UEFA Golden Boy award
Marcus Rashford, Alex Iwobi and Dele Alli nominated for 2016 UEFA Golden Boy award
* Marcus Rashford hasn't looked back since his Manchester United debut * Alex Iwobi has impressed for Arsenal while Dele Alli has shone for Spurs * There are 10 Premier League-based players on the 40-man shortlist * Anthony Martial won the UEFA Golden Boy award last year * The Premier League has been able to boast six of the previous 13 winners The accolades just keep coming for rising star Marcus Rashford. The teenage talent has enjoyed a stellar 2016 since making his Manchester United debut in February - including becoming an England international. And now the 18-year-old's meteoric climb has seen him nominated for the 2016 UEFA Golden Boy award. Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been nominated for the 2016 Golden Boy award The striker is one of 10 Premier League-based players on the 40-man shortlist which recognises the best talent in Europe under the age of 21. Nominations for the award must be born after January 1, 1996 and play for a European club. The award, founded in 2003, relates to performances across a particular calendar year, with the winner decided by a panel of 30 journalists. As well as Rashford, Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi makes the cut after shining for Arsene Wenger's side. The Gunners' arch-rivals Tottenham also have a representative in England international Dele Alli. The 20-year-old scored 11 goals last season as Spurs finished third in the Premier League. There are three representatives from Chelsea (Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Andreas Christensen and Nathan), while Manchester City have two (Kelechi Iheanacho and Leroy Sane). Leicester City's Demarai Gray and Liverpool's Marko Grujic complete the top-flight list from England. Alex Iwobi (left) is Arsenal's sole representative on the 40-man shortlist Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli (right) scored 11 goals in the Premier League last season Kelechi Iheanacho is one of two players from Manchester City on the shortlist Other eye-catching names on the annual shortlist - compiled by Italian publication Tuttosport - includes Kingsley Coman and Renato Sanches (both Bayern Munich), Gianluigi Donnarumma (AC Milan) and Marco Asensio (Real Madrid). If Rashford was to be victorious he would follow in the footsteps of United team-mate Anthony Martial, who won it last season. The Premier League has been able to boast six of the previous 13 winners. United have had three of them with Wayne Rooney (2004), Anderson (2008) and Martial (2015) claiming the prize, while Cesc Fabregas was a winner at Arsenal in 2006. Raheem Sterling (2014, Liverpool) and Mario Balotelli (2010, Manchester City) were the other two. Rashford's United team-mate Anthony Martial (left) won last year's Golden Boy award Quote:

Re: UEFA Golden Boy award
Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix and Matthijs de Ligt lead list of Europe's 40 best stars under 21 with six Premier League kids (including one from Watford!)... so who will be named Europe's 2019 Golden Boy?
* Tuttosport have released their list of nominees for the 2019 Golden Boy award * Jadon Sancho is among the favourites after starring for England and Dortmund * Juventus' Matthis de Ligt and Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix are also nominated * English trio Phil Foden, Mason Mount and Reiss Nelson are in the running Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix and Matthijs de Ligt are the leading names on the 40-man list of nominations for the 2019 Golden Boy award. The Golden Boy prize is an annual award established by Italian newspaper Tuttosport which is handed to the best player in European football under the age of 21 over the previous calendar year. Last year, De Ligt was named the 2018 Golden Boy by an international panel after beating off stiff competition from Kylian Mbappe and Justin Kluivert. Matthijs de Ligt won the 2018 Golden Boy and leads the 40-man list of nominations for 2019 De Ligt became the first defender to receive the prize, which has previously been won by eight midfielders and seven forwards, for his impressive displays for Ajax. The Dutch centre-back has a strong chance of retaining his crown after playing a key role in Ajax's run to the Champions League semi-finals, which resulted in a £67.8 million move to Juventus this summer. However, the 20-year-old, who has endured a mixed start to life in Turin, will have to battle it out with a host of other stellar names who have enjoyed breakthrough seasons for some of Europe's biggest clubs. One of De Ligt's biggest rivals for the prize will be England's Jadon Sancho, who had a stunning season for Borussia Dortmund. Sancho has hit the ground running this term as well, with six goals for club and country in his first 10 games of the campaign, including his first two goals for England in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Kosovo. Joao Felix is also on the 40-man list after scoring 18 goals for Benfica in 2018-19 Quote:
That form earned him his first Portugal call-up for their Nations League victory over Switzerland in June and prompted Atletico Madrid to spend an eye-watering £113 million to secure his services this summer. Outside of the leading trio of De Ligt, Sancho and Felix, a host of other emerging talents are also in the reckoning, including English trio Phil Foden, Mason Mount and Reiss Nelson. Quote:
Also on the list are Everton new-boy Moise Kean, Real Madrid's Brazilian star Vinicius Junior and RB Salzburg striker Erling Haaland who scored a stunning Champions League hat-trick in his side's group stage victory over Genk last week. The winner of the prize will be announced in December. Code:
