Default Re: [2017/18] FA Cup

REDS TO FACE TOTTENHAM IN FA CUP SEMI-FINALS

Manchester United will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley, with the tie to be played over the weekend of 21-22 April.

It's United’s reward for a hard-earned 2-0 home win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, secured by headers in either half from Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic. Spurs, meanwhile, reached the last four with a comfortable 3-0 victory at Swansea City.

Wembley is, of course, Spurs’ 'home' ground this season and United lost the league encounter there 2-0 in January. However, Jose Mourinho’s men won the reverse fixture 1-0 earlier in the season with a late goal from Anthony Martial.

The Premier League rivals have met 15 times in the FA Cup previously, with the Reds winning five, drawing five and losing five. Our last meeting in the competition came in the fourth round in January 2009, when quickfire goals from Paul Scholes and Dimitar Berbatov gave United a come-from-behind 2-1 home win.

The other semi-final pits Chelsea, who beat Leicester City 2-1 after extra-time on Sunday, against Southampton, who overcame Wigan Athletic 2-0.

Default Re: [2017/18] FA Cup

FA Cup semi-final tickets to be most expensive ever as Manchester United, Tottenham, Southampton and Chelsea have dates confirmed for last four ties

* Manchester United will travel to Wembley to face Tottenham in FA Cup semi-final
* Cup match has been confirmed for Saturday April 21, with kick-off at 5:15pm
* Chelsea will take on Southampton at same stadium the following day at 3pm
* Tickets will be the most expensive ever after FA revealed ticket price increase

The Football Association have made significant price increases for tickets to this year's FA Cup semi-finals and final at Wembley.

It is the first time since 2015 there has been an increase but supporters of Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Southampton face forking out up to £20 more for the semis and £30 more for the final.

Spurs will face United at Wembley on Saturday, April 21 with a 5.15pm kick-off, shown live on BBC 1. Chelsea v Southampton, on April 22 at 3pm, will be shown live by BT Sport.

The cheapest ticket for the semis will stay at £30 but the most expensive is now £80, compared to £60 last year.

The most expensive for the final in May is now £145, up from £115. Each club will receive 33,500 tickets.

The FA's director of professional game relations Andy Ambler said: 'It's always important to remember that the FA is a not-for-profit organisation where every pound and penny of profit is reinvested back into every level of football in England.'

Meanwhile, the FA will ensure Tottenham enjoy no home privileges at Wembley when they meet United next month.

All Tottenham branding will be stripped from their temporary home and Spurs will not using their usual changing room. Ambler added: 'Spurs will have no "home team" privileges for the semi-final or final.'

There will be a new champion after 2017 winners Arsenal were knocked out in the third round. Manchester United last won the trophy in 2016 when they beat Crystal Palace in extra time
