Aston Villa chasing out-of-favour Barcelona defender



Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Barcelona outcast Gabriel Milito and hope to snap him up for free in the summer.
The defender has fallen out of favour at the Nou Camp and has only started three La Liga matches all season with Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol the preferred partnership at centre-back.
And, according to reports in Spain, Milito is set to quit the club at the end of the summer, with Villa among a host of clubs interested in signing him.
But Villa do not want to pay a fee for the Argentine defender, 30, who is contracted to Barcelona until 2012, and hope to agree a deal to take him for free in the summer.

Hercules line up £7million move for Chelsea's Malouda



Chelsea winger Florent Malouda is a £7m summer target for La Liga newcomers Hercules.
The France international has been almost ever-present in Carlo Ancelotti's first team this season and has scored nine goals and set up another four.
But it has been reported that the 30-year-old is one of the players who could leave Chelsea as they attempt to rebuild their ageing squad at the end of the season.
And Hercules hope to pair Malouda with his international team-mate David Trezeguet who has been a revelation for the side since joining from Juventus in the summer.
According to reports in Spain, Hercules are prepared to pay £7m for the winger and will make an offer in the summer.

Mystery club bids £25m for Udinese's Sanchez




Udinese have received a bid of around €30million (£25.4million) for Alexis Sanchez, according to chairman Franco Soldati.

The Chile forward, 22, scored four goals in his side's 7-0 win over Palermo at the weekend.

"Somebody has already proposed a figure close to €30m-€35m, but I cannot say who," Soldati told Sky Italia. "In any case, the player is attracting interest in Italy and abroad - in England."

Sanchez, who has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea, first moved to Udinese in 2008 and has become an increasingly important member of their first team.

Neven Subotic bids 'expected from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City'

Borussia Dortmund are readying themselves for big-money bids from Premier League giants including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City after English scouts were reported to have watched Neven Subotic at the weekend.




The £20million-rated centre-back helped his side keep another clean sheet as they saw off FC Koln 1-0 at the Westfalenstadion on Friday evening to go 12 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

But the game also attracted interest for the number of foreign scouts in attendance, with most thought to have been present to see Subotic in action.

A selection are thought to have been reporting back to Premier League teams, with at least three of England's current top four believed to be weighing up summer offers.

Subotic was linked with a move to Chelsea in January but the move never came to fruition after Dortmind chief Hans-Joachim Watzke ruled out selling the Serbian international mid-season.

However, he did say the club 'would consider' allowing Subotic to leave in the summer window, provided they receive a 'fantastic' offer for his services.

Mirko Vucinic pursuit 'stepped up by Liverpool and Spurs' amid Napoli links

Premier League clubs Liverpool and Spurs are to renew their efforts to sign Roma striker Mirko Vucinic after the player's agent suggested he could leave the Italian capital for Serie A rivals Napoli in the summer.




Both Harry Redknapp and Kenny Dalglish are thought to have had enquiries about Vucinic rejected out of hand by the Giallorossi in January.

But their hopes of landing the highly-rated 27-year-old during the summer have been boosted by recent speculation coming out of the Stadio Olimpico, which suggests Roma may now be prepared to listen to offers.


Vucinic's agent Alessandro Lucci said his in-demand client, who can play in the centre or wide on the left, finds switching clubs a 'fascinating' prospect after stoking speculation that Napoli will test Roma's resolve with a £9million bid at the end of the season.

'Vucinic is always linked with Napoli,' Lucci told Italian radio station CRC.

'His contract at Roma is until 2013, and he feels fine there and with the club but nothing is impossible in football, and Napoli is fascinating for him.

'They are a team going places and they know they can reach important objectives.

'Edinson Cavani, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Vucinic would form a devastating trio. They would be the best in Europe.

'But at the moment, no one knows what will happen with Roma in terms of players being sold.'

The Montenegran international has scored 11 goals in 21 caps as well as 56 goals in 132 league appearances for Roma since 2006.

Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan 'to be offered to Spurs for £40m in summer'

Atletico Madrid will approach Spurs to offer them star duo Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero for a combined fee of £40million when the transfer window reopens.




According to reports in Spain, cash-strapped Atletico are ready to sell their prized assets because of attitude problems and 'personality clashes' within the squad.

Forlan is rumoured to have been wanting out for some time while Aguero is said to have instructed his agent to negotiate a move away from Vicente Calderon after becoming disillusioned with life in the Spanish capital.

Aguero, 22, feels he cannot progress his career at the club - especially as they look set to miss out on European competition altogether next season.

And, as a result, he is determined to push his cause for a move to England in the summer - having seen the Premier League earning power of former Atletico team-mate Fernando Torres, who joined Chelsea from Liverpool for £50m recently.


He is also said to have privately identified Harry Redknapp as a manager he would like to work with.


Atletico rejected an offer from city rivals Real Madrid for Forlan, 31, in January, while both Chelsea and Spurs were rebuffed in their approaches for Aguero - valued at around £38million.

The latter even signed a new contract to demonstrate his willingness to remain - although it is believed a release clause would be activated if Atletico finish any lower than sixth in La Liga.

As a result, they are keen to maximise any transfer - so are set to offer both as a 'multi-million-euro package deal' for fear that Forlan alone, at 31, will not generate the same level of interest alone, despite winning the World Cup Golden Boot last year.

When asked last month about the prospect of leaving the club, Forlan replied abruptly: 'I'm fine here. I will not talk about my future.

'You don't know how things will turn out, this is football after all.'

Arsenal and Chelsea on alert as Mexes admits future is up in the air



Arsenal and Chelsea target Philippe Mexes has still not ruled out a summer move to the Premier League.
It has been reported that the two English clubs are on a long list of sides across Europe who are keen on snapping up the France international on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.
Central defender Mexes was thought to be on the verge of penning a new four-year deal which would keep him at Roma until the end of his career.
But the 28-year-old has decided not to make a decision on his future until the summer.
"I have many offers, but I will not decide my future until the season ends," he said.
"Right now, I could go to any of the major leagues in the world, but I have to evaluate many things when I make my decision."

Blackburn plot £15m summer swoop for Bendtner as Venky's bid to flex financial muscle

Blackburn are planning a surprise move for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner in the summer.

Despite facing a battle to avoid relegation, Rovers' Indian owners still have grand plans for next season. Signing a marquee player is top of their agenda.
Real Madrid's Kaka has been mooted recently, following their ambitious attempts to lure Ronaldinho and David Beckham, but Bendtner is seen as a more realistic target.



A quality Premier League striker tops their wish-list and Rovers have the funds to pay a £15million transfer fee and tempt Bendtner with big wages.

The main problem will be whether the Dane is interested in quitting Arsenal for one of the Premier League's less glamorous clubs.
Meanwhile, Arsenal's interest in Real Madrid midfielder Pablo Sarabia has prompted the Spaniards to open talks over a new contract.



Arsenal scout Francis Cagigao has watched the 18-year-old left-sided midfielder playing for Madrid's second team.

Sarabia's agent Gines Carvajal said: 'Some clubs are looking at Sarabia and Real know this.'
