WILSON LOANED TO BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION

Manchester United striker James Wilson will spend the remainder of the 2015/16 campaign on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 19-year-old, who turns 20 on 1 December, has made just two first-team appearances this season - a start in the Capital One Cup defeat to Middlesbrough and a run-out from the bench in the league defeat at Arsenal last month.

Injuries have hampered his chances, while the impressive form of summer signing Anthony Martial has also limited his opportunities.

The Seagulls, who have not lost a league game all season, are currently riding high in the Championship and lie second in the table - Hull City are only above them by virtue of a better goal difference.

Wilson will hope to gain some valuable experience and playing time with Chris Hughton's side before returning to the Reds for the start of the 2016/17 season. Hughton is delighted to have brought Wilson in on loan and told the Seagulls' official website: "We have been keen to add a striker, and James has been our number one target for some time, so we are absolutely delighted to have completed the deal.

"He is an exciting young striker, and we hope that this move will prove to be very good for all parties involved. There was a huge amount of competition from rival clubs to sign James on loan and it has been another great team effort to secure his signature. I now hope he will help us maintain our excellent start to the season, and bring additional goals to the squad."

The England Under-21 international and United Academy graduate is highly regarded at Old Trafford and signed a new four-year deal, with an option to extend for a further year, with the Reds in September.

Louis van Gaal said of the forward at the time: “James is one of the brightest young English prospects and we are delighted he has signed a new contract. He is a very talented forward player and has a keen eye for goal. His development is continuing in the right direction and it is clear to see that he has a fine future ahead of him."

Gary Neville memberikan dukungan atas keputusan James Wilson meninggalkan Manchester United dan bergabung dengan Brighton. Neville yakin kepindahan ini bagus buat semua pihak.

Wilson bergabung dengan Brighton sebagai pemain pinjaman hingga musim berakhir. Striker berusia 19 tahun itu harus meninggalkan Setan Merah lantaran kerap duduk di bangku cadangan.

Musim ini Wilson baru dua kali diturunkan oleh manajer Louis Van Gaal. Oleh karena itu, Neville melihat Wilson lebih baik mengembangkan potensinya di klub lain ketimbang sering menjadi penghangat bangku cadangan di MU.

"Semua orang terkejut James Wilson pergi dengan status pinjaman. Mengapa? Dia tidak bermain dan butuh bermain reguler di usianya. Ini bagus buat dia dan Manchester United," kata Neville di akun Twitter-nya.

Brighton manager Chris Hughton is more than happy to capitalise on Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal's decision to send James Wilson out on loan.

Wilson was allowed to sign for the Seagulls on a season loan deal whilst Manchester United's toothless attack continues to lack bite after another draw on Saturday against West Ham.

Hughton, who saw Wilson's fine solo goal ignite a comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at home to Charlton at the weekend, believes the Champions League chasing United will miss Wilson.

'In the short term, maybe it's not so good for Manchester United, but in the long term it's better,' he said.

'It is part of the development of a player. I can imagine that fans are thinking that is ridiculous they have difficulties to score, but that is a short term thought.'

The 20-year-old found scarce opportunities under van Gaal but is relishing first-team football on the coast at Brighton.

Wilson was delighted to open his account for Brighton, who moved back top of the Championship on Saturday:

Wilson told The Argus: 'It was difficult with them going 2-0 up so early. Towards the end of the half we were just waiting for the break really to get some new ideas from the changing room and regroup at half-time.

'I think we did that well. We got the goal quite early, which was a great feeling for me on my starting debut, and we showed great character to go on and win the game.

'I could tell that in the changing room as soon as I walked into the club. The lads are all brilliant and they are all motivating each other. It's a brilliant club to come into and a great result today.'

Wilson sprinted and jinked past three players before scoring early in the second-half to provide the spark for the impressive comeback.

'They seemed to move out of the way. Even some of our players moved out the way,' added Wilson.

'I just turned on the edge of the box and everything opened up. I managed to get my shot away at the end and it went through the keeper's legs. It was a great feeling.'

West Ham United are considering an £11million move to sign out-of-favour Manchester United ace James Wilson during the summer window, Brentwood Gazette reports.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan with Championship side Brighton after struggling to hold down a regular role under manager Louis van Gaal despite limited options in attack.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is set to add a host of players into his squad if his side can finish the campaign with a spot in Europe.

They are currently sitting fifth on the Premier League table, a point away from Manchester City in fourth and three away from Arsenal in third.
Wilson could be interested in a possible switch to Upton Park given that United are expected to undergo a squad overhaul in the summer, a factor that could push him further down the pecking order.

Fulham have asked to take 20-year-old striker James Wilson on loan from Manchester United.

Wilson has been left out of Jose Mourinho's squad of the pre-season trip to China and is primed for another move away from Old Trafford as he looks to gain more experience.

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is at the front of the queue and wants to boost his forward ranks ahead of his first full season in charge at Craven Cottage.

Last season saw Wilson move to Brighton in November after failing to break through at United under Louis van Gaal. He made 27 appearances, scoring five times, on the south coast.

Mourinho, meanwhile, will focus on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford as his first-team strikers for his first season at United.

Jokanovic led Fulham to 3-0 friendly win over Brighton on Tuesday and also wrapped up a deal for Brentford goalkeeper David Button.

The 27-year-old stopper signed a three-year deal with an option of a further year before being unveiled on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, United defender Guillermo Varela is closing in on a loan move to Frankfurt.

Varela made 11 appearances last season but he does not feature in Mourinho's plans.
