Former Manchester United prodigy Ravel Morrison is training with newly-promoted Premier League side Sheffield United ahead of the coming season.

Morrison, 26, is without a club after leaving Swedish club Ostersunds and has joined up with Chris Wilder's side in order to work on his fitness levels.

Wilder, however, has suggested Morrison 'could be a good fit' for his side, fuelling talk of the player securing a permanent return to English football.

Ravel Morrison is training with newly-promoted Premier League side Sheffield United. Manager Chris Wilder has suggested Morrison could remain with the club if things work out

'We will talk and see how it goes,' said Wilder. 'It could be a good fit for both. We'll see how it goes.'

Morrison has joined the squad, who resumed at their Hallam FM Academy base this week and will also be heading to Portugal as part of their pre-season tour.

Morrison recently took to Instagram to post a picture of himself training with former United youth team-mate and close friend Jesse Lingard.

The creative midfielder was seen as one of the rising talents of the United youth system several years ago, after coming through alongside the likes of Lingard and Paul Pogba.

Issues off the field soon began to hamper Morrison's progress, with Sir Alex Ferguson allowing the player to leave after having made just three appearances for the club.

After leaving Old Trafford Morrison embarked on a rather nomadic career, with many believing he would fulfil his vast potential at some point down the line.

A spell with West Ham led to a series of loans with Birmingham, Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff.

A positive period in Serie A with Lazio was short lived before Morrison moved to Mexican side Atlas on loan and then tried his luck at Ostersunds - making just six appearances.
