Manchester - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer menjalani start luar biasa bersama Manchester United. Di balik rentetan kemenangan yang diraih, kabarnya Sir Alex Ferguson punya banyak peran.

Keunggulan 1-0 yang diraih dalam lawatan ke Tottenham Hotspur menjadi kemenangan keenam yang didapat Manchester United secara beruntun. MU yang terseok saat bersama Jose Mourinho, kini begitu perkasa di tangan Solskjaer.

Solskjaer disebut-sebut berhasil mengembalikan filosofi permainan MU untuk main menyerang, cepat, dan atraktif. Sebagaimana mereka pernah sangat perkasa di bawah Sir Alex Ferguson.

Terkait Sir Alex, manajer legendaris itu kabarnya memang punya peran besar dalam kebangkitan MU sejak akhir Desember. The Sun menyebut Ferguson ikut memilih starting line up, termasuk untuk laga di Wembley.

Sejak Solskjaer jadi manajer interim, Ferguson sudah dua kali mengunjungi pusat latihan MU yang terletak di Carrington. Masih dikutip dari The Sun, Ferguson juga kerap bertukar pikiran dengan Solskjaer dan memberikan analisanya terhadap apa yang dibutuhkan The Red Devils.

Apalagi Solskjaer kini didukung oleh Mike Phelan, yang merupakan orang nomor satu Ferguson saat masih menjadi manajer dalam selang waktu 2008 sampai 2013.

"Saya bersama dia selama 15 tahun. Tentu saja dia memberi pengaruh lebih besar ke saya dalam 15 tahun itu dibanding apa yang dia lakukan pekan lalu. Tapi saya tetap memberinya informasi," ucap Solskjaer soal hubungan dengan dengan Ferguson.

"Dia mendatangi kami. Dia menikmati waktunya saat datang ke tempat latihan, kami berbicara dengannya dan juga dengan staf dan dia mendorong kami," lanjut pria asal Norwegia berusia 45 tahun itu.

Di akhir pekan lalu saat main di London, Solskjaer juga mengembalikan kebiasaan yang pernah dilakukan Ferguson. Dia memerintahkan penggawa MU memakai setelan jas klub, tidak lagi memakai pakaian training.

Manchester United's players and coaching staff want caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be given the job on a full-time basis.

The squad has been reinvigorated under Solskjaer, winning all six games since the 45-year-old arrived on loan from Molde last month to replace Jose Mourinho.

Sportsmail understands the coaching staff also want Solskjaer’s position to be made permanent at the end of the season after seeing the mood around Old Trafford transformed.

Despite being appointed to the first-team coaching staff this season, Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna are said to have felt marginalised towards the end of Mourinho’s reign as he surrounded himself closely with his Portuguese backroom team.

Carrick and McKenna were even excluded from briefings Mourinho had with his coaches before key games as he headed for the sack.

Both coaches feel more comfortable under Solskjaer, who has been joined by Sir Alex Ferguson’s former No 2 Mike Phelan and also brought in his own long-time assistant Mark Dempsey.

The solidarity among United’s coaching staff was evident by the enthusiastic celebrations at Wembley on Sunday after Paul Pogba set up Marcus Rashford for the winning goal against Tottenham with a brilliant pass.

It was a tactic United had worked on to exploit the space behind Tottenham’s marauding full-backs during a warm-weather break in Dubai last week that doubled up as a team-bonding exercise.

After the game, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and predecessor David Gill congratulated the players in the dressing-room at Wembley, while Ferguson took his grandson on the team bus to meet them later.

It is typical of the inclusive, more welcoming atmosphere Solskjaer has fostered since returning to Old Trafford intent on re-establishing the values lost since Ferguson’s departure in 2013.

Phelan, in particular, has been an important conduit between the coaching staff and the players.

United were adamant that Solskjaer was an interim appointment, but he is now a serious contender for the job, though Mauricio Pochettino remains the favourite if he can be prised away from Spurs.

Manchester - Nasib Emiliano Sala masih juga belum jelas, setelah pesawat yang ditumpanginya hilang kontak. Manajer Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, turut berduka.

Sala, penyerang anyar Cardiff City, menumpangi pesawat yang hilang kontak di utara laut Alderney sekitar Les Casquete, Minggu (20/1/2019) pukul 20.23 waktu Prancis. Pesawat itu berangkat dari Nantes, Prancis.

Hingga Kamis (24/1/2019), pesawat tersebut belum ditemukan kendati pencarian terus dilakukan. Nasib penyerang Argentina itu pun kian mengkhawatirkan banyak pihak.

