Paris Saint-Germain are determined in their efforts to sign Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and are prepared to offer him a huge contract.
The defender who is touted as one of the best in his position in the world, has long been linked with a move to Manchester United.
It was previously reported that legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson had even held talks with the 28-year-old as he was keen for the Red Devils to secure a transfer for the Napoli man last summer.
However La Gazetta dello Sport, have reported that Paris Saint-Germain have shot up as favourites to sign Koulibaly.
They state that PSG director Leonardo has already held talks with his agent, and the club are willing to offer him a four-year £10.2 million contract.
Manchester United have been one of many top European clubs to be linked with the player on a list which also includes Manchester City and Real Madrid.

To date Napoli have been successful in retaining their man who they have placed a £100m price tag on.
However, Koulibaly has been looking for a move away from the San Paulo Stadium due to his displeasure over the sacking of former manager Carlo Ancelotti.
United were reportedly favourites to sign the player but PSG have appeared to have stolen a march on the club as they look to pull off a huge deal before the end of the January transfer window.
It has been a tough season for Koulibaly in Naples, with the club going through a major slump this season with problems both on and off the pitch.
The centre-back has been on the sidelines for the last month and missed Napoli's 2-0 home defeat to Fiorentina on Saturday, which leaves them languishing in 13th position in the Serie A.
Owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is also not happy with the defender's involvement in the mutiny that saw players skip a training camp after a Champions League game against Red Bull Salzburg at the start of November.
