Steve Bruce masih manager Hull City??

Semoga bisa promosi kembali ke EPL. Kalau promosi lagi, anaknya bakal di tarik lagi ga yah. Sayang cuma jadi cadangan di tim sebelah.

The Championship promotion race: Who will claim the £100m prize of a place in the Premier League?

* All 24 Championship teams are in action on Tuesday evening
* League leaders Burnley host Cardiff in what could be pivotal clash
* Hull, Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday are all vying for promotion

There has never been a better time to win promotion to the Premier League.

The new £5.1billion television deal takes effect from August and even the bottom placed team is guaranteed £100million next season.

Ahead of a pivotal night of action in the Championship, ADAM SHERGOLD takes a look at the runners and riders in the promotion race.

1st BURNLEY

Premier League pedigree: Last season saw the Clarets relegated from the top-flight with two matches left and they ultimately finished five points from safety.

Season so far: An initial hangover following relegation was soon converted into an excellent run that saw Sean Dyche’s men second in November. A December blip raised concerns but they’ve responded with a 16-match unbeaten run since.

Manager: Burnley kept faith with Dyche following relegation and he is on course to take them into the Premier League for a second time.

Star man: Andre Gray was a club record signing at £6m from Brentford but that’s represented fantastic value given the striker’s 21 goals in 34 league games so far.

Prediction: Promotion as champions

2nd MIDDLESBROUGH

Premier League pedigree: In the top-flight between 1998 and 2009, Boro fans are desperate to see them return to the elite.

Season so far: Pre-season favourites took a while to get going before hitting their stride in November and December. Bolstered their attack by signing Jordan Rhodes in January and seem to have recovered from suggestions boss Aitor Karanka was set to leave last month.

Manager: The former Real Madrid man is a fan favourite and, having suffered play-off heartbreak to Norwich last season, will hope to do things the easier way this time.

Star man: Adam Clayton has been a model of consistency in the Boro midfield all season and is the club’s Mr Dependable with his passing and tackling.

Prediction: Promotion in second.

3rd BRIGHTON

Premier League pedigree: Haven’t played in the top flight since the early 1980s.

Season so far: A sensational start saw Brighton go the first 21 matches unbeaten and it looked for a while like they might run away with the title. A festive blip of four losses in five checked momentum but they’ve returned to impressive form since.

Manager: Chris Hughton has revitalised the club following a terrible 2014-15 campaign which saw them finish just two places above the drop zone. The former Newcastle, Norwich and Birmingham boss has transformed them into a very different proposition.

Star man: Bringing in Israeli frontman Tomer Hemed from Almeria in Spain has proved an inspired signing, with 13 goals scored and plenty of defenders troubled.

Prediction: Miss out in play-offs.

4th HULL CITY

Premier League pedigree: Finished 18th and came down last season so hoping for an immediate return.

Season so far: Haven’t dropped out of the play-off places all season though hit a patch of inconsistent form of late when their FA Cup run caused a fixture pile-up. Need a final surge now.

Manager: Steve Bruce guided Hull into the Premier League in 2013 and is now well-placed to repeat the feat. Plenty of experience of these tight promotion contests.

Star man: Abel Hernandez struggled for goals in the Premier League but the Uruguayan has found the second tier more to his liking with 16 to date.

Prediction: Promotion via play-offs.

5th SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

Premier League pedigree: There until 2000, Wednesday have found it a long and winding road back, even dropping down to League One for a couple of seasons. Back on track at last.

Season so far: Early inconsistencies have been ironed out and Wednesday have entered the play-off race almost by stealth. Have played some of their best football since the turn of the year.

Manager: Popular Portuguese Carlos Carvalhal arrived last summer and has gradually restored the pride at Hillsborough.

Star man: Portugal forward Lucas Joao was one of Carvalhal’s first signings and his threat to opposition defences has made him a fan favourite.

Prediction: Miss out in play-offs.

6th DERBY COUNTY

Premier League pedigree: Their last season in the top-flight – 2007-8 – was pretty ignominious with just one win and 11 points gained in all.

Season so far: Paul Clement arrived, took time to get going before finding excellent form, then was being sacked following a rotten run in January. Recent defeats mean play-off place isn’t guaranteed.

Manager: Former youth coach Darren Wassall took over when Clement was surprisingly removed in February.

Star man: Centre forward Chris Martin supplies goals, assists and creativity in abundance and will be needed from now until the end of the campaign.

Prediction: Miss out on play-off place.

THE CHASING PACK

Cardiff, Ipswich, Birmingham and Preston are hunting down the top six and will ensure a fascinating finale with just seven rounds of matches to play.

Championship round-up: Moussa Dembele eases Fulham relegation fears as Paul Lambert considers future at Blackburn

* Fulham put pressure on their rivals with a impressive 2-1 win at Preston
* Blackburn Roves lost 2-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday and had 10-men
* Matt Derbyshire gave Rotherham lead but they drew 1-1 with Bristol City
* Jack Price gave Wolves a 2-1 win over MK Dons after going behind
* Ipswich were booed by their own fans as they drew 0-0 with Charlton
* Middlesbrough beat Huddersfield 3-0 as Premier League march goes on
* A late penalty denied Leeds as they drew 1-1 at Elland Road with QPR

Moussa Dembele struck to give Fulham a 2-1 win at Preston to move them seven points clear of relegation.

Ross McCormack put Fulham ahead in the fifth minute but Marnick Vermijl beat keeper Marcus Bettinelli to equalise.

