we'll have to see.

"My goal when I was younger was to play for Manchester United just once. "But then after that you get greedy. You want to be in the team all the time. Then you want to score goals. Then you get really greedy - you want to win trophies and then you win more trophies.

"All these things have happened to me - I realised my dream and at 38 I'm still living my dream. You can't ask for much more."

With observers continuing to marvel at his fitness after so many years in the game, Giggs underlined how seriously he takes the job of keeping his body in peak condition - as well as the importance of adapting his style of play to cope with the things he can no longer do.

"Yoga has definitely helped me. It helps me with training because it gives me the flexibility and the strength to not only play games but train every day," he said. "I rarely miss a training session even if I do a little bit less than the younger players.

"You have to change your way of thinking. I was a quick player when I was younger but now I'm not as quick.

"So you have to use your intelligence and experience on the pitch to adapt your game and change your game - which I have done."

The Manchester derby on 30 April will decide the Premier League title race, according to United midfielder Ryan Giggs. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Welshman made his prediction of an all-or-nothing decider.

United lead City by three points with eight rounds remaining following their 1-0 win over Fulham last night. But crucially, City have a better goal difference and will be the hosts when the sides next meet.

"We have the experience, but City have the hunger," said Giggs. "If we both keeping going like this, everything will be decided in the derby."

Both sides would still have two games left after the fixture at the Etihad Stadium, including tricky away ties in the north-east.

As for his own career, Giggs is hoping to keep going for a while longer and wrack up 1,000 appearances for United. Last month he played his 900th game for the Red Devils against Norwich City, scoring an injury-time winner in the process.

Looking back over his career, mostly as a left-winger, the 38-year-old named former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon and Inter Milan's Javier Zanetti as the toughest opponents he has come up against.

Giggs said: "I faced Zanetti for the first time in the Champions League quarter-finals in 1999. He was the right-back and I was on the left. He impressed with his qualities: his speed, power, intelligence and expertise. I played against him on another two occasions and he was my most difficult opponent, a complete player."

But the Italian player who impressed Giggs the most was Juventus's Alessandro Del Piero. When Manchester United qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time since English clubs had been allowed back in Europe, I Bianconeri were the dominant force on the continent.

"The Juventus team of the 1990s was fantastic," said Giggs. "Del Piero is the best Italian player I've played against. We are the same age and I've followed his whole career."

Looking ahead to UEFA EURO 2012, Giggs risked upsetting some of his team-mates by saying he doesn't rate England's chances. Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney are all likely to be a part of the England squad, while Phil Jones, Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Michael Carrick and Chris Smalling are also in with a shout.

"Spain and Germany are the favourites, followed by France, Italy and Holland," said Giggs. "I can't see England winning, they still don't have a coach and Rooney is suspended for the first two games."

Recently there has been much talk of record-breaking Lionel Messi being the best player of all time, but Giggs reckons there is still something crucial missing from the Argentinian's trophy cabinet.

The former Wales international opined: "Without a doubt he's the best in the world today. He scores a lot, almost every week, and always plays to a high level.

"But [Diego] Maradona and Pele won the World Cup with Argentina and Brazil. When Messi wins a World Cup with his country, he'll step on to the podium."

Tanya: Dengan (enam) laga tersisa, apakah skuad dalam kondisi bagus untuk menghadapi tahap akhir persaingan (Premier League)?

Jawab: Tentu. Kami memiliki banyak pemain yang berada dalam bentuk permainan bagus dan kami memiliki jumlah pemain yang memadai sehingga manajer bisa merotasi pemain dan menjaga setiap pemain tetap segar. Kami mengalami sejumlah masalah musim ini. Sejumlah pemain kunci mengalami cedera, misalnya Nemanja Vidic dan Darren Fletcher, dan kami ditinggal (pensiun) Paul Scholes pada paruh pertama musim ini. Jadi, apresiasi harus ditujukan kepada pemain yang baru masuk dan bekerja dengan sangat baik membawa tim ke posisi sekarang ini.

Jika MU memenangi liga musim ini, seberapa besar artinya itu bagi Anda?

Itu akan sangat hebat. Ketika Anda melihat kekuatan finansial Manchester City untuk membeli pemain, cedera yang kami alami, perginya Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar, John O'Shea, Wes Brown. Dalam perjalanan satu musim, Anda membutuhkan momen-momen seperti itu jika ingin bersaing dan menjuarai liga. Momen seperti itu memberikan keyakinan dan mengangkat kepercayaan diri. Pertandingan di Norwich mungkin akan berubah menjadi salah satu dari pertandingan yang menentukan saat kita menengok ke belakang pada akhir musim.

Ada banyak pembicaraan tentang mind games dalam perebutan gelar juara. Apakah itu memengaruhi pemain?

Itu tidak berpengaruh bagiku. Ketika masuk lapangan, aku sepenuhnya berkonsentrasi pada performaku. Aku tidak berpikir soal apa yang pemain atau manajer lain katakan. Aku pikir, masalah mind games hanyalah sedikit kesenangan untuk media, yang suka mengekspos segala hal. Ini adalah bagian dari persaingan dan aku pikir, suporter juga menikmatinya. Sebagai pemain, Anda berusaha menjaga jarak dari hal-hal itu.

Seberapa besar perbedaan antara mengejar puncak klasemen dan duduk di puncak klasemen?

