Manchester United and Manchester City fans face another late night after TV times confirmed for FA Cup ties at Wolves and Swansea

* Three of the four FA Cup quarter-finals will be played on Saturday March 16
* All-Premier League tie kicks off proceedings as Watford play Crystal Palace
* Swansea City vs Manchester City is followed by Wolves vs Manchester United
* There is just one game on Sunday March 17, with Millwall taking on Brighton

Manchester United and Manchester City fans face travel mayhem after TV times for the FA Cup quarter-finals were announced.

United’s tie at Wolves kicks off on Saturday March 16 at 7.55pm, while City’s clash at Swansea has a 5.20pm start.

Should both matches go to extra time and penalties, fans travelling by rail are likely to have trouble getting home.

Three of the four FA Cup quarter-finals will take place on Saturday March 16. Manchester United's tie away to Wolves kicks off at 7.55pm on March 16 and is on BBC One

Three of the four ties will take place on Saturday March 16, with Watford's tie against Crystal Palace kicking off at 12.15pm and being shown on BT Sport 2.

That is followed by Manchester City's trip to take on Swansea, which is also on BT Sport 2 and gets underway at 5.20pm.

There is then another game on Saturday evening as Wolverhampton Wanderers host Manchester United in the standout tie of the round.

Quote:
FA CUP QUARTER-FINAL TIES

Saturday March 16

Watford vs Crystal Palace - 12.15pm - BT Sport 2 & 4K HD

Swansea City vs Manchester City - 5.20pm - BT Sport 2 & 4K HD

Wolves vs Manchester United - 7.55pm - BBC One

Sunday March 17

Millwall vs Brighton - 2pm - BBC One
That game will be shown on BBC One and starts at 7.55pm.

On the Sunday there is just one game as Millwall host Brighton & Hove Albion. The match kicks off at 2pm and is on BBC One.

United, who beat Chelsea in the fifth round this week, will be especially determined to go all the way this season having been beaten by the Blues in the final of last year's competition.

If United do win the FA Cup this season then they will equal Arsenal's record of having won the trophy on 13 occasions.

Of the other remaining teams in the competition, City have won the FA Cup the most having triumphed five times.

The semi-finals of this year's FA Cup will take place on the weekend of April 6-7, with the final to be played on May 18.

Manchester City to face Brighton in FA Cup semi-final while Wolves' reward for beating Manchester United is a Wembley showdown with Watford

* Manchester City will take on Brighton in the semi-finals of this year's FA Cup
* The other Wembley semi-final will pit Watford against high-flying Wolves
* Brighton required penalties to beat Championship side Millwall on Sunday
* City are still on course for the quadruple despite a scare at Swansea City

Manchester City will face Brighton in the semi-finals of this year's FA Cup as Pep Guardiola's quest for the quadruple marches on.

Brighton required penalties to see off Championship side Millwall on Sunday while Manchester City overcame a scare at Swansea to reach the last four.

The other semi-final will see Watford take on a Wolves side who overcame Manchester United in their quarter final on Saturday.

Manchester City will take on Brighton while Wolves will face Watford in the FA Cup semi finals

Both Manchester City and Brighton had to recover from two-goal deficits to reach the last four.

Brighton managed to squeeze through their last-eight tie with Millwall despite trailing 2-0 with less than three minutes of normal time remaining.

Goals from Jurgen Locadia and Solly March - aided by a mistake from Millwall stopper David Martin - cancelled out strikes from Alex Pearce and Aiden O'Brien and forced extra time.

The match ultimately went to penalties with the visitors running out 5-4 winners.

City, meanwhile, found themselves 2-0 down in the first half at the Liberty stadium, but rallied in the second period.

Aided by two controversial decisions, City progressed thanks to goals from Bernardo Silva, an own goal by Kristoffer Nordfeldt and a late Sergio Aguero header.

Wolves, meanwhile, were rewarded for their impressive victory over Manchester United at Molineux with a last-four showdown with Watford at Wembley.

Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota struck in the second half to lead the Midlands club to their first semi-final for 21 years.

Watford defeated Crystal Palace in all Premier League clash on Saturday, with Andre Gray scoring a later winner for the Hornets.

