Default Re: Ex - United player News (Updated : Peterborough sack Darren Ferguson)

Louis Saha to be offered new Everton deal
23:00 10/11/09 - David Anderson

Louis Saha celebrates scoring the first goal of the game with Tim Cahill, Johnny Heitinga and Jack Rodwell

Louis Saha is set to be rewarded by Everton for his flying start to the season with a new contract.

Boss David Moyes is delighted with Saha's return of nine goals, his best start to a Premier League campaign, and will open talks after Christmas.

The former Manchester United striker's current pay-as-you-play deal expires at the end of the season and he has an option for another year.

But Moyes is keen to tie the Frenchman, who joined the Blues 14 months ago, to Goodison Park for longer than that and could offer him a two-and-a-half year deal.

After being blighted by injuries in recent years, Saha is reproducing the form which prompted Sir Alex Ferguson to sign him from Fulham in 2004.

Saha, 31, already has seven in the Premier League and is on course to top his best-ever haul of 13 for Fulham in 2003-04.
