Memphis Depay will be offered a contract extension at Lyon but the ultimate decision will lie with the player, as rumours swirl of a move away.
The Dutch winger moved to France in 2017 after a torrid two-year spell at Manchester United.
But he has reinvigorated his career in Ligue 1 and after recently being appointed captain, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas stated he will be offered an extension to his current contract which runs until 2021.
'We will make him a contract extension offer because he is an exceptional player,' Aulas told BeIN Sports.
'He will be the one who will ultimately decide. He is a sweet boy, an interesting man.'
Depay, who has scored 11 goals in all competitions so far this season, has recently been linked with a move back to the Premier League.
Liverpool, Tottenham and former club Manchester United - who are believed to have a buyback clause - have all been linked with the 25-year-old.

Reports detail that Lyon have set an asking price of £42million, should any interested parties want to pursue Depay in January.
He is an integral part of the Holland squad which qualified for Euro 2020 last month - their first major tournament since reaching the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup.
Depay featured from the start for 66 minutes in Tuesday night's 1-0 home defeat to Lille in Ligue 1.
