Republic of Ireland drawn against Bosnia in Euro 2016 play-off as Denmark face Sweden

* The Republic of Ireland have been drawn against Bosnia in the play-offs
* Martin O'Neill's side finished third in Group D behind Germany and Poland
* Elsewhere, Ukraine take on Slovenia while Sweden face Denmark
* In the final tie of the play-offs Norway come up against Hungary

The Republic of Ireland will have to overcome a tricky play-off draw against Bosnia if they are to reach next summer's European Championship in France.

Martin O'Neill's side came up short in a tough Group D, finishing behind Germany and Poland to finish third, three points ahead of Scotland.

Ireland, who are away for the first leg, have only played Bosnia once in their history, a 1-0 friendly victory, with striker Shane Long notching the only goal of the game back in 2012.

Midfielders James McCarthy, Darron Gibson and defender Seamus Coleman will face Everton team-mate Muhamed Besic in the opposition line-up, which also features Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.

'If there is any slight advantage to be had for us it's that the second game is in Dublin,' O'Neill told uefa.com. 'We need to perform out in Bosnia to make sure that the second game in Dublin means something. We have a chance.

'We have some problems to negotiate with suspensions and who knows what will happen in the next few weeks, injury is always a possibility, but we will go for it and give it everything we've got.

'We had terrific results against Germany, the draw out in Germany and a home win, and because that's so recent we can draw real confidence from it.'

Elsewhere, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his Sweden team-mates will have to overcome rivals Denmark if they're to book their place at Euro 2016.

Sweden finished behind both Russia and Austria in Group G but have home advantage over their neighbours.

The final two play-off fixtures, which will take place next month, see Ukraine take on Slovenia while Norway come up against Hungary.

First leg ties to be played 12th, 13th and 14th

Second leg to be played 15th, 16th and 17th
Ukraine coach Olexandr Zavaroz was pleased with the fixture, saying: 'It is a fine draw for us, we can be happy with that. It would be important to get some advantage in the home leg before heading to Slovenia.

'And it is also important to avoid any underestimation of Slovenia, which was probably the case in the past. Our players have to approach these games with the utmost responsibility.'

First leg ties will take place during November's international break, beginning on the 12th, 13th and 14th.

While, the completion of the qualifying campaign will end on the 15th, 16th and 17th.

Germany, Italy and Belgium among the teams to gear up for Euro 2016 by releasing shirt pictures for next year's tournament

* World Cup winners Germany have unveiled their Euro 2016 strip
* Alongside the likes of Italy and Belgium, they will be favourites next year
* Sweden and Denmark released new shirts before their Euro 2016 play-off

With international week upon us, the friendly matches played by most sides in Europe in the coming days will weigh a little heavier in importance as Euro 2016 nears.

Some of the teams which have qualified for next year's tournament in France have been releasing images of the shirts they will wear for the competition, including some of the favourites such as world champions Germany, Italy and Belgium.

GERMANY

The world champions qualified as Group D winners but it was harder for Joachim Low's side than anyone would have expected, given the manner in which they lifted the World Cup in Brazil a year ago.

They lost against Poland and Ireland, but eventually finished a point above the Poles at the summit of the table.

They have won the European Championships three times before, in 1972, 1980 and 1996 and will be a favourite with many to add a fourth title in France next year. They will play France and Holland in friendlies in the coming days.

ITALY

Italy reached the final of Euro 2012, before being decimated 4-0 by Spain in Kiev.

They qualified for next year's tournament by finishing four points ahead of Croatia in Group H and their preparations will step up with matches coming up away to Belgium and at home against Romania.

Gianluigi Buffon believes the new kit his team will wear can help them go one step further than 2012 in France, and lift the Herni Delaunay trophy.

'Italian people like to present themselves well, especially in our physical appearance and it is important to us that we have a shirt we believe in,' Buffon said.

BELGIUM

Marc Wilmots' side went toe-to-toe with Wales in qualifying for the tournament in France, and eventually finished two points above Gareth Bale's side.

With players such as Eden Hazard, Christian Benteke, Vincent Kompany and Thiabaut Courtois at their disposal, they will be favourites, alongside Germany, to reach the latter stages of the competition.

