Cristiano Ronaldo scored the perfect hat trick as Juventus smashed Cagliari on Sunday. Cristiano Ronaldo netted the 57th hat trick of his career in Juventus victory

The Juventus forward opened the scoring with a powerful header in the tenth minute

Ronaldo then doubled his tally with a goal from the penalty spot after winning the spot kick

The Portuguese star then finished his first half hat trick with a wonderful left-footed finish

Cristiano Ronaldo was handed a special shirt to celebrate breaking Pele's goalscoring record. Ronaldo took his tally to 770 goals after his hat-trick against Cagliari last weekend

namun sayang Juventus harus menelan kekalahan tipis dari Benevento dan makin tertinggal dari Inter Milan dipuncak klasemen, sepertinya harus melupakan scudetto musim ini

Cristiano Ronaldo's family 'support a move back to Sporting Lisbon when he leaves Juventus' amid reports he will quit the Italian giants to return to his boyhood club when his £27m-a-year contract expires next summer

* Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly return to Sporting Lisbon on a free next year
* Juventus want rid of the Portuguese forward after another frustrating season
* Ronaldo's huge wage demands mean very few clubs can afford to sign him
* His family are said to support his desire to return to his boyhood club next year

Cristiano Ronaldo's family are said to support his desire to move back to Sporting Lisbon next summer, amid reports he wants to return to his boyhood club when he leaves Juventus.

Ronaldo's future at the Italian side has been thrown into doubt after a frustrating season that has seen Juve finally lose their grip on Serie A and crash out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage.

It follows reports that Juventus are desperate to move Ronaldo, 36, on this summer so they can put his wages to use in rebuilding their struggling squad.

However, only a handful of European clubs can afford to sign Ronaldo because of his huge wage demands and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez recently ruled out a move for their club legend.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have also both been linked with Ronaldo but it is unclear whether or not they will be interested in signing the 36-year-old.

But reports in Italy on Monday claimed that Ronaldo is willing to see out his contract with Juventus, which expires next summer.

It will mean he can leave on a free transfer and have options to choose from when selecting his next club.

Italian TV channel Mediaset went on to report that once his deal in Turin expires, he will seek a move back to boyhood club Sporting Lisbon.

Now, Portuguese newspaper Record have published a front-page story that claims Ronaldo 'wants to end his career at Sporting'.

It also reveals that his family would be on board with the move back to Sporting. His mother, Dolores Aveiro, and the rest of Ronaldo's family are known to be huge Sporting supporters.

Ronaldo is extremely close to his family and had been staying with them in Madeira during last year's initial coronavirus lockdown.

Ronaldo and partner Georgina Rodriguez then moved to a more private location with their family, Cristiano Jnr, nine, twins Eva and Mateo, three, and Alana, two.

It is also claimed that Ronaldo's relationship with sportswear giant Nike could help Sporting bring him back to the club.

Ronaldo is reportedly paid £15m per year by Nike after signing a 10-year deal with them back in 2016.

Nike will replace Macron as Sporting's kit supplier from next season and it is hoped Ronaldo's ties with the company could be a factor in them winning the race for his signature.

Ronaldo came through the youth ranks at Sporting Lisbon after joining the club at the age of 12.

He went on to make 31 first-team appearances for the club before he left for Manchester United for £12.5million in 2003.

Sporting are currently top of Primeira Liga in Portugal, six points ahead of Porto with just four matches left to play.

Ronaldo's Juve contract expires in 2022 and he would surely be required to take a pay cut on his staggering £26.9m-a-year wage if he is to move back to Portugal.

He scored a late double to seal a crucial win for Andrea Pirlo's Juventus side in the race for Champions League football at Udinese on Sunday.

Victory saw Juve climb to third place in Serie A on 69 points, level with Atalanta in second and AC Milan in fourth, but two points ahead of fifth-placed Napoli.

Despite a poor season for Juve, Ronaldo is the top scorer in Serie A with 27 goals in 30 appearances. He is six clear of Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku.

Cristiano Ronaldo branches his hotel portfolio out to New York as Portugal superstar launches swish complex in Times Square... and you can stay there for £117 a night!

* Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the launch of a new hotel located in New York
* He has previously opened up hotels in Madeira, Lisbon and Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo has launched his latest hotel complex which is located in New York on Times Square.

