Default [2013/2014] FA Cup

Arsenal will face arch-rivals Tottenham in FA Cup third round draw... while Man United host Premier League side Swansea

Arsenal have been drawn against north London rivals Tottenham in the FA Cup third round.

The game is the pick of the bunch, with other notable matches including last season's defeated finalists Manchester City travelling to Blackburn Rovers, Chelsea facing Derby away and Manchester United hosting Swansea.

Current cup holders Wigan will begin their defence of the trophy at home against Milton Keynes Dons.

The big one: Arsenal will face Tottenham at the Emirates in the best tie of the round

Jubilant: Wigan won the FA Cup last season against all odds by beating Man City in the final

Elsewhere, Liverpool will face either Oldham or Mansfield at Anfield, while West Brom v Crystal Palace, Newcastle v Cardiff and Norwich v Fulham are all Premier League clashes.

Oldham beat the Reds 3-2 in the fourth round last time and they will get another crack at Brendan Rodgers' men if they can overcome Mansfield in their second-round replay.

Liverpool also met Mansfield in the third round last season, with Luis Suarez's contentious second goal - when the Uruguay international handled the ball before scoring - earning his side a 2-1 win.

The last time Arsenal won any trophy was in the FA Cup, in 2005, but to do so again would mean beating their bitter rivals at the first hurdle.

Meanwhile, United might have been hoping for a more favourable cup draw following a hugely disappointing start to the defence of their league title which has seen them lose five times in 15 matches under new boss David Moyes, with their latest setback Saturday's 1-0 loss to Newcastle at Old Trafford. United have won the FA Cup 11 times, but the last time was back in 2004.

In other games, last season's semi-finalists Millwall are at Southend, Brighton welcome Reading, Bolton take on Blackpool, League One leaders Leyton Orient go to Yeovil, Rochdale face Leeds, Ipswich clash with Preston, Bristol City take on Watford, Doncaster face Stevenage and Plymouth go to Port Vale.

Also, Barnsley host Hartlepool or Coventry, Birmingham meet Bristol Rovers or Crawley while Bournemouth take on Fleetwood or Burton.

Kesempatan terakhir untuk Rio (mungkin) untuk angkat piala FA. Sangat berharap nanti United bisa juara piala FA 2013/14 mengingat prestasi di BPL. Bukan menyerah dgn BPL namun realistis saja, berharap masih tapi realistis saja.

Lawan Swansea yaa ??? Permainan Swansea musim ini gak secemerlang musim lalu deh. Musim ini permainan swansea naik turun, kalo MU di 4 pertandingan terkahir turun terus hAhahaha. So, Come On UNITED, siapa tau ini ajang yg masih realistis di believe kan oleh para fans untuk mendapat gelar musim ini.

Seandainya menang vs swansea..seandainya oh seandainya..
Maka lawan berikutnya tergolong relatif lebih mudah..birmingham, bristol atau crawley..
Sayangnya nasi udah jadi bubur..

Fixture pile-up worry for City and Arsenal who face FA Cup ties with Chelsea and Liverpool... just days before Bayern and Barca in Europe

The FA Cup handed horror draws to Arsenal and Manchester City smack in the middle of a season-defining month for the Barclays Premier League top two.

Arsenal must take on Liverpool at home just days before facing Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Manchester City fared little better. They entertain Chelsea in the last 16 of the cup, potentially just 48 hours before the mammoth task of taking on Barcelona in the Champions League.

Tottenham winger Andros Townsend and his father, Troy, made the draw which pairs the top four on television.

Adding to Arsene Wenger’s fixture pile-up next month, his side’s FA Cup game is preceded by difficult Premier League games against Liverpool and Manchester United. In all, Arsenal face six crucial matches in 20 days — and that is without a possible Cup replay.

Things do not get much better in March, with Arsenal facing the return leg against Bayern in Germany along with Tottenham, Chelsea and City in the space of 18 days. With the FA Cup games between the four Premier League giants bound to be picked by broadcasters BT Sport and ITV for live coverage on the weekend of February 15 and 16, Arsenal and City, in particular, could find their Champions League preparations severely jeopardised.

The two clubs will doubtless be arguing for Saturday kick-offs when fixture discussions begin on Monday. There could even be moves to stage one tie on the Friday evening as there was this weekend when Arsenal beat Coventry 4-0.

Like Arsenal, next month City face six matches in less than three weeks and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho wasted no time in piling the pressure on Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Chelsea sealed the signing of Basel’s Salah yesterday after Juan Mata completed his move to Manchester United on Saturday. They do not play Galatasaray in the Champions League until February 26 and Mourinho said of the meeting with City: ‘This is a good draw for us.

‘Our priority for the season is to improve and the best way to improve is with difficult things. Let’s play against the best team, twice in 15 days, in their stadium — the stadium where they win every game and smash every team and score four or five goals every game even against the big teams like Arsenal and Tottenham and Manchester United. It’s a good thing for us.

‘If we lose, we lose against the best. If we don’t lose, it’s fantastic. We are ready to go there and enjoy. We are going to go there with a good attitude, and nothing to lose. They have everything to lose. They are the team that was made to win. They have to feel now the same thing I was feeling here in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007: “We are the best team by far. We have to win. If we don’t, it’s because we did something wrong”.’

Still going strong: James McClean's winner for Wigan against Crystal Palace has set up a fifth round tie against Premier League Cardiff

Oscar’s stunning strike was enough to knock Mark Hughes’s Stoke out of the FA Cup, allowing Mourinho to enjoy a 51st birthday dinner with his family and friends.

‘One thing now is to have a dinner where I don’t have to pretend I am happy,’ he said. ‘It’s better to just have a dinner where I’m happy (after a win). But you want me to celebrate being 51 years old? Come on. The best thing is to be with my family and they’re happy.

‘It’s a bit of a contradiction because we played so well but won with a free-kick. Usually you win by scoring amazing goals in free play, and we had some fantastic play. The free-kick makes us happy because Oscar trains for that.

Replay: Hugo Rodallega's equaliser for Fulham against Sheffield United meant the game finished 1-1

‘It’s good to see a player who dedicates some minutes every day after training on a specific thing to score a beautiful goal like that. The boys played very well. We controlled the game from the first minute.’

Hughes confirmed he expects Kenwyne Jones’s swap deal with Cardiff striker Peter Odemwingie to be concluded today and said his focus is now on Stoke’s league game against Sunderland on Wednesday. ‘We’re pleased to get Peter in,’ Hughes said. ‘He’s a good Premier League player with experience at this level, a goal in him and a bit of pace, which we need to add to the squad.

‘I’m reasonably pleased with the performance. You’re never happy to go out of a cup competition, but we have a huge game on Wednesday night.’

Repeat? Everton's Ross Barkley helped his side beat Swansea at the Liberty Stadium in December

Kalo "para raksasa" sudah bertumbangan di babak ini, semakin besar kemungkinan juara FA tahun ini bukan dari Premiere League