As well as hosting Italy, the Red Devils will lock horns with Spain in their two friendly matches over the international period.

Belgium, who qualified for Euro 2016 ahead of Wales, will be another favourite to win the tournament

AUSTRIA

Austria stormed into Euro 2016 with nine wins and one draw in Group G, finishing eight points clear of Russia in second.

Midfielder Martin Harnik says the manner of his team's qualification has significantly enhanced the team's morale ahead of the competition. It will be the first event Austria has played in since joint-hosting the competition in 2008 with Switzerland.

'Finishing first in our group for the qualification of the Euros in France was a fantastic result for us and gives us great confidence,' Harnik said. 'We know that we have a strong squad, and we will continue to work hard together leading up to the tournament.'

Austria eased to Euro 2016 qualification with nine victories and one draw in Group G

CZECH REPUBLIC

The Czechs emerged from Group A at the expense of Holland, with Pavel Vrba's side beating the Dutch 3-2 in the final qualifier to seal the fate of Danny Blind's team.

The design for the new Czech shirt has been created with the 1996 shirt in mind, commemorating when the side got to the final before losing to Germany at Wembley.

The Czech Republic hope the new kit (left) can generate similar success to Euro 1996, when they were second

SLOVAKIA

Slovakia added their name to the list of automatic qualifiers by finishing runners-up to Spain in Group C on 22 points, five behind Vicente del Bosque's side.

Many will not fancy Slovakia to progress beyond the group stages of the tournament next year but their qualifying campaign showed signs of a well drilled team by Jan Kozak. Captained by Martin Skrtel at Liverpool, they beat Spain 2-1 in qualifying in October last year.

The shirt Slovakia will wear at Euro 2016, where they will hope to be on the surprises of the tournament

SWITZERLAND

Switzerland qualified for Euro 2016 behind England, with 21 points from their 10 qualifiers.

Roy Hodgson's men earned two hard-fought 2-0 win against Vladimir Petkovic's team, who are captained by Leicester midfielder Gokhan Inler.

They are due to face Slovakia and Austria in friendlies.

Switzerland were runners up to England in Group E of Euro 2016 qualifying with 21 points from 10 games

SWEDEN

Sweden have not qualified for Euro 2016 and face fierce rivals Denmark in a play-off this week.

Should Zlatan Ibrahimovic and co, who have been frequent opponents for England at international tournaments in the 21st century, reach France next year, they will be donning a reworked version of the trademark yellow and blue shirt which features subtly woven dark and light yellow strips across it.

Sweden hope that their trademark yellow and blue shirt will be seen at Euro 2016 in France next year

DENMARK

The Danes finished third in Group I, behind Portugal and Albania.

An encounter against Sweden awaits this week, as the two Scandinavian sides gear up to battle it out over two legs for one place at Euro 2016.

Denmark are gearing up to meet Sweden across two legs as they bid to reach Euro 2016 in France

BOSNIA

Spearheaded by former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, Bosnia finished third in Group B, behind Wales and Belgium.

They play Ireland over two legs starting this week, with the return leg in Dublin.

Spain stars David Silva, Diego Costa and Iker Casillas model new kit for Euro 2016

* Spain have unveiled their new home kit for Euro 2016
* La Roja won the tournament in 2008 and 2012
* Among models of the kit were David Silva, Diego Costa and Iker Casillas
* Vicente del Bosque's side are currently training for two friendlies
* Captain Sergio Ramos is absent from the squad with an injury

Spain have revealed their new kit ahead of the European Championship finals in France next year.

La Roja, who have won the last two tournaments in 2008 and 2012, have varied their traditional design slightly by moving the yellow stripes to the side of the shirt and shorts rather than across the shoulders.

The new kit has been modeled by the whole squad, but Barcelona defender Jordi Alba, Manchester City midfielder David Silva, Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Atletico Madrid playmaker Koke and Chelsea striker Diego Costa also posed for a separate shoot with Adidas.

Vicente Del Bosque's side are currently training ahead of the first match of an international friendly double header agianst England on Friday before taking on Belgium on Tuesday next week.

Del Bosque has been forced to make some changes to his squad after injuries to Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos and Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran.

Their absences have paved the way for call-ups for Ramos' Los Blancos team-mate Nacho Fernandez and Athletic Bilbao's Oscar de Marcos.

