Munich - The Bundesliga plate wrapped up in record time and domestic milestones smashed by the dozen: you might well be wondering how incoming FC Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola can possibly top the Bavarians' treble-winning exploits of 2012/13.




Home return

Bayern picked up 44 points from the 51 on offer at the Allianz Arena over the course of the 2012/13 campaign (14 wins, two draws and one defeat), but that was still five short of the 49-point tally Bayern's class of 1972/73 share with FC Schalke 04 (1971/72) and VfL Wolfsburg (2008/09). To top that, the record champions will need to win all 17 of their home assignments next season. In his four years at FC Barcelona, a flawless first half of the season evaded Pep Guardiola, whose best run came back in 2009/10 (15 wins and four draws).




Home advantage

Bayern posted some impressive numbers in front of their own fans last term, among them 56 goals scored and just 11 conceded. In 1971/72, though, Gerd Müller and Co. stuck away 69 at home, while Werder Bremen let in only five on Weser soil 19 years later in 1992/93. Barcelona hit the net a whopping 73 times during 2011/12, albeit in 19 outings, but not once during Guardiola's four-year tenure did they concede fewer than ten league goals in a single season.




Away joy

Bayern's 42 goals scored on the road still weren't enough to top Bremen's 43-goal count of 2006/07. Barcelona struck 49 times away from Camp Nou in 2010/2011, again in 19 league outings.




On the road

Jupp Heynckes' men found the net at least once in their last 19 away games; Hamburger SV enjoyed an even longer run of 27 between August 1981 and February 1983. Barcelona came close to matching the Red Shorts' run when, between April 2010 and November 2011, Guardiola's tiki-taka troops strung together a 26-game scoring streak on the road, before losing 1-0 at FC Getafe.




Winning streak

From Matchday 18 through to Matchday 31, Bayern won 14 games on the bounce: only one victory shy of their own Bundesliga best mark of 15, achieved over two seasons in 2005. Going one better, though, are Guardiola's 2010/11 alumni, who set a Liga record of 16 wins on the trot.




Unbeaten run

Guardiola will inherit a Bayern side unbeaten in 25 Bundesliga outings and hot on the heels of record holders Hamburger SV (36 games, January 1982-83). The Catalan tactician certainly has form on that front, having seen his Barcelona side go 31 La Liga outings without defeat in 2010/11 alone (matchdays 3-33). As far as single-season records go, Borussia Dortmund's 28-match stretch (2011/12) remains a Bundesliga high.




Shutouts

Despite conceding a new Bundesliga low of just 18 goals and recording 21 clean sheets during the 2012/13 campaign, Bayern still couldn't quite match VfB Stuttgart's run of nine consecutive shutouts (2003). Barcelona racked up seven successive clean sheets in Guardiola's first season in charge while, in 2009/10, Barca goalkeeper Victor Valdes trumped Bayern legend Oliver Kahn's record (19 in 2001/02), surrendering just 20 goals in 38 league outings.




Hinrunde

Winter champions in record time, but bronze medallists when it comes to their overall performance during the first half of the season (13 wins, three draws and one defeat). In 2005/06, Bayern notched 14 wins in the run up to the winter break - a number later matched by Dortmund in 2010/11. Guardiola will join the club prepared to hit said record out of the ballpark having guided Barcelona to 17 wins, one draw and one defeat during the first half of the 2009/10 La Liga campaign.

Ribery has signed a new four-year contract

Winger Franck Ribery has signed a new four-year contract with Bayern Munich, the Champions League winners have announced.

The 30-year-old Frenchman joined the German outift in the summer of 2007 from Olympique Marseille and has since then made 237 appearances for the club, scoring 79 times.

"I'm very happy. I've always said, I feel at home at Bayern," said Ribery. "I have a good feeling for me and my family, and I hope it goes on like last year."

VIDEO: Bayern net 15 goals in Guardiola debut

Pep Guardiola kicked off his Bayern Munich reign with a comfortable 15-1 victory over a local supporters' club in front of 11,000 spectators.

Guardiola, 42, was unveiled as Bayern's new boss last week and held his first training session on Wednesday before taking to the dugout on Saturday.

The treble winners started with a side including captain Philipp Lahm, Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer while Toni Kroos and Franck Ribery both came on at the break as Guardiola took a look at 21 players in a 15-1 victory.

Muller was on target in the first half with Kroos finding the back of the net in the second, but it was youngster Patrick Weihrauch, a player tipped to emerge under Guardiola, who stole the show with four goals.

Centre-back Jan Kirchhoff made his debut in the back four following his summer move from Mainz.

Lahm: Bayern menikmati pengaruh Guardiola



Pep Guardiola sudah membuat kesan yang baik di skuad Bayern Munich, menurut kapten klub Philipp Lahm.

