David Beckham has revealed he has named his MLS franchise Inter Miami.

Inter Miami also posted a short clip on Instagram, revealing what the club's badge will look like and they have stayed true to their roots.

They captioned the social media post: 'Four years ago, we dreamt of a soccer club. Today, we're proud to announce the official crest of that club.

The eye-catching design of the badge includes two great Herons - a bird local to Miami - whose legs appear to be interlocked on a striking pink and black background.

At the base of the crest are the Roman numerals MMXX, for the year 2020, in which the franchise will be launched and join the MLS.

Speaking following the highly anticipated announcement, Beckham said: 'This is such a proud day for myself and for the entire team.

'It's an honour to announce the new name and crest to our fans - we are taking another important step in establishing our Club and today marks an important moment in the history of Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami.

'Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami is a name that celebrates the incredible energy of one of the most exciting cities in the world - one that is diverse, passionate and ambitious - a city that has welcomed me and so many others, so warmly.

Beckham's MLS franchise revealed the design for their potential stadium back in July. The expected Inter Miami stadium will be part of 110 acres of permanent green space

'Our club will be a home for all – no matter where you are from or how you got here. This is just the beginning of our journey as we continue to build towards our first game in 2020.'

The former Manchester United midfielder's franchise are expected to play their football at Miami Freedom Park.

The stadium will be part of 110 acres of permanent green space. There will also be pitches over 23 acres for young players to play on — and they will be open to the public.

In a bold move, they have also said that there would not be any public money used in funding the stadium build.

Benefits to the area include up to $40million (£30m) of annual tax revenue, $20m (£15m) to the city and 11,000 jobs created over three years.

The construction of the stadium will be included on a referendum in the upcoming ballot in south Florida in November.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani could become David Beckham's first big signing at Inter Miami when his contract expires next summer.

Cavani has just one year remaining on his deal at the Parc des Princes and, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, is keen for a fresh start in America.

The report even claims the 32-year-old has already agreed a three-year deal with the club, who will play their first season in the MLS next year.

Miami have so far made just two signings, with Argentine youngsters Matias Pellegrini and Julian Carranza joining from Estudiantes and Banfield.

Beckham's side are keen to sign young players, but the club's sporting director, Paul McDonough, has admitted they also have their eye on some big name recruits.

'It's important for us that we found young, exciting attacking players that are on the upside of their career and have the potential to be really good players in this league,' he said.

'We will continue to build and add quality players that are the right fit for our club.

'We started with youth, but we know it's also important to have veteran players who come from both overseas and within the league to balance out the roster over time.'

Cavani has spent the last six seasons at PSG, having joined the club from Napoli in the summer of 2013. Last season he found the back of the net 22 times in 33 appearances in all competitions.

Oiya @zudomiriku; boleh percaya atau tidak, sekitar 1-2 bulan lalu saya sempat berkomunikai dengan divisi komunikasi Inter Miami melalui live chat dimana saya menanyakan kemungkinan untuk mendirikan official fans club di Indonesia dan mereka ternyata welcome banget untuk melebarkan sayap penggemar di Asia. Kalau mau serius sepertinya bisa tuh, demi bisa bertemu Beckham kalau Inter Miami ke Jakarta yang entah kapan hahahaha...

An environmental analysis shows the proposed site for David Beckham's Major League Soccer stadium in Miami is far more toxic than previously expected.

The Miami Herald reports the analysis found arsenic contamination reaching more than twice the legal limit, and surface-level soil samples containing hazardous debris at the Melreese golf course site, where people have played golf for more than 50 years.

The consultant's report says almost the entire site near Miami International Airport is contaminated by ash from a municipal incinerator shut down long ago.

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez said Monday night that team officials said the findings could increase cleanup costs to $50 million at the site.

The sprawling $1 billion commercial and stadium complex would serve as home to Beckham's MLS team, Inter Miami.

The club are currently in the process of recruiting players ahead of their debut season in MLS, which kicks off in 2020.

Miami have already signed two Argentinian youngsters, Matias Pellegrini and Julian Carranza, and are reportedly keen to make PSG striker Edinson Cavani their first marquee signing.

The club have already signed two players - Matias Pellegrini and Julian Carranza - as they continue to make additions ahead of their first MLS campaign next year.

Inter Miami have been linked to Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani and are now keen on former Liverpool striker Suarez, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Uruguay international, who has two years left remaining on his current deal at the Nou Camp, is reportedly interested in the Inter Miami project in the long term.

The 32-year-old has been hindered by injuries in the previous two campaigns and picked up another setback in Barcelona's first La Liga game of the season last weekend.

Suarez had to be substituted after injuring his calf as Ernesto Valverde's side lost 1-0 to Athletic Bilbao.

The club are yet to appoint a manager but former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes revealed he would consider taking charge of Inter Miami earlier this month.

'It is something which looks a really interesting project,' he told talkSPORT.

Beckham was given a headache this week after a report found Inter Miami's stadium site had twice the legal limit of arsenic contamination which could cost $50million (£41m) to clean up.
