Re: [Merged]Manchester United - Transfer rumours 2009/2010
Man Utd regarded as favourites for Valencia ace Villa
-tribalfootball.com- Manchester United are a step closer to landing Valencia striker David Villa. The Daily Mail says Valencia will not be able to resist Manchester United's attempts to sign Villa, according to reports in Spain. The La Liga club will have to listen to offers for prized trio Villa, David Silva and Juan Mata in a bid to reduce debts of about £450million. Villa tops Sir Alex Ferguson's hit list, with United hoping £35m will be enough to lure the 27-year-old to Old Trafford. United, Chelsea and Manchester City were all interested in Villa in the summer, only to be told he would only consider leaving Valencia for Barcelona or Real Madrid. Spain's big two have since shelled out on alternative centre forwards and Villa no longer rules out playing outside of his homeland. |

Re: [Merged]Manchester United - Transfer rumours 2009/2010
United To Sign Villa, Kjaer, Dzeko, Suarez...
-manchesterunited.vitalfootball.co.uk- My goodness, the tabloids are doing their job, not just here but in Spain as well. Not one journo is prepared to listen to Fergie who made it clear that he would not overspend in January, even thugh United's performance levels leave a lot to be desired and he probably knows that. The most and least credible rumour prize both go to David Villa: Valencia publicly admitted that they are unlikely to hold onto him much longer amid the financial problems crippling their club, even though they are flying high in the league. The player himself backtracked from his earlier vow that he would stay in Spain and said that the important thing was for him to find the best possible club and that could be in England as well. Spanish papers (and the English ones as well) seem to believe that United are the favourites and actually there's a lot of sense in the story: Valencia need the money, Real and Barca went for other strikers, Villa is not against a move to England - why not? Well, firstly, he's 28 and we weren't supposed to pay significant money for players over 26. Secondly, Fergie is unlikely to make such a major move in January, simply unlikely. He would be a fantastic acquisition though. We are also interested, apparently, Palermo defender Simon Kjaer who is a great talent. With Rio's powers seemingly waning, he would be a fantastic signing as well but will Palermo part with him in January? No way but he's a realistic option for the summer. Ajax forward Luis Suarez's agent said he hadn't heard a word from United about their alleged desire to sign his client. The young South American has tremendous skills but regards staying on his feet with the same contempt as Didier Drogba. Cardiff full-back Adam Matthews will sign for Manchester United, that's for certain. Well, according to the papers it is, for Cardiff manager Dave Jones expressly denied that they had received any offers for the talented youngster. The Edin Dzeko saga is still there, with the player refusing to rule out a January transfer as Wolfsburg are struggling to recapture their title-winning form in the Bundesliga. However, the Bosnian forward explained it on numerous occasions that were he to leave Germany he would choose Italy, more specifically AC Milan. And the best one: Real Madrid schemer Guti (in my admittedly irrational and personal opinion, one of the most despisable footballers ever) is learning English which means he's on the brink of leaving Madrid for Manchester. A good laugh, this is. |

Re: [Merged]Manchester United - Transfer rumours 2009/2010
ALEX FERGUSON WANTS DAVID VILLA
-express.co.uk- MANCHESTER UNITED boss Sir Alex Ferguson is determined to win the scramble to sign £50million-rated Spanish striker David Villa, 27. Alex Ferguson, with most of the £80m from Cristiano Ronaldo’s sale to Real Madrid burning a hole in his pocket, is on alert after Valencia admitted they are seeking a replacement for David Villa. The Spanish side are heavily in debt and need to sell one of their assets. Midfielder david Silva, 23, is also a wanted man but it appears that Villa will be first out of the door. Valencia boss Unai Emery said: “The exit of Villa will depend on us identifying a suitable replacement.” Villa has been United’s top striking target ever since they lost out to Real Madrid over lyon’s Karim Benzema. The Spaniard had said he wanted to stay in Spain but he now fancies joining United. Despite Ferguson saying he isn’t likely to spend in the January transfer window, he will if he can capture the exciting Villa. |

Exclusive: Manchester United set to make shock move for Micah Richards
Published 23:00 29/11/09 By James Nursey Manchester United are ready to move for Micah Richards if rivals Man City finally lose patience with the defender. Richards, 21, has only started eight Premier League games for City this term under manager Mark Hughes. And the City hierarchy have become increasingly concerned by the defender’s erratic performances. City staff also have worries over the attitude of the former England starlet, who has 12 caps. Richards, who penned a lucrative five-and-a-half year contract with City in February 2008, has clashed with Hughes in the past. And if City decide to offload the versatile defender, then United are ready to bid for him. Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a huge admirer of Richards and tried to sign him when he first broke on the scene. Ferguson is considering his options at right-back with growing concerns about Gary Neville’s fitness and Rafael Da Silva’s ability. Ferguson believes his strict man-management could control Richards and United are hoping to do business if City will sell to them. Code:
