Man United officials enter transfer talks to complete £47m move for dream midfielder

It has been reported by the Manchester Evening News that the executive vice-chairman of the Red Devils, Ed Woodward is ready to launch mega offer to seal the deal for Benfica’s talented midfielder Renato Sanches, who has been closely monitored by Man United since the beginning of the season.

The 18-year-old Renato Sanches, who has been amazing this season, has been heavily linked with a switch to United. Woodward is looking to secure a move for the prospect as quickly as possible to fend off potential competition from rival clubs, as reported by Manchester Evening News.

Sanches, who is rated as the brightest young talents in world football, had an average pass accuracy of 79% in the Champions League this season.

The Old Tafford side will be determined to strengthen their squad considerably in the summer transfer window as they look to re-establish themselves at the pinnacle of the English game.

Alongside with Benfica’s Renato Sanches, Man Untied are considering to make official bid for Real Madrid’s out-of-favour superstar, James Rodriguez. The Colombian attacker has lost his place at Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI and is likely to leave Santiago Bernabeu in summer, but La Liga giants are asking at least £60m for the signature of 24-year-old playmaker.

Bayern sign Portugal starlet Renato Sanches

FC Bayern München, Portugal international Renato Sanches (18) and the player’s club Benfica have agreed terms bringing the midfielder to FCB for the start of the 2016/17 season. Renato Sanches rates as one of the most talented young players in European football. The player completed the obligatory pre-transfer medical in Munich on Monday and has signed a five-year contract binding him to the German champions until 30 June 2021.

“FC Bayern has been watching Renato Sanches for a long period,” commented FC Bayern München AG chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, “we’re pleased we’ve been able to sign him despite big-name international competition. Renato is dynamic, a good tackler and a technically skilled midfielder who’ll add even more strength to our team.”

Bayern deputy chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen commented: “The transfer fee for the current international, who was voted the Shooting Star of Portuguese Football in his home country yesterday evening, is €35 million, plus possible bonus payments that could become due if for example the player is named in the World Team of the Year or FIFA World Player of the Year.”

Bayern Munich beat Manchester United to sign Benfica ace Renato Sanches after agreeing deal which could rise to £63m

* Manchester United have lost out in race to sign midfielder Renato Sanches
* Bayern Munich will pay an initial fee of £28m but could pay up to £63m
* United had opened talks with Benfica's top brass but have been trumped
* Bayern Munich have also announced the signing of Mats Hummels

Manchester United have been dealt a significant blow with news Benfica starlet Renato Sanches has joined Bayern Munich in a deal which could rise to £63million.

United have been tracking the 18-year-old but have been made to pay for failing to finalise a deal for the Benfica man.

Sanches' transfer to Bayern Munich could suggest Jose Mourinho's proposed move to Old Trafford is off as both the former Chelsea boss and the Bayern Munich new boy are clients of Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes.

Bayern Munich have announced the signing of Renato Sanches from Benfica for £28m - the Portugal international signs a contract alongside chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

Sanches poses for a photo with Rummenigge after putting pen to paper on a five-year deal

Portuguese wonderkid Sanches becomes the first signing under Carlo Ancelotti, who will take over from Pep Guardiola at the end of the season.

Sanches has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Bayern after Benfica agreed to cash in on the teenager in a deal worth an initial fee of £28million.

The Bundesliga champions, who retained the German league title at the weekend, could pay an additional £35m due to several additional clauses inserted into the agreement between the two clubs.

Bayern will pay a considerable amount more if Sanches wins the Ballon d'Or and is named in FIFA's World XI during his time in Germany.

A statement on Benfica's official website read: 'Benfica can announce it has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the permanent sports athlete rights of Renato Sanches for the amount of €35million.

'Please note that the agreement is planned in addition amounts, a total amount of €45m, dependent on the achievement of goals and he is contracted until June 30, 2021.'

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said of the transfer: 'Renato Sanches has been observed by Bayern Munich for a long period.

'We are delighted to have signed him despite renowned international competition. Renato is a dynamic, two combative and technically gifted midfielder who will strengthen our team further.'