The Portugal and Juventus superstar has previously launched hotels in Madeira, Lisbon and Madrid, with the latter opening up last month.

Ronaldo took to social media on Wednesday to reveal the Pestana CR7 hotel in midtown Manhattan, his first outside of Europe.

Portugal and Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has branched out his portfolio of hotels. Ronaldo confirmed that Pestana CR7 has opened up in New York on Times Square

In a message on Twitter he said: 'What a magical date - 07.07 to introduce you to my new hotel @PestanaCR7 Times Square, in New York.

'Book now and discover the coolest new hotel in the best location in town.'

As per the hotel's official website, people can stay at the hotel for £117 a night with discounts on offer for Pestana guest club members.

Ronaldo's new complex is described as a cosmopolitan hotel which is 'faithful to a sophisticated, vibrant and ever-connected sporty lifestyle'.

Pestana's website says it is 'the ideal starting point for those who don't want to miss out on the action of the city'.

Ronaldo has taken some inspiration from home, as the guest rooms are influenced by the colours and art of Portugal.

All rooms are equipped with Espresso makers, refrigerators, USB ports, HD-TV and Wi-Fi.

The restaurant offers international dishes and Portuguese snacks, while there are also multiple screens to watch sports on.

There is also a fitness centre and event rooms for business meetings to take place in.

The 36-year-old has been pumping up his hotel portfolio in recent times, first opening two hotels in Portugal and then one in Madrid.

He also planning to open up a luxury hotel in Manchester near Piccadilly Gardens in 2023.

It comes as no surprise with Ronaldo opening up hotels in Lisbon and Madrid, where he had spells in both cities for Sporting Lisbon and Real Madrid.

Ronaldo left Sporting Lisbon in 2003 for Manchester United and spent six years there before leaving to join Real Madrid for a then world record £80m transfer fee.

Manchester United CONFIRM Cristiano Ronaldo is re-signing from Juventus in £19.4m deal, hours after he looked set for rivals City, after calls from Sir Alex Ferguson and Rio Ferdinand

* Cristiano Ronaldo will return to Manchester United on a two-year deal
* The sensational transfer was confirmed on Friday as the player took a medical
* Ronaldo had appeared to be on the cusp of signing for United's bitter rivals City
* Solskjaer said Bruno Fernandes had been talking to Ronaldo about his future

Cristiano Ronaldo has now sealed a sensational return to Manchester United, as cross-town rivals Manchester City backed away from signing the superstar.

His old mentor Sir Alex Ferguson contacted and helped sway Ronaldo after United had began pushing to re-sign the icon on Thursday night. At that stage it was clear City were in talks with the player after he had told Juventus he was leaving the club.

The 36-year-old’s move back to Old Trafford was dramatically confirmed on Friday just two and a half hours after City made it clear that the Etihad Stadium would not be the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s next destination. United tweeted: ‘Welcome home, Cristiano.’

They have agreed to pay an initial £12.8million and almost £7m in add-ons, while Ronaldo — excited by the talent Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has within his squad — is expected to sign a two-year contract.

Ronaldo, Serie A’s top scorer last season at Juventus, is in Lisbon where he will have a medical to rejoin the club he left 12 years ago when Real Madrid parted with a then world-record £80m.

City had been offered Ronaldo by his agent, Jorge Mendes, during their failed pursuit of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

City had viewedPep Guardiola wanted a new striker but, with the deadline looming on Tuesday, City are unlikely to sign one until next summer.

Solskjaer was bullish yesterday before the signing was announced, saying: ‘I didn’t think Cristiano was going to leave Juventus. We’ve always had a good communication.

'I know Bruno (Fernandes) has been talking to him as well. He knows what we feel about him. If he was ever going to move away from Juventus, he knows we’re here.’

Ronaldo’s first game could be at home to Newcastle on September 11.

Friday’s developments evoked memories of United swooping for Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January 2018 when City had appeared ready to capture the Chilean — only to later balk at the finances.

a deal with scepticism all week, indicating an unwillingness to pay a fee to Juventus while also expecting the forward to take a significant reduction in his £500,000-a-week wages.

And Ronaldo is now on the cusp of sealing a dramatic return to United on a two-year deal

Ronaldo and Solskjaer were team-mates at United during the Portugal star's time at the club. Solskjaer said that he is open to new additions at United before the transfer window shuts

Guardiola cast doubt over the potential of Ronaldo ending up at City minutes after Solskjaer talked up the prospect of United doing a deal.

