Manchester United ‘eye up £10million move for Norwich defender Ben Godfrey after his Championship heroics’

* Ben Godfrey has been a key figure in Daniel Farke's Norwich City line up
* He has impressed scouts and the defender is now a target for Man United
* Godfrey is valued at around £10million and signed a new contract last year

Manchester United are looking to make a move for Norwich defender Ben Godfrey, who is rated at around £10million.

According to The Sun, United have been impressed with his form in the Championship this season, helping Norwich to a clear lead at the top.

Scouts went to watch Godfrey play against Rotherham last weekend, and were treated to a goal from the defender which helped them to a 2-1 victory.

Ben Godfrey has been a key figure in Daniel Farke's Norwich City line up since breaking in. He earned an England Under 20 call up, and now he is a target for Manchester United

Godfrey has been an important figure in Daniel Farke's line up since breaking into the team earlier this season.

He has been solid at the back and has also racked up three goals and two assists in his 23 Championship matches so far.

Norwich have developed a reputation for getting big fees for players, selling James Maddison, Josh and Jacob Murphy, and Alex Pritchard for a combined £55million, and are said to be in little mood to sell.

They are protected after Godfrey signed a new five-year contract in the summer of 2018.

However, with interest from the likes of RB Leipzig and now Manchester United, it may be hard to keep hold of him.

Godfrey's form earned him a call up to the England Under 20 team for the Under 20 Elite Fixtures. He made his debut in a 3-1 defeat to Poland at St. George's Park.

Manchester United face competition from Juventus to sign Benfica starlet Ruben Dias in £34m deal... with Italians conceding defeat in race to sign Barcelona-bound Matthijs de Ligt

* Juventus have conceded defeat in the race to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax
* They will now turn their attention to Benfica starlet Ruben Dias in the summer
* Dias is seen as a long-term replacement for Juventus' ageing defensive stars
* The Italian giants face competition for his signature from Manchester United

Juventus have conceded defeat in the race to sign Matthijs de Ligt this summer and will now turn their attention to Benfica starlet and Manchester United target Ruben Dias.

De Ligt, a highly regarded central defender, is edging closer to a move away from Ajax this summer and the Nou Camp appears to be his most likely destination.

Fresh from raiding the Dutch giants for Frenkie de Jong, Barca want to tie up a deal for his team-mate. They are hoping to beat off interest from a host of Europe's top clubs including Juve, PSG, Bayern Munich and Atletico and Real Madrid.

Ruben Dias is a target for Juventus after they conceded defeat in the race for Matthijs de Ligt. A deal for Dias would reportedly cost £34.2m, a relatively low figure for a long-term signing

As a result, Juventus have now moved on to a new target for the centre of their defence with Benfica's Dias among the prime candidates, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Dias shares the same agent - Jorge Mendes - as Juventus stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Cancelo and it is hoped that negotiations will be routine.

Juve are hoping to sign Dias as a long-term replacement for Andrea Barzagli, with the 37-year-old moving close to the end of his career. First-choice pairing Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonnuci are 35 and 32 respectively also.

Dias, who has also been earmarked as a replacement for Diego Godin at Atletico Madrid, would reportedly cost €40million (£34.2m).

Juve already face competition in the race to sign Dias though with Manchester United reportedly ready to splash £250m on young Portuguese trio Joao Felix, Dias and Bruno Fernandes.

According to the Mirror, they could come at a cost with Dias valued at £50m, while Felix has a £105m release clause and Fernandes' is set at £95m.

Dias and Felix are both graduates of Benfica's youth system, with defender Dias earning eight senior international caps while Felix earned a call-up for the March internationals.

Ander Herrera could be off to Arsenal on a free transfer if the Spaniard leaves Manchester United this summer

* Ander Herrera's Manchester United contract is set to run out in the summer
* He will be available on a free transfer, with Arsenal understood to be interested
* He has also received interest from other clubs but it's believed he wants to stay

Ander Herrera admits his Manchester United future is up in the air with Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal interested in signing him on a free transfer this summer.

Herrera will be out of contract at Old Trafford in June and negotiations that started 18 months ago have reached deadlock.