The German giants confirmed the move on their Twitter account before posting a video of Sanches being put through his paces on a bike machine during his medical.

Thomas Muller also took to the social media network to welcome Sanches to the Allianz Arena: 'Welcome to Munich, @MatsHummels and Renato Sanches #FCBayern .'

There had been hope at Old Trafford that they had done enough to secure the teenager after Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira arrived in London a fortnight ago.

United met with club officials in the capital earlier this year to discuss the deal and sent scouts to watch Sanches play for Portugal against Belgium in March.

The lively box-to-box midfielder has played 34 games this season — scoring two goals — but was sent off in the weekend win at Maritimo.

Sanches is Portugal’s hottest prospect since former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Red Devils beat off competition from major European rivals to sign Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 but have failed to raid Portugal for their latest sensation on this occasion.

United have kept close tabs on the 18-year-old, watching him on countless occasions since he made his Benfica breakthrough.

Sanches' deal at Benfica was due to run until 2021 and he was being targeted by Real Madrid and Barcelona as well as both United and Bayern Munich.

Benfica signed Sanches from Aguias Musgueira at the tender age of nine in 2006.

There was no fee involved in the deal but the Portuguese giants agreed to donate 25 footballs to their Portuguese counterparts but are yet to do so.

Bayern have also re-signed defender Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund for £30million.

Jose Mourinho wanted to sign Renato Sanches... but arrived at Manchester United too late to seal the deal

* Renato Sanches signed for Bayern Munich earlier this summer
* Manchester United were interested in the Portuguese teenager
* Sanches starred for his country as they won Euro 2016 in France

Jose Mourinho would have fought for the signature of Portugal wonderkid Renato Sanches if he had arrived in the Manchester United hotseat earlier.

The 18-year-old joined Bayern Munich from Benfica in an initial €35m (£29m) deal in May, despite strong interest from the Old Trafford club.

Sanches then went on to enjoy a storming Euro 2016 with Portugal, where he claimed the Young Player of the Tournament as well as the trophy itself in Paris.

The midfielder scored in the quarter-final shootout victory over Poland and started in each of his country's knockout games in the competition.

And United boss Mourinho has admitted he is a huge admirer of the teenager, and could have signed if he had begun his tenure earlier.

Speaking to SportTV he said: 'I arrived [at Manchester United] late. I signed in May, we started talking a week before, but completely out of the process. If I had arrived earlier, I'd fight for him.

'Manchester United watched Renato many times and maybe I did it even more. In so much time at home, I watched many Benfica and Portuguese league games, I got to know the boy better with time.

'He's in a big club, in a league where he'll certainly be the champion. The club have players of very high level which belong to the structure, a little like Benfica.'

Mourinho begins his Old Trafford reign in the Community Shield against Leicester on Sunday.

Rio Ferdinand rues Manchester United failing to sign Renato Sanches: 'I'd have dragged him by the hair to us'

* Rio Ferdinand: Manchester United should have signed Renato Sanches
* Former United defender believes 19-year-old should have been prioritised
* Portugal midfielder joined Bayern Munich from Benfica for around £29m
* Ferdinand has been impressed by the level of maturity shown by Sanches

Rio Ferdinand is surprised Manchester United were not more aggressive in their pursuit of Portugal midfielder Renato Sanches, who joined Bayern Munich from Benfica last summer.

Ferdinand has claimed that if he were a United scout, he would have 'dragged Sanches by his hair' to the club, given the player's supremely gifted technical abilities for someone so young.

The 19-year-old completed an initial €35million (£29m) deal in May to join the Bundesliga champions, and United boss Jose Mourinho has since admitted that he would have fought for the signature of the wonderkid had he arrived in the hotseat earlier.

Manchester United were beaten to the signature of Renato Sanches by Bayern Munich. Former United defender Rio Ferdinand feels the club missed a trick missing out on Sanches

Ferdinand, who was part of the last United squad to win the Premier League in 2013, believes the current set-up would have benefited greatly from going all out to sign Sanches above all other transfer targets last summer.

