#WoodwardOut , Luapan Kekecewaan Fans MU di Bursa Transfer
Yanu Arifin - detikSport

Man United fans get #WoodwardOut trending on Twitter on deadline day as they vent their fury at club chief over missed transfer targets

* Manchester United supporters are disappointed with the club's recruitment
* Fans have called for United's executive vice chairman Ed Woodward to be sacked
* His role in United's transfer policy has encouraged fans to tweet #WoodwardOut
* The Red Devils are trying to bring in reinforcements before the 5pm deadline

Manchester United fans are in revolt over the club's transfer policy and have vented their anger by getting #WoodwardOut trending on Twitter.

Red Devils supporters are unhappy with executive vice chairman Ed Woodward, suggesting he has done an inadequate job of trying to strengthen United's squad this summer.

United have not announced any signings on deadline day so far, with Romelu Lukaku heading out of Old Trafford in a £72million deal.

Manchester United have called for executive vice chairman Ed Woodward to be sacked

One disappointed fan has named Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure, Sporting's Bruno Fernandes and new Tottenham signing Tanguy Ndombele in a list of 11 players who 'would have improved' United's midfield.

It is understood United have pursued Fernandes throughout the summer, but they must act quickly if they are to strengthen before the deadline.

The Red Devils have undoubtedly improved their defensive options, signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire, and have injected pace up front by recruiting Swansea's Daniel James.

However, fans are tweeting in their masses, with United fans and players desperate to atone for an unacceptable season last year.

Another disgruntled supporter tweeted: 'If you’re in charge of the worlds biggest football club and haven’t come close to a league title in your 6 year time in charge. You have to look at yourself and admit you can’t do your job'.

The fan attached a picture of the 'Ed Woodward - a specialist in failure' banner which United fans flew over Turf Moor in September 2018.

One person simply posted: 'Too many failed transfer windows means this man has got to go'.

United's boardroom are working diligently to improve their squad before the 5pm deadline, but any deal will now go down to the wire.

Manchester United fans fly 'Glazers out' banner over Old Trafford before Premier League clash with Chelsea

* Supporters are attempting to force United's American owners to sell the club
* Fans are angry at the debt the club have accumulated under their ownership
* Despite the protests, Old Trafford was full for their opening game of the season

Manchester United supporters flew a banner with the message 'Glazers out' over Old Trafford before their game against Chelsea on Sunday.

Fans remain angry at United's American owners for accumulating vast amounts of debt since their takeover of the club in 2005.

Since then there have been various campaigns aimed at forcing the Glazer family to sell United, but they have so far shown little interest in looking for a buyer.

United fans flew a banner over Old Trafford in protest at the club's American owners

Back in 2011 fans launched a 'green and gold' campaign which saw supporters buy green and gold scarves - the club's original colours - as a sign of dissidence.

However, despite David Beckham appearing to endorse the movement by draping a scarf around him as he left the pitch after United's 2010 clash with AC Milan, the campaign ran out of steam.

Several weeks ago, a supporters group wrote an open letter to the Glazer family outlining the cause of their frustration and pointing out how the club's fortunes had dipped since Sir Alex Ferguson departure in 2013.

On Sunday, former United defender Gary Neville branded fans 'muppets' for thinking their campaign would have any impact on the Glazers long term plans for the club and said they wouldn't consider selling unless they were being hurt financially.

Neville also laid into former youth team team-mate John O'Kane, who has been sympathetic to the movement on social media, claiming he was 'unprofessional' during his time at the club.

Default Re: Ed Woodward

WOODWARD: OLE'S OBJECTIVES ARE TRUE TO UNITED

Ed Woodward insists Manchester United’s process for finding new players is driven by the club's vastly experienced scouting and recruitment staff, working with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaches – not by 'non-football people.'

The executive vice-chairman explained the synergy between the club's objectives and the manager's vision for the team, when he addressed a recent annual meeting for over 400 employees at Old Trafford.

He also moved to dispel notions about the commercial side holding sway over matters on the pitch, explaining that United effectively has two parts – a legendary football club, alongside a successful commercial operation, with the latter supporting the former, by having its revenues reinvested in the pursuit of silverware.

Woodward said: “The reality of Manchester United is we are a club in two parts. First of all, we are an incredible 141-year footballing institution with all that history, all that legacy, all that tradition and that tradition of success. That can never, ever change. We need to keep that protected... what's important is the commercial side is never allowed to take priority over the football side.

“Like other football clubs, our commercial business allows us to reinvest in the football side. It's how these two interact with each other at Manchester United that results in us having a competitive advantage in this area.”

The Reds acquired three new faces for the first team this season - Daniel James, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka - and all of them have made solid starts to their maiden United campaign.

Woodward feels there is a misconception over signing players.

