Bale goes crazy for his new boots! Real Madrid ace 'can't wait' to test new wheels
Crazy and light. These are the Ronseal of football boots and do exactly what it says on the tin. They are the new adidas F50 crazylight, which weigh an incredible 135 grammes and are inspired by a garish green and black arrow design. Gareth Bale has been exclusively testing them during behind-closed doors training sessions at Real Madrid and will be the first and only player to wear them. The Wales superstar will debut them in Tuesday's Champions League last 16 second leg clash against Schalke at the Bernabeu. 'I've tried them out already in training and they feel great,' said Bale, who also tweeted a picture gearing up to wear his new 'wheels'. 'Lightweight boots definitely give me an advantage over the competition and I feel faster and more agile the lighter the boots become. 'Hopefully I can score a few goals in them over the next few weeks. 'I can’t wait to wear them on field.' The adizero f50 are the lighest commercial boot ever produced and are 20 per cent lighter than the boots currently worn by Bale, Lionel Messi and Arjen Robben. It follows the world's first knitted boot which Luis Suarez put to good use in Sunday's 3-0 Barclays Premier League win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, in which he scored. The German sports brand giants are keen to push the boundaries further having produced a concept boot weighing only 99g last year. The crazylight boot that Bale will showcase on Tuesday cost £250 (available to buy from April 1) and are drastically reduced in weight on the upper part. In addition to the new lightweight upper skin, the speedtraxion stud configuration on the outsole has been rearranged in order to increase traction, while also further decreasing the overall weight of the boot. The pattern on the outsole is laser etched and a premium anodized coating is also added to minimise weight. They look crazy and former Tottenham ace Bale will be hoping to drive defenders crazy when he wears them. Code:

The first style is a unique Fish Skin which has been tanned and crafted with a gold hand finish to replicate the Golden Boot awarded to the tournament's top scorer and just 30 pairs have been created worldwide. The second style, in which 70 pairs have been created, has been crafted from a rich brown Italian leather with to evoke a 'premium heritage feel' to 'recall football’s glorious past'. Re: Coolest Cleats in World Football Right Now
Adidas release limited edition Predator to celebrate 20th anniversary of iconic boot made famous by David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane
* Adidas Predator boot celebrates 20th anniversary with Instinct 'tongue' boot * Boot was conceived by former Liverpool favourite Craig Johnston in 1994 * David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane wore Predators throughout their career * Limited edition design will not be available to buy in shops The boot that helped David Beckham to bend it and inspired Zinedine Zidane throughout his illustrious career is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a retro, limited edition design. Adidas revealed the new Predator Instinct boot which is a throwback to the original black boot, with red tongue, created by former Liverpool star Craig Johnston in 1994. Johnston's iconic prototype, which had the front of a table tennis pad held onto the boot by a rubber band, was purchased by the German sports giants two decades ago after the Aussie convinced legends Franz Beckenbauer, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Paul Breitner to test them. They have since become one of the most popular football boots of all time, memorably worn by Beckham and Zidane. And Jonny Wilkinson famously kicked England to World Cup glory in 2003 wearing the rugby version of the boot. The 20th anniversary celebration of the Predator - complete with the classic red tongue look - will not be available to buy in shops, however. But the brand, who earlier this week announced their £750million 10-year kit partnership with Manchester United from 2015-16, are planning to release a new set of Predators that will be worn by a host of stars for the start of next month's new Barclays Premier League season. Re: Coolest Cleats in World Football Right Now
BOOT REVIEW: What was the top scoring shoe in the Premier League last season? And who are the new contenders bidding to become No 1?