'If I was a Man United scout, Renato Sanches would already be at the club,' Ferdinand told Portuguese daily A Bola. 'I'd have dragged him by his hair and said "let's go"'

'Renato is a modern player: Aggressive, strong, powerful, got technique, can shoot and pass. I like him. He's young, but takes responsibility.'

Sanches - who has made 10 appearances for Bayern under Carlo Ancelotti this season - enjoyed a storming Euro 2016 for Portugal, where he claimed the Young Player of the Tournament as well as the trophy itself in Paris.

The bustling midfielder also won the Golden Boy award for Europe's best young player earlier this month, pipping England international Marcus Rashford for the prize.

Manchester United on red alert as Renato Sanches admits he is ready to leave Bayern Munich this summer

* Bayern Munich spent £27.5million on Renato Sanches last summer
* But the midfielder could well leave the club after just one year in Germany
* Sanches has admitted that he is not satisfied at the Bundesliga champions

Renato Sanches has declared he is unhappy at Bayern Munich and wants to leave the German giants.

Sanches, who cost Bayern £27.5million when he made the move from Benfica last summer, only made six Bundesliga starts for the Bavarian club last season and admits he is itching for a move.

That news could go down well at Old Trafford, with Manchester United reportedly among the midfielder's admirers.

Renato Sanches has admitted he is not happy at Bayern Munich and could leave this summer

'Personally, I am not satisfied with my first year in Munich,' Sanches told Bild. 'Of course, I'd like to play more.

'That's why I would like to change and go to a club that can give me more minutes.'

AC Milan have been linked with the teenager, who said: 'AC Milan is an interesting option.

'If the opportunity arises and the clubs can agree, I would like to see them.

'I am now on the China tour with FC Bayern, but after that we will get together in Munich and hopefully find a solution.

'I'm young, I want and I have to play a lot. I think the chance to do so is greater in Milan than in Munich.'

Only last week, Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said the club could well sell Sanches this summer.

'He is a player who needs to play regularly,' he said. 'So if we feel he is not going to get enough game time, then we will loan him out, or maybe even sell him.

'Last season, particularly after the winter break, he didn't get enough appearances.

'That wasn't because of the coach, it was because of [Sanches] himself.'

Manchester United set to miss out on Renato Sanches as Bayern Munich midfielder 'agrees four-year deal to join AC Milan' in £35m transfer

* Renato Sanches has been linked with a move to Manchester United
* Jose Mourinho has confirmed he is in the marker for a midfielder this summer
* However the 19-year-old now looks set to join AC Milan in a £35million transfer

Manchester United look set to miss out on Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches.

The Portuguese ace has been linked with a move to Old Trafford to hook up with compatriot Jose Mourinho, who confirmed yesterday that he was in the market for a midfielder.

He was heralded as a future star after his performances at Euro 2016 and Bayern snapped him up for £27.5million - however he has failed to make an impact in Germany and is free to leave.

Renato Sanches played for Bayern in their victory over Chelsea on Tuesday but that could be his last game for the club as he closes in on a move to AC Milan

According to L'Equipe, he won't be heading to Manchester; instead the 19-year-old is set to join Italian giants AC Milan.

They say he will sign a four-year contract at the San Siro for around £35million as Milan continue their huge summer of spending.

Sanches admitted recently that he was seeking an exit from Bayern and that he was open to joining Milan.

'AC Milan is an interesting option,' he said. 'If the opportunity arises and the clubs can agree, I would like to see them.

'I am now on the China tour with FC Bayern, but after that we will get together in Munich and hopefully find a solution.'

Mourinho has spoken previously of his attempts to sign Sanches, but failed to seal a deal because of his late arrival in Manchester last year.

'I signed in May, we started talking a week before, but completely out of the process.

'If I had arrived earlier, I'd fight for him.

'Manchester United watched Renato many times and maybe I did it even more.'

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with both Nemanja Matic and Eric Dier, along with Sanches, as potential solutions to their midfield problems.