“There is a myth that we have non-football people making football decisions, and I think it’s insulting to the brilliant people who work on the football side in this club,” said the executive vice-chairman.

“Many of the senior staff on the football side of the club have been in their roles for over 10 years. Some of our scouts have worked with us for more than 25 years.

“We’ve expanded our recruitment department in recent years and we believe this now runs in an efficient and productive way. Player recommendations and decisions are worked on by this department and by the first-team manager and his staff, not by senior management.”

The many calls made by Solskjaer and his colleagues during the summer, including the sale and loan of several senior professionals and the promotion of some exciting Academy graduates, has led to a younger line-up on the field. The average age of the starting XI has been around 25 this season, compared to nearly 27 last term, and that's another early sign of how the club is evolving under the Norwegian.

“Ole’s vision maps exactly to the core three football objectives we have,” said Woodward.

“We must win trophies, we must play attacking football, and we must give youth its chance.

“Last season we were the Premier League's leading club in terms of the most match minutes given to our own Academy graduates.

“We should all be proud that the significant investments we have made in our Academy - spanning recruitment, facilities and analytics - are now bearing fruit.

“There's a lot more we need to do in that but that's coming in the next few years. We know this is a strong competitive advantage for us and an area that we'll continue to focus on and invest in. But this remains the heart of the club.”

Woodward acknowledged there has been a rollercoaster ride on the pitch since Ole took charge midway through last season, from the electrifying first few months of his tutelage to a challenging April and May. The current campaign began with the bang of an emphatic 4-0 home win over Chelsea, but with up to six players from that team absent through injury, victories have since been harder to come by.

“The middle section of last season, after Ole’s arrival, feels most relevant to what we want to achieve and where we want to be,” said Ed. “We saw a team playing fast, fluid football, with a clear representation of the style and philosophy the manager wants.

“Ole has also instilled the discipline back into an environment where we may have lacked it in recent years. He is building a squad that respects the club’s history, in which players work hard and respect their team-mates. No-one is bigger than the club.

“The changes we saw over the summer have resulted in a very young squad. But it's also a squad, with the players and the culture, that provides a base camp for us to build and grow from as we start our new journey.”

'I won't put profit ahead of bringing back glory': Ed Woodward backs under-fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer '100 per cent' ahead of crunch Liverpool clash as he admits he's made mistakes during his time at Manchester United

* Manchester United defeat against Liverpool would pile pressure on manager
* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been struggling and are currently 12th
* Ed Woodward believes Norwegian is still the right man for the job at Old Trafford
* He said: '‘Ole’s vision maps exactly to the core three football objectives we have'

Manchester United chief Ed Woodward has backed manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer going into Sunday’s clash with Liverpool.

Defeat would pile more pressure on Solskjaer in the club’s worst start to a season in 30 years but it’s understood that Woodward has given the Norwegian ‘100 per cent support’ to turn it around.

‘Ole’s vision maps exactly to the core three football objectives we have,’ said United’s chief executive.

‘We must win trophies, we must play attacking football, and we must give youth its chance.

‘The middle section of last season, after Ole’s arrival, feels most relevant to what we want to achieve and where we want to be. We saw a team playing fast, fluid football with a clear representation of the style and philosophy the manager wants.

'Ole has also instilled the discipline back into an environment where we may have lacked it in recent years. He is building a squad that respects the club’s history, in which players work hard and respect their team-mates. No-one is bigger than the club.'

Woodward has also defended his record as Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman and insisted that making money will never come before success on the pitch.

The team have been in decline since Woodward replaced David Gill in 2013 despite spending close to £1billion on new players.

United have not won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson departed the same year and currently lie in 12th place after their worst start in 30 years under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Woodward’s role has come under increasing scrutiny as the delay over appointing a director of football continues.

The 47-year-old has also faced criticism over the plethora of commercial deals worldwide on his watch that have boosted United’s revenue in stark contrast to the team’s dwindling success.

Ed Woodward has thrown his weight behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and given his support

However, Woodward said: ‘What’s important is that the commercial side is never allowed to take priority over the football side. There is a myth we have non-football people making football decisions, and I think it’s insulting to the brilliant people who work on the football side in this club.

‘The reality of Manchester United is we are a club in two parts. First of all, we are an incredible 141-year footballing institution with all that history, all that legacy, all that tradition and that tradition of success. That can never, ever change. We need to keep that protected.’

It’s understood Woodward feels much of the criticism is unfair and it has also hurt his family. His wife, Isabelle, is said to have stopped reading media articles about him.

But the United chief accepts that mistakes have been made during his six years at the helm, not least in the recruitment process.

He accepts it was unfair to expect David Moyes to inherit a unique scouting structure set up over many years by Ferguson. While Ferguson relied on a network that included his brother, Martin, and just 12 full-time scouts, Moyes was used to a different set-up and should have been allowed to get on with his first-team duties while the job of recruitment was shared among other staff.