Pada tahap ini, kata kuncinya adalah momentum. Siapa pun yang memiliki momentum akan menjadi juara. Sebelumnya, kami mengejar tim lain dan melawan diri sendiri. Apa yang Anda cari adalah mencapai level terbaik pada saat yang tepat dan kemudian mendapat kekuatan dari hasil positif yang Anda dapat dan bergerak maju. Aku pikir, kami telah melakukan itu.

Giggs Ajak Setan Merah Bangkit

Ryan Giggs berusaha menyemangati rekan-rekan setimnya di Manchester United setelah kekalahan 1-2 dari Wigan Athletic, Rabu (11/4) lalu. Giggs menegaskan Setan Merah tak perlu kecewa terlalu lama dan harus cepat bangkit menatap laga selanjutnya.

Kekalahan tersebut memang membuat perebutan gelar juara kembali terbuka lebih lebar. Pasalnya, kini The Red Devils kembali berjarak lima poin dengan peringkat kedua, Manchester City. Padahal, sebelumnya United terbilang nyaman dengan jarak delapan poin dari rival sekotanya itu.

"Kami tak perlu terpuruk terlalu dalam. Hal ini terjadi agak sering pada musim ini, di mana kami tak bermain sebagus performa seharusnya. Yang terpenting, kami harus bisa pulih dari hal tersebut. Itulah yang harus kami lakukan kembali," ucap Giggs.

"Penting bagi kami untk meraih enam poin dalam dua laga selanjutnya. Kami bermain di Old Trafford, di kandang sendiri. Kami berharap bisa memenangkan keduanya dan tetap menjaga tekanan (kepada City). MANCHESTER – Mantan kapten Manchester United Gary Neville percaya mantan rekan setimnya Ryan Giggs akan bermain hingga usianya mencapai 40 tahun. Pada November nanti, Giggs akan genap berusia 39 tahun.

Giggs telah menandatangani perpanjangan satu tahun kontrak di Old Trafford. Dan Neville yang kini menjadi komentator di salah satu stasiun televisi yakin bahwa rekannya mungkin akan bermain hingga tiga atau empat tahun ke depan.

Ryan Giggs admits the Reds are “frustrated” at having let their advantage over Manchester City slip, but are determined to ensure they leave the Etihad on Monday night with the title still very much in their grasp.

Just over two weeks ago Sir Alex’s men were eight points clear of the Blues, but a change in fortunes for both clubs has seen the lead reduced to just three points. A win or a draw for United would ensure our title hopes remain in our hands, but victory for City would hand them the initiative because of their superior goal difference. Giggs, a veteran of 35 Manchester derbies, insists the players are well aware of what’s at stake and know they must perform to their best.

“We’re looking forward to the game more than anything,” he told ManUtd.com. “It’s been a long week building up to it and as a player you just want to get out onto that pitch and perform. We just can’t wait for Monday night to come.

“We’re under no illusions that it’s a tough game but it’ll be a tough game for City as well. They will be looking at it and fancying themselves to win just like ourselves because they’re a good team and they’re at home. But we’re Man United, we’re the champions and we’ll be trying to put a statement out that shows we deserve to win this league.”

Sir Alex has labelled the clash the “biggest derby in my time” and Giggs agrees that given its timing in the season and the positions both teams are in, there has never been another more important. But he says it’s vital the Reds do their utmost to block out the ever-increasing hype.

"We realise it’s a big game but as a United player you're used to that,” he added. “You’ve got toblock out the hype and what’s being said – that’s been going on all through the season. One day people say City are going to win the title and then it’s United… we’re used to that. I must admit it’s hard to block it out, but you’ve got to try and be professional and not let emotions get the better of you. Your job is to train well and be ready to go out there and perform when Monday comes.”

While a point would be good enough for United to stay in control at the Barclays Premier League summit, Giggs maintains that the Reds will not simply be going there to defend.

“We’ve got to go out there and try and win,” says the 38-year-old. “Obviously if there’s a few minutes to go and it’s all square we won’t be pushing six or seven players forward and we’ll probably try and get the draw! [Laughs]. But we’ve got to go and try to win it because if we just try to defend against a very good team we might come unstuck.

“We’re the two best teams , there’s no doubt about that,” he continues. “We’ve been the two most consistent teams over the season. The likes of Tottenham and Chelsea have fallen by the wayside but we’ve carried on going. City were on fire before Christmas and we were just trying to hang on really. We managed to do that and we’ve come into form in the second half of the season. But it’s come down to this now… we’re neck and neck and it’s about whoever puts in the performance on Monday night.”

"Saya menikmati 20 musim ini dan itu sebabnya saya masih bermain. Saya lebih menikmatinya dari tahun ke tahun. Saya ingin bermain sepanjang saya dapat menikmati dan terpilih masuk tim. Untuk saat ini saya merasa baik-baik saja," lanjut Giggs.

Tentang Ferguson, Giggs punya cerita tersendiri.

"Saya tahu Ferguson sejak saya berusia 13 tahun. Ia tahu nama saya dan orang tua saya, detail kecil yang mengesankan buat saya. Sentuhan pribadi yang membuatnya berbeda dengan orang lain," tutur Giggs.

Baginya, Fergie adalah orang berpengaruh dalam kehidupannya.

Kemenangan duo "The Red Devils" menyenangkan direktur klub, David Gill.
