Default Re: [EPL] Manchester United vs Liverpool

Manchester United fans 'plan ANOTHER protest' against under-pressure Glazer family, with supporters set to 'REFUSE to enter the stadium' for crunch Liverpool game later this month

* Manchester United fans are reportedly set to protest against their owners again
* Fans could refuse to enter the stadium for Man United's game against Liverpool
* Protestors have regularly made their desires for the Glazer family to leave clear
* Man United have built up £495.7million worth of debt with little to show for it

Several Manchester United fans are threatening to boycott the Red Devils' game against Liverpool next weekend in protest against the Glazer family, according to a new report.

The game will be United's next home game, and is the same fixture that was postponed last season after protestors stormed the Old Trafford pitch in May.

This season's game is unlikely to be at risk of postponement, but, according to The Times, several supporters will refuse to attend the game in an attempt to send another strong message to their under-pressure owners.

Despite the appointment of new manager Erik ten Hag at the start of the summer, United lost 2-1 to Brighton on the Premier League opening weekend and were completely outplayed at Old Trafford against Graham Potter's side.

The Glazer family have come under immense criticism from Manchester United fans. United fans have regularly made their desires for the family to leave heard at Old Trafford

Fans have criticised the Glazers for a lack of investment both on and off the pitch, while also bashing the family for poor signings and managerial decisions since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

The protest would see fans remain outside the stadium for the duration of the game and it has gained traction on social media, with '#EmptyOldTrafford' trending on Twitter on Wednesday.

More than 55,000 posts have reportedly been made dedicated to the event, which would be the latest in a series of vocal objections from United's disillusioned fanbase.

Banners have been held outside the ground in recent times protesting against the owners. United have built up £495.7million worth of debt with little to show for it on the pitch. The protestors are due to set up shop outside Old Trafford again when they face Liverpool

The Glazers took over United in 2005, but their most recent accounts showed a club debt of £495.7million with very little to show for it.

The planned protest is similar to that of Valencia, whose fans stood outside the Mestalla Stadium during their final match of last season in protest against unpopular owner Peter Lim.

United supporters have protested several times against the Galazers in the recent past, with acts ranging from the pitch invasions to walkouts during games.

Anti-Glazer chants can often be heard in the terraces at Old Trafford, and, despite co-chairman Joel Glazer's efforts to rebuild the relationship between the fans and the hierarchy, it seems it will be a while until everyone is on the same page at Old Trafford.