Woodward has come in for plenty of criticism but insists the rebuilding process is a slow one

Louis van Gaal was hired with one eye on his ability to identify new signings but in hindsight the club realised some of them did not fit the mould of a Manchester United player. United now have as many as 60 scouts and a huge database that means more than 800 right backs were scrutinised before they bought Aaron Wan-Bissaka for £50million in June.

‘We’ve expanded our recruitment department in recent years and we believe this now runs in an efficient and productive way,’ said Woodward, who again pointed out that he only has a limited say in the process.

‘Player recommendations and decisions are worked on by this department and by the first-team manager and his staff, not by senior management.’

Having delivered Solskjaer’s three top targets by also signing Harry Maguire and Daniel James in the summer, United hope to bring in up to five more before the start of next season.

There is a possibility of a new arrival in January if the deal is right, but a bid for Mario Mandzukic of Juventus seems unlikely as United try to fill a yawning gap up front. They have faced criticism for letting Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez leave without signing a replacement striker.

However, it’s said that Woodward and Solskjaer knew it could leave the forward line thin on the ground, but they thought it was the right decision to move the club forward in the long run. They did not foresee an injury to Anthony Martial that has kept the Frenchman out since August and further depleted the attack, nor the raft of other injuries sidelining half the team that beat Chelsea 4-0 on the opening weekend.

Woodward is said to view United’s current position in the table as false and is optimistic it will improve over time. Sources close to the United chief say he is happy with the mood around the club. There is certainly no appetite to make Solskjaer the fourth managerial casualty since Ferguson retired in 2013.

United understand the Norwegian has been asked to oversee a rebuilding job and produce a better, younger team. They are determined to give him time despite the stuttering form that has carried on from the end of last season into the start of this one.

‘Cultural reset’ has been the buzz phrase around the club under Solskjaer, and Woodward understands that United are making a fresh start.

‘The changes we saw over the summer have resulted in a very young squad,’ he said. ‘But it’s also a squad, with the players and the culture, that provides a base camp for us to build and grow from as we start our new journey.’

Woodward Bantah Fokus MU Cuma Uang, Uang, dan Uang
Yanu Arifin - detikSport

'Ed still failing - Woodward Out!': Manchester United fans fly plane over Old Trafford ahead of Liverpool clash calling for Glazers to sack CEO while others protest outside the ground

* Plane was flown over Old Trafford bearing the damning message for Woodward
* Fans also carried banners with messages calling for Ed Woodward's sacking
* The news comes as Woodward himself opened up on the structure of the club

As Old Trafford geared up for the biggest game in English football, Manchester United fans protested against the club CEO Ed Woodward - calling for him to be sacked.

A plane was even flown over the stadium with a banner reading 'Ed still failing - Woodward Out!'

Fans also carried damning banners with messages calling for Woodward's sacking in the build-up to the Liverpool game.

A banner is flown over the stadium prior to kick off, calling for Ed Woodward to be sacked

United's owners, the Glazer family, are also the subject of constant enmity from large portions of the club's fans - and have been since taking over in 2005.

Some banners from outside the stadium bore a message demanding that they sell the club, as well as calling for Woodward's head.

One of the banners claimed that the Glazers have 'stolen over £1billion from United' - a claim often mooted by anti-Glazer fans in relation to the running of the club as a business with the American family profiting.

The news comes as Woodward himself opened up on the structure of the club, also claiming that the Glazers are going nowhere anytime soon.

A plane was flown over the stadium with a banner reading 'Ed still failing - Woodward Out!'

'Based on what I see, they're in it for the long-term,' said United's executive vice-chairman

'With regards to offers or asking prices, my understanding is that there have been no discussions for a price for the club or anything like that. Every conversation we have is based on the long-term.'

One of the main criticisms of the Glazers is the debt saddled on United by their leveraged £780m buyout which currently stands at £511m.

But in an interview with fanzine United We Stand, Woodward played down that figure, saying: 'The debt is a long-term, structured and similar to some other football clubs.

'It's a fixed amount for a fixed period of time which results in it being fairly cheap to service.

'It's just under two per cent our annual revenue each year, so it doesn't really have any impact on us.'

MU Jeblok, Woodward Jadi Direktur dengan Bayaran Tertinggi di Liga Inggris
Putra Rusdi K - detikSport

Kebijakan transfer Woodward banyak dikecam fans MU.

Yanu Arifin - detikSport

CEO Manchester United, Ed Woodward, membuat rekrutan pada Januari ini. Bukan pemain yang didatangkan, melainkan mantan jurnalis.

Dilansir Guardian, Woodward merekrut seorang konsultan komunikasi bernama Neil Ashton.

Rumah Ed Woodward Diserang Fans MU

Mereka melemparkan flare merah melewati pagar rumah Woodward.
