Stoke unveil new Warrior kits for next season as boss Hughes gives thumbs up

Ready to fire. That's the message from Stoke after they became the first Premier League side to unveil their new kits for next season.

American brand Warrior replace adidas as the Potters' suppliers this summer and their new kit pays homage to city's 'potteries' history.

Traditional red and white stripes stay as the central theme on the home shirts, which have been engineered using Warrior's war-tech 'embedded technology', which works as an in-built temperature regulator.

The shirt is underpinned with a moisture wicking system which keeps the body dry by trapping moisture away from the skin and releasing it into the external atmosphere.

The iconic red and white stripes, modelled in the official unveil by Peter Crouch and Marko Arnautovic, have been applied using sublimation print, are combined with a four-way stretchable mesh to the sleeve cuff and underarm panel for extra ventilation.

The new blue away shirt, meanwhile, draws inspiration from various eras of the clubs past. The collared shirts of the 1940s are blended with the front panel sash of the 1970s.

Both have been given the seal of approval from manager Mark Hughes.

'Stoke City is known the world over for their red and white stripes and the one of the most important things for the fans is staying true to the heritage of their club,' he said.

'Warrior has done just that with the home kit and bringing back the sash on the away shirt that I’m told featured in the 1970s is a nice touch that I’m sure fans will appreciate.'

Stoke confirmed their Premier League status with a fantastic 4-1 win over Aston Villa on Sunday and captain Ryan Shawcross revealed he is looking forward to a fresh look for next season.

'The red and white kit is part of Stoke City’s identity,' he said.

'Not only does Warrior’s design look good it also feels and performs great from a player’s perspective.'

Stoke will become the second team to sport the Warrior logo next season alongside Liverpool, whose deal with the American brand is worth a staggering £25million.
