Benfica ngga sekuat sebelumnya.. Apalagi sejak Ditinggal beberapa pemain penting termasuk si Coentrao, David Luiz, Ramires, Gomes.. Ya meski tetep aja mereka harus kudu diwaspadai. karena belum tau 2 klub lainnya, bisa jadi United ama Benfica yg lolos ke fase selanjutnya...

Re: [2011/2012] UEFA Champions League Matches [Drawing Results]
Champions League review
Barca, Arsenal denied by late levellers Soccernet - September 13, 2011 European champions Barcelona began the defence of their title with a 2-2 draw at home to AC Milan, who scored in both the first and last minute of the Champions League Group H opener. Alex Pato stunned the Camp Nou crowd after just 24 seconds to put Milan ahead, but Barca fought back with a Pedro strike from close range and a delightful free-kick from David Villa putting them back into the lead. However, Pep Guardiola's side were to be denied at the death, as Thiago Silva leapt highest to head the Rossoneri level more than 90 minutes after they had opened the scoring. Elswhere in the group, Renan Bressan's strike denied Viktoria Plzen a victory as they had to be content with a point in a 1-1 draw against BATE Borisov. The Czech side looked set for a dream start to life among Europe's elite when Marek Bakos, who scored six in qualifying, put them ahead on the stroke of half-time. But Bressan latched on to Filipp Rudik's pass 21 minutes from the end to ensure the spoils were shared in Prague. Arsenal were also undone by a late goal against Borussia Dortmund, Ivan Perisic's superbly-taken volley equalising Robin van Persie's opener to earn the German champions a 1-1 draw. With Gunners boss Arsene Wenger forced to watch from the stands due to a touchline ban, it looked as if Van Persie had snatched an unlikely victory in Germany. Having withstood a barrage of first-half attacks, the Dutchman latched onto Theo Walcott's through ball to fire home three minutes before the break. However, Dortmund continued to dominate in the second period with their brand of free-flowing football and their tactics paid dividend with just two minutes remaining. The ball broke free to Perisic on the edge of the box and the summer signing unleashed a wonderful volley to equalise, much to the delight of the raucous home support who were watching their side in Champions League action for the first time in nine years. In the night's other Group F encounter, Marseille put their disappointing domestic form behind them to claim their first win of the season - a 1-0 victory at Olympiakos. OM have managed just three draws from their opening five Ligue 1 fixtures but Lucho Gonzalez's second-half strike gave them a deserved victory in Piraeus. A brilliant goal from David Luiz and a late Juan Mata strike spared Chelsea's blushes on Andre Villas-Boas' Champions League debut as they stumbled to a 2-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in Group E opener. Villas-Boas had insisted before the game that the Blues were not further than ever from realising Roman Abramovich's dream of European glory. But they did little to show that they were about to end their billionaire owner's eight-year quest until a moment of inspiration from marauding defender Luiz midway through the second half. Genk and Valencia shared the points as their opening clash in Group E finished in a goalless draw at the KRC Genk Arena. Valencia, who started last season's group stages with a thumping 4-0 away win over Bursaspor, came the closest to netting a winner when Adil Rami's overhead kick struck the crossbar midway through the second half. The result leaves the two teams in joint second place in the standings. Hulk made up for missing a penalty to score a vicious free-kick as Porto came from behind to launch their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in Group G. The Brazilian hit the bar before seeing his spot-kick come back off the post, only for the Ukrainian champions to take the lead when Adriano pounced on an awful error by Porto goalkeeper Helton. However, Hulk made amends when he sent an unstoppable shot past Olexandr Rybka with a little under half-an-hour gone. Pinheiro Kleber then tapped home in the second half in a match which saw Shakhtar finish with nine men, Yaroslav Rakitskiy and Dimitro Chygrynskiy both given their marching orders. Elsewhere, Apoel Nicosia scored twice in three second-half minutes to come from behind against Zenit St Petersburg and open Group G with a deserved 2-1 win. Gustavo Manduca scored one and created the 75th-minute winner for Ailton as the hosts recovered from conceding to Konstatin Zyryanov against the run of play. Zenit were dealt another setback when Bruno Alves was sent off for a second yellow card with 14 minutes to go, but they piled on late pressure and might have snatched a point had Viktor Fayzulin's shot gone in rather than hit the bar. |
