Default Re: Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United will NOT be able to bring Alexis Sanchez back from Inter Milan after Marcus Rashford's injury as the loan does not have a recall clause

* Alexis Sanchez has a loan agreement with Inter Milan until the end of the season
* The Chilean has returned from an ankle injury that has restricted his game time
* There is no clause allowing Manchester United to recall him in January

Manchester United cannot bring Alexis Sanchez back to Old Trafford to replace the injured Marcus Rashford because there is no recall option in the Chilean’s loan deal at Inter Milan.

After Rashford was ruled out for up to three months with a double stress fracture in his back, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that United will look at signing a short-term replacement for their 22-year-old striker this month.

But with just 11 days of the January transfer window remaining, United now face a race against time to strengthen their squad having allowed Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku to leave for Inter in the summer.

There is no recall option for Manchester United to use in Alexis Sanchez's Inter Milan loan deal

While Lukaku’s move to Italy was permanent, Sanchez joined Inter on loan until the end of the season and could have been an option to return in United’s hour of need.

But it’s understood that the two clubs did not include a clause enabling United to bring him back – even though they are still paying half of his £300,000-a-week basic wage.

The 31-year-old has recently returned to action after three months on the sidelines since dislocating his left ankle on international duty with Chile in October.

Sanchez had only played 129 minutes for Inter at the time.

While he was widely viewed as a flop at Old Trafford following a high-profile move from Arsenal in January 2018 that made him the highest-paid player in the Premier League, Sanchez could still have added to Solskjaer’s attacking options which are now limited to Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Dan James.

Speaking after United's 2-0 defeat by Liverpool, the United boss said: 'It might be we might look at some short-term deals and that could take us through until the summer.

'We're looking at numbers and if the right one's there we could buy... if there's a loan, it's an option.'

Manchester United 'want £500,000-a-week flop Alexis Sanchez to prove himself at Old Trafford' as club make shock U-turn by RULING OUT permanent move to Inter Milan - or any other club - this summer

* Manchester United are set to give Alexis Sanchez another chance to impress
* United will prevent Inter Milan or any other club from signing him permanently
* Sanchez has seen his game time on loan at Inter restricted owing to injury
* The 31-year-old is set to travel on United's pre-season tour this coming summer

Manchester United are set to perform a shock u-turn by giving Alexis Sanchez another chance to prove himself at the club.

Sanchez is currently on loan at Inter Milan and it was initially thought that his chances of salvaging his United career were minimal.

However, as reported by the Daily Star, United want Sanchez to turn matters around and will prevent him from securing a permanent move to Inter or any other club this summer.

Manchester United won't let Alexis Sanchez join Inter Milan or any other club permanently. Sanchez has been limited to five league games on loan at Inter as he has struggled with injury. The 31-year-old is set to travel on United's pre-season tour and be given another chance

The report outlines that Sanchez will travel on United's pre-season tour as the club will make every effort to integrate him back into the squad.

Sanchez retains the No 7 shirt at United and will have two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford from next summer.

The Chile international's spell at Inter hasn't gone to plan so far - he has yet to start a Serie A game, largely owing to injury.

He is now back fit, though, and featured as a substitute in Inter's 1-1 draw with Cagliari last weekend.

Sanchez joined United in January 2018 in a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move to Arsenal. The move saw Sanchez earn £500,000-a-week.

The deal didn't work out for either player, but Sanchez especially struggled and was widely criticised for his performances for United.

Sanchez departed United on loan having scored just five goals in 45 appearances for the club.

Aside from Daniel James and Jesse Lingard (with the latter often used an attacking midfielder), United don't have many wingers at their disposal, with forwards such as Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood often used out wide instead.

It certainly appears that Sanchez's best days are behind him, but the 31-year-old's United career may not be over just yet.

'Alexis will come back and prove you all wrong': Manchester United flop Sanchez WILL be back next season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms... despite his five goals in two years costing them £27.3m!

* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Alexis Sanchez can resurrect Man United career
* Chilean has played just 214 minutes of football at Inter Milan due to injury
* He still has two years remaining on his £300,000-a-week contract

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes there is still a chance Alexis Sanchez can resurrect his Manchester United career when he returns in the summer.

Sanchez, who was a flop at United after signing from Arsenal two years ago, is on a season loan at Inter Milan and has played just 214 minutes of football in Italy due to a serious ankle injury.

The Chile star will have two years left on his £300,000-a-week contract when he returns to Old Trafford in the summer, and United are expected to try and negotiate a permanent move away.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Alexis Sanchez can resurrect his Manchester United career. Solskjaer believes that Sanchez can confound his critics if he's given a second chance

But Solskjaer claimed that Sanchez can confound his critics if he is given a second chance next season as he discussed the difficulties of signing players in the January transfer window.

'Alexis will come back in the summer and will prove you all wrong,' said the United boss.

'I can't remember how many good 'uns we've brought in and good deals in January.

'Henrik (Larsson) was good, Nemanja (Vidic) and Patrice (Evra), I'm talking about. It's very hard.

The Chilean is on loan at Inter Milan but has played just 214 minutes of football due to injury. Sanchez will have two years left on his £300,000-a-week deal when he returns this summer

'The clubs don't want to lose their best players. If there is something out there, the club is pursuing that and it's difficult.'

United brought Sanchez to Old Trafford two years ago in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan. But he managed to score only five times in a season-and-a-half before he was shipped out on loan to Italy last summer.

The club spent an incredible £23.4m on his £300,000-a-week wages during his disappointing 18 months in the north west.

And they have still been contributing to half of his wages while he's been on loan at the San Siro, meaning he has cost the club an exorbitant £27.3m in total.

United remain in talks with Sporting Lisbon over a deal for £60million-rated Bruno Fernandes, but there has been little progress as the clock ticks down to the transfer window closing on Friday.

'I haven't got any updates for you on transfers,' said Solskjaer. 'I haven't got anything to say now, my mind is on the (Manchester City) game.'

The Norwegian revealed some more positive news on Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, saying: 'We've got players here we're working hard to get back as well.

'It's hard to put timescales on long-term injuries because they also need the training before they are match fit. Paul's had his cast off and Scott took his brace off, so at least they can now start doing some work on the grass.'

Manchester United 'scouting for buyers' for flop Alexis Sanchez despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting he would return and 'prove you all wrong'

* Manchester United are trying to find a buyer for Alexis Sanchez this summer
* The Chile forward is currently on loan at Inter Milan until the end of the season
* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently said Sanchez would return to Old Trafford
* But this looks to be a ploy to ensure his re-sale value does not plummet

Manchester United are desperately trying to find a buyer for Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils forward is currently on loan at Inter Milan and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently said he would return to Old Trafford this summer.

Solskjaer said at the end of January: 'Alexis will come back in the summer and will prove you all wrong.'

Manchester United are trying to find a buyer for Alexis Sanchez who is currently at Inter Milan. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted last month that Sanchez will return and prove people wrong. Ed Woodward and his United scouts have been trying to find a buyer for the Chile international

But this looks to be a ploy to ensure his resale value does not dwindle as the Red Devils are scouring for someone to take Sanchez off their books.

The 31-year-old has a contract until 2022 and earns £400,000 a week - three quarters of which Inter Milan are paying this season.

The Chile international set up Inter's equaliser in their 4-2 comeback victory over bitters rivals AC Milan on Sunday night.

That was his first start since September having been out with an ankle injury for three months.

In fact, Sanchez has not completed 90 minutes in any of his 10 appearances since leaving United on loan.

The Red Devils are lining up two forwards this summer which would rule out space for Sanchez in the squad.

Leicester's James Maddison and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish are also of interest as midfield options.

