Versi Inggrisnya dari manutd[dot]com:

16:25 That's the end of the press conference. Thanks for joining us.

16:25 "I'll try but time is closing in," David Moyes replies when asked about transfers and the prospect of having a new player in before the tour.

16:24 David spent an hour or two on the phone with Paul Scholes. "There will be a place for him and we'll look to bring him back in."

16:23 The boss stresses the club needs to do well in all the competition it enters. "There's a tradition of being used to winning trophies." Nemanja Vidic says Wayne Rooney is in the best physical shape for the past five years and he hasn't spoken to him about his future.

16:20 Sir Alex will be used for advice and David concedes it will probably be impossible for a manager to reign for 25 years at this level again. On transfers, he admits: "It does change as we used to shop in a different window at Everton. This club will always look to buy the best young players and a big part of my job is to bring young players through the Academy. We're looking to bring through our own players."

16:17 David thinks he has been left a squad capable of retaining the Barclays Premier League and was pleased to be handed a six-year contract. The boss believes managers are sacked too quickly these days and feels fortunate to have worked at Preston and Everton where that hasn't been the case.

16:15 Ashley Young, Chris Smalling and Nani (who has had an operation on his nose) are doubts for the tour. They will be assessed at the start of next week before the flight out. Wilfried Zaha is due out in on Monday. Shinji Kagawa will meet up with the squad in Japan but Javier Hernandez has more time off.

16:13 "I've never seen United get a tougher Premier League start over the years," jokes the manager. He hopes to get balance right between winning and entertaining. "I hope I have the same magic touch as Sir Alex," he asserts. It is made clear that not all of the squad is back in training.

16:11 Paul Scholes is taking some time off to spend with his family. Ryan Giggs is described as an "incredible footballer" and the new man wants some young members of staff behind him.

16:10 David says it's not his style to speak about players who are contracted to other clubs after being asked directly about any interest in Cristiano Ronaldo. "This club is always interested in the best players," he reiterates.

16:08 "I come to a club where success is tattooed across its badge," states the boss, who says he has gained great confidence from being told he would be the club's manager by Sir Alex. "We'll do everything we can to add to the squad," he says.

16:06 The new boss hopes Sir Alex does sit in the directors' box as he won't be intimidated by his presence. There are thanks due also to Rene Meulensteen, who was asked to stay but felt it fair on the Scot to leave, and Mike Phelan. "Sir Alex is not there to pressure me," stresses Moyes. "The players have also responded well."

16:04 David is looking forward to working with Wayne again, as he did at Everton, and getting the best out of him as the journalists pepper the new manager with questions about the striker. "Wayne won't be sold by Manchester United," he reiterates.

16:02 David Moyes has met Sir Bobby Charlton, which was a "thrill" and has spoken to Wayne Rooney about overtaking the legend's goalscoring record. "He's not for sale and will remain a Manchester United player." The striker is training 'brilliantly well' and will target the all-time goals record.

16:01 "Old Trafford is the place you want to go," adds Moyes, who feels it is a plus for British coaches that he has been handed this fabulous opportunity. He admits to some trepidation at stepping into Sir Alex's shoes as he has so much respect for the man he has replaced.

16:00 Phil Townsend introduces David and skipper Nemanja Vidic to the floor. "I'm incredibly privileged," admits the boss. "I had no idea whatsoever. I knew nothing at all about it until Sir Alex gave me a call." The pair met at Sir Alex's house and was told you're the next Manchester United manager.

Default Re: Manchester United - Press Conference (Welcome, David Moyes)

David Moyes has challenged his Manchester United players to start well

David Moyes has challenged his players to hit the ground running with title contenders Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal waiting to capitalise when his debut campaign as Manchester United boss kicks off next month.

Moyes must pit his wits against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea, north-west rivals Liverpool and his Manchester rivals City after an opening-day trip to Swansea at the start of the club's Premier League trophy defence.

"Manchester United is a great football club that has been successful most years," said the Scot at the launch of the club's new away kit.

"The biggest strategy we have is to continue that. We want to be winners and with the group of players I have, I am sure that will happen."

The Scot, after an inauspicious start at the helm of his new club with two defeats from three games, confirmed Robin van Persie after the Dutchman suffered a thigh injury during Tuesday's defeat by should be involved against Cerezo Osaka on Friday despite a thigh problem.

The same assessment was made of Danny Welbeck, who trained in humid conditions, but Michael Carrick and Jonny Evans were not involved with the main group.

Evans had an ice-pack applied to his ankle at one point, whilst Carrick was restricted to running only, although he appeared to be going at a fair pace.

"Michael had a tight groin," said Moyes. "He is feeling better now. He probably won't figure (Friday) but he should be OK to resume training at the weekend."

Moyes has been boosted by the news from United's training ground in Carrington with captain Nemanja Vidic and unsettled striker Wayne Rooney nearing fitness.

"There was a practice match at the training ground the other day in which Nemanja Vidic, Antonio Valencia and Nani all got some playing time," he said.

"Wayne Rooney is running and is probably at the level we would have thought he would be. He has picked up his work again this week."