A statement from the Spanish football federation (RFEF) read: 'Spain defenders Juanfran Torres and Sergio Ramos are ruled out of Spain's next two games against England and Belgium.

'Vicente del Bosque's chosen replacements are Oscar de Marcos and Nacho Fernandez, who will join the squad on Tuesday morning.'

Nacho, the 25-year-old defender, is aiming to win a third cap for La Roja and is in form, having scored the winner for Real in their Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain last week.

De Marcos, 26, has been rewarded for his regular appearances in the Bilbao side with a first international call-up.

Germany unveil new grey adidas away kit with green sleeves for Euro 2016

* Germany unveil new away kit ahead of Euro 2016 in France next summer
* World champions' new change strip features grey front and green sleeves
* Joachim Low's side looking to claim fourth European Championship title

World champions Germany have shown off their new away kit ahead of next summer's European Championship in France - a grey adidas shirt, with white shorts and socks.

Joachim Low's side, who went out at the semi-finals stage of the previous two Euros, unveiled the smart new strip at an adidas event in Paris on Thursday.

They will be looking to go one better next summer and claim their fourth title, their first since triumph in England in 1996.

Per Mertesacker was flanked by a host of young up-and-coming German talents as new away kit was unveiled

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker was in attendance at the event but was flanked by a host of young German footballers.

Red Bull Leipzig youngster Nicolas Kuhn was among those given a shot in the limelight.

Germany's new away strip showcases the nation's World Cup triumphs with four gold stars over the badge.

The sleeves are coloured green while the front features two shades of grey going horizontally across the shirt.

Official Euro 2016 ball Beau Jeu revealed ahead of next summer's finals in France

* Euro 2016: See the latest qualifier news, fixtures and highlights
* Beau Jeu, which translates as 'the beautiful game', has a French theme
* The ball will be given to all competing nations by the end of November
* Gareth Bale says Beau Jeu performed 'brilliantly' in training sessions
* European Championship will be held in France from June 10 to July 10
* The new ball will be available to buy worldwide from November 13

France legend Zinedine Zidane took to Instagram on Thursday morning to give the world a first glimpse at the official ball for next summer's European Championship.

Beau Jeu, which translates as 'the beautiful game', was created by adidas over 18 months and aims to represent the host country of France while retaining the popular elements of the Brazuca, which was used at last year's World Cup in Brazil.

The new ball will be given to all competing nations by the end of this month, allowing players ample time to practice with it before the start of the tournament.

The name of the new ball, Beau Jeu, can clearly be seen in this close-up shot of the Euro 2016 ball

Manufacturers adidas spent 18 months developing Beau Jeu, which translates as 'the beautiful game'

Zinedine Zidane was at the official presentation of the new ball, showing he still has a perfect technique

A number of Europe's biggest stars have already had a chance to get to grips with Beau Jeu, with Wales talisman Gareth Bale praising the ball.

The Real Madrid forward said: 'I already tested Beau Jeu in training with long shots, passes and running at pace. It performed brilliantly. I can't wait for the tournament to start.'

Beau Jeu uses the same panel shape as the Brazuca, although adidas have made improvements to the surface structure and blocking to offer better grip and better visibility.

Blue, white and red - the colours of the French flag - feature prominently, while 'Euro 2016' can be seen through the blocking design.

Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas is confident Beau Jeu will be a success in France next summer.

The Spain stopper said: 'We already got to use Beau Jeu in some intense training sessions.

'As a goalkeeper, it's important to have the chance to take goal-kicks, practice shot-stopping, punch, catch, and throw any new ball. Beau Jeu is going to be great at Euro 2016.'

Beau Jeu will be available to purchase from November 13 at adidas retail outlets and specialist retailers worldwide.

Euro 2016 will go ahead, organisers promise in wake of Paris attacks

Talk of cancelling Euro 2016 would be "playing into the hands of terrorists", according to the head of the tournament's organising committee.

Jacques Lambert promised France would take the "necessary decisions" to ensure next summer's event took place in safety in the wake of Friday's attacks in Paris in which 132 people were killed and hundreds more injured.