Solskjaer, yang juga sempat melatih Cardiff City pada 2015, menyampaikan simpati untuk Sala. Ia berharap dan berdoa yang terbaik untuk sang pemain.

"Ini adalah berita yang tragis dan Anda tahu ketika Anda bangun. Anda berharap membaca berita tentang kabar baik. Tetapi tentu semakin banyak waktu berlalu, semakin kecil kemungkinannya dan itu adalah tragedi bagi Sala dan keluarga, dan tentu saja semua orang yang mengenalnya," kata Solskjaer seperti dilansir Fox Sport.

SOLSKJAER ON THE MAKINGS OF A UNITED CAPTAIN

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set out his credentials for what it takes to be a captain at Manchester United when he addressed the media ahead of Friday night’s FA Cup tie against Arsenal.

Solskjaer, who has Ashley Young wearing the armband until club captain Antonio Valencia returns to fitness, spoke of the need for every player to be vocal when they step onto the pitch as well as the need for players with strong personalities.

“I've never been a fan of you're this and you're that. It’s 11 captains out there really,” Solskjaer said.

“It's all personalities, big personalities. I think it's important that you're not afraid of standing in front of your team-mates and putting them in their place if you have to.

”I think I have to be fair to Ash [Young] who is our skipper. He is maybe one of the last old school ones. He sounds like Rio [Ferdinand] and Gary [Neville].“

There was certainly no lack of strong voices in the United dressing room during Solskjaer's playing career at Old Trafford, with the likes of Eric Cantona, Roy Keane and Gary Neville all leading out the Reds during that time. The Norwegian reminisced about the different characteristics that each captain possessed and how they all had their differences.

“I've had all sorts of captains,” he added. “We had Eric, who was captain when I came. He wasn't very outspoken, but he led by example. Of course, Keano as well, he was a fantastic captain.

”Gary [Neville] was a different captain, he was more vocal and Giggsy at times was also a good captain - when he spoke you listened as he didn't speak a lot. Gary probably spoke the most.“

As for the leader-types in the current dressing room, Solskjaer cites Paul Pogba as an example, having known him from their previous spells at the club when the Norwegian was coaching the Reserves and the Frenchman was in United's Academy.

“I know the boy from before and he is a leader,” he said. “He is a character, he influences people and he cares and he really wants to be successful.

”He knows he can't do it by himself. It's a team game and he's a character that brings so many good things with him when he's enjoying himself, I have to say.“

When asked about how Pogba and modern players in general use social media, Solskjaer replied: “It's part of the era we live in.

”That's society now, that's what they're used to. The kids now are used to that, I'm not, but they are and it's all positive.

“It's all good messages and I don't have any problem with that whatsoever, because that's Paul.”

This coaching team have proven they are up to the task. What are the club waiting for? They may still be holding out for Mauricio Pochettino, but I honestly do not believe that he is going to leave everything he has built at Tottenham when they are about to move into a wonderful new stadium.

Solskjaer deserves to be given a chance. He is an icon of this club's past and can guide them to a successful future.

Manchester United caretaker manager pays tribute to staff and players after receiving monthly accolade for January

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has paid tribute to his players and coaches after winning the Barclays Manager of the Month award for January.

The Manchester United caretaker manager continued his dream start at the club where he starred as a player by extending his unbeaten run, claiming 10 points from a possible 12 during the month.

This included victories over Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as a comeback draw at home to Burnley.

"It means we’ve been the team of the month, both the staff and the players, so we’ve done well," said Solskjaer. "We want to be winning games, we want to move up the table and this is the start of it."

Solskjaer enjoyed a glittering 12-year playing career at United, winning six Premier League titles, and his transition to manager there has so far been seamless.

Sejak resmi ditunjuk sebagai manajer interim Manchester United pada Desember 2018, Solskjaer langsung tinggal di Lowry Hotel. Itu merupakah hotel yang sama yang ditempati Jose Mourinho selama dia menjadi bos di Old Trafford.

Pekan lalu, Solskjaer dikabarkan meninggalkan hotel tersebut untuk mencari rumah tinggal permanen. Ini kemudian dikaitkan dengan gosip bahwa dia akan dapat kontrak tetap dari manajemen Setan Merah.

Solskjaer sebenarnya punya rumah mewah di Inggris, yang sudah dia beli sejak masih menjadi pemain MU. Rumah itu disebut bernilai empat juta poundsterling (sekitar Rp 74,4 miliar).