FA Cup to return to free-to-air TV for the first time in more than 30 years in a deal that will see ITV join forces with the BBC from 2021-22 season

* The FA Cup will return exclusively to free-to-air television with ITV and BBC
* An announcement is some weeks away but it is a boost to the cup competition
* A four-year deal for the broadcasters is set to start from the 2021-22 season

The FA Cup is returning exclusively to free-to-air TV for the first time in more than 30 years in a deal that will see ITV join the BBC as rights-holders.

It is understood an announcement is still some weeks away because contracts have not yet been signed.

But insiders believe an agreement that represents a major boost to the FA and the world's oldest cup competition will be reached.

The FA Cup is to return exclusively to free-to-air television with ITV agreeing to join the BBC

ITV are said to be confident of agreeing a four-year deal that will start with the 2021-22 season and make them 'effectively equal' rights-holders with the BBC.

Not since 1988 - when Wimbledon's 'Crazy Gang' famously beat Liverpool's 'Culture Club' - have the two channels shared the FA Cup coverage.

The final is set to be available on both to mirror the arrangement that was in place between 1955 and 1988.

ITV are effectively taking over the package currently held by BT Sport, which raises further questions over BT's future as a leading sports broadcaster.

ITV are confident of agreeing a four-year deal which would get underway for 2021-22 season. Arsenal's visit of Manchester United in the fourth round this season earned 7.6million viewers

BT have held joint rights for the FA Cup with the BBC since 2014, but have seen Amazon break the stranglehold they enjoyed with Sky Sports over Premier League rights.

The FA Cup certainly attracts major television audiences on free-to-air channels.

While last week's dramatic Champions League semi-finals peaked at 2.7million on BT Sport, the BBC enjoyed an audience of 7.6m for Manchester United's FA Cup fourth-round encounter with Arsenal this season.

ITV have not broadcast matches in the competition since 2014, when a six-year run in which it shared coverage with Setanta, ESPN and BT Sport ended.

It has exclusive live rights for England's European Championship and World Cup qualifiers until 2022, which it will seek to retain when that tender process is reopened next year.

Merseyside derby and Arsenal vs Leeds in FA Cup third round picked for live coverage by BBC as BT Sport choose Man United's visit to Wolves as well as non-league Boston United's possible tie with Newcastle

* BBC and BT Sport announce televised matches for FA Cup third-round weekend
* Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton on Sunday on BBC One
* BBC One also to screen Arsenal vs Leeds United on Monday evening
* BT Sport to show Manchester United's visit to Wolves on Saturday teatime
* They will also show Newcastle's trip to either Boston United or Rochdale
* Middlesbrough vs Tottenham and Gillingham vs West Ham also on BT Sport

The Merseyside derby and Arsenal's match against Leeds United will enjoy top billing on FA Cup third-round weekend after the BBC and BT Sport confirmed their live TV picks.

Liverpool versus Everton at Anfield will be live on BBC One on Sunday afternoon, while Arsenal's home tie against Leeds United is on Monday night also on BBC One.

Manchester United's trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers is the Saturday teatime choice for BT Sport, who will also screen Newcastle United's trip to either Rochdale or non-league Boston United earlier that day.

The television picks for the FA Cup third round in early January have been announced

Middlesbrough versus Tottenham Hotspur and Gillingham versus West Ham will also be screened by BT Sport on the Sunday afternoon.

The third round will be played over the weekend of January 4-6 with all matches kicking off a minute later than usually scheduled as part of the Football Association's 'Take a Minute' campaign for mental health.

For example, the Merseyside derby will begin at 4.01pm on the Sunday as opposed to 4pm.

It's little surprise the derby has been chosen for live television coverage and Liverpool will be hoping to pile further misery on struggling Everton after beating them 5-2 in the Premier League on Wednesday.

They knocked their neighbours out of the FA Cup at the same stage during the 2017-18 campaign, with new signing Virgil van Dijk scoring a late winner.

United have more recent bad memories of visiting Molineux as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side lost there in the sixth round of last season's competition.

Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds are performing well in the Championship and will be a tough proposition for an inconsistent Arsenal team currently under the interim charge of Freddie Ljungberg.

Boston, of the sixth-tier National League and the lowest-ranked side remaining in the competition, face a glamour tie at their York Street ground with Newcastle if they can overcome League One Rochdale in a replay on December 16.

London clubs Tottenham and West Ham also face tough tests. Jose Mourinho's Spurs, who were knocked out the Carabao Cup by Colchester United earlier this season, head to Championship Middlesbrough.

West Ham, meanwhile, make the trip to Kent to face Gillingham in front of the TV cameras.