United are still hopeful of persuading him to sign a new deal and it's believed the 29-year-old midfielder would prefer to stay.

But Herrera is unhappy the club have allowed talks to drag on as the clock runs down after initially offering him little more than some of the junior first-team players at United.

It's believed he is looking for a significant increase on his current £80,000-a-week deal to closer to £150,000 having re-established himself as a regular starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but United insist the deal must be fair to both sides.

The former Athletic Bilbao man has been able to speak to foreign clubs since January 1, allowing PSG to open talks with his representatives over a lucrative move to France.

Ander Herrera's contract at Old Trafford runs out in June and he could be leaving Man United. It's believed the 29-year-old midfielder would prefer to stay at the Premier League side. He has had interest from a number of clubs with Arsenal possibly getting him on a free transfer

Sportsmail understands that Arsenal have also registered an interest in Herrera if he decides to leave United at the end of the season after five years at Old Trafford.

Both clubs can offer him more favourable terms because there would be no transfer fee involved.

'I do not concern myself with what will happen in four months, so I do not know if my time here is over,' said Herrera in response to speculation over his future.

'It's logical when you've got three months left on your contact and there is an international break. I knew something would come out.

'I take it as normal. I focus on playing football in the month-and-a-half that remains (of the season). The rest is left to my agent, both the possible renewal with United and any talks with another club for my departure.

'I enjoy playing for the biggest club in England. The fans love me, they have treated me phenomenally and my duty is to listen to them - although I honestly do not know what is going to happen.

'What I see myself is trying to win at Watford next week. If you deserve rewards and if you are an honest and hard-working person, they arrive.'

Juan Mata is in a similar situation at United as talks continue over renewing a contract that also expires in the summer.

The club are desperate to agree new terms with David de Gea, the third Spaniard on the books at Old Trafford, and have bought themselves more time by triggering a 12-month option to keep the goalkeeper under contract until next year.

Barcelona consider selling defender Samuel Umtiti to Manchester United as they look to fund move for Ajax centre back Matthijs de Ligt

* Barcelona want Matthijs de Ligt to be Gerard Pique's long-term replacement
* However Ajax want the same €85m Barcelona have just paid for Frenkie de Jong
* Barca would listen to offers for Samuel Umtiti, who has had injury problems

Barcelona would consider selling Samuel Umtiti to Manchester United this summer if it helped them sign their No 1 target, Matthijs de Ligt of Ajax.

The current La Liga leaders want the 19-year-old Holland international to be Gerard Pique's long-term replacement, but Ajax want the same €85million for the player as Barcelona have just paid for Frenkie de Jong, along with wages and payments to De Ligt's agent Mino Raiola.

If they are to beat Bayern Munich to the player's signature they will have to sell, and Umtiti – who has dropped below Clement Lenglet in the pecking order – is one they would listen to offers for.

United's biggest concern would be 25-year-old Umtiti's injury problems. He has missed three months of this season with a cartilage problem in his left knee that he has elected not to have operated on.

Despite the fact that Lenglet has overtaken him in the Barcelona team, France coach Didier Deschamps still preferred Umtiti in his squad.

Sportsmail understands Barcelona players would be against the sale of a man who played a major role in the team winning the league last season.

Barcelona are making Luka Jovic No 1 target this summer… but Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is next in line for Nou Camp move

* Barcelona have made Frankfurt's on-loan striker Luka Jovic their No 1 target
* The Catalan giants have also been linked with a move for Marcus Rashford
* The club are looking for 32-year-old Luis Suarez's long-term replacement
* Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann is also being touted as a possible target

Barcelona’s No 1 summer striker target remains Luka Jovic despite stories in Spain on Tuesday linking the club with a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

Barcelona have pinpointed Rashford as a possible alternative if they lose out on Jovic in what they fear is fast turning into an auction for the 21-year-old Serbian forward.

With that concern in mind Barcelona's sporting director Eric Abidal was in Portugal on Monday night for the Portugal v Serbia Euro 2020 qualifier.

