Default Re: [2017/18] FA Cup

Manchester United's game against Yeovil moved to Friday night for TV broadcast as companies also select Tottenham and Liverpool games

* Manchester United were not shown on television for the game against Derby
* That ended a 13-year run of 58 straight televised FA Cup matches for United
* Picking the Yeovil game means their fans face a daunting nine-hour round trip
* Tottenham and Liverpool have both had their games moved on the Saturday

Manchester United's fans face a daunting nine-hour round trip on a Friday night after their FA Cup clash with Yeovil Town was selected for TV.

Jose Mourinho’s side will kick off the fourth-round weekend with their game against League Two opponents to be shown on BBC with a 7.55pm kick-off on January 26.

It comes after their win over Derby County in the last round was also held on a Friday night but not broadcast live, ending an extraordinary run of 58 televised Cup ties.

After the Friday night action, Saturday will then be dominated by BT Sport.

BT will show Peterborough United’s home game against Leicester City or Fleetwood Town with a 12.30pm kick-off, followed by Newport County v Tottenham Hotspur at 5.30pm.

They will then broadcast Liverpool v West Bromwich Albion on the night with a 7.45pm start – another long journey for Baggies supporters.

On the Sunday, BT will also show Newcastle United’s visit to either Chelsea or Norwich City at 1.30pm. BBC will then show Cardiff City or Mansfield Town v Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
