Premier League’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month for August.

A shortlist of four players who have stood
out has been drawn up based on their
performances were:

Curtis Davies (Hull City)
The Hull City captain has been a rock in
the heart of the Tigers defence as the
promoted club returned to the Premier
League to beat Leicester City, the
champions, on opening day, win away to
Swansea City and hold out against the
might of Manchester United until
stoppage time.
No player has made more than Curtis’s
21 interceptions this season and he
boasts 100% tackle success in the three
matches.

Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
The Belgian winger has been a key part
of the perfect start enjoyed by the Blues
this season. With two goals, including a
wonderful dribble and finish against
Burnley in Matchweek 3, Hazard has been
a constant threat for Chelsea’s
opponents this season. No player has
made more successful passes in the final
third of the pitch than the Belgian.

Raheem Sterling (Man City)
Revitalised by the arrival of Pep Guardiola
to Manchester City , Sterling has been a
key component among the Citizens’
varied attacking threats that have
brought three wins out of three. With two
goals, one assist and winning a penalty
for a goal in the opening-day match with
Sunderland, the winger has posed
opposing defences constant problems
this season.

Antonio Valencia (Man Utd)
Antonio Valencia is part of a Manchester
United defence who have conceded just
one goal from three matches, with two
clean sheets as part of their three wins,
but his danger to the opposing defences
has stood out, too.
Only one player has provided more
successful crosses this season than the
Ecuadorean’s five and no defender has
received more passes in the final third
than Valencia.

Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month

Antonio Conte (Chelsea)

Despite arriving at Stamford Bridge this
summer, the Chelsea head coach has
quickly hit the ground the running and
has chalked up three wins from the
opening three matches, including a hard-
fought, come-from-behind victory at Watford in Matchweek 2.

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)
Played 3 Won 3
A change of head coach has brought a
new philosophy at the Etihad Stadium but
the Manchester City players have bought
into Pep Guardiola’s ways quickly
bringing a maximum nine points from the
opening three matches, including an
enthralling victory at Stoke City in
Matchweek 2. No team have scored more
than City’s nine goals this season.

Jose Mourinho (Manchester
United)
Played 3 Won 3
That Manchester United boast the
meanest defence of the division so far,
with one goal conceded, is perhaps less
of a surprise with the arrival of Jose
Mourinho but only two teams have
scored more than their six goals to earn
three wins from three at Old Trafford as
the new man in charge looks to change
how the 13-times champions play.

Mike Phelan (Hull City)
Played 3 Won 2 Lost 1
After losing the manager that got them
promoted and with no new arrivals,
several senior departures and injuries to
key members of the squad few predicted
that Mike Phelan would be in contention
for an award after three matches. But the
Hull City manager channelled the spirit
that earned them a return to the Premier
League to guide his squad of limited
numbers to victory over Leicester City,
the champions, on the opening day, a 2-0
win away to Swansea City in Matchweek
2, and to within a few minutes of holding
Manchester United to a goalless draw at
the KCOM Stadium.

peringkat 4 championship league musim lalu plus pemain 'antah berantah' namun bisa di posisi 5 besar dengan mengalahkan juara bertahan di GW1 dan cuma kalah oleh 'fergie time goal'-nya rashford, ane rasa opa phelan pantas..

Cristhian Stuani has claimed the first Carling Goal of the Month award.

The Middlesbrough forward's sensational long-range strike that opened the scoring in Middlesbrough's 2-1 win at Sunderland beat a shortlist of eight goals after the votes of a panel of experts and the public, who voted via the Carling Tap and website, were combined.

Stuani was handed his award by team-mate Stewart Downing, who recalled a feeling of surprise when the goal flew in.

"My initial reaction was, 'Don't shoot from there'!" Downing said. "We were counter-attacking and we were overloading them. But it was an unbelievable strike.
"It could be a goal of the season, never mind goal of the month.

"It's his best for us. As soon as it left his foot, everyone knew where it was going."

The 2016/17 Premier League has many stellar managerial names but one manager of lesser fame has pipped the "big guns" to the first award of the season.

Hull City 's Mike Phelan has been named the Barclays Manager of the Month for August after he steered his promoted team to two wins in the opening three matches of the season.

After losing the manager, Steve Bruce, that got them promoted and with no new arrivals, several senior departures and injuries to key members of the squad, Phelan channelled the spirit that earned Hull an immediate return to the Premier League to guide his squad of limited numbers to victory over Leicester City , the champions, on the opening day, a 2-0 win away to Swansea City in Matchweek 2, and to within a few minutes of holding Manchester United to a goalless draw at the KCOM Stadium before Marcus Rashford's stoppage-time winner for the Red Devils.

"I am honoured," Phelan said. "It's an honour you don't expect, being caretaker manager. It's a credit to the football club and to the players for all their endeavours that have given me this achievement.

"It's been a turbulent summer. We had a small amount of players available to us but, to all intents and purposes, they stuck to their task really well and it has got us off to a decent start.

"The players needed some support; we have that now, to some degree. I think that the quality of the players brought into this football will lift the standard and we are hoping we can have a successful season."

The votes of a panel of experts and the public were combined to mean that Phelan beat a shortlist of Antonio Conte (Chelsea), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) and Jose Mourinho (Manchester United).

While it is Phelan's first such award, it is only the second time Hull's manager has claimed it. Phil Brown was named manager of the month for September 2008.

Raheem Sterling is hoping that winning the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award for August is only the start of Manchester City getting their hands on silverware this season.

The City winger won the award for the first time after votes from a panel of experts, Premier League captains and the public were combined (see: How the awards work ).

His performances of two goals, one assist and winning a penalty for a goal in the opening-day match with Sunderland, meant he emerged victorious from a shortlist of Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Antonio Valencia (Manchester United) and Curtis Davies (Hull City).

Sterling is hoping that City's 100% record will continue this season, with the Manchester derby tomorrow, and will result in team, not just individual, honours.
"I'm absolutely delighted to have won the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month Award for August," said Sterling. "As a club we've had a fantastic start to the Premier League season and to be recognised individually in this way is very pleasing.
"To receive personal awards is great, but it really is all about the team.
"We're only just at the beginning of the campaign and there is a long way to go, but I only hope that this is a sign of things to come and by the end of the season the team will be getting our hands on some silverware."
