Football's gone selfie mad! Neymar and Kaka among Europe's biggest stars who can't stop snapping themselves ahead of Champions League extravaganza

The impending fortnight's feast of Champions League football appears to have seen the game go selfie mad over the last 24 hours.

A selection of European stars - plus a portion of the Barcelona team - have taken to their phones just to let supporters know what they're up to.

Andre Schurrle, an unused substitute during Chelsea's 2-0 FA Cup defeat at Manchester City over the weekend, was first to take a pic in a car on Sunday.

The Blues face Everton at the weekend before the opening knockout leg against Galatasaray on February 26.

'Tired' was the message to accompany the selfie, which perhaps doesn't bode well for Jose Mourinho's hectic schedule.

AC Milan playmaker Kaka was next up - amusingly painting a smile with tomato ketchup on a piece of bread.

The 31-year-old finally has something to grin about after Clarence Seedorf's side beat Bologna on Saturday thanks to a stunning Mario Balotelli winner four minutes from time.

Milan lie a lowly tenth in Serie A - a staggering 18 points behind Napoli, who occupy the final Champions League qualification spot. The only way in which they'll be playing in Europe's premier competition next season is if they win this year's, which seems unlikely.

Kaka and co host Atletico Madrid in the last 16 on Wednesday.

Then it was time for Neymar and his Barca team-mates to take over.

The Brazilian sensation scored the final goal in the 6-0 drubbing of Rayo Vallecano on Saturday and wished his instagram followers good day.

Neymar then posed for a more arty shot later on Sunday with a message about God before the Catalan side flew out to Manchester on Monday morning.

Before their flight, a selection of big names gathered for a group shot. They will train at the Etihad later on Monday ahead of the first leg against Manuel Pellegrini's side.