Default Re: Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez must take a HUGE pay cut of 'at least half' of his £400,000 a week wages to stay at Inter Milan next season as Manchester United flop attempts to impress after injury hell

* Alexis Sanchez has only managed one goal for Inter in an injury-ravaged season
* Chile star earns £400,000 a week at Manchester United, plus more in bonuses
* He would need to accept a big drop in wages to secure a permanent Inter move
* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed Sanchez would return and prove his critics wrong

Alexis Sanchez will need to accept a significant drop in wages if he wants to complete a permanent switch to Inter Milan this summer, according to Tuttosport.

The Chilean's contract with Manchester United is worth a whopping £400,000 a week, with a further £160,000 of bonuses dependent on his success.

Inter agreed to cover just £4.5million of his £21m annual salary when signing him on loan last summer and the Serie A giants will not get close to matching his United deal if they opt to keep him beyond this season.

The Italian publication claim that Sanchez would have to be willing to drop his demands by 'at least half' to secure a permanent move to the San Siro.

That would result in a weekly salary of around £200,000 a week for the former Arsenal star, who has only scored one goal since moving to Milan last summer.

Tuttosport claim that Inter are open to the idea of paying up to £22m to land Sanchez permanently, despite interest in Napoli's Dries Mertens.

However, the Belgian is now reportedly on the verge of renewing his contract in Naples, potentially giving Sanchez a chance to remain in Italy.

Inter will only look to sign the ex-Barcelona star if his form improves in the final two months of the season as Antonio Conte's men battle for the Serie A title.

Alexis Sanchez would have to accept a huge pay cut if he wants to join Inter Milan permanently. The Chile forward was shipped out on loan last summer after failing to deliver at Old Trafford

After playing four games for the club at the start of the season, Sanchez missed three-and-a-half months with a dislocated ankle and tendon damange suffered while representing Chile in October.

He has returned to the fold over the last seven weeks, and managed assists in wins over Udinese and rivals AC Milan last month.

Manchester United had been expected to try to sell Sanchez this summer after allowing him out on loan, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently insisted that the 31-year-old would be back in his plans next season.

Speaking towards the end of the January transfer window, the Norwegian said: 'Alexis will come back in the summer and will prove you all wrong.'

'It has been a traumatic, very torturous year': Alexis Sanchez has had a difficult time at Manchester United and Inter Milan, according to the Chile manager... before backing £400,000 a week winger to recover in the future

* The Manchester United forward is on loan at Serie A outfit Inter Milan this season
* Alexis Sanchez looks set to return to Manchester United after a poor loan spell
* He has struggled to reignite his form from Arsenal while playing at Inter Milan
* Sanchez, who earns £400,000-a-week, has scored just five goals in 45 games

Alexis Sanchez has had a difficult year according to his Chile boss Reinaldo Rueda.

The Manchester United forward is on loan at Inter Milan where he has been in and out of the side with injuries.

'It has been a traumatic, very tortuous year for him. Ever since his departure from Arsenal and his first year at Manchester United,' the Chile boss told SPORT.

'He came to the Copa America in Brazil and then had that bad luck with the injury in the friendly against Colombia in Alicante. That loan to Inter was almost thwarted and when he recovered the pandemic came.

'I expect all this to pass quickly because he's a great professional, has a great attitude in training and will maintain a high standing for any club that gives him a chance.

'He's got a lot of football yet to show at the top level.'

The Manchester United forward is on loan at Inter Milan where he has had a torrid time. Alexis Sanchez has had a difficult year according to his Chile boss Reinaldo Rueda

Sanchez, who earns £400,000-a-week, has scored just five goals in 45 games for United since moving from Arsenal and Solskjaer felt comfortable allowing both the Chilean and Romelu Lukaku, the latter on a permanent deal, to switch to Inter Milan last summer.

His contract at Old Trafford runs until June 2022 and given the gargantuan size of his wages, it could prove tough to shift him if he digs his heels in.

West Ham are reportedly interested in acquiring him but his wages are unlikely to get any deal out of first gear and Solskjaer could be forced to find a way to integrate Sanchez back into the fold.