‘I’m more than delighted with the squad we have and my feeling is we will stay the same,’ said Guardiola. ‘Cristiano will decide where he wants to play.’

United’s players had been frustrated that the club had not moved for Ronaldo before Fernandes spoke to his Portugal team-mate on Thursday. Ferguson’s involvement was also crucial.

Solskjaer has spent heavily this summer, with Ronaldo joining Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane to take their spending over £130m.

United may look to balance the books in the final days of the window, with Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard potentially departing. Paris Saint-Germain could look at Martial if Kylian Mbappe secures his exit to Real Madrid.

‘Sir Alex would’ve hated to see Cristiano in a Man City shirt, just like any other person that’s been connected for a long period of time with this club,’ former United defender Rio Ferdinand told BBC Radio 5 Live.

‘I rang him (Cristiano). I was like all the fans, saying, “Please tell me you’re not going there”.’

Benjamin Mendy was remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The 27-year-old is alleged to have attacked three women, one under the age of 18, between October last year and this month at his home in Prestbury.

Mendy’s case was sent to Chester Crown Court, where he will appear on September 10.

Cristiano Ronaldo COULD still wear the No 7 shirt following his Man United return... but only if Edinson Cavani LEAVES or Premier League grant Red Devils special dispensation to allow number switch

* Cristiano Ronaldo could still wear the No 7 shirt for Man United this season
* The Portuguese made his name at Old Trafford where he wore the No 7 shirt
* However, the shirt is currently occupied by veteran striker Edinson Cavani
* Cavani will have to leave, or the Premier League must grant special allowance

Cristiano Ronaldo could still claim the iconic No 7 shirt at Manchester United after sealing his sensational return to the club on Friday, but only if Edinson Cavani leaves or the club are granted special dispensation.

After a whirlwind 24 hours in which the 36-year-old appeared set to join arch rivals Man City, Ronaldo has instead returned to Old Trafford with the Red Devils confirming the sensational £21.4million deal on Friday afternoon.

The Portuguese's Old Trafford return provides a huge boost to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has enjoyed a good summer window having already landed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane for a combined £115.5million.

Cristiano Ronaldo could still reclaim the No 7 shirt following his return to Manchester United

Ronaldo made his name in Manchester from 2003 to 2009, scoring 118 goals in 292 games for the Red Devils before sealing a £80m move to Real Madrid.

The Portuguese wore the club's famous No 7 shirt, the same number worn by club legends such as George Best, Eric Cantona and David Beckham.

And following his return to the club, there is still uncertainty over whether Ronaldo will be handed his old shirt for his second stint at United.

The No 7 shirt is currently occupied by Cavani, who held onto the number after Sancho's arrival, with the Englishman having to settle for the No 25 instead.

Ronaldo made his name at Old Trafford and lived up to the famous No 7 shirt for the club. However, his former number is currently occupied by veteran striker Edinson Cavani. Cavani would either have to leave the club or the Premier League grant special dispensation

And the only way Ronaldo can reclaim the shirt is if Cavani - who signed a contract extension earlier this year - leaves the club, or if the Premier League grants special dispensation to allow the switch.

Such an allowance has never been made before so will be a first in Premier League history, as reported by Dale Johnson.

The Uruguayan was given an extended break this summer by Solskjaer, meaning that he is yet to feature in the first two league games of the season. That means that there is still time for United to give Ronaldo the No 7 if they so desire.

If Cavani retains the shirt, Ronaldo may be tempted to take the vacant No 28 shirt, the number he wore when he started out at Sporting Lisbon in Portugal.

Ronaldo also wore the No 9 shirt when he first moved to Madrid as club legend Raul occupied that shirt at the time. United striker Anthony Martial is the club's current No 9.

Phil Jones reportedly opted not to give up his No 4 shirt for Varane upon his arrival, and it remains to be seen what stance Cavani will take if United make a similar request for Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is understood to have penned a two-year deal worth £480,000-per-week with United and will undergo his medical in Lisbon before the move is complete.

'Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical,' the club said in an official statement.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals Cristiano Ronaldo is determined to show he's better than ever with Manchester United return: 'He will bring something completely different'

* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that Cristiano Ronaldo still has a point to prove
* Solskjaer believes Ronaldo will be eager to dismiss claims that he is too old
* The Manchester United boss says Ronaldo's return will add 'something different'

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned Manchester United’s rivals that Cristiano Ronaldo is on a ‘personal’ mission to prove he is still the best.

United set a Premier League record of 28 straight unbeaten matches away from home as Mason Greenwood’s late winner secured a 1-0 win at Wolves, with the travelling supporters serenading their returning hero throughout the match.

Ronaldo, 36, is in Lisbon preparing for World Cup qualifiers for Portugal but he is expected to complete the formalities on his £19.4million move from Juventus in the coming days, with Solskjaer hoping Ronaldo can make his second debut against Newcastle at Old Trafford on September 11, after the international break.

‘Hopefully we can get the paperwork sorted and announce it,’ said Solskjaer (below). ‘He is a great player, a great human being. I’m excited to keep building this squad. He will bring something completely different.

‘Let’s get him back to United after the break and hopefully he’ll be involved as soon as possible. He will make us a better team.

‘Hopefully Cristiano can come in and show what he has done in his career. I am sure he likes all the talk about being old. Make it personal and he will show what he can do.’

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Cristiano Ronaldo is determined to prove that he's better than ever. Solskjaer was full of praise for Ronaldo and says he will bring something different to United. United midfielder Paul Pogba described Ronaldo as a 'legend' and praised his mentality

Ronaldo’s imminent arrival was greeted with similar enthusiasm by two players who will soon be his team-mates — Paul Pogba and David de Gea.

The superstar had a glittering spell at Old Trafford from 2003-09, before joining Real Madrid and becoming one of the greatest players in the history of the game.

His comeback increases the pressure on Solskjaer to deliver the first major trophy of his spell as boss but for the moment the Ronaldo deal has spread joy throughout the squad.

De Gea made a brilliant double save in the second half to deny Romain Saiss and the Spaniard cannot wait to be reunited with Ronaldo. He said: ‘It’s a dream for all the United fans to have him back. Hopefully he can bring something special to make the team even better.’

Pogba added: ‘Everybody knows that he’s already a legend in this club. It’s good for us. He will bring his experience and quality.

‘When he comes, the level comes up. The most important thing today was the win so when he comes we keep this mentality of winning.’

Though not a transfer with the profile of the Ronaldo move, Wolves have made their own swoop in the market, signing forward Hwang Hee-chan on a season’s loan with an option to buy from RB Leipzig.

After three successive defeats — all of them unfortunate — Wolves boss Bruno Lage sent a clear message to his board ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline. He was also coy on the future of winger Adama Traore, who produced another impressive display against United and is wanted by his old boss Nuno Espirito Santo, now in charge of Spurs.

‘Adama’s future is not a question for me,’ said Lage. ‘He is happy, working hard. He is happy at Wolves and I am very happy with him. We need more players before the window closes.’

Cristiano Ronaldo completes his Manchester United medical in Lisbon and agrees terms on a two-year deal with an option for a third season to play until he's 39, as he inches closer to sealing his sensational return to Old Trafford

* Cristiano Ronaldo's United medical was carried out in Lisbon over the weekend
* The Portugal star is closing in on completing his move back to Old Trafford
* He is set to sign a two-year contract with an option for a further season

Cristiano Ronaldo's sensational return to Manchester United has moved a step closer after he completed his medical in Lisbon over the weekend.

Terms have been agreed on a two-year deal and, according to Sky Sports, United have also inserted a clause to extend the contract for a further season. They will pay around £20million to Juventus.

The final touches are being put on visa details before Ronaldo's move to United is officially done and the Old Trafford outfit can unveil the Portugal star ahead of his second spell at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo is on the brink of completing his move to Manchester United from Juventus; he is set to sign a two-year deal back at former club United with an option for another season

Ronaldo is expected to have agreed terms on a £480,000-a-week deal at United, which will make him the Premier League's highest-paid player. He could make his second United debut on September 11 against Newcastle at Old Trafford.

A three-year spell at United would see Ronaldo comfortably become the oldest player in the league. At present, that honour belongs to Chelsea defender Thiago Silva at 36 years, 11 months and five days.

Ronaldo is currently 36 years, six months and 11 days old, so when he joins he will be behind Silva at Chelsea.