Barcelona have made Frankfurt's on-loan striker Luka Jovic their No 1 summer transfer target

The Benfica-owned striker did not come off the bench but, more than a ‘spying mission’, the trip was an opportunity for Barcelona to make their interest in the player clear and to speak to face-to-face with his representatives.

They have already reached the conclusion they have seen enough of Jovic having watched him on a regular basis in the last few seasons.

Barcelona sent a three-man party to Milan this month to watch him in action in the Europa League for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Abidal came away from that game convinced he can be the long-term replacement for 32-year-old Luis Suarez.

The Catalan giants have also been linked with Manchester United star Marcus Rashford. El Mundo Deportivo reported that Rashford is a target for Barcelona

Barcelona’s chief scout for the Bundesliga, Goran Vucevic, has been watching the player since he broke through at Red Star Belgrade three years ago and the club believe a £50million offer this summer will secure his services.

But that concern about the player’s price rising between now and the end of the season remains.

While it seemed they were stealing a march on Europe’s other big clubs last year, there is now a crowded field in pursuit of a player who has 15 goals in 18 starts in Germany.

El Mundo Deportivo reported on Tuesday that Bayern Munich have already tabled a bid for the player.

He is also on Jurgen Klopp’s radar should Liverpool be unable to keep Sadio Mane at the end of the season and Juventus are also looking to rejuvenate their highly effective but ageing attacking options.

Barcelona do not want to be caught out in the summer if Jovic’s price continues to increase. They want to finalise the signing before then as they were able to do with Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

If they do not sign Jovic then Rashford is high on their shortlist of alternatives providing he doesn’t sign an extension to his current deal that runs out in 2020.

Barcelona want a forward who could play in any of the front three positions but who would ultimately replace Suarez. Rashford, like Jovic, would fit that profile.

The club are also looking for a player who will be happy not being a regular starter in his first season at the club.

They feel that secondary role would be easier for the more inexperienced Jovic to accept than Rashford.

Antoine Griezmann is the other name on the club’s agenda but he would cost £102m and they will only look to the Frenchman if Paris Saint-Germain make a bid in excess of £102m for Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembele this summer.

Callum Hudson-Odoi still wants to leave Chelsea this summer with Bayern Munich leading the race to sign him... but Barcelona and Manchester United are also interested

* Callum Hudson-Odoi made his England debut in the recent international break
* The 18-year-old winger pushed to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window
* But he still wants to depart in the summer, with Bayern Munich leading the race

Callum Hudson-Odoi remains intent on leaving Chelsea this summer, with Bayern Munich at the front of the queue to sign the England winger.

The 18-year-old reinforced his soaring profile as one of Europe’s biggest talents by making his first two senior England appearances in this international window — with his performance in Monday’s 5-1 win over Montenegro particularly eye-catching.

But despite his breakthrough week, Hudson-Odoi still wants to leave Stamford Bridge at the earliest opportunity.

Callum Hudson-Odoi still wants to leave Chelsea when the transfer window opens again. Hudson-Odoi is frustrated at the lack of Premier League opportunities he has had this season

The teenager is frustrated at the lack of Premier League opportunities he has been given this season by manager Maurizio Sarri, who is yet to hand Hudson-Odoi his first top-flight start.

The Chelsea academy graduate wanted to leave in January, but the club refused to sell him to Bayern despite the Germans offering £35million.

Since then, Hudson-Odoi has played just 50 minutes in the Premier League, but he has made two Europa League starts. Bayern lead the race for the player, but Barcelona and Manchester United are also interested.

Representatives from Bayern’s Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund were at Wembley on Friday to watch Hudson-Odoi’s England debut.

Chelsea are desperate to keep the forward and have already offered him a deal worth £80,000 a week.

The club are willing to risk Hudson-Odoi entering the final year of his contract next season, but may not hold firm if they receive offers in excess of Bayern’s £35m January bid, with the player able to leave relatively cheaply in 2020.

