Default Re: [2016/17] UEFA Europa League matches

Manchester United will be allocated only 10,000 tickets for their fans if they reach the Europa League final

* The Europa League final will be held at Stockholm's Friends Arena on May 24
* Both clubs who reach the final will be allocated 10,000 tickets each
* Only 37,000 of the 48,000 seat stadium will be sold, leaving 11,000 corporate

Manchester United will be handed just 10,000 tickets should they reach the Europa League final.

UEFA announced on Wednesday that the two clubs to make the Stockholm showpiece on May 24 will make up well under 50 per cent of the stadium's 48,000 capacity.

A further 17,000 stubs are available to anybody via the governing body's website.

Jose Mourinho's Man United will get only 10,000 tickets if they reach the Europa League final. The final will be played in Friends Arena in Solna, Stockholm, a municipality with a population of 60,000 people

That means sponsors and VIPs will get their hands on 11,000 at the Friends Arena in a move which has already sparked criticism.

The cheapest available ticket stands at €45 with the most expensive priced at €150.

The numbers will prompt allocation chaos at Old Trafford should Jose Mourinho's side progress that far in the competition.

United are often over-subscribed for away fixtures in the Premier League, with tickets distributed through a ballot.

They are favourites to move on to the quarter-finals when Rostov visit the North West on Thursday night after a 1-1 draw in Russia last week.

Mourinho has made it clear over the last fortnight that he is now prioritising the continent's secondary competition as United eye a Champions League return.

A second year without a seat at Europe's top table would significantly reduce their revenue, taking a considerable hit on their adidas kit contract.