And his return will complete a whirlwind week. As recently as Friday morning Ronaldo looked set to join United's fierce rivals City and play under Pep Guardiola.

But United made contact with Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, while club legends such as Sir Alex Ferguson and Rio Ferdinand made contact with Ronaldo himself to try and dissuade him from joining the blue half of Manchester.

Speaking prior to United's 1-0 win over Wolves on Sunday, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer backed Ronaldo to elevate the team to a new level.

'Hopefully we can get the paperwork sorted and announce it,' said Solskjaer. 'He is a great player, a great human being. I'm excited to keep building this squad. He will bring something completely different.

'Let's get him back to United after the break and hopefully he'll be involved as soon as possible. He will make us a better team.

'Hopefully Cristiano can come in and show what he has done in his career. I am sure he likes all the talk about being old. Make it personal and he will show what he can do.'

United fans paraded a cardboard cut out of Ronaldo at Molineux on Sunday afternoon. United fans have hailed Bruno Fernandes for helping persuade Ronaldo to re-sign

United defeated Wolves thanks to an 80th-minute strike from Mason Greenwood but the display itself was patchy from Solskjaer's men, particularly in the first half.

'They look like they've had a European game, they've been away in Russia somewhere, got back late, early Thursday morning and they can't get going,' Roy Keane said on Sky Sports.

'My only worry, I hope Ronaldo is not watching because he'll be pulling out of the deal. Really not good enough.'

But there was a jubilant mood among the travelling United supporters at Molineux, with fans parading a cardboard cut-out of Ronaldo ahead of his impending return.

There was also a banner hailing 'Super Bruno' after Solskjaer said Bruno Fernandes had been onto Ronaldo to discuss his potential availability last week.

Default Re: Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United 'had NO INTEREST in signing Cristiano Ronaldo' this summer, but moved to buy him at the 11th hour because they 'couldn't bear the prospect of him playing for City'

* Cristiano Ronaldo has completed a medical ahead of his Man United return
* The forward's representatives were in advanced talks with Man City last week
* United were said to be content with re-signing Cavani and bringing in Sancho
* But that all reportedly changed when it appeared Ronaldo was destined for City

Manchester United had no intention of signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer but made a late move for him because they could not bear the thought of him playing for Man City, according to reports.

The 36-year-old edged a step closer to completing his sensational return to Old Trafford from Juventus at the weekend after undergoing a medical in Lisbon.

It is the latest development in what has been a whirlwind week for the Portugal star, which began with his representatives entering into advanced talks with the Premier League champions.

Manchester Evening News report as of Friday morning, City were the only club interested in signing the former Real Madrid star.

United appeared content with their attacking options having tied Edinson Cavani down to a new deal and signed Jadon Sancho for £73million from Borussia Dortmund.

But the report adds Old Trafford players and chiefs then whirred into action when it appeared the Portuguese was all set for a move to the Etihad Stadium, with the club unable to deal with the fact he could end up at their rivals.

Current midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Ronaldo's former team-mates Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and Darren Fletcher texted him after he had spoken with former boss Sir Alex Ferguson about returning to the club.

Manchester United had no initial intention of re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus this summer. They reportedly made their move because they could not bare the prospect of him playing under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, reports claim. United were said to be content with their forward options after re-signing Edinson Cavani and bringing in Jadon Sancho. But the United hierarchy made their move once it appeared Ronaldo was all set to move to City. The Glazers gave the move the go-ahead, believing it could get supporters back on their side

And the same outlet adds once Ronaldo was informed of United's reported two-year contract offer - which will see him earn an eyewatering £480,000 per week - he ended any interest in joining the blue half of Manchester.

The report also claims the move was given the go-ahead by the club's Glazer owners, who views Ronaldo's return as a way of getting the fans back on their side, having feared the repercussions if he had ended up signing for Pep Guardiola's men.

Terms have been agreed on between Ronaldo and United, according to Sky Sports, and the club have also inserted a clause to extend the contract for a further season. They will pay around £20m to Juventus.

The final touches are being put on visa details before Ronaldo's move to United is officially done and the Old Trafford outfit can unveil the Portugal star ahead of his second spell at Old Trafford.

Wages of nearly £500,000 per week will comfortably make him the Premier League's highest-paid player, but the Old Trafford faithful will have to wait until at least September 11 for the Portuguese to make his second club debut.