The incidents - following on from the killing of 12 people by gunmen in January - has naturally raised concerns about the country's hosting of next year's European Championships, but backing down now is not an option for the hosts.

France is hosting Euro 2016

"To ask questions about the cancellation of Euro 2016 is to play into the hands of the terrorists," Lambert told French broadcaster RTL.

"The risk level was up a notch in January, and it just got up a notch.

"We will take the necessary decisions for Euro 2016 to take place in the best safety conditions.

"I will not reveal what we are going to do because that would alert our opponents.

"The security in stadiums works well, the risk is more out in the streets, in spontaneous gatherings."

French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet echoed those sentiments, insisting safety must be a priority.

"We will do whatever it takes to ensure security despite all the risks that entails. I know everyone is vigilant," he said.

"Obviously this causes us to be even more vigilant but it is a permanent situation for the federation and the state."

The FFF cancelled the draw for the eighth round of the Coupe de France, scheduled to take place at Paris' Vincennes racecourse on Tuesday.

Confirmation of a new date and venue will be made as soon as possible for the draw between the 88 teams due to play on December 5 and 6.

However, it is business as usual for the national team, with all 23 members of the France squad - including Lassana Diarra and Antoine Griezmann - flying to England for Tuesday's friendly at Wembley.

Diarra's cousin Asta Diakite was one of the victims, while Griezmann's sister managed to escape the mass killing at the Bataclan theatre.

France coach Didier Deschamps gave players the chance to withdraw, but none did after the FFF declined the Football Association's offer to cancel the match.

The Wembley Arch will be lit up in the red, white and blue colours of the French flag to show solidarity with the visiting nation.

Screens will show the French motto 'Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite' outside the ground and before kick-off the words of La Marseillaise - the French national anthem - will be shown to help any England fans who want to join in.

The FA has urged fans to get to Wembley early as there will be increased security checks in light of the attacks.

More than 14,000 have signed an online petition asking FA chairman Greg Dyke to give proceeds from the game to the French Red Cross and French charity Medecins Sans Frontieres to help support victims of the attacks.

All around the world this weekend sport has paid its respects and offered support, with the French tricolour prominent at many events.

On the grid before the start of the Brazilian Grand Prix the drivers stood for a minute's silence which was already scheduled to remember those who had been killed in road traffic accidents over the year, but was subsequently also used as a moment to remember the Paris victims, with driver Sebastien Grosjean holding his national flag.

World rally champion Sebastien Ogier refused to celebrate his victory in the Wales Rally GB, placing a tricolour over his Volkswagen Polo's windscreen at the end and holding it on the podium at a muted presentation ceremony.

The German Football Federation (DFB) confirmed Tuesday's friendly fixture Holland will proceed as scheduled.

Germany were forced to sleep at the Stade de France after Friday's 2-0 friendly defeat by France, but in a show of support insist the horrific incidents will not affect their plans.

"The message is clear - we will not be intimidated by terror," said DFB vice-president Dr Reinhard Rauball.

"Head coach Joachim Low and every single player gave their respect for this demonstration of solidarity for the victims and the entire French population."

Team manager Oliver Bierhoff added: "We wanted to set a stance of togetherness as a team. With the French population, with all those connected to the victims. The whole team, players, coaches and backroom staff - it's still affecting them a lot."

Bath chairman Bruce Craig has suggested his team's fixture against Toulon, which was postponed on Saturday following the attacks, may never take place due to the difficulty of rescheduling it.

The fixture was one of five rugby matches to be called off on Saturday. Officials are due to meet on Monday to discuss rescheduling the games, but Craig believes it will prove impossible in Bath's case due to fixture congestion following the Rugby World Cup.

"It is very clear to me that the Toulon match can't happen," Craig told the Daily Telegraph.

"The midweek option is not an option to my mind as that would to the detriment of player welfare as well as the integrity of two competitions, an important Champions Cup game being squeezed in with all the attendant travel issues between two Premiership weekends.

"There is no way we should be letting that happen. You can't play three high-profile games in a week.

"In the wider context of what has happened in Paris, this is not a serious matter, of course it isn't. And I do understand why the decision was taken.

"But from a rugby point of view, and from the point of view of the competition, this is an issue of significant consequence. There is no place to fit it in. It is a bit of a disaster in that regard."