Mantan bos Barcelona pindah ke juara Bundesliga pada bulan Juni dan mengawasi kemenangan 15-1 atas pendukung klub lokal pada Sabtu.

Sementara ia kemungkinan menghadapi tantangan tegas selama waktunya di Allianz Arena, Lahm yakin masukannya itu sejauh ini telah berharga.

"Kami hanya bekerja bersama selama tiga hari, namun, jelas dia positif gila tentang sepak bola dia adalah seseorang yang mengawasi detail dan bekerja dengan sangat baik dengan tim juga seseorang yang memiliki pikiran terbuka," kata pemain internasional Jerman.

Mueller mengatakan: "Dia berbicara bahasa Jerman dengan sangat baik, tetapi dari waktu ke waktu yang dibutuhkannya untuk menulis sesuatu, jika itu sampai tahap sulit.

"Saya pikir mengenai fakta bahwa ia hanya belajar bahasa enam bulan lalu dan Jerman tidak benar-benar dekat dengan Spanyol dia melakukan pekerjaan yang besar. Tapi kita semua juga berbicara sedikit bahasa Inggris, jadi jika ada kata yang hilang daripada yang kita katakan dalam bahasa Inggris dan maka itu baik-baik saja. "

Ribery Ungkap Perbedaan Pep dan Heynckes



Okezone, MUNICH – Pemain sayap Bayern Munich Franck Ribery mengatakan setelah tiga hari berlatih di bawah asuhan Josep Guardiola dirinya menemukan beberapa perbedaan antara sang arsitek anyar dengan pelatih sebelumnya Jupp Heynckes.

Winger eksplosif berusia 30 tahun yang kontraknya baru saja diperpanjang hingga 2017 itu mendapat kesan bahwa Guardiola amat komunikatif. Selain itu, metode latihan yang diterapkan Guardiola pun berbeda dibanding Heynckes tanpa merinci lebih lanjut.

“Dia bagus. Dibandingkan dengan Jupp, ia memiliki banyak perbedaan. Latihan yang berbeda, metode yang berbeda, ia juga pelatih yang banyak berbicara pada pemainnya,” kata Ribery seperti dikutip Soccerway.

“Dirinya selalu positif dan selalu menginginkan tim menjadi lebih baik lagi. Ini jelas hal yang baik,” tambah Ribery.

“Kini kami harus berlatih lebih giat. Selalu sulit bila berlatih usai liburan, tapi kali ini tampaknya bagus,” cetus Ribery.

Seperti diketahui, pelatih asal Catalan berusia 42 tahun itu mulai memimpin latihan Bayern Munich sejak Kamis (27/6) kemarin. Pada pramusim ini, Bayern dijadwalkan bakal menghadapi Brescia (9/7), Sonnenhof Grosspach (13/7), Hansa Rostock (14/7), dan Barcelona (25/7) sebelum bertemu Borussia Dortmund di ajang Piala Super Jerman pada 28 Juli.

Bayern Munich new-boy Gotze reveals Hummels apology

The Germany international says his now former club team-mate has said sorry for criticising his move to the Allianz Arena

Mario Gotze has revealed Mats Hummels has apologised for questioning his move to Bayern Munich after he was unveiled by the Bavarians on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old's decision to leave Borussia Dortmund and join rivals Bayern, after the Bundesliga champions met his €37 million [£31.7m] release clause, sent shockwaves through German football back in January.

And though the dust has settled somewhat in the months that have passed, that didn't stop BVB centre-back and Gotze's now former team-mate Mats Hummels from suggesting the move was motivated by money last Thursday.

However, the midfielder insists their relationship remains a good one and was keen to put the matter to bed as he was presented to the media.

"I read what was said. Mats apologised to me in person. There is nothing more to add," he told reporters.

Gotze's arrival sees him become coach Pep Guardiola's first signing at the Allianz Arena since taking over from predecessor Jupp Heynckes.

And he admitted he has already spoken to the Spaniard, while adding that the allure of joining the treble winners was just too great to resist.

"He [Guardiola] asked me how I am and when I will be fit again and if I feel comfortable here. It was important to me, to speak with the coach for the first time," he continued.

"I am just happy to be here. Sportingly, it is the right way for me. It was important to me, to start something new. It is the whole package."

The Germany international was forced to sit out the Champions League final between now former employers Dortmund and Bayern because of a hamstring injury, with Gotze targeting a swift return to action.

"I have do adapt to new surroundings, new team-mates, a new coach and a different philosophy. First, I have do do my rehabilitation. Then it is my claim to reach goals with this team and play good football."

Gotze has signed a four-year-deal with Bayern until the summer of 2017.
