Ferguson refuses to speak to media for a month

Sir Alex Ferguson has started a self-imposed media ban that could last a month in protest at the interpretation of his comments about Fernando Torres last month.

Don't expect Sir Alex Ferguson to front a microphone any time soon

Following Manchester United's 3-2 victory over Liverpool in which Torres won a free kick that led to Liverpool's second goal, Ferguson said the striker had "made an absolute meal" of contact from John O'Shea, saying there was "no doubt he tried to get the player sent off".

Some sections of the media used the word "cheat" in reporting Ferguson's accusations against the Liverpool striker, but that has angered the United boss, who feels that term did not reflect his views. In just the latest of a long history of poor relations between Ferguson and the media, he cancelled Friday's pre-match press conference for Saturday's trip to Sunderland and isn't expected to speak publicly for a month.

Wah berita td pagi bener2 lebih parah, padahal Trans7 yg saya anggap terpercaya...
Editornya salah kaprah atau gak ngerti, masa iya CHEAT disamain ama Penghianat...

Usai 7 Tahun, Fergie Berdamai dengan BBC

Manchester, detiksport - Manajer Manchester United Sir Alex Ferguson akhirnya mengakhiri boikot wawancara dengan BBC, yang mana sudah berjalan tujuh tahun.

Fergie tidak lagi mau berbicara kepada BBC, baik televisi maupun radio, sejak 2004 menyusul sebuah tayangan program BBC mengenai Jason, putra Fergie, yang saat itu berprofesi sebagai agen pemain.

Kini boikot yang dilakukan Fergie terhadap BBC resmi berakhir, setelah kedua kubu melakukan pertemuan dan bersepakat untuk mengubur masalah di masa lalu.

"Sir Alex Ferguson dan BBC sudah memutuskan untuk meninggalkan masalah-masalah yang sebelumnya membuat Sir Alex merasa tak bisa tampil di program-program BBC," jelas sebuah pernyataan yang dikutip Reuters.

"Ini terjadi setelah sebuah pertemuan antara Sir Alex dan Direktur Umum BBC Mark Thompson dan Direktur BBC North Peter Salmon, dan masalah yang ada sudah beres dan memuaskan kedua belah pihak," lanjut keterangan itu.

Tidak ada alasan yang dipaparkan kenapa Fergie kini akhirnya melunak dan berdamai dengan BBC setelah sekian tahun.