Moyes: Derby could be crucial

David Moyes says United are in confident mood ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby, a match that he feels will influence the Barclays Premier League title race.

The Reds head to the Etihad Stadium on the back of two impressive wins against Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen, a couple of results that also saw strikers Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie return to scoring ways in clinical fashion.

As a result, Moyes is optimistic about facing City, who drew 0-0 with Stoke City last time out. The boss is also well aware of what a local derby means to fans, having played for Celtic against Rangers and most recently managed Everton against Liverpool.

“We’ve played well in the last few games and have got a bit of confidence and hopefully we’ll try and show that in the game on Sunday,” the boss told reporters on Friday.

“There is an excitement for any derbies in any big city in the world. They’re all really important to your own supporters. They’re important to the players as well but ultimately it’s about what happens come the end of the season and how many points you get together to see who is top. These points could be really important towards that, they may not be. We’ll go and we’ll try and take all the points.

“I’ve experienced derby games in Glasgow and on Merseyside. But as I said every derby in every big city is important to whichever team you support and I understand how important it is for the Manchester United fans.”

Sunday’s derby will also see two new managers – Moyes and Manuel Pellegrini - patrolling the dugouts following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson and dismissal of Roberto Mancini in the summer, adding extra spice to an already potent cocktail.

Of course, the pair have done battle before in 2005 when Everton lost to Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League third round, a match that was shrouded in controversy after Pierluigi Collina disallowed Duncan Ferguson's late header for an apparent infringement.

When quizzed on that match during Friday’s press conference at the Aon Training Complex, the boss was quick to praise the Spanish club that went on to enjoy much success that season, though he did concede the result should perhaps not have stood.

“Villarreal had a really good team in 2005,” he explained. “They got to the semi-final that year, so for us to run them close gave you an idea what a good side we had at Everton. It did rankle because we thought we scored a legitimate goal in extra time.”

Managers Press Conference – Hull City

Manchester United manager David Moyes sat with the press at the clubs AON Training Complex in Carrington ahead of the Barclays Premier League clash with Hull City at the KC Stadium on Boxing Day. The press conference was held today so not to clash with the Christmas holiday period with the press. The boss spoke about Steve Bruce, Hull City, away matches, Marouane Fellaini and his injury and some of the clubs loan players, who are staring for their clubs at the moment.

Here are the main points from the press conference:

Moyes on Steve Bruce’s time in charge of Hull City:

“Steve Bruce has done a good job with Hull – he has really brought them back.

“They looked as though they were dipping and going in the wrong direction. I think he has done a great job in getting momentum going again. They have got some good players and they will be a hard team to beat, as they have had a decent first half to the season.”

Moyes on Hull City currently boasting the third best defensive record in Europe having only conceded three goals in their last eight matches:

“I didn’t know that until you just told me so that is a great record for Hull. You have either got to score plenty of goals or not concede goals – it is one or the other.

“If they have a good base and are hard to beat, that is something they can build on and hope for that odd goal here and there to win the games. But we know it will be a tough game at Hull.”

Moyes on away match as United face Hull City (Boxing Day) and Norwich City (Saturday) in their next two league matches:

“Away games are always much harder than the home games; we have to make sure we go there and do the job right.

“We have done quite well away from home this season. We will try to keep going, keep the good away form up and hopefully pick up some points.”

Moyes confirms Marouane Fellaini is out for six weeks after having surgery on his wrist:

“He had his operation on Saturday morning. We couldn’t get him recovered from his back injury. We thought his back would be okay after 10 days but it wasn’t getting better, so we made a quick decision to get his wrist operated on.

“We think it will be six weeks but there’s a chance it will be before that. His back problem was just going to take time. It was a muscle injury, which wasn’t healing so it was going to take longer than expected. That’s why we decided to get the wrist done.”

Moyes on the clubs loan stars progress; Nick Powell, Jesse Lingard and Ryan Tunnicliffe are all doing well:

“I am quite actively looking at our own boys like Jesse Lingard, Nick Powell and Ryan Tunnicliffe, the boys who are out on loan. We have got quite a few out, and they are the ones which I am making sure I keep my eye on because they are the future. They are part of the club, they have been through the system. We are certainly keeping our eyes on all of the boys who are out on loan.”

Friday 17 January

14:00 Here are the main points from David Moyes' press conference...

-Wayne Rooney is back from his warm-weather break but will not be available for the trip to Chelsea. "He's training, doing some running and looking quite good. I don’t want to put a date on it just now [his return] as I don’t want to say he’ll be fit for whatever game and then I find he’s not. We’ve just got to take it bit by bit."

-The manager also said he hopes Robin van Persie will resume training at the start of next week. He added that "most of the players are getting close to [full] fitness."

-Moyes confirmed that Anderson is going on loan to Fiorentina: "We’ve not been able to get him as many games as he’d hoped, or we hoped we might get him, so we feel it’s a good opportunity for him. He’s going to a good club in a good league, so hopefully it gets him some benefit."

-Moyes was also asked about the return to fitness of Darren Fletcher: "To be truthful, we didn’t think he was going to come back and, if he did, we weren’t sure when he was going to come back. But he’s been a breath of fresh air, how well he’s played."