Fulham, who are the Championship’s second-highest scorers, behind Burnley, won it in the 74th minute. McCormack’s curling free-kick came back off the post and fell to Dembele, who tucked the ball past Anders Lindegaard.

Blackburn manager Paul Lambert will consider his future at the end of the season after questioning the ambition of owners Venky’s. He has submitted plans for a summer overhaul and said: ‘There has to be leadership and talking about how to reduce the debt. We need to know exactly what way the club wants to go.’

Rovers were beaten 2-1 at Shefield Wednesday despite taking the lead through Craig Conway. He was sent off for a foul on Fernando Forstieri in the 51st minute, shortly after the Owls equalised with an Adam Henley own goal. Ross Wallace scored the winner 11 minutes later.

Rotherham boss Neil Warnock called Lee Johnson a ‘disgrace’ after taking exception to comments the Bristol City manager made before the sides drew 1-1 at Ashton Gate.

At his post-match press conference, Warnock read from an article in the Bristol Post in which Johnson urged his side to win the game through ‘aggression, good football or intimidation’.

Warnock, whose side were pegged back by Peter Odemwingie after half-time following Matt Derbyshire’s 12th-minute opener, said: ‘He (Johnson) did my team talk for me. We stood up to the intimidation. He said how he wanted the crowd to intimidate and that’s what they tried to do.

‘Luckily we had a strong referee who stood up to it. I thought it was a disgrace, I know he’s a young manager, but it was almost inciting the crowd.’

Ben Osborn gave Nottingham Forest the lead four minutes before half-time at Reading but ended up losing 2-1. Reading equalised through Matej Vydra and Oliver Norwood completed the comeback in the 81st minute.

A late penalty cost Leeds in a 1-1 draw at Elland Road. Chris Wood broke QPR’s resistance in the 70th minute but in the 87th minute Giuseppe Bellusci pulled back Sebastian Polter and Tjaronn scored with the spot-kick.

Ipswich were booed off by their own fans after being held 0-0 at Portman Road by Charlton.

Middlesbrough strengthened their grip on a return to the Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the Riverside.

Goals from Grant Leadbitter and a Gaston Ramirez double wrapped up all three points.

Burnley 1-1 Middlesbrough: Michael Keane scores last-gasp equaliser to cancel out Jordan Rhodes' opener in top-of-the-table Championship clash

* Second-placed Burnley hosted Championship table-toppers Middlesbrough
* Prolific striker Jordan Rhodes once again netted for Aitor Karanka's Boro
* The Scotland star scored in the 70th minute at Turf Moor on Tuesday night
* Burnley defender Michael Keane landed a dramatic injury-time equaliser

As usual, the Championship promotion race is going down to the wire with the top three clubs separated by only two points following Michael Keane's injury-time equaliser for Burnley.

Leaders Middlesbrough thought they'd done enough to take a massive step back into the Premier League when Jordan Rhodes scored with a poacher's effort after 70 minutes, the first shot on target of a predictably tense and scrappy affair.

But Burnley stretched their impressive run to 20 matches when Keane converted a Matt Taylor corner at the start of six minutes overtime to stay ahead of Brighton in second-place on goal difference.

It's set to be a pulsating final three games of the season with the top-flight riches on offer for the two clubs that go up automatically.

You'd be advised to book your tickets for Middlesbrough-Brighton on the final day early.

Not surprisingly, rival managers Sean Dyche and Aitor Karanka had vastly differing views of Tuesday night's events at a bouncing Turf Moor.

Karanka, in a mild swipe befitting a good friend of Jose Mourinho, suggested Burnley's football was less pure than his own team offered.

'We always tried to play football and we had our chances to score a second or third goal. They started to play long balls. But it is their style and it's been good for them.'

Dyche almost scoffed at the route one suggestion. 'I don't think everyone else saw it like that,' he retorted.

'I thought the calmness of our play was excellent and an equaliser was the least we deserved. It would have been an injustice if we'd lost that game.'

With so much at stake, it was predictable that the game would have more bite and tension than quality.

When Boro's Grant Leadbitter floored Joey Barton in a battle of the midfield hard-men after a couple of minutes, it set the tone.

The first hour saw 20 shots fired in – none of them on target. Most were hopelessly wayward though Albert Adomah's effort from the edge of the box was a noticeable exception and struck the crossbar.

Boro, whose chairman Steve Gibson has bankrolled seven years of trying to get back into the Premier League, finally struck 20 minutes from the end.

Stewart Downing swung in a free-kick which Daniel Ayala headed on for Rhodes to clip in from four yards.

It was the £9million striker's fifth goal for Boro since his on-off transfer from Blackburn was finally completed on deadline day in January. Karanka will be thankful it was.

Burnley responded like a team that has forgotten how to lose. George Boyd had a shot blocked brilliantly by Ben Gibson.

Then, at virtual last-knockings, Matt Taylor's corner bounced around the penalty area like a pinball before Keane almost nonchalantly lifted it over the line from close range.

'Our energy was outstanding. We ran all over them in the second half, we have a very good mentality,' said Dyche. 'Twenty unbeaten is a great feat in itself.'

His enthusiasm contrasted with the slightly sour expression on Karanka's face who enjoyed conceding a last-minute goal less than scoring late winners in previous fixtures against Reading and Bolton.

He blamed an injury to Gaston Ramirez after 75 minutes for upsetting his team's rhythm.

Nonetheless, he said: 'I am more than pleased with my players. I am really calm because playing this way, we are going to win more games.'

The managerial mind games are only going to increase in the remaining games. For the neutrals, it promises to be a treat, starting with Burnley's visit to Lancashire rivals Preston on Friday night.