Manchester United 'line-up stunning £170m raid' for English stars Jadon Sancho, Declan Rice and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in summer window

* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plans to overhaul the core of the squad at his disposal
* Declan Rice, Jadon Sancho and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could cost a total of £170m
* Solskjaer is expected to soon be confirmed as United's full-time manager

Manchester United are reportedly lining up a stunning triple swoop for young English trio Declan Rice, Jadon Sancho and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

According to The Sun, the three youngsters have been identified by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as potential additions because he wants to bolster the core of his team with English players. If the moves come off, it could cost up to £170m.

Both Rice and Sancho have made their senior international bows this season under Gareth Southgate, while Wan-Bissaka is an England Under 21 international.

Declan Rice could be one of three players targeted by Manchester United in the summer

Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho is another to have been linked with United

Borussia Dortmund attacker Sancho was once on the books of United's fierce rivals Manchester City.

He left for Germany in 2017, establishing himself as a first-team regular at Dortmund and has four England caps so far.

Rice has been one of West Ham's key men this season and the defensive midfielder recently switched allegiances from Ireland to England before making his debut under Southgate in the recent international schedule.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are set to face a battle to retain defender Wan-Bissaka after another impressive season at Selhurst Park.

Solskjaer is expected to soon be confirmed as the United manager on a full-time basis.

The Norwegian has led United to 14 wins from 19 games since replacing Jose Mourinho on an interim basis in December.

United, currently fifth in the Premier League and two points off the top four, are back in action on Saturday against Watford at Old Trafford.

bagus sih memburu pemain lokal, poin minusnya kalo dipanggil timnas takut pada cedera, krn pemain yg diincar merupakan pemain timnas masa depan

Leicester ready to keep Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell and James Maddison from clutches of Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham

Leicester City will resist any summer attempts by the Premier League elite to lure their bright, young talent.

Manchester United are long-terms admirers of England defender Harry Maguire and considered a move last summer.

Manchester City have been tracking full back Ben Chilwell as Pep Guardiola is keen to bolster his defensive options.

Midfielder James Maddison has caught the eye of Tottenham after an impressive debut season following his move from Norwich City.

But the Daily Mirror reports Leicester owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha and new boss Brendan Rodgers are adamant they won't be tempted into cashing in on players who are tied down to long-term deals.

Rodgers knows other clubs will show interest in his players.

'It is all pretty straightforward. It allows me to work in the club how I would want to and that was obviously very, very important.'

Marco Verratti, Toni Kroos and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are all on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s summer shopping list… here are the stars that could be coming to Old Trafford

* Toni Kroos, Marco Verratti and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are on Man United's wishlist
* The club are looking to strengthen right back and central midfield this summer
* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will see if he is permanent boss before eyeing moves
* Sportsmail assesses a number of stars who could make the switch this summer

Manchester United are likely to focus their transfer window attentions on bolstering right back and central midfield should the club appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a permanent basis.

The Norwegian has impressed since taking interim charge from Jose Mourinho in December, winning 14 of his 19 games in charge.

But for all of his successes both domestically and in Europe, Solskjaer is under no illusions that he would need to close the gap on the sides at the very top. Sportsmail looks at six players that find themselves on the club's radar ahead of the window...

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Position: Right back, Cost: £40m

United have been well aware for some time that Antonio Valencia's days were numbered and while Diogo Dalot arrived from Portugal last summer, the club need to bolster at right back.

Ashley Young has filled in for much of the campaign with Matteo Darmian's career in a United shirt all but over.

Wan-Bissaka has been a revelation in his breakthrough season for Crystal Palace and as of earlier this month, no player in Europe's top five leagues had made more successful tackles.

Crystal Palace are under no pressure to sell but with the reputation of the Englishman soaring, a sizeable offer could tempt them to cash in.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is enjoying an impressive breakthrough season for Crystal Palace

Joao Cancelo

Position: Right back, Cost: £65m

While Wan-Bissaka is already a regular in the Premier League and would be able to make a seamless transition from London to Manchester, another option could well be Juventus' Joao Cancelo.

The 24-year-old only joined the Italian giants last summer on a five-year deal worth £35m.

Experience in the Champions League - he impressed in the 3-0 fightback against Atletico Madrid last month - gives Cancelo an edge on Wan-Bissaka.