* Nike, adidas, Puma, Umbro, New Balance and Under Armour head to head * Nike Mercurial's top scored last season with Alexis Sanchez their star * Sergio Aguero scored 26 goals with Puma evoSPEED boots The battle of the brands is bigger than ever before in the Premier League. Manchester United will next week enter their record breaking £750million 10-year kit deal with adidas, while their former suppliers Nike are left to focus solely on Manchester City. Puma have interest in four top-flight teams, while Umbro, Macron and newcomers New Balance represent two apiece. And then there's Cabrini, Errea and Under Armour. Kits aside, the real fight for attention takes place on the feet of the top stars. Last season the 'Swoosh' came out on top. Boot experts SoccerBible compiled a ranking of the highest-scoring studs with Nike bossing the charts. Alexis Sanchez's 16 goals for Arsenal added to the Mercurial's haul of 213 goals scored by players wearing the model throughout the year. In second place, adidas trailed behind by 51 goals in the form of their Diego Costa inspired-F50s. Their monopoly was eventually broken up five places down, with Sergio Aguero's 26 goals taking the Puma evoSPEED into seventh. In Spain the F50s (then worn by Lionel Messi - who has his own signature pair - and Luis Suarez) battered Ronaldo's Mercurials in the rankings by a staggering 74 goals, while topping the charts in the Bundesliga too. Yet Nike restored their overall dominance with the Mercurial far and away the No 1 goalscoring boot in France and Italy. The top scoring boots in the Premier League, 14-15 The response? Two new pairs of boots from adidas: Ace and X. New Balance - who have oust Warrior - are hot on the scene after unveiling a host of stars earlier in the year who will wear their brand. Under Armour - the brand in vogue thanks to the achievements of golf's Jordan Spieth and tennis' Andy Murray - boast Manchester United's £25m new boy Memphis Depay as their leading talent. So, the question is: which brand will come out on top this year? One thing you can be absolutely sure of is there will be florescent colour and, quite frankly, outrageous designs galore, gracing grounds up and down the country - ridiculously changing after just three or four months. However, you might be pleasantly surprised to see the odd pair of traditional black boots standing out from the crowd. Here, Sportsmail has identified the leading boots that will dominate the Premier League this season in an ultimate lowdown... Nike - Hypervenom Hang on, what about the Mercurial? Didn’t you say they were the top-scoring boots in Premier League last season? Yes... but the Hypervenom has been created for out-and-out strikers. Chief among them England stars Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane. Man United boss Louis van Gaal has told Rooney he will be United's leading forward this term - and the Old Trafford skipper is targeting a minimum of 20 goals. That's one shy of Kane's league haul last year. So, between them, they could propel the ‘green strike and black’ Hypervenoms to new heights. So, what's good about the boot? Built for high speed attacking, the Hypervenoms are naturally sleek, weighing just 210g, yet promote agility and power for shooting. They are devastatingly bold, of course. The conic stud configuration compensate for quick turns and fast movement. And they have a unique 'Dynamic Fit Collar', the grand sock-feel innovation introduced by Nike in Barcelona back in 2014 for the Magista book but now available in Hypervenom and Mercurial form. But what truly stands out on the boot is the NikeSkin texture layered around the boot for amplified touch with ACC (All Conditions Control) technology to keep it in prime state whatever the weather. Perfect for Rooney up in Costa del Manchester... How much are they? £230. Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane will hope to shine wearing the Nike Hypervenom boot this season The Hypervenoms are naturally sleek, weighing just 210g, yet promote agility and power for shooting Adidas - X ‘Raw, untamed and unmistakable’. Gone are the famous Predators after 20 years. Out are the lethal F50s, reliable nitrocharge and 11pro. X is of two new weapons of choice from the German boot giants and they are partly inspired by the creative vision of Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola - who believes there are two types of player in the game today: 'It’s chaos or control,’ said Guardiola. ‘You need both. They are part of the game. Part of the field. 'You need players who have to analyse what you have to do. And there are other ones who have to be a bit free and show his talent as much as possible. When you have a team you mix both types of ideas. You have a big advantage.' The unmissable X design is intent on ‘breaking down order and causing chaos in the opposition’s final third’. Indeed, you won’t miss the plethora of top stars wearing the bright, enigmatic design. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Diego Costa and Liverpool new boy Roberto Firmino are among the Premier League contingent while the likes of Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez sporting them in Spain. So, what's good about the boot? It’s the first adidas design to have a tech-fit collar... yes, a ‘collar’ still a sock. The solar yellow boots have an ultra-light X-SKIN upper ‘for quick moves into and out of the box’ and a non stop grip (NSG) texture to help ‘keep the ball where you need it’. The X-CLAW stud configuration is impressive to and the makers say it ‘helps players manoeuvre the ball around their opponents and keep everyone guessing about what's coming next on firm and artificial ground’. How much are they? £155. The adidas X have been praised by Pep Guardiola and they 'cause chaos in the opposition's third' New Balance - Visaro The rocket boots. Remember Samir Nasri’s thunderbolt against Roma last season? Or Aaron Ramsey’s rasping wonder goal in Istanbul against Galatasaray? Both came courtesy of the Visaro - a boot designed to ‘make chances and control the game’. After replacing sister brand Warrior, the Visaro is one two new concepts delivered by New Balance to spearhead the American brand’s assault on the market - Furon (worn by Manchester rivals Adnan Januzaj and Jesus Navas) being the other. Nasri and Ramsey will wear the updated bolt and flame (that’s blue with a tinge of red and white to me and you) Visaro edition to start the new season with Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany also looking to put them to good use. So, what's good about the boot? The Visaro offers a ‘low pressure zone instep’ for instant control, with a ‘medial pivot zone’ in place to provide stability and aid quick turns. Tiny mesh craters cover the boot with a pro-form last design to provide ‘unsurpassed feel and unbelievable comfort’. They look nice too... and are available in the Bryan Robson-esque old school black colourway. How much are they? £135 Samir Nasri and Aaron Ramsey will be wearing the New Balance Visaro boots this season The Visaro is one two new concepts delivered to spearhead the American brand’s assault on the market Under Armour - Speedform At last: black boots! They come in an ‘emerald lake’ colour too but traditionalists will applaud the rare sight of the black Speedform in the Premier League this season as Memphis Depay looks to take English football by storm. The Dutch international has genuine A-list credentials. So, a step in the right direction for Tottenham’s kit makers with previous ambassadors Bobby Zamora, Michael Dawson and Brad Friedel no longer plying their trade in the top-flight. So, what's good about the boot? Did I mention that they are black? Above all, Speedform are seriously smart thanks to its no nonsense design. Under Armour are the boom brand in sport and with Depay wearing them, these boots could prove to be very popular. Designed for speed (clue’s in the title), a ‘seamless anatomical heel cup’ provides fit and feel while there is a form-fitting synthetic upper with a toe box moulds to ‘deliver zero distraction’ to the foot. In English, that basically means the technology is in place to help prevent any metatarsal trouble. Impressive, given that they weigh 210g. How much are they? £180 Under Armour's speedform present a rare black boot in the Premier League this season Umbro - Speciali The timeless Speciali has been rebooted for the new season, fittingly named ‘Eternal’. Alan Shearer and Michael Owen provided eternal memories wearing the classic black and white boots throughout their respective careers. Umbro, who lost on their long-standing deals with England and Manchester City following their $225m sell-off to Iconix by Nike three years ago, are re-emerging as a football powerhouse after adding West Ham and Dutch champions PSV to their club portfolio. And they have Real Madrid defender Pepe wearing the Speciali on the big stage along with Tottenham’s Eric Dier sporting the ‘double diamond’. So, what's good about the boot? Kangaroo leather makes them more durable than most of today’s modern speed-influenced products. It has a dipped achilles heel design for comfort and stability, plus a new wishbone sole plate with 13 configured studs to reduce pressure on the foot. And, best of all, a classic tongue that folds over the top of the laces. How much are they? £90. Another black boot: The Umbro Speciali is a timeless classic that has been rebooted for the new season Puma - evoSPEED ‘Dash and destroy’ is the mantra for these boots, worn by Manchester City hitman Sergio Aguero. Back in 2011, shortly after his stunning arrival in the Premier League, the Argentine was persuaded to quit Nike and pick up a basic deal of £1.25million-a-year just for being the German company’s worldwide icon. At the time, it was the most lucrative player sponsorship deal in the history of English football. Some persuasion, right? Aguero, 27, has been worth every penny for Puma and last season he won the Premier League’s Golden Boot prize after scoring 26 goals in his evoSPEED collection. So, what’s good about the boot? The lava blast/total eclipse combination makes the evoSPEED the Ferrari of football boots. Its ultra-thin textile upper reduces the weight of the boot for enhanced speed. The speedtrack spine wrapped from the heel across the sole ‘improves reactivity’ and offers ‘torsional stability’. And the laser-cut speedframe across the front of the foot ‘provides support during forward acceleration and quick turns’. How much are they? £180 Code:
