Default Re: Borussia Dortmund - News & Rumors

Lewandowski to hire BODYGUARDS to protect him from irate Dortmund fans ahead of switch to rivals Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski is considering hiring personal security for the last few months of his Borussia Dortmund contract.

The forward is set to face the wrath of angry fans after he agreed to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich in the summer.

One of Lewandowski’s agents Maik Barthel told German paper Bild: 'Yes, we are seriously considering it.'

Security: Lewandowski is seriously considering hiring personal protection for his final spell at Dortmund

Since the announcement of his switch to Bayern, Dortmund supporters have shown ill will towards Lewandowski on social networks and in 2012, unknown perpetrators broke into his house in a small city close to Dortmund.

Lewandowski had announced his intention to quit the Westfalenstadion once his contract expires at the end of the season.

And the Bavarian giants confirmed they had reached an agreement with the Poland striker, who has put pen to paper on a five-year deal from July 1, 2014.

A statement on Bayern's Twitter feed said: '#FCBayern have signed Robert Lewandowski (25)! The striker has signed a 5-year contract until 2019.'

The 25-year-old becomes the second star to cross the divide in as many years after midfielder Mario Gotze.

He had been linked with a move to both Chelsea and Manchester United, but Bayern were reported to have closed the deal as early as last summer. Bundesliga leaders Bayern currently lie 12 points ahead of Dortmund who are fourth.