But Cancelo would not come cheap. He appears settled in Turin and Juventus would want to make a sizeable profit on a player that is continuing to become a force down the right for them.

Joao Cancelo would not come cheap but has Champions League pedigree with Juventus

Saul Niguez

Position: Central midfield, Cost: £80m

Believed to be disgruntled under Diego Simeone, Niguez is likely to find himself involved in a tug-of-war between Manchester United and Manchester City.

Once likened to United legend Bryan Robson by Sir Alex Ferguson's brother and scout, Martin Ferguson, Saul looks a player in the mould United are after in central midfield.

The £52m acquisition of Brazilian midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer has not paid off and Solskjaer will want to improve central areas in a bid to free up Paul Pogba defensively.

The Atletico man has the ability to be an effective box-to-box player and while he would cost a premium, would be a marquee arrival for the Norwegian manager.

Saul Niguez can play a box-to-box role and would add star quality to United's midfield options

Ivan Rakitic

Position: Central midfield, Cost: £55m

The 31-year-old is in a tough situation come the start of next season after the club looked to signal the end of his days as a starter having agreed a £65m deal for Ajax teenager Frenkie de Jong.

Many at the Catalan club expect the young Dutchman to slot straight into the midfield in place of the Croat and it is likely to put clubs like United on red alert as to his availability.

At 31 his peak years may have been and gone but he is still a classy operator in the middle of the park.

His release clause may stand at £108m but the arrival of De Jong could see Barca ease their stance and allow the World Cup runner-up to depart for half of that price.

Former United boss Jose Mourinho heaped praise on Rakitic recently but it is the opinion of Solskjaer that really counts.

Ivan Rakitic looks set to lose his starting spot next season and could angle for a move away

Marco Verratti

Position: Central midfield, Cost: £90m

The diminutive Italian looks comfortable in Paris but would represent one of the best in his position should United be compiling a list of targets.

Earlier this year in the first leg of United's Champions League last-16 tie with PSG, Verratti was one of the standout performers on the night, underlining his credentials at the highest level.

The 26-year-old has long been viewed as a future Premier League player but he seems to have no burning desire to leave the flush French champions.

It would take a giant fee to prize him away - and similar terms for his contract - but it would represent a real coup if United can place him alongside Pogba and Matic in the centre of the park.

Marco Verratti is a classy midfielder but appears to have no desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain

Toni Kroos

Position: Central midfield, Cost: £50m

For some United fans this move comes six years too late given the German, then one of the hottest prospects in European football, looked on the verge of a switch to Old Trafford under David Moyes.

That move did not materialise and Kroos went on to be a hit in Madrid, eventually playing a starring role in three Champions League successes under Zinedine Zidane.

With United's midfield options looking somewhat light with an over-reliance on youngsters such as Scott McTominay, Kroos, now 29, would be able to bring his exquisite passing range.

Best suited in a three-man midfield, the German could let Pogba roam free on the left while providing the passes to set a three-pronged attack away.

Toni Kroos could find himself on the way out of Real Madrid as they have a major overhaul

Default Re: [2018-2019] Manchester United ~ Transfer Rumors

Real Madrid set to launch transfer bid for £125m Man United star as promised by Zidane

Real Madrid are reportedly set to try their luck with a transfer swoop for Manchester United star Paul Pogba this summer.

The France international’s name is back in the headlines again at the moment, with his future in some doubt despite a major improvement in form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.

However, with Zinedine Zidane back at Real Madrid, it looks like United may now have some cause for concern.

That is because, according to the Sun, Zidane previously told Pogba he’d try to sign him again one day after also being in for him while he was at Juventus.

And the report goes on to say Madrid are now prepared to pay big for the 26-year-old as they eye a major summer revamp, with the player expected to cost as much as £125million.

Paul Pogba to be the subject of a big bid from Real Madrid?

If Real can lure Pogba away from Old Trafford it could be great business for them, but it would be an absolutely nightmarish start for Solskjaer as permanent Man Utd manager.

The Norwegian has been a big hit as interim boss, with Pogba playing a key role in his side’s fine form, so to immediately lose him in his first summer in charge of transfers would be a very challenging setback to recover from.
