Ashley Young has been angered by Manchester United's decision to block his move to Inter Milan this month.

The former England international has virtually agreed a move to the San Siro as a free agent in the summer but would prefer to complete his switch to Italy this month.

Inter, it is understood, are willing to pay a fee for Young to conclude the swoop immediately.

However, United - as it stands - are unwilling to let the 34-year-old leave this month due to the number of defensive injuries they have, while there is a recognition that the dressing room would miss his leadership.

The stance has left Young frustrated given his preference to join in January. United could yet change their mind if they sufficiently reinforce their squad this month but Young is now preparing to see out the final six months of his deal at Old Trafford before joining Inter in the summer.

Young's resolve to leave Old Trafford for Italy has also been strengthen by what appears a token last ditch effort to keep him.

News emerged of United offering Young a new contract on Thursday in a bid to prevent the 34-year-old from leaving for Italy.

Sportsmail understands United's offer was a 12 month extension on the same £110,000-per-week wage. Young is understood to have rejected the contract offer from United.

Inter on the other hand are prepared to offer Young an 18 month contract on a figure significantly north of what he currently earns at Old Trafford at the moment - something United were aware of.

There is also a sense that United's contract offer has come too late given they've known all along that he would be able to discuss a pre-contract with overseas clubs from January.

Young has also been hugely impressed by Antonio Conte's vision for Inter, who are firmly in the Serie A title race. Indeed the prospect of winning a league title in a new country is an idea that appeals to the United star.

Conte is a long term admirer of Young; he asked about signing the United man when he was Chelsea manager.

United are not giving up hope of Young agreeing a new deal before the summer - but unless Young has a change of heart the versatile left-footer is expected to join Inter Milan ahead of next season.

Manchester United defender Ashley Young reportedly stormed out of training in order to force through a move to Inter Milan.

Young has agreed to join the Serie A side in a £1.5million move and is expected to undergo a medical on Friday.

As reported by The Sun, Young walked off the training pitch last Friday and went to work in the gym on his own.

That resulted in Young being left out of the squad for the win against Norwich.

The United captain's current deal expires in the summer but he was determined to leave in this transfer window.

United were eager to retain Young's services but he rejected their offer of a new one-year deal.

Crystal Palace, Watford and West Ham were also interested in Young but he wanted to move to Italy.

Young has made 261 appearances since joining United in 2011, and has scored 19 goals and provided 43 assists.

If the deal does go ahead then Young will link up with Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez at Inter, having previously played with both at United.

YOUNG COMPLETES UNITED DEPARTURE
Manchester United can confirm that Ashley Young has completed his transfer to Inter Milan.

The 34-year-old captain, who joined the Reds in the summer of 2011, made 261 appearances for the Reds, scoring 19 goals.

Speaking earlier on Friday about Young's move to Inter, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told us: “Ashley’s mindset was that he wanted to try a new adventure and he he’s approaching 35 now. He’s done a fantastic job and he’s served this club fantastically. I think it was an opportunity for him that we had to say yes to. We got a transfer fee for someone who’s been so loyal to the club.

“Good luck. That’s what Manchester United do, you have players for a long time and then they move on and someone else steps in.”

Everyone at the club would like to thank Ashley for his many seasons of service and to wish him well for the future.

YOUNG SAYS GOODBYE

Via his social media accounts, Ashley has posted the following message to the club and United supporters around the world:

“To Man United: you gave me the chance to play with legends, to win trophies, to work under the greatest manager in history and to be your captain. Thank you for letting me be part of your story for eight and a half years.

David Platt memulai kariernya bersama di Italia bersama Bari pada 1991/1992. Dia kemudian digaet Juventus pada 1992/1993 tapi dia gagal menyegel tempat di tim utama meski memberikan gelar Piala UEFA dan akhirnya pindah ke Sampdoria pada 1993.

Dua musim di Sampdoria dijalani dengan apik lewat torehan gelar Coppa Italia serta 17 gol dar 55 penampilan di seluruh kompetisi. Total ada 31 gol dari 100 penampilan di Serie A oleh Platt.

Paul Gascoigne

Paul Gascoigne dikenal sebagai pemain Inggris paling kreatif di masanya dan punya gaya bermain berbeda dari pemain Inggris Raya kebanyakan. Sayangnya, karier Gascoigne bersama Lazio tidak menjalan kariernya dengan gemilang.

Cedera dan perseteruan dengan pelatih serta manajemen jadi alasan mengapa dia harus meninggalkan klub itu pada akhir musim 1994/1995. Dia cuma tampl 43 kali dan membuat enam gol bersama Lazio.

Paul Ince

Paul Ince jadi pemain Inggris pertama yang memperkuat Inter Milan. Didatangkan dari Manchester United pada 1995, Ince jadi salah satu pemain yang didatangkan di awal era Massimo Moratti.

Duetnya bareng Nicola Berti membuat Ince disegani sebagai gelandang top saat itu. Dia cuma dua musim bermain di Inter dengan 13 gol dari 73 penampilan. Ince pernah merasakan asuhan Roy Hodgson di musim terakhirnya sebelum pindah ke Liverpool pada 1997.

David Beckham

Setelah lebih dari sedekade tak ada pemain Inggris di Serie A, David Beckham "pecah telur" ketika dia dipinjam dari LA Galaxy oleh AC Milan pada 2008/2009. Saat itu Beckham butuh klub yang bisa memberinya waktu bermain demi menjaga kondisi.

Sebab kompetisi MLS tengah libur sehingga Beckham tak bisa bermain untuk LA Galaxy. Dia mencetak gol perdana di Serie A saat Milan mengalahkan Bologna 4-1 pada 25 Januari. Di periode pertamanya, Beckham membuat dua gol dari 20 penampilan.

Beckham lantas dipinjamkan lagi ke Milan pada pertengahan musim 2009/2010, dengan alasan serupa tapi kali ini untuk Piala Dunia 2010. Peminjaman keduanya nyaris berjalan dengan torehan dua gol dari 15 laga, sebelum cedera achilles saat menghadapi Chievo Maret 2010.

Dia pun akhirnya gagal memperkuat Timnas Inggris di Piala Dunia 2010.

Micah Richards

Micah Richards sempat dipinjamkan Manchester City ke Fiorentina pada 2014/2015 setelah tersingkir dari tim utama. Dia tampil 19 kali saat dipinjam sebelum pensiun pada 31 tahun karena serangkaian cedera.

Ashley Cole

Bek kiri terbaik yang pernah dimiliki Inggris, Ashley Cole, pernah bermain untuk AS Roma pada 2014 hingga 2016. Meski punya kontrak dua tahun, Cole lantas diputus kerjasama oleh Roma pada Januari 2016 karena performa buruk. Cole cuma tampil 16 kali selama dua musim.


Joe Hart

Dibuang dari Manchester City, Joe Hart lantas dipinjamkan ke Torino pada musim 2016/2017. Hart bermain sebagai kiper utama selama semusim tapi dia dianggap gagal karena kerap melakukan sejumlah blunder. Sekembalinya ke Inggris, Hart bermain di West Ham United dan Burnley.
